Day 12: Time Travel

“Sooooo Phantom, do ya have any siblings?” Kid Flash asked as he tried to make small talk with the newest recruit to the team.

A few days ago, Young Justice was called to a meeting by Batman where he introduced their new team mate, Phantom. Phantom was a tough looking dude, he was jacked and towered over them all, even Conner!

Batman didn’t give them much information about the guy but apparently John Constentine was the one who suggested him for the team since he needed “community service hours”.

The dude was currently drinking some soda next to the computer as Red Robin searched for any new info on their latest mission. He turned his attention away from the can, and stared at Wally, his red eyes piercing into his soul.

“Why?” 

“Well we are all about to go on a mission together and none of us really know you so I think it’d be best if we all got to know you better,” that was half true. Mostly Wally was just being nosey, but the dude really did make everyone nervous since he was this really tough dude with blood red eyes and apparently was here because John Constentine said he needed community service hours???? Constentine typically say some wild shit, but what the fuck do you mean by community service? Wally knows you can’t use those for school, he’s tried, and what else gave you community service? Juvie and prison!!

Phantom stared at him hard for a few seconds, his eyes searing into the back of Wally’s skull before saying, “Okay fine”.

The answer surprised everyone in the room, I mean the guy had barely even spoken the last few days and had rejected every question about his personal life.

“Depending on how you see it, I have 2 to 4 siblings”

“Is your father a serial adopter too?” Tim joked.

“Yes and no”

“Huh?” 

“It’s pretty complicated,” Phantom shrugged, seemingly deciding to end the conversation there and taking another swig of his drink.

However, Tim, out of annoyances of every attempt to get to know this jerk being thwarted and a bit of confidence his family was more complicated, decided to challenge Phantom’s statement.

“Ehh, it probably isn’t as complicated as my family, we got about 50 more siblings adopted each month, all with lots much trauma”

At this, Phantom narrowed his eyes at Tim.

“I see what your doing, your trying to get me to talk tell you guy more about my family by acting like yours are more insane”

“Am I?” Tim asked, trying to hide the shivers going down his spine from the way Phantom was staring at him.

Phantom to a huge swig of his soda, emptying it and throwing it into the garbage, before fully turning to Tim.  

“You’re lucky I am always good for competitions, now sit down this is going to take a bit”

Tim gladly obliged and soon everyone sat around Phantom as if it were storytime in kindergarten.

“Okay, so at first I only had an older sister and my parents” Phantom began, “but then they died because of a mistake I made and I had to move in with my evil godfather”

Megan raised her hand and asked, “Isn’t a godfather someone who is very close to the family? Why would your parents choose an evil person?”

“‘Cause my dad was oblivious to this and though they were good friends even though the dudes tried to kill him multiple times”

“I see,” Megan lowered her hand, no less confused.

“There I went mad with grief and had him remove my humanity and tried to kill all of humanity”

“I think that was a bit of an overreaction,” Wally joked.

“You tried to kill all of humanity? Why weren’t we told of this when it happened?” Kaldur'ahm asked.

“That was in a different timeline, I was a big enough problem that they gods tried to kill the younger version of me to stop me, so to avoid dying, my younger version decide to try to defeat me and the only reason he did was cause I was underestimating him,” Phantom emphasized the last part because he had to stress he didn’t not lose to a 15 year old boy because he was weaker than him.

“What happened next?,” Artemis asked, completely inraptured in the story.

“I was then imprisoned for sometime before escaping, causing problems and then realizing that causing younger mean the same pain I experienced won't bring my loved ones back,” Phantom continued to explain, “so I am now going to therapy, doing community service, and got the majority of my powers taken away”.

“Is your therapist open to seeing new patients?” Konner asked.

“No, but this timelines version of my sister is and she has a lot of experience so I can give you her number instead”

“Sure, that’ll work”

“Okay,” Phantom said before writing her number down and handing it to Konner, “The thing is I can’t go back to living with my real parents because they don’t know that I am Phantom so I have to go back to living this timelines version of my godfather”

“You gotta be kidding me” Tim groans.

“Exactly what I said!!” Phantom put his arm up defensively, “Fortunately, this version is a little better, he is no longer tiring to kill my dad and has stopped chasing after my mom, he did clone the other of me and now there is a genderbent version of him but my godfather treats her like a princess and will not stop spoiling her, which I am also guilty of”

Phantoms continues to explain more and in the back of Tim's mind he remembers he was supposed to be doing something but honestly this conversation was too good to care.

“Anyways that's how I technically have 2 to 4 siblings, Jazz and Elle are permanently my sisters and I love them so much, and even though the other Jazz is technically the same as this Jazz, I still think of her as someone else, someone I miss dearly. Also if I considered this Jazz my sister, I guess I’d have to considered the other me as my brother”

“Damn bitch your family is crazy” Wally said, happy he finally managed to get through Phantom’s tough skin.

As they finished up their storytime, the Zeta-tubes activated and Red Tornado and an upset looking Batman walked to the group.

“You all were supposed to leave thirty minutes ago”

My friend asked me to do a Tigress × Dream Tiger (Concept character that blew up on Twitter) and let's just say i'm intrigued to do that, even tho it's 2 A.M.

Wy'ld, The Red Claw.

A fully Blooded Huntress who has gathered quite the reputation among her fellow hunters for having killed a Xenomorph Queen during her Chiva. There's many specualtions among Yautjas she could become soon an Elite, due to her impressive throphy collection, yet she doesn't show that much interest in the title as she prefers to travel and hunt on her own and doesn't mingle often with her kind (With only very few exceptions). She only hunts preys she finds 'worthy' as she has an odd soft spot for animals surprisingly. Never judge a book by it's cover as they say.

