- ED trigger warning -
Being skinny ruined my life. If youâre thin and think to yourself, âwhy donât fat people just lose weight?â Please read this
I was the âideal fatâ in the sense that I did everything skinny people wanted me to do. I tried every diet in the book. I exercised regularly. I worked with doctors and dietitians to figure out the best way to lose weight. But nothing worked. I did everything ârightâ to lose weight, and my weight stayed the same
But the thin people in my life kept telling me that I wouldnât be happy, attractive, healthy, etc. until I lost weight. So, heartbroken, I came to the conclusion that anorexia was the only option left. It felt safer than bariatric surgery, and was obviously much more affordable
I became the perfect anorexic. 700 cal a day or less, except once a week I allowed myself 1400 cal. For reference, my body required at least 2800 to maintain weight, and at least 1800 to keep my organs and stuff fully functioning. Still, 700 a day, I persisted because everyone in my life told me weight loss was all that mattered. If dieting didnât work, anorexia had to
And it did. My weight dropped all the way down to 110 pounds. I was skinny - underweight, even - in all sense of the word. The people in my life saw it as a miracle. The ultimate success story. My mother, my âfriends,â my doctors, they all congratulated me on my accomplishment
When I confessed my eating disorder to my doctor, he told me, âthatâs not the best way to go about it, but Iâm glad you lost the weight.â My mother took pictures of me and sent them to relatives to brag
Okay, great. I was skinny. I did what I set out to do. But there were severe consequences
The most obvious was my joint pain doubled, maybe even tripled, to the point that I couldnât leave the house without a wheelchair
I also developed several health complications, including fatty liver disease and extremely painful GERD. I had to see a handful of specialists and get an endoscopy because of severe stomach pain
My partner, who was the only person who saw my weight loss for what it was (a horrible thing that only happened because of an eating disorder), convinced me to enter a recovery program
For nearly a year, I relearned how to feed myself. I ate everything I was told to eat, nothing more and nothing less. My diet was 100% in the hands of somebody else
And I gained back every pound I has lost. All of the work to become thin went right out the window. It was proven to me that thinness and health were incompatible with my body. If I wanted to be thin, I had to forgo my physical and mental well-being. And vise-versa
Prior to the anorexia, I never once struggled with binge eating. I was naturally an intuitive eater, and I did a good job of having a well rounded diet. After the anorexia, after recovery, I developed a binge eating disorder. I had spent so long starving myself, that my brain and body got stuck in survival mode, desperate to consume any and all calories out of fear that I might starve again. To this day I struggle with binge eating
I did everything thin people wanted of me. I dieted. I exercised. And when all else failed, I starved myself. Now I have liver disease, stomach issues, and BED. Not to mention the loads of mental issues that accumulated as a result of my weight loss journey. During the throes of my anorexia, I had to be hospitalized for suicidal ideation
When you tell fat people to âjust lose weightâ you are suggesting they give themselves illnesses for which treatments are not always effective. You are asking fat people to destroy their stomachs and livers. When a fat person loses so much weight that they become skinny, they are likely giving up so much of their health in efforts to be treated like a human being
If youâre thin, do your part. Treat fat people like people before we tear our bodies apart

burgers and milkshakes have literally been proven to increase risks of diabetes, cancer, autoimmune diseases, obesity genes, fatty liver ETC but if it makes you feel better for having a bad diet you do you
I wasnât gonna respond to this, but considering how you clearly missed the mark and didnât realize that the post is pro recovery for eating disorders, I feel like I have too.
Iâve had an eating disorder since I was 11, OSFED to be exact. I have literally been so sick at one point that my spine was showing through baggy clothes and my friends would literally force feed me during lunch. If you want to criticize me for having a bad diet, go ahead, but criticize me for having an eating disorder and not taking care of my body, donât do it by acting like I only eat burgers and milkshakes.
Also, burgers and milkshakes are major fear foods for many people with eating disorders. I am terrified of ice cream and have literally started bawling once when my dad tried to take me to a restaurant where they served milkshakes. You missed the entire point of the post.
You are allowed to enjoy things in life that previously made you terrified, you are allowed to enjoy things that yes, may not be the healthiest for you, but when you have an eating disorder relishing in those moments is one of the key parts of recovery.
