Given the news today, this is really appropriate.

Ninety-nine out of 100 people agree: Rest in piss, Brian Thompson.

Took him to the hospital but still died. Guess they couldn't get prior authorization approval to save his life.

So, it isn't just American media that are openly anti-worker
Canada’s postal worker strike is nearing the end of its second week with no sign of movement from Canada Post after negotiations broke down earlier this week. While 55,000 members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers have been on the picket lines since November 15 fighting to protect their pensions, improve working conditions and push for higher wages that keep pace with inflation, media coverage of the strike has tended to focus on anti-worker narratives rather than the reasons postal workers went on strike. Now, even as the union says the employer is moving to lay off striking workers, common headlines centre around the impact of service disruptions on the general public —a similar talking point being used by Canada Post.

Given my prior experience with United Healthcare, I refuse to shed any tears for Brian Thompson's demise. Check this shit out:
instagram
So, United Healthcare fucked around with denying people basic services and Brian Thompson found out the harshest way possible.
Expect more of this as people realize that they're never getting any decent healthcare and that their "saviors" in D.C. were anything but.

At 3:40, I said: that may be due to years of Western media associating ALL populist movements with the right while failing to give left-populists similar attention. Also, the "conservative" left is the end result of three decades of people only having three options throughout the developed world--socially left/economically right, centrist, and right-wing.
At 6:45 you don't say! And for the people defending technocrats: who do you think are responsible for the collapse of the traditional parties' credibility in the first place?
7:01 Well, there's that. Here in the US, social democratic organizations inspired by Bernie Sanders and The Squad have failed to dominate the overall discourse because for every focus they've had on economic issues, they've focused on two or three cultural issues. Also, when it comes to the UK, I remember some of Corbyn's own supporters squashing any possibilities of him making an effective left-wing argument FOR Brexit (EU had become too bureaucratic, less attentive to people's concerns).

Democrats enable Republicans!
We've prepared a zine version of our text exploring why the Democrats are responsible for Donald Trump's return to power and what we have to do to regain the initiative.

With the way things are going, I totally expect the response from Washington to be something along the lines of "let the weak die" if we have another pandemic within the next five years.
i guess it was naïve of me to hope widespread awareness of post-covid conditions would prompt broader conversations about post-acute complications of literally every infection ever. no ur right it's much better to continue positioning covid as uniquely bad & completely politically unpredictable & a total divergence from how every infectious agent is handled in capitalist healthcare systems. this definitely won't bite anyone in the ass
