Mission "HUR-CAT"
Ukrainian intelligence officers have evacuated 15 cats and kittens from Snake Island. The winter is going to be harsh, so it was decided to send them to an animal shelter where they can be adopted.

Just replayed the pharaoh level of Luigi's Mansion 3 and am being aggressively reminded of how bad of a time Luigi has throughout this entire game.

so like it’s 1999 and solid snake is in zanzibar land and gray fox tells you that all he can do is fight. it’s all he has and it’s probably all you’re ever going to have, too, because deep down you know your father is right, you know he is right as you click the lighter and burn the flesh off his skin, you know he is right when he tells you, this will never go away. i am always going to be a part of you. it’s 2005 and solid snake is in shadow moses island, alaska and gray fox tells you that’s good, snake. hit me harder. do it more. that’s good. when you meet meryl you kill the guards, and then snake thinks he loves her, so you kill psycho mantis for her, ocelot tortures you and you withstand it for her, you beat liquid to a pulp for her and while his blood is on your fists he smiles and tells you that you two, you’ll always be the same. gray fox means violence means meryl means violence, so what’s love if not that? what is it if not the feeling of broken bones under your knuckles, if not the smell of your father’s burnt flesh? but she's too young, she doesn’t understand you and she couldn’t if she tried, because she’s eighteen years old and doesn’t know any better and doesn’t understand that after you sleep with her you’re going to get up and let the pillow grow cold, she thinks you’ll tell her everything and when you don’t, because you can’t, she’ll leave you. you kill him with your fists and for her you destroy shadow moses and you hear him say to you again that’s good, snake, that feels good, do it harder. but it isn’t a coincidence that in mgs1 you meet otacon at the same time you meet gray fox. otacon who is so scared of battle he pisses his pants and otacon who cries over a woman who could never love him back and otacon who thinks good people like dogs, kind people like dogs, otacon who passed you a meal, ready-to-eat and a bottle of ketchup across the bars of your cell and when you ask him why the fuck are you here if you cant help me he says to you, i thought you might be hungry. otacon who gives you her handkerchief that was once her mother's and will be hers once again when she dies, when you rest it atop her glazed-over irises, a cycle of love. she was a good person, snake, and so are you. she liked the wolves and you do too. otacon who cries over his baby sister’s little body, who blames himself for being seventeen years old under the touch of the woman who should have been his mother. otacon who when it's 2014 will make you the solid eye and the octocamo suit and the mk. ii to keep you safe and say to you, don't hurt anyone, snake. will say to you: i'll follow you wherever you go, like this. otacon who blubbers like a baby and cries too much and who, when it's 2009 in new york city, you have to say to, go rescue the hostages, because if you don’t he’s going to crumple in on himself, a dying star. this is how you love, you don’t say to him, and how i love, because you showed me how. wrap your arms around his shoulders and hope it’s enough.

This is Orion, my yellow rat snake. He's been with me for a good while, came from some really unfortunate circumstances and has always been a bit of an oddball personality wise. He's the most docile ratsnake you've ever met but has a zero tolerance touching policy. He will not leave his tank of his own regard, even if the lid is off for hours(supervised). His favorite pastimes include belly painting the glass with the water bowl and begging for food (which he very politely takes from the tongs like a gentleman).

September 🍁🍂
Tumblr media
Nothing ever hurt as much as being left behind by her flock, not even Mayfairs attempted murder or her now broken wing were even close to the gut wrenching feeling of being alone…or so she thought 🍂🦆
—————
The covey did not leave Goosey Gray because they wanted to; rather, Mayfair did something heinous before she told them Goosey was staying with her little “quackery boyfriend.” Neither Barb Azure nor Maude Ivory wanted to go. Both cousins held onto the hope that Goosey Gray would burst through the bushes and rejoin the flock, but that didn’t happen. Time was running out, and with their schedule already behind, they left for migration without her, thinking Goosey Gray would be fine with Coriolanus Duck. Unbeknownst to them, she was lying in a trench with a broken wing, trying to reach them.
Goosey Gray managed to see her flock one more time before they disappeared behind the mountains. She called out with distress honks, trying unsuccessfully to lift herself into the air. Her calls were so loud that even Coriolanus heard them, confused since he had said goodbye to Goosey the day before. After giving up, being exhausted from the attempts she stayed on the lake for quite some time until the nights grew colder and the leaves started falling not knowing what to do. Unsure whether to approach the farm and ask for help, Goosey hesitated, knowing the hoomans had a rifle.
It didn’t took long until Coriolanus Duck found her sleeping by the fence in the tall grass in the early morning, bringing her some good food like the perfect future duckie husband he is 🪿🍂
—————
Mayfair wasn't static when she saw that Goosey Gray had not only survived but also multiplied as they returned

