Hey does anyone have a Myou Delia? Or just resin bjds in general? Could you tell me if this is normal? My Literature Girl Delia arrived, but something kinda weirded me out with her bottom lip, there's like a huge dimple right below it. It casts a pretty big shadow that almost makes it look like a goatee, but I can't tell if that's bc it's shaded with makeup or not. Is this normal? And if it's not, can you please tell me she's a very special and pretty girl and looks extra cute because of it lol?

For the BJD’s I’m gonna one day get, I’m not gonna buy them any clothes. I wanna make them myself so the clothes are perfect to my vision. Which makes the doll cheaper since my parents can easily help with fabric or I can use some old t-shirts for the clothes.

And since I’m gonna go with resin for them, I shouldn’t have to worry too much about the fabric staining my poor little dollies!

They’ll be adorable! I will use images of pre-existing bjd clothes for inspiration since I kinda wanna make him the most adorable fancy dress you’ve ever seen and it’ll be all for him!

I gotta source a few plastic keys for one of their outfits.

I’ve got all these resin dolls that I loved from the last 10-12 years. They’re in boxes. Some finished and others wiped to redo. I don’t think I like resin anymore. I think I’m a vinyl collector. I want to sell my resin but I don’t have the energy to sell them because every time I’ve sold the people are so impatient or just acting very rude. I’m just going to toss all the boxes and put the resin in a storage box. Maybe I’ll love them again, but it’s been 3 years so far.

I purchased him over a year ago from a fellow Den of Angels member, got a body for him last year (Popodoll 66cm body), and a few months ago actually began his faceup. There is a difference in the resin shades which I tried to compensate for while doing his face. It's bearable and eventually the body will yellow slightly over time making the difference less noticeable, hopefully.

A very, very kind stranger from the BJD forums reached out to me- having restored her own dolls after a fire, she offered to do the same for mine, free of charge. She put weeks of painstaking work into my doll, asking nothing in return, and I am eternally grateful

and today, my phoenix girl came home from the faceup artist.

to say that I'm blown away would be an understatement. she looks so gorgeous that I can hardly believe it. you'd never know she had been in a fire, which makes me tear up a little (pardon the not-quite-finished outfit; I just didn't want her to be nude). yes, she's just a doll, but when you lose so much, having something come back to you can mean the world

it's been a long road, Maryse. here's to happier adventures together

Incidentally forgot I had this slightly taller also Copper Oriental matched body, so now he's a little taller, leggy, and quite a bit more posable.

Sometimes I question my sanity. ;)

Because I’m using size 15 beads (inconsistent Toho beads, no less) to weave this top.

Clothing the Dream Valley Bone Butterfly Crystal body would be a challenge. So I decided bead-weaving was my best option. And since this is Skuld’s alternate body and her birthday is coming up, I went with the second most masochistic option: size 15 Toho beads.

I’ve done some new things with this top to get the size and help shape the rounded cups. Probably 10 hours into this so far. Absolutely dreading the fringe! Heh heh!

BJD stuff

I researched dolls and stuff, and I believe I found a good choice for the little toddler character I wanna make.

I’m thinking about getting the 1/6 Sprouting Dragon doll from Janesdolland. It’s the only doll I found that looked right for the body of the character I need. Which is a toddler-y body that’s more affordable.

But getting the scars in the stomach, arms, and one on the leg is probably gonna be hard… I dunno if I could commission that or not…

And it seems to be resin too, so my baby can have his dark-colored clothes on and nit have to worry about some irremovable staining…! …Now to find him a cute outfit, and to find him a dark blue (or navy blue) long haired wig. And a gold and black eye (he has heterochromia)

And to find good dolls for his sisters, who are both around the same height and are flat-chested. So far every doll I saw that was taller than about 24cm had some sort of chest to them, but I want taller flat-chested dolls.

today i'm welcoming home my first BJD, "lieselotte!" i would like to occasionally post more doll content (especially lolita related) on my blog from now on.. so you may be seeing her often!! ♡

lolita collaborations sparked my interest in ball jointed dolls quite a while ago, but i've only recently started researching them and have come to love all of the similarities these hobbies share. i was very lucky to be able to find my discontinued dream doll completely unopened from a secondhand sale despite this specific model being made and distributed almost 15 years ago. it gives the same feeling as a very well preserved time capsule of sorts.

to give more information on her--she is a 2010 limited release model volks super dollfie x baby, the stars shine bright collaboration from the storyline "harajuku memories"

she is absolutely everything i wanted in a doll and a perfect fit for me as a lolita and avid fan of btssb. i prefer the older faceups of her rather than the more modern ones. i intend on matching coords with her-- so far, i own the same gingham rose OP, her default dress, and the honey cross shoes and socks.. though i want to hunt down the same christina hat she wears. i plan to take her outside with me once the weather gets a bit nicer, as her storyline mentions that being her wish!

i'm quite new to the hobby and still have a lot to learn, so feel free to share any resources or tips ^_^
