This April Fools, I thought it was only fitting that I finally share the greatest powerpoint I ever made while working a mentally and physically draining fulltime retail job at 18. This is my pride and joy. I hope you enjoy <3

I should try and draw actual scenes from my fics/AUs more, I feel like most of my drawings are just people standing there

People should draw fat faces, fat necks, and fat arms more often. I see drawings of fat characters or weight gain sequences and the arms and faces stay inexplicably thin (or like the slightest little double chin on a 500+lbs character). I love thick double chins and big plush arms as much as I love bellies and hips and thighs, and it makes me sad that they're left out of fat art.

If someone is prefers their partners be smaller/skinnier than them, and they’re talking about why they’re attracted to someone or what they enjoy about those partners, they’re probably going to talk about picking that person up, or when that person wears their oversized clothes, or how easy it is to put their arms completely around that person. That isn’t inherently fetishizing or dehumanizing, it’s how physical attraction works.
If someone prefers their partners be notably muscular, and they’re talking about why they’re attracted to someone or what they enjoy about those partners, they’re probably going to talk about that person’s physical capability, and bear hugs, and being picked up or moved around. That isn’t inherently fetishizing or dehumanizing, it’s how physical attraction works.
If someone prefers their partners be fat, and they’re talking about why they’re attracted to someone or what they enjoy about those partners, they’re probably going to talk about the fact that that person is fat. They are going to talk about soft tummies and soft thighs. They are going to talk about cuddles, and the soft squishy body, and the characteristics that come from being fat. That isn’t inherently fetishizing or dehumanizing, it’s how physical attraction works.
If we’re talking about some rando leaving graphic comments on stranger’s pictures or whatever, then yeah, that’s weird regardless of body type or appearance, but getting twisted into knots about people expressing attraction to plus-sized bodies in a way that is unique to the attraction to plus-sized bodies is... wild.
Fetishization specifically refers to the reduction of a human being to a selection of assumed characteristics they may or may not possess. It is the act of treating a human being like a trope. Saying that a fat person looks like they give nice hugs isn’t fetishizing, it’s attraction, and it’s normal.

this fucking course is such bullshit the damn online test thing just tested me for an entirely different topic (that i was unable to access), nitpicked my wording for no reason (i entered "safety/cut resistant gloves". the 'correct' answer? "gloves". ffs.), and marked me as wrong on one question bc whoever built the shitty 3d section of the test made the mistake THAT THE TEST IS SUPPOSED TO BE TEACHING US NOT TO MAKE. IN A 3D MODEL NOT EVEN A REAL BUILDING CHRIST ON A STICK. the human instructor is fucking amazing but this new online-based curriculum is shitty and half-assed as fuck.

I haven't seen every season of Drag Race, but I have watched most of the US episodes, and most of those I have watched in the past 4 months. So I feel comfortable saying this week's episode was the worst the show has ever had.
#the editing was godawful#the writing was shit#the balance has been so off all season as far as featuring the contestants#I dont understand why they bothered to use the title and names from last year's acting challenge when this had not one thing to do with it#i wish someone had at least pointed out that Fancy is STILL a Reba reference#as much as the eliminations have been cleaning house of white twinks they are still giving pass after pass to one in particular#who should have gone home on Snatch Game#and most of all I am SO angry about the way that argument was resolved#as a lifelong doormat watching Malaysia be talked into believing she was being a stick in the mud during their harmless fun and games#INFURIATED ME#Because NO#people who grab whatever they can WHETHER THEY WANT IT OR NOT#just because they know most people are accommodating enough to keep the peace even if it means personallly losing out#are people I have learned to stay the fuck away from because they will take advantage of you every chance they get#and obviously we are only seeing what the edit decides to air in the 20 seconds each queen gets to speak each week#but Malaysia refused to let them steamroll the rest of the cast just because they had the loudest brashest voice in the room#and I will not accept her being set up in a 'both sides' narrative for doing so#i will say that it was super shady for the third group to take advantage of that power struggle to claim hip hop without anyone elses input#and I wish that had come up too#no one asked you ms p

I want to see a modern day american bandstand i feel like it would do relatively well i think it maybe could stand a chance if done right
#like it kinda hits the niche that lets plays hit where you watch people doing x its about music and like dances made for those music#if you go early days route it can be about the people who dance on it like the regulars they had in the early days#i think making that a bigger aspect would be something people would be interested in not like reality tv wise#but the appeal of regulars getting to know them the whole like parasocial aspect of it all like for better or for worse#its an aspect that tv film and now social media in general had and can kinda rely on and im not saying its right#but it would mosy likely happen and producers wouldnt be mad abt it anyways#it was abt the now whats young whats hot whats hip#and it had major social impacts#i think it would be interesting to see teens/young people have that kinda spot in media#cause its just a differnet world from online culture#and people made their breaks on bandstand#obvi theres a lot too it and nothing would be perfect and it might work in theory and fail in practice but its interesting to think about#cause it feels as social media grows the like distinctness of like teen culture fades#like its always refered to in the context of social media and how that interacts with traditional media#which is important since theyre now so intertiwned but it feels less prominent to see the two discussed seperatly#and it obvi connects with the lack of real physical spaces teens and young people are allowed to occupy and be in#its just interesting to think about if it makes sense

and yeah, it's rap - because hip-hop wasn't the term until later on
where it started
youtube
and how it's going, just because i love this book from last year:

As someone who grew up living under a rock in the early 2000s and was completely lost on what hip-hop and rap was good until earlier this year I would absolutely support a crash course playlist
Best listened to on shuffle. Very NSFW, including some lyrics from A Different Time. Tried to focus on the essentials and then a few noteworthy personal favorites. Look below the cut for some commentary on what’s what ⬇️

*this playlist is subject to change, and since it’s original posting has already been edited to add Beastie Boys, Salt N Pepa, and MF DOOM

simon’s work wife
one — two — three — four
people start calling u simon’s work wife and he takes it literally. starts referring to you as the ‘missus’, your cheeks warming as his heavy hand rest on your hips to pull you into him.
he’s snarling at one of the recruits that stared at you a little too long for his liking, caging you in against his big ass frame. that same recruit later coming to you a stuttering mess, apologizing because he didn’t know you were married.
you aren’t, but you’re too shocked to comment on it.
and when you confront simon he just shrugs his shoulders lazily, staring at you with darkened eyes as he mumbles, “ya’ didn’t deny it.”
it ends with you moving in, you aren’t sure how it started—or if you were even in an actual relationship but everywhere and anywhere you go he’s calling you his wife.

I think it’s funny because the same people who say this will turn around and go “I love this song about murdering my neighbours so my dead girlfriend can come back to life!” and “I love listening to this album where a man makes a deal with the devil to kill a thousand evil men to bring back his girlfriend!” and “I listen to (genre known for being shocking and talking about dark topics)!” and “I listen to a song that literally talks about committing suicide!” and the favourite “My favourite artist is a raging bigot and I still listen to them Idc if they’re problematic <33” but when Eazy E sings about killing people, hiding bodies and when any rapper talks about the benign fucking, now all of a sudden “Rap is all about sex, money and drugs” “Rap is so bad”.
I relate to so much of this post as a black person on the internet😭
a lot of people are dismissing the "violent" rap music rushing and scrambling to say well not ALL rap is violent here's some rappers who don't rap about violence but like. idk. I think the "violent" rap is important to listen to as well. do you know why gangs exist? do you know why Compton is the way that it is? can you listen to the experiences of black men when you can't personally relate on any level? or will you dismiss an entire genre of music because certain sub genres make you feel a bit uncomfortable as a non-black person?