Please, educate yourself, thereâs a reason youâre on anon and not commenting from your actual account.

We left the waiting room for multiple reasons after mom learned about the (typical) 2 hour wait time. She was in pain and exhausted, and was worried we'd run into the 6-8pm shift change where no visitors are accepted, my eye was really starting to give me a headache, etc etc.
When we got home, Mom spoke to the nurse who gave her the new room to see him in, possibly tomorrow. Dad made it through surgery fine and they had no issues reversing the anesthesia :) Apparently before the surgery he was almost entirely pain-free, so the pancreatitis is well on its way to healing! He has a wound in his side now, that's going to be sore because they had to go through muscle and such. But he's conscious and doing well, recovering.
Now, for what the doctor said about his gall bladder--
In front of the stomach, liver, and intestines, wrapping around them is a fatty, curtain-like organ called the omentum (there's Greater and Lesser, and more, but specifics aren't important). It plays a role in immune response. When things get inflamed--say, a liver--the omentum clings to those structures and aids in healing.
His pancreatitis had been so severe in affecting other organs it was challenging to maneuver around the omentum to get to the gall bladder. He ended up having to snip away some omentum, but said that dad has so much, it's not going to cause any harm.
What he did was snip the bulbous end of the gall bladder and begin scooping gall stones out. He said dad had at least a hundred stones. A HUNDRED, BB-to-pea-sized gall stones in his gall bladder!!! I thought the nurses had said no scans found any but??
Anyway, so he scoops them all out and then snips as much of the gall bladder out as possible. He wasn't able to remove as much as he usually does, mostly because the omentum was blocking vision so much and they don't want to risk nicking the Common Bile Duct because that'd cause a major complication and require a re-routing procedure, it just wasn't worth the risk. So there's technically still a risk of gall stones forming in the tiny funnel shape that's left at the end of the duct, but it's still safer.
He said dad was very lucky he came in when he did, that this was a very serious case of pancreatitis that could've caused multiple organ failure if left to progress. But the pancreas is now healing and the inflammation has gone down.
They're of course going to keep a close eye on him while the surgical wound heals, and monitor his liver numbers to make sure they didn't miss a stone or see that he's forming more.
He sent both the bit of amputated omentum and the gall bladder off to Pathology just to be sure, but he didn't see anything during surgery that looked tumorous.
They still wanna figure out what the fluid backup is and where it's coming from, but other than that, he should be on the road to recovery!
#missy rambles#missy update#i feel bad saying that I'M exhausted when my dad has been going through so much. but boy am i exhausted

Article Review - The Liver After Quitting Alcohol
Here is a quick summary/reflection on this article:
1. The liver is introduced as the largest internal organ and that it functions to break down toxins like alcohol. When alcohol is consumed excessively (more than 14 units), the liver undergoes the following changes: becomes fatty > healing from inflammation forming scars > many scars forming cirrhosis > liver fails > fatal outcomes. Symptoms associated with liver dysfunction are exhibited at late stages of impact.
2. Quitting alcohol has varying effects, depending on the condition of the liver. At the fatty stage, two to three weeks are sufficient to heal it back to normal appearance and function. For mild scarring/inflammation, a week can show significant improvements in the condition although full recovery may take months. With advanced cirrhosis or liver failure (where the liver is unlikely to cure itself completely), worsening of the condition or death could be prevented if followed through for many years. However, this withdrawal cannot be done suddenly, as it poses physical and psychological dangers and a medical professional has to be involved in planning a safe quitting programme in such cases.
3. Giving up alcohol also reflects benefits beyond the liver and improves outcomes in sleep, brain function and blood health. It also prevents cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Quitting should be integrated with practices like a good diet and regular physical activity to observe the best results.
In conclusion, this article was really insightful as an understanding of the liverâs power. I think anyone interested in the human body would find the authorâs writing to be useful.

How to lose weight conveniently, safely, and quickly
Can't seem to lose weight no matter how much you exercise? Are you afraid of liposuction and not sure if it's safe? Today's product is a Beauty-line solution from the Bijunel series.
Beauty-line solution is a safe lipolysis solution whose main ingredient is L-carnitine.
What is L-carnitine?
