You'd think that the Revantusk would get a little bit more acknowledgement in-game. We got some NPCs in Zandalar, but not really anything else outside of the Hinterlands. They're the only Forest Trolls in the Horde. Their geographically closest allies are the Forsaken, the Blood Elves, and the Frostwolves; the dynamic there has to be crazy. Also, in Cataclysm they apparently captured the city of Jintha'alor. That gives the Horde a city of pretty decent size in the Eastern Kingdoms; that feels like it should be more important than it has been.

I love my little scene/emo boy. We need more alternative trolls, tired of all these elves pretending to be edgy. lol
Anyways this is my boy Mavryne as a Revantusk troll druid.
Follower of Hireek/Bwondsamdi
He’s so sassy, he does not care what your rank or title is, he operates on a very you give me respect I’ll give you respect. Even to his loa. Within reason, they ARE loa.
But when I was making him I was so torn between all the different troll tribes because once you start looking into each of them they’re all so individually interesting and rich with lore!
I’d like to see trolls get more attention in WoW, they deserve it.

I have a question that's been in my mind forever is "revan" an actual word
Because google gives me no answers
Revantusk in portuguese translates to Revantusco which does not help my case because tusco is an obscure word for tusk but I still have no idea what revan is supposed to mean
#help me i wanna know what the words are#all other troll tribes have full on translations with words i understand except the revantusk

