Average restaurant worker experiencing the after church Sunday crowd. I'm convinced it is low blood sugar as the culprit.

Working open to close (6-6) because people called out sucks. Working open to close then having to go to your second job for another few hours double sucks.
I just want to go to bed.

So I work at a fine dining farm to table restaurant that will remain nameless, and tonight someone had booked almost the entire restaurant for a 40th Birthday Party which was wild for a couple of reasons:
Firstly, how do you get to 40 with more than 35 people who want to come to your birthday party? It was a Bilbo Baggins level affair and he wasn’t even turning 111. Also all of the people there were kind of annoying, which is perplexing because somehow they all found each other and stayed friends long enough to go to said 40th Birthday Party.
Second, at one point a man came out of the dining area with one of those wine gift bags and asked one of the servers if we had duct tape, and she looked confused so he explained by pulling out a 40 of malt liquor and explaining that as part of a 40th birthday celebration they were going to duct tape the birthday boy’s hand to the 40 until he finished it. We definitely did have duct tape but the server told the man we didn’t because, and I quote, “we aren’t supporting you playing Edward 40 Hands in the establishment sir,” to which he looked extremely confused and disappointed and replied “but it’s only one hand?”

realized that both the beginning and the end of the happy paris stage of Loumand's relationship has this same contrasting orange to blue/green color scheme. and like. the visual metaphor of Armand literally leaving his cold, lifeless world behind him and choosing the bright, golden warmth of life with Louis instead of killing him like he was supposed to in that tunnel. but as soon as he chooses the coven over Louis, he separates from the warmth like oil in water that was never supposed to be there. and now he's back out in the cold. I'm normal about this, btw.

A Different Kind of Foodie
Like many a young American, my very first job, that is the first one I got paid for, was at a McDonald’s in Arleta, CA. I was sixteen years old and had just earned my driver’s license. This was in the Summer of 1963 and my father had bought me a used ’57 Chevy – my dream car. On my first day I did nothing but make milkshakes. On the second day I bagged french fries. Then the manager discovered I…

Someone needs to do an analysis on the way the Kung Fu Panda movies use old-fashioned vs. modern language ("Panda we meet at last"/"Hey how's it going") and old-fashioned vs. modern settings (forbidden-city-esque palaces/modern-ish Chinese restaurant) to indicate class differences in their characters, and how those class differences create underlying tensions and misunderstandings.