Amino acid derivatives
Stored in skeletal and cardiac muscles
Affects heart, skeletal muscle, liver, nerves, and endocrine function
The vitamin B complex carnitine, which contains basic substances produced in the liver, brain, and kidneys, breaks down fatty acids in mitochondria and converts them into energy, helping to promote fat combustion and strengthen muscle exercise.
Who needs to take L-carnitine?
People who lack L-carnitine
People who want to increase weight loss
People who want to improve their athletic ability
People with certain diseases (People with heart disease, diabetes and chronic fatigue syndrome)
Treatment Cycle
It is generally recommended to inject the treatment every 1-2 weeks, depending on its purpose.
Should be noted
⊠01. The suitability of L-carnitine injections for individuals is determined by medical professionals. It should be noted that decisions should be made based on specific requirements and medical history
⊠02. Before you start a treatment, you should always consult with the doctor first.
Benefits
⊠01. Decrease in body fat
The most representative efficacy of L-carnitine breaks down fat. It plays a role in promoting the energization of fatty acids, and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety also acknowledged that L-carnitine helps reduce body fat.
⊠02. Protection of the heart
It is effective in protecting the heart by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation of heart muscle cells. L-carnitine is also used as a treatment for ischemic cardiomyopathy that occurs after myocardial infarction.
⊠03. Improvement of athletic ability
When taking L-carnitine, it plays a role in improving muscle activity by increasing blood flow.
⊠04. Blood sugar control
L-carnitine is a protein hormone that plays an important role in metabolism. It is known to help control blood sugar by improving insulin levels.
Real Q&A
⊠01. Is there an age limit for this procedure?
There is generally no specific age limit for receiving L-carnitine injections. However, it should be noted that the use of L-carnitine injections should be determined on a case-by-case basis and with the guidance of a medical professional. For children or individuals younger than 18 years of age, a pediatrician may evaluate the specific needs, medical history, and potential risks or benefits associated with L-carnitine injections. Alternatively, it is particularly important to consult with your doctor first.
⊠02. As far as I know, lipolysis components have severe side effects, is it safe?
Yes, Hanchung Medical's beauty line solution is made with only safe ingredients and two ingredients. L-carnitine and deoxycholate, are safe and effective ingredients.
L-carnitine: It transfers fatty acids to mitochondria produces energy through oxidation and burns afterward. It accelerates body fat breakdown because it facilitates the process of transporting fat and uses more fat to generate energy.
Deoxycholate: Deoxycholate is effective in reducing fat and cellulite by activating metabolism and converting fat into a water-soluble form, which is then expelled from the body without steroids.
⊠03. Does it have skin sagging side effect after lipolysis injections?
It can if lipolysis injections contain steroids. Continuous exposure to steroids can lead to various side effects such as menstrual irregularities, osteoporosis, skin spasms, and skin atrophy, which are dangerous. In addition, the ingredient of general fat-releasing products is PPC, which has a strong fat-releasing effect, while it has many side effects. Typical side effects include hypothermia, decreased skin elasticity, and a long recovery period.
⊠04. So-called Britney's shot. Is it safe?
The PPC (Polyen Phodphatidy|choline) injection is called the "Britney injection" because it was injected by Hollywood's popular female singer Britney. When fat-dissolving substances extracted from soybeans are injected into fat-rich areas, a substance called deoxycholate activates metabolism. It helps to convert it into water solubility and releases it through sweat, urine, etc. Many plastic surgeons promote PPC injections as safe and simple obesity treatment injections, saying that you can easily select and lose the flesh of the desired area.
Fat Dissolving Injection VS Bijunel Beauty Line Solution VS Liposuction
Decide after you look up the differences between Fat Dissolving Injection, Bijunel Beauty Line Solution, Liposuction
Those who do not want to get a liposuction can try the Bijunel Beauty Line Solution Injection Procedure
Treatment areas
Cheekbone
Thighs
Double chin
Forearm
Abdomen
Thighs
Cheekbones
Just the parts you want! Lightly, slimly, smoothly
What if you felt that normal lipolysis injections had no effect?
Combine these procedures!
Bijunel Beauty line solution Iniection procedure (body) + High frequency
Bijunel Beauty line solution After the injection procedure the process of change
Bijunel Beauty line solution Injection (Face) + In-mode, Shrink
It can be managed with a V-line jawline and a firm and elastic face, and it is to see the combined effect of melting fat by injection and destroying fat cells by in-mod. Each has a different mechanism for reducing fat, so you can expect a better effect when you combine the two than when you combine them with one.