I dont get how people think that wally is gonna come back in young justice

They say its because of dick's fever dream in ep 23 and the whole artemis in megan's mental playroom thing in ep 25 (both s3) and like i know the speed force vaguely and whatever

The whole dick not wanting to be part of a team and so getting the bowhunter security team and such, and then the fever dream, and then artemis hugging him and saying how wally will always be fighting with them, and then him becoming part of the team again at the end of the season

And artemis being a hero again, her being tigress, her figuring her life out with will, the whole playroom thing, wally giving her permission to find love again (yes ik it was megan's playroom but artemis was in control of it and also it still doesnt really change it)

They are both about acceptance of his death and moving on and figuring out themselves again

Wally isn't coming back because we see with the two people who were closest to him that they are able to accept the death and move on, and they wouldn't have done those character arcs if they were just going ti bring wally back, so i really dont think he is coming back and i think that it makes more sense if he doesnt come back or else these character arcs would be meaningless

Okay im a stupid idiot and forgot i ended that reading thread. lets do our first post on crimson reign yall 😭

Can I just say how insane it is for me to do my first update for this book 61% of the way through and 14 days into me starting it????? In my defense, I thought I had a reading thread going for it.

For the first 40% of this book, I found the authors writing style incredibly annoying and repetitive. It got so bad at one point I almost put this book on pause so I could read Shadowhunters. As a forewarning, the next few images are excerpts from the book and may contain spoilers. However, nothing else beyond the photos will contain spoilers <3

It's almost as if Amelie forgot that she can write sorta kinda well until 45% of the way through and then once we got the big battle sequence, she forgot how to write again.

Except for one character. Ko Linnet is written especially well across all the novels while most of the other characters annoy me. Most of the other characters are too wishy washy, their evil arc too corny, their redemption arc too soon. Not my sweet Linn. I love her.

Carmen Sandiego (Black Sheep) HC's

Out of all the people in the group, (Tigress, El Topo, Crackle, and Le Chèvre) I'd like to think that she helped them make their codenames though

When she found out El Topo and Le Chèvre were dating (most likely when she had an encounter with them when they tried capturing her), I think she was slightly shocked but then just shrugged it off like "Oh, You guys are dating? Congrats but that does not mean I'm letting you two get me back on that wretched island."

Canonically though, She was a great "model" in that one episode (forgot which season and ep) which makes me think that she might have had a few lessons back as a training V.I.L.E. Operative OR just watched Countess Cleo from afar.

Sheena (Tigress) and her canonically didn't have a good start but I'd like to believe that she was always up for "girl talks" with her (which is just them insulting some other V.I.L.E. operatives or planning to play pranks on the boys)

Antonio (El Topo) is probably the only V.I.L.E. Agent she doesn't exactly insult even after years have gone by, Her and Antonio were probably just chillaxed with each other and were pretty close. I firmly believe that Carmen DIDN'T apologise to him because she left but she made her understand why and he accepted it wholeheartedly since at the end of the show, we see him and Jean-Paul selling in a Taco truck meaning he and him might've already planned not long to change for the better<33

Graham and her are like two peas in a pod or like a bundle package back then, They would always be at each other's back when one of them got in trouble (Mostly it's her who gets in trouble and he feels pity for not having someone with her) Also, Him and her were definitely always talking in class that even most of the professors or the V.I.L.E. faculty found them inseparable from eachother even if they were so far off from their seats.

Mime Bomb and her aren't exactly the closest but I'd like to think he cheers her up sometimes by playing charades, as well as him playing charades with the others while they guessed what he was describing in their free period or lunchtime. He was a tad bit disappointed but he was probably much more loyal to V.I.L.E. now than her :((

Jean-Paul (Le Chèvre) absolutely did NOT like her at first but I believe he started to do so slower than how the others did with her, from "Shut it, Little Lambkins" to "Don't get in trouble, Black Sheep" type of slow. Sure, He didn't exactly accept her leaving all so sudden even with good reason but Antonio may or may not have convinced him to change as well with him. He was all in for pranks but he was probably the "What if we get caught? I am so not going to take the blame for you morons" on the group

I NEED to talk about the stupid ass names that were given for the Miraculous Paris Special in English. Like ya know I can get behind Claw Noir, and Shadybug's not bad (I like Toxinelle more but that's a whole other thing) but then we have the cheesiest name for good Gabe with cussing Betterfly.

The idea of there being a hero version of Gabriel "The Idiotic Asshole" Agreste is already a living joke but then you tack on freakin Betterfly and I just- I'm sorry I can't even think about that without laughing my ass off, like it's just sooooooo dumb.

I know that the French version is Hesperia which (according to the wiki) is either a type of butterfly or could mean "to trust" but it's DEFINITELY more suitable than Betterfly.

But No Thing it sounds similar to Vesperia AND it sounds like a girl's name!!

Ya, ya, ya, I know. I'm not saying they should've gone with that but practically anything would've been better (hehe) than Betterfly.

Anyway, thanks for reading my miraculous rant and I say farewell to thee my fellow existences!

The description:

We can see Mayura pushing Hawkmoth into a table. The despaired Supervillain yells "Traitoress !" and "Help me !". He begs his assistant by saying "I surrender.". Ladybug, Cat Noir and the entire Miraculous have mixed reactions. They are all afraid, worried, uncomfortable about seeing what is happening with Mayura and Hawkmoth.
