so i gotta move for the third time in that many years. unfortunately between health problems and the General State of The Economy, I have been unable to find work to be able to save any money. i have no choice but to leave the entire state. i thankfully have somewhere to go, however I need help getting there. i've been trying to do the math to get what I need to its lowest amount possible, but even that is still at least $2.5k.

after this move, i should be able to get things more stable and I might even have a couple job prospects lined up in that area, but right now I'm really scraping the bottom of the barrel funds wise and desperately need help.

if you're able to spare anything, i've set up a goal through kofi so i can track it publicly. i have trouble asking for help but i really need what help i can get. thank you, so so so much.

ok hi usually i dont post these kinda things but

recently theres been a discord scam going around and i havent seeeeen anyone bring it up? nor was i able to find a lot of info online about it

essentially, the scammer (using the account of someone you’ve friended OR someone in a server your in) will approach you and tell you that theyve falsely reported you + that your account could be deleted if you dont appeal to discord. this is the message that was sent to me v

and this is a version sent to my friend (the same email screenshot was also included after this message) v

once you reach out to the user listed in the email, they’ll ask you to fill out your information, then boot you from the account. by that point they will have access your account and will more than likely use it to spread to more people

as shown the scam itself tends to have some variety- not all of its gonna be word for word, exactly the same- so be careful! if you suspect someone you know has been caught up in the scam, be sure to block and to reach out on other platforms if possible.

BlogTember Day 5: Evolution Scene

The flash was over in a instant, the once blinding light now left with a ominous shadow lingering within the corner of the dungeon The group remained silent as a loud heavy breathing through gritted teeth could be heard emitted from the large shadow "haaah... I didn'T... GRrk... know it would... hhhuRT..." The shadow spat out onto the floor, their claws digging into the rock. "It... it isn't... supposed to-" The smaller purugly didn't manage to finish their sentence before the shadow bust out laughing suddenly, loudly cracking their neck as it began to approach the group once more

"But MAN. WHAT A RUSH." The pokemon looms over the group, its smile spread wide, flashing a brand new pair of teeth. "I can't believe you didn't want this for me." It's massive paw quickly slams against the purugly's head, causing them to be easily pinned to the ground. "It hurt when you said that, after all we've been through, you know? Hurt a lot in fact.." The larger pokemon cocked their head to the side as the purugly began to squirm under their paw, desperately trying to escape. Their eyes flashing around to the others, begging for any of them to help. Unfortunate for them, the others were frozen solid with fear, the shadow tag preventing any form of escape. The pokemon leans down suddenly, it's teeth spread wide into a twisted grin. "Let's see if I can return that level of hurt, to make us more even."

if you could give one tip to an amateur artist (aka not complete newbie but not great either), what would it be?

I could talk about using references, drawing from life, breaking down what you see into shapes, having someone critique your work etc etc, but i think the biggest tip regardless of level is

Just keep drawing

Its stupid simple, but there are so many factors that prohibit people from doing this.

Theres perfectionism, fear of failure, discouragement from not being at the level you want to be, being overwhelmed by life, the list goes on.

But the simple action of consistently doing something is the foundation for improvement. Even if you dont notice at the time. The hard part is developing a mindset that allows consistency. And this is where a lot of the "just draw" advice people give falls apart. I am not telling anyone to draw once per day (unless thats something that works for you). My tip is to find the thing thats stopping you from drawing and solve that in order to find the motivation to keep drawing. Because once you do that, then everything else will fall into place.

There is no one size fits all, but i think an important mentality to have is to treat your art journey as an endless game of levelling up. You can only ever gain more experience. So for every bad drawing you make, you still walk away learning something. This is especially helpful for people that suffer from perfectionism or are dissatisfied with their art. Trust the process and trust yourself. Even if your art doesnt look the way you want it to now, by continuing to learn and practice the thing you want to get good at, you eventually will reach the level you want.

And perhaps, anon, you are someone who already is drawing consistently. Then all i have to say to you, is that youre on the right track and all you need is to have faith that you will continue to improve if you chose to keep drawing consistently.

Ive actually had the pleasure of witnessing two of my friends start their artistic journey from almost ground 0 and watched their art improve significantly in months. Both come from a non art school background and had no formal training. The one common thing they have is that they started to draw more.

these days i look at arthur & wonder if he'd have changed had he not contracted tb... bc he already knew that the world doesnt allow outlaws. he already knew or at least suspected that dutch didnt have the gang's best interest. he already knew how things would turn out... or at least suspected.

he might have grumbled, huffed & puffed, & self-deprecated his way through but he would have still helped people in ch5 & ch6 w/o the tb... the illness just accelerated everything...

low honor arthur is canon but high honor arthur is even more so bc of all the things you can do in some of the stranger missions... where youre basically forced by the narrative to help them. sure, some of them do give money to arthur but some dont... some of the stranger missions he does are truly out of the goodness thats hidden in him.)

I'm in a very interesting position of "got comprehensive and age appropriate sex ed at a young age" but I was also molested as a kid. I am walking evidence that seeing diagrams of penises and vaginas isn't harmful and the real thing that gets kids hurt and sexually abused is not knowing shit. Cuz like, I did get told what genitals were and how zygotes implant into the uterus walls and stuff, but nobody told me about sexual abuse and assault for a while.

This also illustrates something ✨extremely fun✨: CSA is treated like it is Too Yucky to tell kids about, even in technical terms, even if the kid is aware of what sex is, they simply cannot know that if their friend pressures them into touching their genitals, that's a bad thing and that friend is probably being hurt! It's so weird, there's literally a whole saying about how knowledge is power, but kids are intentionally denied knowledge that could save them so much pain.

Speaking of Tyrest. A lot of people forget that he treated Pharma with absolute disdain, not only using him as a test subject for a clearly painful mass murder machine, but talking to Pharma like he saw him as nothing but some henchman to order around that was nothing more than a 'diseased cripple' if Tyrest hadn't come to rescue him.

Like it really is an interesting background dynamic with some curious implications, but when you look at fandom posts from around that issue/the years after, for some reason people just saw "Pharma worked with Tyrest" and concluded Pharma is a card carrying bigot ksjfnskxkd. Like yeah Pharma didn't do anything to stop Tyrest but it seems his main beef with the Autobots was with Ratchet in particular and maybe a general disdain for his ex-comrades. As well as continuing to hate Decepticons which like, not even the "good Autobots" are immune to (even in Pharma's introduction, First Aid says in his journal something like "yeah we all hate Decepticons, but Pharma REALLY hates them"). And despite what fandom likes to construe there's really no evidence in IDW1 that Autobots and Decepticons are different "races" or "types" of Cybertronians, so Pharma hating Decepticons really isn't a bigotry/robot racism thing. And instead probably has something to do with, idk, the 4 million year long galaxy-spanning blood feud war, or maybe being blackmailed and tortured into insanity by the Biggest and Most Decepticon-y of Decepticons.

Tyrest treated Pharma like trash, the other Decepticons working for Tyrest (how come no one ever brings that up btw) also hated him, so if anything it seems that Pharma was more of a rogue element only staying with Tyrest bc he was his best option and probably had no way to even escape.

I'm glad that at least in recent years the fandom has acquired a keen reading eye and good taste to finally recognize Pharma as the (accidentally) complex character he is instead of making him some posh, racist Starscream clone SHSJDGSGDH