DWC Nov. '22 - Day 2
Orbit - Illusion The temperature is higher today than the past few days, and the snow is gone for the time being. The soft rays of the sun light a path through the forests of Grizzly Hills, and Zim’bowa nestles so cozy that he almost feels like he’s back home in the Hinterlands. The subtle chill almost feels like the crisp air coming in from the ocean breeze, the Revantusk troll remembering such from his home at the port village. Lounging under a tree much like this, eyes drifting closed as he allows himself to relish in the illusion.
Hunters hunt, and fishermen fish. Women of his tribe taking care of commodities and cooking, and children are raised to thrive. Elders of his tribe giving counsel to the young, and the young persevere to take care of the elderly. A delicate balance that everyone has a part to play. She’s there, somewhere. Probably at her weaving loom, or working on his cards- no, her cards. Her child is here too, her son, lounging with him. Not interested in fighting with spear or axe, but interested in the earth, in the plants and the roots, and how Zim’bowa can make medicine out of them. But together they rest, glancing up at the sky to watch the clouds roll by. He can feel the child resting against his chest, used like a large pillow as they drift to sleep. But Zim’bowa’s conscious rouses instead, the weight on his chest physical and very much real.
A child is there, but not the one he once knew. A daughter of a different friend, Kaldorei with silver hair and brimming eyes of moonlight. Anorah lays on her side, at an angle as she rests the side of her face on the forest troll’s chest. Not asleep, but interested in the moss covering the troll’s fur, a small hand delicately touching a beetle that must have found its way onto him. It doesn’t bother him, the bug nor her, but her eyes are drawn to his face as the large troll starts to shift. “How long ya’ been dere?” Zim’bowa asks of the young night elf, his voice feeling raspy from the sleep he took. “I’unno.” Anorah responds, resting her head back down again. “Ya’ Min’da not gonna be likin’ ya’ runnin’ off. Lemme sit-” He brings a hand over to help guide her up before he himself moves. Leaves fall and shift off of him, tufts of fiery orange hair nearly dipping into his eyes, but he smooths it all back with a hand. Zim’bowa turns his tusked head to check for his belongings, finding his traveling satchel and Rush’kah mask where he left it. His companion, a chicken named Pepito, seems to be nowhere in sight. “Ya’ seen Pepito?” “Yea, with Vaeren.” Mentioning her brother, a twin in fact, who Zim’bowa learned had an affinity towards animals. Though he wishes the boy wasn’t so fond of Pepito in particular. “Anta’nar, can you tell me more stories?” Referring to him as an uncle, the child linguistic at such a young age. “Dat what’chu been layin’ around waitin’ for? I just woke up.” His large encompasses the entirety of the top of her head, mussing up her hair. “Ow! My hair!” He doesn’t believe she’s in genuine pain by the way she giggles and pulls away. Footsteps are heard, like a saber carefully treading through fallen leaves that delicately crush beneath feet, but Zim’bowa is familiar with the prowling that’s coming towards them. “Don’t you have anything better to do?” Jiroki finds her daughter with the troll, sea green hair pulled back as she places her hands on her hips, midnight eyes ever intense even when not meant to be. Despite the physical differences, sometimes Jiroki reminded him of her. “You’ve been loitering here for a week now.” “I can’t help it!” Zim’bowa begins, which causes the woman to immediately roll her eyes as he gets up. “Ya’ just got dis- orbit to ya’, not just joo but ya’ family! I’m just drawn, nowhere else ta go! My only family!” “Oh cut it out.” Jiroki doesn’t buy it, already tired of his theatrics, glancing towards Anorah for a moment as the child gets up too. But the woman sighs, dealing with her vice as she’s unable to truly turn him away. “Tch. Jason should be back soon, hopefully with rabbits. Help me prep them for dinner.”
Zim’bowa successfully succeeded in weaseling his way for a free meal again, but his glee is subdued as a smaller head of sea green hair bounds on over. “Zim!” Vaeren is nearly the spitting image of his mother, besides the orbs of amber he has for eyes. He looks emotionally pained, cradling a chicken in his arms. The creature still, face tucked into the warmth of Vaeren’s chest, and the boy moves closer towards the troll. “I don't think Pepito is feeling good…” “Ooh…” Zim’bowa knew better, slowly going down into a squat as the boy gets closer. Already a long time companion as is, at the end of the day, Pepito has the body of an animal. “He just be tired… Pepito is gettin’ old. I don’t think he gonna be havin’ much time left.” “Time?” The boy is young, but old enough to be able to grasp the concept of death, yet still it pained Zim’bowa to see the boy so moved. “B-But… But what do you mean? Pepito isn’t old! Is she?” Anorah herself the same age, yet she doesn’t seem ready to comprehend such things, a concerned but confused expression on her face as she looks to her mother for guidance.
Oh Zim’bowa can just feel the daggers boring into him from Jiroki. Daring to give a quick glance, only to see those abysmal eyes cast judgment on him, eyes she must have slaughtered with when the anger of her people was fresh. Take responsibility he practically hears her say, or maybe it’s just the softest of whispers from a lingering spirit. He stands again, grabbing his things and letting Vaeren hold the dying chicken as he prepares to walk with the boy back towards the cabin. “Pepito is old for a chicken. Let’s go back home an’ get him warm; I’ll explain dere.” @daily-writing-challenge

Tiraka
So I have had a laughing skull orc DK sitting around for some time. I rolled her during Warlords of Draenor and haven’t really done much with her. Well tonight she got backstory. I was talking with my roommate and I just happened. Boom! Death Knight angst!
We got to talking about how she died and I was wondering where she was that the scourge got to her.
‘What if she stayed behind in the Eastern Kingdoms?’ ‘What if she had something she didn’t want to leave behind?’
And then I saw it. My orc DK. All living and happy and in the arms of her mate.
Her forest troll mate.
I have cried a lot tonight. I never thought I would be crying this much over the death of a forest troll.
I still need to look up lore and work out details. There may be some reason that what I have in mind will not work. I don’t know. Unless I find something this is what I’m going with.

Lore Fact of the Week #68
Most Darkspear trolls refuse to worship bird spirits because they believe them to be fickle and weak [Quest: Spirits of the Feralfen]. Forest trolls, however, have no such reservations. The Amani, Revantusk, and Vilebranch tribes all openly venerate and pay homage to either Akil’darah or Akil’zon, both of which are renowned eagle loa [NPC: Kotonga Dialogue, Page: Akil’zon].