Dandelion/Taraxacum officinale: Overview
Dandelion is a perennial flowering herb that grows from a long taproot.
Its name has been associated with the Persian tark hashgun, which means wild endive.
Rodale's Illustrated Encyclopedia of Herbs, suggests an origin in the Greek taraxos is more likely. Taraxos is a Greek word for "disorder" and as Rodale's writes, akos means remedy.
This is the relationship that humans have kept with Dandelion. It's abundant, nigh unkillable, and easy to identify. The designation officinale refers to Dandelion's inclusion in early apothecaries. Its earliest written virtues are in the Tang Bencao, written during the Tang dynasty.
Dandelion has a history in Europe and the United States, where it's used to treat diseases of the liver and GI tract.
Dandelion is a bitter stimulant with diuretic and laxative properties.
Unlike other diuretics, dandelion does its work without depleting potassium in the body. This is due to the potassium richness of dandelion itself.
Type 2 Diabetes & Dandelion
Diabetes is an endocrine disorder. It primarily affects the pancreas, an organ in the digestive system found in the upper abdomen. The pancreas produces the hormones to control blood sugar, including insulin, glucagon, peptides, and somatostatin. It also makes enzymes essential to the digestion of food.
Diabetes has many risk factors and symptoms, but all types of diabetes involve insulin.
Type 2 Diabetes is characterized by the pancreas no longer making enough insulin to process sugar in one's diet. This can cause disruptions throughout the body, with notable impacts on the heart, liver, and eyes.
Wirngo et. al published "The Physiological Effects of Dandelion (Taraxacum Officinale) in Type 2 Diabetes" in 2016. There they attribute Dandelion's anti-diabetic properties to its "bioactive chemical components." These include "chicoric acid, taraxasterol (TS), chlorogenic acid, and sesquiterpene lactones," they write.
Wirngo et. al. assert that herbal medicine and other traditional medicines have "demonstrated potential to alleviate diabetic symptoms, enable recovery, and improve health." Dandelion does this by fighting inflammation, which can harm tissues throughout the body.
Dandelion's bitter taste is due to "sesquiterpene lactones." These include "taraxacolide, dihydro-lactucin, ixerin D, taraxinic acids, phenyl propanoids, and ainslioside." These constituents have have anti-inflammatory properties. Dandelion's foundational action as a bitter facilitates proper digestion.
Dandelion is so rich with CGA that it is a viable alternative to proprietary antioxidants. CGA itself is anti-diabetic, and it's best in it's natural form according to Wirngo. It also contains high levels of CRA, which combined with other inulin rich herbs such as Burdock Root and Chicory, helps people metabolize fats better.
When we metabolize fats better, it can decrease our cholesterol. CRA can also make us produce more bile, which breaks down fat and helps flush waste from our livers. CRA is also a strong anti-diabetic.
Bile breaks fat down into fatty acids. Fatty acids provide our bodies with a source of energy. Their presence also impacts the body's response to hormones, including insulin.
In fact, the way our bodies work with fatty acids can be very important for individuals with diabetes. This is because many people with type 2 diabetes have insulin resistance. Their bodies may not be able to store fatty acid as easily.
As a result, these fatty acids may deposit in the liver. This can cause Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver disease, which allopathic doctors cannot treat well. They generally just tell patients to lose weight and lower their cholesterol. (Ask me how I know lol.)
According to Sears and Perry, "90Â % of obese type-2 diabetic patients have NAFLD." Even people without diabetes are likely to have NAFLD though, due to poor nutritional options in the United States. They go on to note that researchers expect 50% of Americans to have NAFLD by 2030.
Dandelion is a beautiful medicine for people in this position because it supports the liver and helps lower cholesterol. It does this while also stimulating the metabolism, and aiding digestion. It's highly anti-oxidant and anti-carcinogenic. Dandelion root is also among the vegetables highest in beta-carotene. Beta-carotene becomes Vitamin A in the body.
Vitamin A improves eye function, helps the immune system and keeps our skin healthy. This is essential for people with diabetes, because they are prone to complications with all three, many of them serious.
Dandelion has the potential to ease symptoms of diabetes at low cost.