So, do all diffused corn snakes have to have patternless sides or is it another gene that can have levels of expression? I'm buying a pewter corn hatchling soon but it has those patterns. And another completely unrelated question (didn't want to send 2 asks) but lets say one snake is het for charcoal and the other snake its being paired to is not het for charcoal. Does that het pass on to the hatchling at all?
Hello friend!
Diffused corn snakes should have some level of diffusion of pattern on their sides (that's where the name comes from!) that gets more pronounced closer to the tummy, but there are definitely levels of quality at play. A snake with no or very light side patterning is obviously going to be a higher quality Diffused than one with more normal-type side patterning. It's become pretty common to see these popping up in the hobby, though, as folks just mash snakes together without regard for morph integrity. :(
Personally, I know "pet only" is a bit of a trigger phrase in the reptile hobby, but if a Diffused has normal, undiffused patterning on their sides or any checkering on their tummy, I certainly wouldn't consider them worth breeding. They can still be a gorgeous lovely pet! There's absolutely nothing wrong with keeping snakes as pets and just, like, not breeding them! You don't need to breed them to love them! You don't need to breed them please stop breeding them I beg of you please the market is so saturated please do not
Anyway,
If a het [insert favorite gene here] is paired to a non-het, the resulting offspring will be 50% likely to carry the het gene. We call these "50% het [gene name]" until proven het or non-het.

More dnd writing because it's all I have but I here's a snippet from a vignette I did of Rook's past (from Zara's POV), because Rook and his mentors never fails to make me sick (/pos).
Tumblr media
[transcript under the cut]
Taking a coin out of her pocket, she rolled it across her knuckles, back and forth. It gave her hands something to do, and prevented the urge to bite her nails, something she hadn’t done in years. Ten minutes passed, then twenty. Zara began to pace as Rook’s breathing grew shakier and the color drained from his skin. Where the hells is Jay? she wondered. The room was so quiet that she could hear every tick of the small clock on her bedside table, and each one echoed in her head. How many ticks does he have left? She didn’t want to think about it.  She’d had crew members die before, of course. You don’t go as many years as a captain as she had and never lose a soul. But all the others who had died had died quickly, in combat. She’d mourned for all of them, even shed tears in private, but there was something different about watching the life drain out of a person right in front of your eyes.
#morrigan.text#my writing#dnd#dnd writing#morrigan plays dnd#oc: Rook#oc: Zara#(Rook's first captain and mentor)#literally no one else but me would know this but the fact that he learned that coin-rolling trick from watching her#(and after a lot of practice and embarrassing failures in his free time)#and he also does it when he's nervous/anxious/bored/fidgety... augh I can't take it.#this takes place when he'd been with her crew for about a year so he was roughly 18 in this. BABY boy.#He gets to see her again for the first time in 3 years VERY SOON in-campaign and I can't stop thinking about it.#I've been waiting for this moment since I joined this campaign so like a year and a half now.#YES I KNOW ALL MY WRITING LATELY HAS BEEN TORMENTING ROOK PHYSICALLY.#I'M SORRY. IT'S THE EASIEST THING FOR ME TO WRITE#I am UNWELL over my boy and his mentors#also poor Rook... he can't escape the snake motifs.#he gets bitten by a snake-like sea monster and nearly dies. he's a prisoner on a ship called the sea snake. Twice.#the second time he's rescued by a person with snake tattoos all over their body because they used to belong to a gang called#the horned serpents. And because they helped destroy that gang said person was supposed to never go back to the town Rook needs to go to.#but when they get there turns out they needn't have worried because all criminal activity has been stopped by a HUGE FUCKING SNAKE#with a very twisted sense of morality that may or may not be a god and has appointed itself High Judge of the town#and ofc because Zara is the mayor of that town and the snake is her problem Rook will do ANYTHING to get rid of it for her#but um yeah. lots of snakes for Rook. And most of this was accidental.#I swear I didn't plan it this way on purpose.
