God, I was left with a lot of expectation and hope for this character .

Been looking at PLZA theories and speculations, so here's my own two cents.

Buckle up, kids. In this essay, I will...

Explain that you can't have a game set in Kalos feat. AZ & Floette without the Ultimate Weapon. Let's say the Urban Redevelopment Project is being used by our potential villain(s) to accomplish their goals under the radar. Do they want to become immortal by being within its radius? Bring back someone from the dead? Or perhaps wish to wipe an entire region off the map? Are they working alone, or is someone else manipulating them and using their power and influence to get what *they* want, since they wouldn't be able to on their own?

Whichever the case, the Ultimate Weapon *needs* Pokémon as a power source. *A lot* of Pokémon. It sure would be convenient to have a full supply of "wild" Pokémon available in the City to harvest at their leisure. No one would notice them missing. They're meant to be captured, after all. Perhaps these strange disappearances are investigated by Looker & Emma, especially if people's Pokémon begin to vanish as well (the aforementioned "incidents" occurring in the City). And hey, if those Pokémon aren't enough, there's always that peculiar Floette said to have lived for thousands of years. She could probably recharge the Ultimate Weapon as many times as desired. All the villain(s) need to do is lure her away from AZ. They could do it themselves, or enlist the aid of a certain rival that just happens to live and work there, and is just so, so happy to support their boss with whatever he needs.

Secret villain Urbain/Taunie and my life is yours. Seriously, their names are literally a reference to the Project. It is time, GameFreak. Everyone and their mothers suspect Jett & Vinnie, it would be perfect.

Anyway.

You may be wondering what purpose will Xerneas and Yvetal serve in the meantime? In X and Y, the Legendaries were used by Team Flare to start up the Ultimate Weapon (unlike AZ who didn't need them). There's any number of ways for them to return (Hoopa shenanigans, XY Protag released them, there's more than one, etc.), and since this is a Legends game, both will be available. If one villain wishes to revive a beloved companion, they may be after Xerneas. The other wishing for death and destruction will have their sights on Yvetal. Just like with deciding to team up with the Diamond/Pearl Clan to ultimately determine if Dialga or Palkia are caught first, it will be up to the player to decide what order they want to rescue the Legendaries in.

It doesn't really matter though, since the lives of people and Pokémon will be at stake regardless of player choice. That's where Zygarde comes in, except this time Squishy is not our friend. All of Lumiose City *will* be destroyed if Complete Form Zygarde isn't stopped from trying to clean up the true villain's mess (by creating an even bigger one, of course). It's up to you, the player, to deform Voltron and save the day. Maybe with a little villain redemption while everyone takes shelter in Hotel Z....as a treat.

As a bonus, it's revealed that the reason Zygarde took an interest to you at the start (aside from being the Chosen One™️) is that you remind them of the XY Protag aka your half-sibling. I see you, Sycamore and Grace. I see you.

Anyway that concludes this essay. It's too cool of a concept to be canon because they're all cowards, but damn if it wouldn't be incredible, game-of-the-year material.

I think what many Pokemon Legends game ideas get wrong, i think at least, is using a legendary for the name of the game, like "Legends kyurem" or "Legends Zygarde". Many times people use the third legendary of the main three for the title, but Giratina wasn't the one to get a Legends game, in fact it would have made more sense to have a Legends Giratina as a parallel to platinum, since it released with the Sinnoh remakes.

The one who got the spotlight was another important, but not heavily featured pokemon, Arceus, a mythical pokemon. So I think there's a higher chance for the next Legends game to feature a mythical with predominance. In Legends Arceus there was also many mythicals that we could catch without needing special events, making them more acessible, so maybe the Legends series will in general make mythicals more acessible?

I was thinking of a Kalos Legends game and I think Pokemon Legends Hoopa would be the best choice, it can teleport you back in time with it's rings, without the need for Arceus intervention. In ORAS because of Hoopa's rings we can catch legendaries from other regions and their themes aren't updated because they're supposed to be from the older games' timelines, this happens in USUM too, so I believe Hoopa is too interesting to not use.

Diancie and Volcanion should also appear, Volcanion has so little lore, the most interesting thing it has is the fact that in the southern part of the Kalos region, Volcanion is revered, people believe that a steam explosion caused by Volcanion created the plain where they live. This probably references the region of Occitania, the mountainous region that covers most of southern France and whose regional flag Volcanion takes its design from, which is really cool.

Diancie could also be integrated in the plot, maybe instead of her needing to make a new Diamond Heart for the Diamond Domain, the very first Diamond Heart could be made, or Diancie can be born, either works. Diancie is said to have been born from a Carbink that had undergone a mysterious mutation, the mutation could be related to the main story somehow.

In fact, I thought about a villain that wants to make everyone immortal, thinking it will create a Utopia, their plan will fail but create consequences in the region. Since Xerneas/Yveltal wake up every thousand years, I imagined the story would take place one thousand years before the events of X and Y, and the region would be medieval themed.

