I support the new clean auto rules! And I oppose defunding climate policies!
316 so far! Help us get to 500 signers!
I am thrilled that the U.S. finalized strong climate change rule for cars yesterday. These rules will force automakers to ramp up electric vehicle sales and slash emissions from gas-powered models. The rule also would reduce fine particulate matter — the most risky form of pollution to our health. Only seven countries met global guidelines for it last year. The fact that the U.S. is leading the world on climate action is great news!
I know that fossil fuel companies are likely to challenge this rule. I want you to stand with the Biden administration and fight back. We are in a climate emergency and we are losing. We need to do much, much more to avoid the worst consequences of a warming planet. This strong rule is a needed next step. I expect Congress to back it and do even more.
As for the Republicans’ trying to defund President Biden’s green tax credits? Absolutely unacceptable. I consider it an outrage that GOP lawmakers are putting oil and gas companies’ profits above our children’s futures. They need to stop right now. Thanks.

Is Trump's 2024 Campaign Ground Game Falling Short?
Many Republican strategists are concerned over Donald Trump's perceived lack of a strong ground game in key battleground states, fearing it could impact his chances in a tight election. Despite initiatives like "Trump Force 47" and collaboration with outside groups, GOP operatives on the ground aren’t seeing the same level of voter outreach as in previous campaigns. Can relying on low-propensity, rural voters and outside groups rather than traditional ground operations succeed? What are your thoughts on the effectiveness of ground game strategies in modern elections?

Trump claims that Iran has hacked his campaign
Tumblr media
Citing historical tensions between himself and Iran, Donald Trump has claimed that parts of his campaign's internal communications have been compromised and he has placed the blame on the Iranian government. The campaign for the Republican Party issued a statement soon after Politico, a news website, revealed that it had started receiving emails in July from an unidentified source providing genuine papers from within Trump's administration, including a dossier regarding running mate JD Vance's "potential vulnerabilities." Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said "These documents were obtained illegally from foreign sources hostile to the United States, intended to interfere with the 2024 election and sow chaos throughout our Democratic process." "The Iranians know that President Trump will stop their reign of terror just like he did in his first four years in the White House." Late on Saturday night, Trump announced on his Truth Social app that the campaign had just received information from Microsoft (MSFT.O) that one of its websites had been hacked by Iran. Citing Iran as the source of the problem, he said that they "only able to get publicly available information." He didn't go into any more detail about the hack. The Trump campaign cited a study released on Friday by Microsoft researchers, which claimed that in June, hackers with ties to the Iranian government attempted to breach the account of a "high-ranking official" on a U.S. presidential campaign. Unfounded fear can have a significant impact on our lives
but it is important to recognize that it is not based on reality. This kind of fear can hold us back and prevent us from reaching our full potential. As God’s children, we must not allow unfounded fear to oppress us. We are called to live life to the fullest, for His glory. While fear in itself is not always bad, we must discern between genuine fear and unfounded fear. The fear of the Lord, for example, is a healthy reverence that leads to wisdom and understanding Psalm 111:10. We should strive to cultivate this kind of fear in our lives...

Donald Trump's Choice of JD Vance as VP
As we approach the November general election, the political landscape is heating up with high stakes and intense competition. One of the most intriguing developments this election season is Donald Trump's decision to select JD Vance as his running mate for Vice President of the United States. This choice is bound to have significant implications for the race, and as a staunch supporter of the Republican Party, I believe it could be the defining factor that leads us to victory.
Why JD Vance?
JD Vance, the bestselling author of "Hillbilly Elegy," has emerged as a compelling figure in American politics. His book, which provides a poignant look into the lives of working-class Americans, struck a chord with many voters who feel neglected by the political elite. Vance’s background resonates with the same demographic that propelled Trump to victory in 2016. His deep understanding of the struggles faced by everyday Americans makes him a strategic and empathetic choice for VP.
Tumblr media
Vance’s political rise has been meteoric. His straightforward approach and dedication to addressing the opioid crisis, economic disenfranchisement, and educational reform have earned him respect across the political spectrum. Aligning with Trump, who has a strong base of support among similar demographics, Vance brings a fresh perspective that could attract undecided voters and reinforce the ticket’s appeal to the heartland.
The Dynamics of the Race
This election is set to be one of the tightest races in recent memory. With the Democrats and Republicans neck-and-neck in the polls, every decision counts. The choice of JD Vance is a calculated move to consolidate support and reach out to swing voters who may have felt alienated in recent years. Vance’s narrative of rising from poverty to success embodies the American Dream, an ideal that remains a powerful motivator for many voters.
Moreover, Vance’s candidacy as VP is likely to energise the Republican base. His articulate stance on key issues such as immigration, economic reform, and healthcare aligns well with Trump’s policies, ensuring a coherent and unified platform. This unity is crucial in presenting a formidable front against the Democratic contenders.
What Lies Ahead
As we move closer to November, the importance of voter engagement and turnout cannot be overstated. Trump's decision to partner with Vance signals a commitment to addressing the concerns of all Americans, particularly those who have felt left behind. This ticket offers a blend of experience and fresh ideas, which could be the winning formula in this critical election.
The Republican Party has always been about resilience and innovation, and the Trump-Vance ticket epitomises these values. It's a combination that promises to uphold conservative principles while also pushing forward with innovative solutions to contemporary issues.
JD Vance's selection as Donald Trump's running mate is a bold and promising move. As a passionate supporter of the Republican Party, I have high hopes for this ticket. The journey to the White House will be challenging, but with strong leadership and a clear vision for the future, I am confident that Trump and Vance have what it takes to triumph in November. Let's rally together, work hard, and ensure that our values and voices lead the way to a brighter future for America.