OCS Infodump
Cuz i realized i didn't do a Tumblr version of this. I have mainly Trolls/Horde OCs warning.
Mogz, Mogzan
Big overprotective troll brother.
His parents are raptor's raisers, and he is born with a natural empathy with animals.
So he is a hunter but really a beast tamer. He calls his animals his pack.
His best friends are two raptors, Voln and Veena.
He also has Prespa the lynx, Ticlak the hydra and Reek the bat (yes he called her like this in honor of Hi'Reek)
Despite being a proud Darkspear, he is quite curious about the part of cultures from the other tribes he lost. He was really happy to get to Zandalar, and tries to reconnect with the other tribes... Not going so well, but he's a butt head.
Often goes to the Revantusk tribe where he has most of his friends.
Has a tattoo of Halazzi's paw on his left shoulder (made by the Recantusks)
Tries to be a cool leaderpack, is truly a jumpy ball of nerves (and a gay mess)
Boe
Little smartass brother
Jokes about his adoption a lot.
Has a good mojo with elements, especially water. He likes to do sea sculptures as he calls them.
A spiteful brat, if you mess with his family be ready to get hexed.
Never left the Echo Isles yet.
So he never met other humans, only know Darkspear culture...but Somehow, he understood how to give the finger quite easily.
Ink'wal
Proud Zandalari, Paladin of Krag'wa.
You think he's good with his weapon ? You didn't see his kicks. Deadly legs.
Trans man, he made a deal with Gonk to ease his transition.
A sassy kind of protective. "Who loves well bitches well."
Literally can not say no to a challenge of any kind. Even the most stupid dare shall be done.
Funka Clikospik
Gnome alchimist girl.
Got traumatized during the Second war, she has selective mutism.
Designed with her brother a Connected Stylus Textualospeaker Squirrel... Which is a squirrel talking for her through her connected notepad.
Only her bro got the credit for it. That mades her fume.
She left home to study all kinds of magic to put in bottles, and make the most incredible alchimic composition ever.
Attention seaker. Do not try to ignore her, you will regret it.
Every surface is a good surface to put down notes and calculs. Flying papers. Walls. Her arm. Your face. Where she can write, she will write.

Howdy, friends! I’ve been toying around with names and ideas and I think I’ve narrowed it down to two names and appearances!
The first is Mosstusk of the Revantusk Tribe and the second is Windtusk from the Darkspear Tribe!

In game vs a WIP of how I see my troll boy Mav'ren.
He's a feral druid from the Revantusk tribe, despite being a bit of an outsider for his style choices, he's very proud of the tribe he's from.
He has a goth/emo aesthetic, he's also trans(FTM) like myself, pansexual, 25 years old, or whatever the equivalent in troll years is to that. I'm bad at math don't come for me.
He's very devoted to his patron loas as they have provided guidance, company, strength, and support during the struggles of his life. He serves the uncorrupted Hi'reek and thus his flight form is that of a bat. A blessing from his loa. He is close to Bwonsamdi after a near death experiment during his childhood and has a more noticeable appreciation for the role of death as it occurs in the natural world for a druid. Like many of his kinsmen he also holds the loa Akil'Dara in high regards. Seeking the loas favor to keep a watchful eye on his tribe in the Hinterlands, when he's away from home.
Thanks for reading about my troll boy. I love him. I love trolls. Expect to see more of him and other ocs of mine.