For Unova, it has no mythical with reality bending abilities and I sadly can't imagine anything except a Legends Kyurem, how is Victini, Meloetta or Keldeo going to hold an entire game like Arceus did? Genesect wasn't even created until recent events in the Pokemon world.

Because each mythical of Unova has a piece of history, it's hard to choose just one, they complete each other in a way

Some people speculutate on Johto remakes because of the many hints towards johto relevancy, and I think the Mythical main pokemon theory fits for Johto! Legends Celebi could work

I hope someone sees this theory and uses it for imagining new pokemon stuff or coming up with a Unova Legends game since I couldn't. I think a medieval, victorian, or early to middle 20th century Unova game would be really good, specially because if it were to be medieval, it could make kinda what Arceus made with Team Galactic and make Team Plasma into real knights, the Unova region has lots of medieval stuff and I think it's even better than Kalos for a medieval game

Why we consider future Lumios instead of past Lumios

-the trailer is posed as a high-tech simulation, enough that the pokemon aren't even colored in except for their type markers.

-nothing is obviously old enough to fit it's expected dates of at earliest 1853 such as older car models or buggys.

-it would thematically fit both it's title of Z-A but also against it's predecessor game Arceus being very past-focused. The Last to the First which would make room for a future setting.

-This would then help promote any coming Gen 5 remake/remaster/sequel since past/future was one of the things highlighted in Opelucid and BC/WTH between versions.

-As a redevelopment of Lumios it shows nothing of whatever is previously before, which could point to a past setting but also a future one following the first Lumios' blueprints.

-If Legends regards the pokemon as the center over the time period than Z of course stands for Zygarde as it's prominent one, like LA was Arceus. Assuming than that the cause for it's awakening might be the second firing of the ancient weapon and awakening of X/Y form the XY games.

-They showed no regional forms as of this point that could go either direction.

-At this time, we know nothing about the rest of Kalos, only Lumios is highlighted for it's Redevelopment.

REASONS AGAINST

-if Legends regards a state of time than the past is the only setting available and they have not chosen during the Kalos War. Legends almost entirely refers to something already over, a legend-in-the-making is for things that have yet to be.

-Redevelopment looks like modern Lumios, pointing to whatever is before it as a past form of Lumios which fits it's time period as the estimated Rebuilding of Paris.

-it's 2024 and of course they're gonna upgarde the graphics yet again from the 3ds to the Switch hence the simulation style

-They showed no regional forms that could hint at past or future.

-It's Z-A moniker could be a rebalancing of forces between people and pokemon as Zygarde's title of Order mentions over anything relating to Time.

-Kalos has no time manipulation pokemon for redoing space-time bubbles but it does have Hoopa for transport, either of us to somewhere else or other pokemon to Kalos.

-At this time we have no clue about the rest of the region, if it will be involved.

What I imagine the in a nutshell chat shenanigans during the Pokémon Movies are in the Streamer Ash AU.

First movie: Actual chaos because wtf is going on. Also chat gets traumatized when Ash legit dies for a moment.

Second movie: Also pretty much chaos, but also members of the chat realize that the prophecy is referring to Ash the actual person so now Ash is known as the kid and actual prophecy is about.

Third movie: Everyone is terrified of Unown now. (Also referencing the entire Larvitar arc, imagine if due to Unown being bullshit chat is able to see Larvitar's mindscape. And like, in their memories whilst Ash's phone is colorized, his screen is grey scale because people.)

Fourth movie: Someone realizes Sam is Professor Oak from the past at the end of the events of the movie and promptly tells everyone. Also everyone has a new appreciation for Celebi and Suicune. And Celebi's temporary death sure was traumatic!

Fifth Movie: Everyone is traumatized by Latios's death and it fucking shows.

Sixth movie: So the fake Groudon was certainly a thing. A thing everyone is glad was dealt with VERY QUICKLY.

Seventh movie: Due to Deoxys destroying the power supply chat did not know anything that was happening until the very end when the robots went berserk and now they have questions.

Eighth movie: Good news. Aura guardians now know Ash has a powerful aura and thus can help train him. Bad news, the entire thing at the Tree of Life is traumatizing as fuck.

Ninth movie: Chat is screaming at Ash to have a sense of self preservation, and also Manaphy is now the favorite Mythical Pokémon of many people.

Tenth movie: During the distortion bubble everything was cut out, but afterwards chat was filled in and now people have a new appreciation for the Darkrai species.

Eleventh movie: Shaymin's sass promptly becomes a meme, Giratina becomes wildly respected upon everyone learning this Legendary is ensuring their world doesn't break apart, and that's about it.

Twelfth movie: Chaos and confusion and chat becomes concerned upon realizing Ash, Brock, Dawn, and Sheena accidentally rewrote the timeline.