Specifically, it can lower the cholesterol, which is a major risk factor for the heart and liver complications of type 2 diabetes. This is essential because 80% of people with diabetes live in countries without high incomes.
As Chen et. al report in their article "Income-related inequalities in diagnosed diabetes prevalence among US adults, 2001â2018" the " burden of diabetes falls disproportionately on low-income populations."
In the United States, the people experiencing the strongest correlation between poverty and diabetes are Black and Latina women between the ages of 45-65.
These are the people who have the most to gain from dandelion medicine. It's free in most cases, can be cultivated even in small spaces, and it's cheap. It's identifiable even by children, and abundant nearly everywhere.
Dandelion reduces blood sugar through its caffeic, chicoric, and chlorogenic acid components. It also "effects glucose uptake directly and indirectly" through its "alkaloids, glycosides, amino acids, terpenoids, inorganic ions, steroids, carbohydrates, and galactomannan gum" components.
Importantly, Dandelion has extremely low toxicity.
Dandelion Vinegar
Many diabetics avoid alcohol. If you're not into alcohol, try this vinegar!
Ingredients:
- Fresh dandelion tops
- Fresh dandelion leaves
- Dried dandelion roots
- Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother, if you can get your hands on some)
Directions
1. Clean a glass jar of your choice
2. Sterilize the jar with boiling water.
3. Let the jar dry
4. Wash your fresh ingredients so that they are completely free of dirt and bugs.
5. Grind all ingredients down as fine as you can using a clean coffee grinder, clean blender, or a mortar and pestle.
6. Fill cleaned and sterilized jar up halfway with Dandelion parts.
7. Cover Dandelion parts with vinegar, then fill jar up to 1/2-3/4inch from the top with vinegar.
8. Stir and release any air bubbles
9. Top with a plastic cap. If you have no plastic caps, use parchment paper between the metal of the jar top and the rim of the glass jar.

What Causes High cholesterol ?
The word "high cholesterol" refers to a growth in blood cholesterol levels, which mainly increases the chance of acquiring serious conditions like heart disease and stroke later on. One kind of lipid that the body releases naturally by the liver is cholesterol, which is a waxy, fat-like material. Its synthesis is seriously needed for the synthesis of several hormones, vitamin D, and the outer layer of cells. The liver makes cholesterol, which is mostly composed of fat and protein, to transport cholesterol. They are in charge of transporting triglycerides, another kind of fat, and cholesterol through the circulation. Hyperlipidemia or hypercholesterolemia are other terms for high cholesterol.Â
The Main Causes of High Cholesterol
1. Unhealthy Diet: It includes high carbohydrates, sugar, red meat, high-fat, deep-fried and processed foods, bakery items, etc. Increase your cholesterol levels.Â
An unhealthy diet heavy in trans and saturated fats is one of the main causes of high levels of cholesterol. Among the foods that might increase cholesterol are:
The food is deep-fried.
Hot dogs, sausage, meat, and fatty portions of red meat.
Processed foods, such as white biscuits and bread.
Dairy foods high in fat, such as cheese, milk, and buttermilk.
Baked products, such as cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and cakes.
2. Overweight: The extra fat in your body can be responsible for heart disease in the future.
3. Lack of physical activity: Due to Lack of physical activity puts you at risk of gaining weight and having more fat in your body than muscle. Physical workout helps improve your good cholesterol.
4. Age: This is not as much in your control, however in some cases, irrespective of age or gender, you might have high cholesterol levels.
5. Hereditary: Well, if it runs in the family, donât be surprised if you suffer from high blood cholesterol.
6. Alcohol: If you are indulging in too much alcohol then it increases your cholesterol level and increases the possibility of heart disease.
Consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice based on your specific health condition.Â
Wishing you a swift recovery.

which fruits are bad for liver cirrhosis patient?
A diseased liver may cause any number of serious medical conditions. The liver is a vital system that helps remove waste material and chemicals from the body. A number of fruits are bad for the liver, particularly as participated in. The following ten fruits, if they participate, may cause harm to the liver:
1. Grapefruit: Some drugs' the capacity for the liver to break down them could be damaged by chemicals generated by grapefruit. Alcohol development in the bloodstream can arise from this, which can cause harmful side effects.
