This is now my blog for any Redwall themed tournaments I feel like doing or that anyone else may suggest. Best Villain and Most Tragic Death have been done elsewhere but anything else is fair game.

Lord Brocktree vs. Marlfox Winner: Marlfox
The Long Patrol vs. Mariel of Redwall Winner: Mariel of Redwall

🍓🧃🌿 :3
🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?  oohhh unofficially when I was really young I was SUPER into Discworld (obviously) and also Redwall, which I had been into on a special interest level for many many years. my first technical fanfiction was hand-written in a reporter's notebook, and it was a Redwall-Discworld crossover with Teatime from Hogfather in Redwall, teaming up with the foxes from Marlfox lmao. I was super into the Redwall villains in general and super into Teatime, so yeah. I can't tell you a thing about it, but that was it!
🧃 ⇢ share some personal lore you never posted about before personal lore!! let me thinkkkk 🤔 I used to be a moderator on the RPG (rping basically) board of one of the big Pokemon forums back in the day - Pokemasters! I modded that place for years, and I spent so much of my teen and older life on there, met some really good friends, some of whom I've met irl a bunch of times - including one time at MCM Expo in London where we all laid in a pile on the hotel bed and recited the entire pokedex one after the other.... nerrrdssss eheh.
We had SO much drama on that forum tho, holy shit. One time, one of the mods got hacked and the hacker went through and deleted whole long threads one by one across any boards she had mod privileges in, so I had to spend HOURS in first year of uni helping to restore them all, it was hell.
🌿 ⇢ give some advice on writer's block and low creativity My usual method for writer's block is honestly brainstorming or shooting the shit with friends! I take inspiration from a lot of things like music, random art pieces, random ass thoughts and those all help as well. Also about 70% of the time if I'm blocked on a scene, it often means it's come to a natural end and when I use my "skip the damn scene already!!!" method, it fixes it all!
I feel like for low creativity, it's good to;
a) let yourself have space from creating to let yourself get the energy back (think of that metaphor of farmers letting fields go to fallow between seasons)
b) experience creative things in other ways, such as reading books, watching films, playing video games etc. - just soaking up other art forms can be really helpful for your creative brain! If you can manage it, try to think about what it is that draws you to that thing, about how you could recreate that in your own works. If you're a writer, use it as a free-writing exercise with no pressure whatsoever, just noodling around
c) maybe try pick up a creative hobby in a different discipline than you're used to working in - it helps to stretch your brain and work different creative muscles if you feel like you want to! Being into multiple creative hobbies is one of my own most helpful things, because I always want to create things, and it gives me variety
d) but the most important: try to forgive yourself! Don't pressure yourself or feel guilty for it, everyone goes through the same thing at multiple points in their life. You've gotta be nice to yourself, don't rush things - they say creativity is like a muscle, you gotta let it rest if it's strained or injured, you know? You wouldn't be mean to someone with an injury, so think of it in a similar way.

used the allograph mod to turn my coq marlfox character's look description to the poem from the redwall marlfox book
brian jacques there's a lot i can say about redwall and its incredibly simplistic morality and how my frustration with it is what lead me to take my own writing more seriously, and marlfoxes in the book themselves are the lamest most saddest babies ever, but gosh you came so close to making something cool i can't stop wanting to be one anyway

Yesterday I made a discovery. A revelation. I've been running a Pathfinder game based in Dark Souls for my friends, loosely following the first game's plot, supplemented with plot details and story beats from the excellent Daughters of Ash mod to make a more interactive story.
However, the more casual ttrpg session does not lend itself to long, solemn wanderings and serious characters with small glimpses of levity through a Sky of oppressive clouds. The game is escapism, and lends itself well to frivolity and strokes of luck that enable goofy plans.
Which led me to understand myself better, and no matter how much I adore Tolkienesque high fantasy and somber, quiet Fromsoft apocalyptia, in my heart that's not the fantasy world that shaped me.
My campaign is a filter of furries away from being Redwall. The common mook still able to speak is not wicked or vile, but humanly unintelligent and honest, fully capable of kindness but terribly gullible or uncritical of their commanders (also they have default vermin lingo and voice patterns). I keep letting the party just lie their way through situations by having the encounter start off on neutral ground, with them holding all the cards or just going unnoticed by the powers behind the scenes.
Lesser villains are not all cold, noble, and half-mad. They're curt, reasonable, distinctly Not Good but still understandable in their actions. Only one major boss has been a zero dialogue machine. There's a degree of cunning in the inhuman Hellkite Drake that harries the party.
Any friendly settlement or camp they crossed was met with good cheer, exchanges of gifts, and a feast.
Three side characters were just Benjy, Wincey, and Figgs from the Bellmaker.
Their NPC buddy Oscar is really just Martin the Warrior. Noble, stoic, a true friend perfectly willing to play along with the gremlin's tricks or defer to the expert's knowledge.

These damned monkeys are raiding our pantry (why can they use doors???) and one of them made the mistake of attacking one of our children, little Meadow. Note: The blood is not Meadow's. The mouse with the axe is not the cause of the blood. Meadow is a beast of a child. No mercy.

really want legends viewer to work for the new dwarf fortress
currently you can export everything needed except map and population data, and all i want is access to family tree which just needs the data we can currently export, but legends viewer wont let me proceed without the other files for some reason
so im nick naming every 'dwarf' (im playing the redwall race mod so its actually mice) a family name to keep track of who is related to who... but over half my fortress is related to each other and theres no easy way to distinguish a cousin from a 3rd cousin etc at the moment, and even new migrants to fortress are related in some way...
tried legends browser too which is a rewrite in Go, but it doesnt have the graphs and subsequently the family tree one

Fictional Weapon War Round 3
Tumblr media
Gungnir (Symphogear)
Comes from a spear owned by Odin that is said to never miss and always kill its target
Fragments of this gear are imbedded in the area near Hibiki's (the user) heart
Every time she activates the system, the fusion between her body and it increases
This also caused Hibiki to sometimes enter a berserker rage
Can be used as a sword, but mainly serves as a lance or spear
Can clone itself and spin like a drill to create tornados or whirlwinds
Baby 5 (One Piece)
Baby 5 is a member of the Donquixote pirates
The devil fruit she ate, Buki Buki no Mi, lets her transform all or parts of her body into weapons
This includes a giant sword, a sickle, a pistol, a rifle, a cannon, and even a missile
If her body is broken apart by the weapon she turns into (like a bomb exploding) then her body will reform
Martin the Warrior's sword (Redwall)
Used to maintain peace and defend Redwall Abbey from foes
Has been passed down to many mice (?)
Mod comment:
Sometimes, I think the Piecemaker matchups are funny just because it's such a big weapon in comparison to most of the other contestants. This is next level though.
Also, I did not start Symphogear. I chose to watch Black Clover.