Playable Race concept: Forest Troll
requested by @leavenohoofprints
*disclaimer: This is a post for fun, it is in no way meant to be taken seriously. I have thoroughly combed the lore before making this post and is just a “what if” scenario just for shits and giggles and is meant to be taken with a grain of salt.*
Race: Forest Troll
Faction: Horde
Languages: Zandali, Orcish
Summary: Long before the rise and fall of the kingdoms of men, the Forest Trolls of Lordaeron had built an enormous Troll empire known as the Amani. After centuries of war and hate, an Alliance of Elves and Humans finally dealt a crushing blow to the Amani when they defeated a great Troll army at the foot of the Alterac Mountains. The empire splintered into many tribes, each fighting for survival against an ever encroaching Alliance.
However one tribe, the Revantusk, has allied themselves with the Horde, becoming their steadfast allies in the Hinterlands. With the inclusion of the Zandalari into the Horde, the Forest Trolls have fully become part of the Horde as well and joined its ranks, even embracing their former enemies the Blood Elves as comrades against the Alliance.
Classes:
Warrior
Priest
Rogue
Hunter, starting pet is a red lynx (cat)
Warlock
Shaman, totems are similar to the Zandalari ones but carved out of stone
Monk

Regeneration: Passive. Health regeneration rate increased by 10%. 10% of total health regeneration may continue during combat.

Male Flirts:
“I should have you for dinner sometime”
“Do you have any Forest Troll in you? Would you like some?”
“Your hut or mine?”
“I’m learning about important dates from history, wanna be one of them?”
“Objects in kilt are larger than they appear!”
“If it's true that we are what we eat, I could be you by morning!”
Female Flirts:
“Want to go halfers on a baby?”
“I love a date with good taste”
“I may be from Lordaeron, but I am pretty sure you’re da one!”
“You are the mince to my tatties”
“I may have sworn off cannibalism, but I wanna piece of that”
“I may not be nice, but I can be your bonny lass!”
Male Jokes:
“Humans and Orcs are natural enemies, like Elves and Trolls! Or Dwarves and Trolls! Or Pandaren and Trolls! Or Trolls and other Trolls! Damn Trolls, they ruined Lordaeron!”
“Did you hear the one about the Troll who passed a Human in the forest?”
“My first act as Warchief will be to kill the whole lot of ya, and burn Orgrimmar to cinders!...I know what I said!”
“If I ate myself would I get fatter or just disappear?”
“Forgive your enemy, but remember the bastard’s name!”
“Sorry for the mean, awful, accurate things I said”
Female Jokes:
“Don’t mess with Forest Trolls, we’re temperamental; 50% temper and 50% mental!”
"Every fight is a food fight if you’re a Troll!”

“There’s nary an animal alive that can outrun a greased Forest Troll!”
“You’ve just made an enemy for life!”
“I’m trying to see things from your point of view, but I can’t stick my head that far up my ass!”

Some random facts for every lady in that picture
1. Caiena
She a forest troll (Revantusk) and a priest. Not focused on any one loa, she's more of a general practicioner. Her job mostly consists of interpreting and helping with rituals, and the occasional healing. She's also a vegetarian!
2. Zabre
Littol lady, Tari's baby sister, a very spunky shaman who doesn't do so well with the spiritual part of it as much as breaking teeth. She's specially good with fire and lighting! Recently turned to following Akunda :D
3. Dinorah
Zandalari prelate, follower of Krag'wa. Spent a lot of time sneaking into Nazmir as a little girl, much to her family's despair, but she's always been a tough one! Zai's twin sister ^^
4. Isaura
Drakkari warrior, a little too friendly with the Horde for her tribe's comfort so they kicked her out. She ended up joining the Horde after almost dying a couple of times and currently she's taking a vacation in Zuldazar with her gf :3
5. Mina
Sand troll mage (witch doctor ic), a studious of many different types of magic and very good at hexing. Has a prosthetic leg and has had it for a few years now, currently in Zandalar learning new things.
And 6. Mamoriri
The big gal herself, Zandalari dire troll, warrior and follower of Torcali. Was born a normal Zandalari and later undertook the rituals to become a dire troll, at the time it was a decision she thought would help her achieve her goal, which is to protect people. To her all trolls are family no matter what tribe they're from. Isaura's gf!
#blabbles#i love all of them a whole lot#caiena is old as hell creation wise she was one of my first trolls#just a fun fact :)