Thirteenth movie: Plus side. Grings' control over the news via editing is very hampered by real time streaming. Bad news, dude knows this and is actively trying to suppress this and kill Ash.

Fourteenth movie: Everyone was so, SO HAPPY when Victini was revealed to be alive.

Fifteenth movie: The general reaction is "So, that certainly happened didn't it?" And also there's a new wave of respect and fear of Kyurem.

Sixteenth movie: The reveal of a second Mewtwo gave long time watchers flashbacks, and also the one friendly Genesect quickly gets declared a bean.

Seventeenth movie: Pikachu's temporary death gave everyone trauma again. Also there's a new appreciation for Diancie.

Eighteenth movie: Everyone has decided Hoopa needs therapy after everything that happened.

Nineteenth movie: Everyone is happy that when everything was said and done things were relatively calm.

Twentieth and twenty-first movies: All chat knows is that things happened and that they'll be given the basics later.

Yeah these seem pretty accurate. Apart from 19 because that's the Volcanion and Magearna movie and giant death ray powered by Robot Soul is not at all calm. Though in the case of the final three movies (I Choose You, Everyone's Story and Koko), they're blatantly noncanon to the main timeline and thus also blatantly noncanon to the Streamer Timeline (unless I can find somewhere to sneak ES and Koko in, but given how heavily ICY relies on being an alternate interpretation of Indigo League it's definitely out)

Also there may be butterfly effects from the Streams being a Thing that affect what exactly happen in the movies, especially the later ones.

I can imagine that the other legendaries may have some amount of fun at the Hero’s expense sometimes. They are legendaries after all… why not mess around with their ‘speedruns’ (after sufficiently punishing Darkari for the first bit of chaos anywho before letting them go back to their duties).

Kyogre and Groudon settling beef by making half the planet more monsoonal while the other gets more hot and desert like.

Eturnatus, Xerneus and Necrozma turn on Dynamax, Z-Moves and Mega Evolution for a few runs

Hoopa and a few other mythical taking bets on the Hero’s successes or failures

With the only one trying to actually assist the hero now being Dialga when they aren’t being forced to go crazy for the sake of time being messed up.

Like, imagine the potential of Dialga knowing the Hero when they first meet… trying to actively help them, tell them Arceus and the other legendaries are messing around and how to stop this Dugtrio Day scenario but is forced into their Primal state as the time gears keep on being moved out of the tower every loop.

Maybe Giratina is a sort of ‘mysterious benefactor’ of sorts and helping the Hero and Partner slowly piece together what’s going on.

Buuuuuut that’s just my own take away into this AU. Caio

Sorely tempted to write up a Dugtrio Day oneshot or maybe outline an AU myself if the lovely anon who started this awesome chain of ideas is chill with it. Giratina as a mysterious benefactor is brilliant, and I love the idea of Palkia also chipping in after Dialga is forced into Primal-ness. Those three don’t like each other, but they are ultimately loyal to one another. Like— Everybody stop picking on the mortal, that’s Dialga’s mortal, stop being mean to the poor thing! Don’t make me come over there! HOOPA STOP TELEPORTING THEM TO RANDOM LOCATIONS EVERY TIME THEY BLINK IT’S NOT FUNNY

I wonder if Celebi would have memories completely unaffected by the loop like the hero’s are, or at least partially. It would be interesting for her to do research on how to break the cycle but lose crucial memories with each run, almost to the point of feeling like it’s one step forward and two steps back.

Oh man, imagine being the partner in this story. Like, your best friend eventually tells you that they’ve lived through the last year / whatever length of time hundreds of times, and with every restart, you forget who they are, and they have to go through everything all over again. You hear that and you instantly decide that this run— whatever number it is— is going to be the last.

You start doing everything you can to prevent your friend from restarting the loop, try begging and bargaining and everything you can think of, but they’re so worn down and resigned that the only joy they can find in things is seeing how fast they can can get them done. They continue on their mission. You drag your feet, and eventually, you stop entirely. You decide that if your friend has lost hope, you have to find a way to give it to them, and you set off to find a way to break the loop yourself. You miss them so much, and it’s a race against the clock, but you finally figure out the solution, and you’re just about to activate it when—

Pokémon Legends Z-A Expectations

I can't stop thinking about it, so I thought I'd share my thoughts

• Considering Legends Arceus delt with Sinnoh's myths and legends, including event pokemon if you have the proper game data, I feel like we'll see that again in this game.

• Due to there being a theory about carbink evolving into Diancie, our player character might be the one to witness it, or at the very least see Diancie amongst a group of carbink.

• I think replacing time-space distortions will be worm holes from Hoopa's rings, and there might be a quest where we have to bind Hoopa.

• Depending on how far back this takes place, we might encounter Volcanion in some ancient steam works where Magearna may also be encountered, making a reference to the movie, but that may be wishful thinking.

• Because we're building Lumiose City, there may be sub-quests tied to the main quest where you have to catch a certain amount of a specific pokemon to finish construction
