Genocide Joe drops out
As far as I'm concerned, this changes nothing. I'm still voting third party.

So, it isn't just American media that are openly anti-worker
Canada’s postal worker strike is nearing the end of its second week with no sign of movement from Canada Post after negotiations broke down earlier this week. While 55,000 members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers have been on the picket lines since November 15 fighting to protect their pensions, improve working conditions and push for higher wages that keep pace with inflation, media coverage of the strike has tended to focus on anti-worker narratives rather than the reasons postal workers went on strike. Now, even as the union says the employer is moving to lay off striking workers, common headlines centre around the impact of service disruptions on the general public —a similar talking point being used by Canada Post.

Saying that most Americans are woefully ignorant of the rest of the world is too kind.
to any americans who feel "paralyzed" and "dont know what to do" to help with gaza:
reading a fucking book. i beg of you.
in a time of knowledge suppression is it your duty to arm yourself with knowledge.
read about americas occupations in the middle east.
read about 9/11 from outside of america and see how they inflicted senseless harm and violence to countless amounts of people and have been suppressing your rights for the past 2 fucking decades.
read about any of the countless wars from the past 30 years. especially from a civilian's. and the victims and survivors' perspective. listen to the horror stories and do not plug your fucking ears as to what your country is doing.
and read about fucking gaza and palestine and keep up with what is happening no matter how "sad" or "uncountable" you might get.
dont look away from this.
you dont have the right to be comfortable during countless active genocides.
if you're knowledgeable, you're powerful, and our current state doesnt fucking want that.
you have the power to change things if you open your eyes and scream to the world.
wake the fuck up.

These social democrats should be booed off campuses for remaining in a party that gives Israel whatever it wants.
They should not be co-opting the movement.

Democrats Abroad Canada shared on Facebook that there's a "750% increase in Americans googling "Can I change my vote" since November 5th, especially in red states."
So, for anyone who's wondering:
No, you can't change your vote.
Yes, Biden dropped out of the race.
Yes, Project 2025 is real and the felon-elect supports it.
Yes, you just voted (or chose not to vote) for your country to become a fascist Russian client state.
And the time to look all this shit up-from actual, serious sources, not conspiracy theorists and misinformation recommended to you by social media algorithms-was FOUR FUCKING WEEKS AGO.
Sorry if I sound pissed off. It's because I am. Because unimaginable suffering is going to happen because just a few hundred thousand more people out of a nation of 340 million didn't care enough to stop it. And now it's too late to do anything about it but try to survive, and hope that we get another chance in four years.
Remember this lesson next time. If there is a next time.

It's so frustrating to see my Facebook timeline mostly littered with "I stand with Israel" without any context due to the nonstop manufacturing of consent by the media.
As it's been said repeatedly on YouTube: Americans are the most propagandized people in the world.
🇵🇸🇮🇱🇺🇲 The mainstream media in the United States and Europe is painting everyone into a corner. Either you are "with Hamas" or something, or you're "with Israel" whatever that means.
Here's the reality of the situation:
Palestinians live under worse apartheid conditions than anything we've seen in our lifetimes. They endure industrial scale oppression and violence at every level of their lives in an attempt to force their displacement.
You know, that whole make someone so miserable they leave of their own volition thing? Yeah, well that's what's been happening in Palestine since 1946.
War by war, skirmish by skirmish, conflict by conflict, with the backing of the entirety of the Western international apparati and the United States, Israel stole a little more land each time conflict broke out from the native Palestinians.
For decades, Israel has used a policy of inviting Jews from around to world to pour into the newly founded Israel and water down the Arab-majority demographics of the region, even as they control who can and cannot leave Palestinian territories and use their blockade of Gaza to control their diets and therefore, their reproductive habits.
Every time there was a war or displacement of Jews around the globe, Israeli authorities were there to invite more Jews, especially European and Soviet Jews, into Israel.
And so each time the apartheid conditions of Palestinians became unbearable, the Arab community in the region would lash out however they could, using politics and violence alike, as any community living under apartheid conditions would do, and each time, with the backing of the United States, Israel acquired more and more territory, displacing more and more Palestinians as they crowded into the few remaining Palestinian enclaves; what is today's West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
And so you can see by analyzing this history, how Palestinians, time and time again, are painted into a corner from which there is no escape.
Words go unheard by the world, prayers go unanswered, protests are brutally stifled using Israeli snipers, machine gun nests, and indiscriminate shelling, and slowly but surely, options for the Palestinian community shrink until nothing is left but violence. This cycle of violence is more than well documented for anyone willing to simply look.
Journalists and medics are purposely targeted during Protests, Palestinians are maimed, murdered, raped and imprisoned for resisting non-violently. This is also well documented for anyone willing to just look.
So no, no American has the right to judge Palestinians for how they choose to resist this Fascism, genocide, Colonialism and occupation.
I've NEVER heard an American denounce the settlers and occupation forces' beatings, raping, imprisoning and murdering of Palestinians.
I'm not "on Hamas' side" or whatever you people are saying, I'm telling you and everyone else it's not our place to tell people how they can and cannot resist genocide and ethnic cleansing or to pass some kind moral judgement as though we're somehow superior to Palestinians.
It's that same kind of supremacist thinking that leads Israelis to commit such horrific and barbaric violence against Palestinians in the first place.
I don't 'celebrate' the deaths of Israelis, I mourn the loss of Palestinians every day.
Solidarity to the death with Palestine!

July 11, 2024 - Hamas released video of an incredibly brave Palestinian resistance member in Rafah once again just running up to an IDF tank and disabling it by placing an IED in direct contact. The end of the video shows the disabled tank being towed away. [link]

Interesting how Hama is sent back to a Fire Nation prison at the end of “The Puppetmaster” when imprisonment was exactly the thing that caused the conflict of the episode. Imprisonment was the cause of the problem, yet was somehow also seen as the most acceptable solution to it. At the end, an inhabitant of the town tells Hama: “You’re going to be locked away forever.” Which cements the idea that the best response to Hama’s transgressions is to lock her up…again.
This is what I mean when I say that Hama’s episode is an example of ATLA’s anti-resistance propaganda. Ultimately, Hama’s senseless violence against random Fire Nation citizens is viewed as more depraved and horrifying than the genocide that was wrought upon the Southern water benders. And before anyone tries to twist my words, I’m talking about what this means NARRATIVELY and the kind of message that it sends as well as the biases it reflects.
In a show where even Fire Nation soldiers and guards get to have moments of humanity, Hama (a victim of genocide and oppression) is treated as a frightening monster whose depravity knows no bounds. Characters who participated in the Fire Nation’s conquering efforts are ultimately seen as worthier of humanity than the characters who were victims of it.
It’s not just that Hama does bad things, it’s that the show portrays her as crazy and villainous for her reaction to the violence she suffered. Hama’s actions still could have been morally wrong, but they could’ve approached the issue in a way that didn’t treat her like a monster and allowed her to be sympathetic.