2. Papaya: The high natural sugar level in papaya may prove difficult for the liver to digest, especially in people that have diabetes or liver damage.
3. Pineapple: a type of bro, a chemical found in pineapple fruit, can thin a person's blood to keep it from clots. People who use blood-thinning medications or have liver disease may be badly changed by that.
4. Mango: This fruit has a high glycemic index, which means it can quickly raise blood sugar values. This may stress the liver and cause symptoms.
5. Coconut: The high content of saturated oils in coconut might raise cholesterol and stress the liver. Obesity in coconut food can result in fatty liver disease.
6. Dates: Due to their high sugar content, dates can quickly raise blood sugar levels. This may strain the liver and cause obesity, both of which over time may result in liver damage.
7. Cherries: Due to their high level of sugar, cherries can be hard on the liver to handle, specifically for people who already have diabetes or liver disease
8. Persimmons: When consumed in excess, tannins from persimmons can be detrimental to the liver. Cirrhosis and liver damage may result from this.
9. Pomegranate: Compounds found in pomegranates can prevent the liver from effectively breaking down certain drugs. Drug collection in the circulatory system may result from this, which may have harmful side effects.
10. Watermelon: High in sugar, watermelon can be hard on the liver, especially for people with diabetes or liver disease. Consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice based on your specific health condition. Wishing you a swift recovery. https://bit.ly/3O9IhoF

Athletic Performance and Food
The Integral Link Between Diet and Performance
An athlete's diet plays an indisputable role in determining their performance. Just as vehicles need the right type of fuel to function optimally, athletes need the right nutrients to perform at their best. Proper nutrition ensures that athletes can train harder, recover faster, and, most importantly, stay injury-free. As a steadfast advocate for wholesome living, Joel Newman embraces the Athleteâs Diet, maintaining a conscious choice of nourishments.
youtube
Carbohydrates: The Primary Energy Source
Carbohydrates act as the primary source of energy for athletes. These are stored in muscles and the liver as glycogen, which provides sustained energy during prolonged physical activity. To optimize glycogen stores, athletes need to consume a diet rich in carbohydrates, especially in the days leading up to a major event or competition.
Proteins: Building and Repairing Muscles
While carbohydrates fuel the body, proteins repair it. Engaging in sports causes muscle wear and tear. Proteins play a vital role in repairing these damaged muscles and promoting growth. This doesn't mean athletes should consume excessive protein, but they should ensure an adequate and consistent intake as part of their daily diet.
Fats: Essential but in Moderation
While often misunderstood, fats are essential for athletes. They become a significant energy source during endurance sports when the body has depleted its glycogen stores. However, the key is to focus on unsaturated fats and Omega-3 fatty acids while limiting saturated and trans fats' intake.
Hydration: The Cornerstone of Athletic Performance
Even slight dehydration can significantly hamper an athlete's performance, reducing endurance, strength, and speed. Drinking sufficient water before, during, and after exercise is crucial. During prolonged activities, electrolyte solutions can help replace lost minerals.
Vitamins and Minerals: The Micronutrient Boost
Micronutrients might be required in small amounts, but their impact is enormous. Minerals like calcium and iron play crucial roles in muscle function and oxygen transport. Meanwhile, vitamins are essential for energy production and injury prevention. Athletes should prioritize a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains to ensure they receive these essential micronutrients.
Timing Matters
It's not just what athletes eat, but when they eat it. Consuming carbohydrates before an event can optimize glycogen stores. Post-event, a combination of carbs and protein can expedite recovery. This window, often touted as the "golden hour," is when muscles are most receptive to nutrients, speeding up recovery.
Conclusion
The relationship between food and sporting performance is intricate and interdependent. Athletes must view food not just as sustenance but as an essential tool in their arsenal, helping them train harder, recover faster, and perform better. With the right dietary strategies, achieving peak performance becomes a more attainable goal.

Choosing the Best Plant Protein Powder: A Guide to Good Vegan Protein Powders and Organic Greens Powder
In recent years, the demand for plant-based nutrition has soared as more people turn to vegan and plant-based diets. Whether for health, environmental, or ethical reasons, adopting a plant-based lifestyle requires careful consideration of the nutrients you consume. One of the most important components of any balanced diet is protein. For those following a vegan or plant-based diet, choosing the right protein powder can be a challenge, but there are many excellent options available. If youâre on the hunt for the best plant protein powder or good vegan protein powder, this guide will help you navigate your options, while also exploring the benefits of adding organic greens powder to your daily routine.
