Love how in MK11 we have a fusion of Raiden (wearing a shirt), Liu Kang (also wearing a shirt) and Revenant Liu Kang (wearing a shirt and fantasy armour), all of which combined give us Fire God Liu Kang (not wearing a shirt at all).

Love them with all my heart! Nothing is better than the childhood friends trope (ok, maybe found family is a little bit better XD), who are being boys, pals, bros, idiots together. <3 We need an animated series about them growing up and training together, I swear...

My fav version of them would be the one in mk11, because there we have cute past boys AND hot revenant boys? for the price of one?? is for me? 👉👈😳

Liu Kang’s design is very iconic and never really changed much in the old tl, but with Kung Lao I also want to mention his cool black-blue-red outfit in mk9, Shaolin Monks and mk Legends. 👌😩 Love how his mk1 Outworld armor is kinda the homage to that.

And although it’s not about the old timeline, but I think that 2021 movie shaolin bros are very nice too! More… soft than their predecessors, but their bond warmed my cold and empty soul. 😌

Post revenant au part 1/4: Liu Kang

- When Liu Kang’s life is restored, he wants more than anything to be grateful. Really, he understands the lengths everyone had to go through in order to bring back him and the others…

- But being stuck as a revenant for almost two decades only to get thrown back in a burnt and scarred body that barely feels like his own has…. Definitely taken its toll on him

- Due to the condition his body is in, he suffers from constant pain and stiffness that makes it difficult to move, let alone fight. No matter the recovery process, the past injuries have made it so his kombat days are over

- Which only starts to make Liu Kang angry

- He’s only angry towards himself though, stemming from the fact that his entire life- his supposed destiny even- was to be the champion of earthrealm. If he can’t fight to defend it, then what use does he have? Was it even worth bringing him back to life?

- He’d rather die all over again than lash out at anyone over his own anger, so he just keeps those feelings to himself out of guilt

- Has tried to forgive Raiden for leading all of them to their deaths, but obviously whatever trust Liu Kang might’ve had towards the thunder god is now shattered