Jon Stewart, the renowned comedian and political commentator, made a compelling return to the anchor chair on "The Daily Show" this Monday. He tackled the contentious topic of cancel culture, a subject that has been a hot-button issue in political discourse. Stewart argued that while many on the political right claim they are victims of cancel culture, the real perpetrator is none other than former President Donald Trump. Jon Stewart Argues Stewart's Take on Trump and Cancel Culture During his monologue, Stewart didn’t shy away from criticizing Donald Trump. He highlighted the irony of the situation: those who are the loudest about being canceled are often the ones wielding the cancelation power. “If you ever dare speak out one iota against Donald Trump… be yes, afraid,” Stewart said, pointing out that Republicans who criticize Trump often face severe backlash from within their party. Trump’s Criminal Trials and Media Circus Stewart’s commentary also included some humorous takes on Trump’s ongoing legal battles. He likened Trump to the bumbling cartoon character Mr. Magoo, who manages to evade disaster despite his constant blunders. “He’s just stumbling around, quid pro quo and metal beams falling all around, get out completely unscathed,” Stewart quipped, illustrating how Trump seems to navigate scandals with little consequence. The Harrison Butker Controversy Stewart then focused on a recent event involving Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker. Butker’s commencement speech at Benedictine College stirred controversy due to his strong religious views and denouncement of abortion, euthanasia, IVF, surrogacy, and the LGBTQ community. He also criticized the “diabolical lies told to women” and suggested the benefits of traditional gender roles. Stewart used this example to highlight the selective outrage of cancel culture, noting that Butker’s comments were met with significant backlash, yet similar views expressed by Trump often go unchallenged by his supporters. The Real Cancel Culture: Within the GOP The crux of Stewart’s argument is that the most severe instances of cancel culture are found within the Republican Party itself, particularly against those who oppose Trump. He pointed out that Trump’s critics within the GOP often face political exile or intense public scrutiny, effectively being “canceled” for their dissenting views. The Hypocrisy of Cancel Culture Claims Stewart’s analysis sheds light on the hypocrisy of cancel culture claims. While conservatives often decry being canceled by the “woke left,” Stewart argues that the real cancelation efforts are spearheaded by Trump and his loyalists. This, he suggests, is a tactic to maintain control and suppress any opposition within the party. The Impact on Political Discourse Stewart’s insights into cancel culture and Trump’s role in it have significant implications for political discourse. The suppression of dissenting voices within the GOP stifles healthy debate and reinforces a culture of fear and conformity. By highlighting these issues, Stewart encourages a more nuanced understanding of cancel culture and its effects on democracy.

Protect Women's Rights, Privacy, Speech - Andrea Haitz (Daily Sentinel Letter to Editor)
Last week, the Biden administration set women and Title IX back decades. The 1500-page document contains so many violations. I'll outline just a few here.
Title IX, which stood as a beacon of gender equality in education, is now under siege by the current administration's ill-conceived revisions, particularly in athletics. Allowing biological males to compete in women's sports is not just misguided; it's a direct assault on the very principles of fair competition that Title IX was designed to uphold. By permitting individuals with inherent physical advantages to compete against their female counterparts, the administration is not fostering equality but rather perpetuating inequality on the playing field and so much more.
Additionally, the audacity to extend scholarships designated for women to biological males further highlights the administration's disregard for the advancement of female students. Diverting resources meant to empower and support women in education impedes progress towards gender equity.
The erosion of privacy rights and safety concerns for women and girls in intimate spaces is yet another egregious consequence of these revisions. Allowing biological males access to women's facilities disregards the fundamental right to privacy. It puts vulnerable individuals at risk, betraying the very essence of Title IX's mission to protect and empower women.
Another concern is the introduction of a speech-compelling provision that blatantly infringes on individuals' freedom of expression. Mandating specific language or viewpoints regarding gender identity stifles open dialogue and debate, creating a chilling effect on free speech and further exacerbating tensions surrounding gender issues and freedom of speech.
Moreover, the alterations to procedures for addressing sexual harassment allegations on college campuses are a travesty of justice. Denying the accused the right to cross-examine their accusers undermines the principles of fairness and due process enshrined in the Sixth Amendment. This reckless disregard for procedural integrity risks turning Title IX proceedings into nothing more than "Kangaroo courts," where individuals are denied their fundamental rights and subjected to unjust accusations.
The current administration's revisions to Title IX regulations represent a gross overreach and a betrayal of the law's foundational principles. These changes not only undermine gender equity, fairness, and privacy rights but also threaten the very fabric of justice in educational settings. As a woman, a mother of a girl and two boys, I oppose these revisions and demand accountability to ensure the continued advancement of biological women's equality and justice under Title IX.

Trump's Strategic Shift to Long Island
Donald Trump’s decision to rally in Long Island instead of crucial swing states has stirred both Republican enthusiasm and Democratic ridicule. Republicans claim this 'battleground island' can significantly impact GOP control of the House, while Democrats dismiss it as a waste of campaign resources. What do you think about Trump focusing on blue state territories rather than traditional battlegrounds? Can Long Island really boost GOP prospects, or is it a miscalculation? Share your thoughts!