Why Choose Plant-Based Protein Powder?
What Makes a Good Vegan Protein Powder?
When searching for a good vegan protein powder, itâs important to consider the source of protein, the ingredients, and the overall nutritional profile. The best plant protein powders often blend different types of plant proteins to ensure a complete amino acid profile, which is essential for muscle recovery and overall health. For example, a combination of pea and rice protein is often used to provide a broader spectrum of amino acids, as each protein source complements the other.
Some of the most common and well-regarded plant protein sources include:
Pea Protein: Pea protein is one of the most popular choices because itâs rich in essential amino acids, including branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), which are crucial for muscle repair. Itâs also easily digestible and hypoallergenic, making it suitable for those with food sensitivities.
Rice Protein: Rice protein is a great choice for those seeking a hypoallergenic option. While it doesnât contain as many BCAAs as pea protein, itâs still an excellent protein source and often used in combination with pea protein to create a complete profile.
Hemp Protein: Hemp protein is packed with essential fatty acids, fiber, and amino acids. Itâs not only a good protein source but also provides a dose of omega-3s, making it a great option for overall health.
Soy Protein: Soy protein is a complete protein, meaning it contains all the essential amino acids needed for muscle building and repair. Itâs a great plant-based alternative to whey protein, though some people may prefer other options due to concerns about soyâs potential hormonal effects.
When selecting a good vegan protein powder, you should also check for certifications like non-GMO, gluten-free, and organic labels. These certifications indicate that the product is made with high-quality, clean ingredients, which is especially important if youâre committed to a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.
The Benefits of Organic Greens Powder
In addition to plant-based protein, many people who follow vegan or plant-based diets choose to supplement their nutrition with organic greens powders. These powders are made from a blend of nutrient-rich, green vegetables, such as kale, spinach, spirulina, and chlorella, and are an excellent way to boost your intake of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
Why should you consider adding organic greens powder to your routine?
Rich in Nutrients: Organic greens powders are packed with micronutrients like vitamin C, vitamin K, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. These essential nutrients are often underconsumed in modern diets but are vital for maintaining good health.
Detoxification Support: Many greens powders contain ingredients like chlorella and spirulina, which are known for their detoxifying properties. These algae-based superfoods help remove toxins from the body and support liver health.
Digestive Health: Greens powders often contain digestive enzymes and prebiotic fibers that support gut health. They can help improve digestion, reduce bloating, and provide relief from gastrointestinal discomfort.
Boost Energy Levels: The combination of vitamins, minerals, and chlorophyll in organic greens powder can naturally enhance your energy levels and promote overall well-being.
By incorporating organic greens powder into your diet alongside a best plant-based protein powder, you can ensure that youâre getting a balanced, nutrient-dense intake that supports muscle recovery, immune function, and overall health.
Top Recommendations for Good Vegan Protein Powders
When it comes to selecting the best plant based protein powder, there are a few standout options:
Orgain Organic Protein: This vegan protein powder is made from a blend of pea protein, brown rice protein, and chia seeds, offering a smooth texture and great taste. Itâs also organic, non-GMO, and free from artificial sweeteners.
Vega Sport Premium Protein: Ideal for athletes, Vega Sport offers a comprehensive blend of pea, pumpkin seed, and alfalfa protein. It also includes added greens and probiotics to support digestion and muscle recovery.
Garden of Life Organic Protein: Known for its commitment to clean, organic ingredients, this protein powder combines pea protein with additional superfoods and greens for an added nutritional boost.
KOS Organic Protein: This protein powder combines pea protein, hemp protein, and quinoa, offering a complete amino acid profile. Itâs also packed with organic superfoods like kale and spinach.
Conclusion
Choosing the best plant protein powder or good vegan protein powder is essential for those on a vegan or plant-based diet, ensuring that youâre meeting your protein needs while maintaining a balanced, nutritious lifestyle. Pairing your protein powder with organic greens powder can further enhance your overall health, providing you with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to support your fitness and wellness goals. Remember to look for high-quality, organic products to maximize the benefits of both your protein and greens intake.
