Do you ever just be scrolling through through any sites (Tumblr, TikTok, ao3) looking for anything new about your favorite topic *cough* descendants *cough* Jay angst *cough* -excuse me, and you just give up and go back to your saved/ liked posts and reread everything for the thousandth time.

I uh… So I tried to read a Villainous fanfic on Wattpad…

So basically- I read one of those “[Character] X Reader” things- Don’t ask, I got curious-

I read a thing of Black Hat X Reader to see how people in this fandom write stuff and it was FOURTY FOUR PARTS LONG

I read through the first part (It was pretty good apart from the occasional grammar error here and there) but I got to part two…

It was also good until there was a thing that said “Black Hat’s POV” and it was in FIRST PERSON.

Which is not necessarily bad, but I was not expecting that.

So uhh my brain couldn’t process that and I forgot how to read after that

Idk if this is unpopular opinion, but I don’t like first person writing in fiction (if it’s like an autobiography then that’s different) and I like third or second person writing much better, it feels less confusing and overall.. It’s just better in my opinion

While first person writing gives an insight into a character’s thoughts and feelings while still interacting with other characters and having the story play out, I prefer for the characters to all be told without the whole “I” thing, it’s just easier for my pea sized brain to process

Whenever I write fiction (used to write fanfiction, will still sometimes write fanfiction if I get bored enough) I write it specifically in third person, because I like to tell my own stories as the writer, and not as like.. The main character. It’s just what I prefer

I hope that’s enough explanation why I dislike first person writing, but that was an off topic rant

I might dabble in reading Wattpad fanfictions again for fun, but the random first person POV of a character jumpscared me…

Like, if you’re going to write a story in third (or second) person, don’t randomly switch to another point of view, that’s really confusing for me and maybe other people… Unless I’m just really weird idk

-an incestous relationship between a family friend's sister and her cousin (ew)

-all the thousands of crushes my aunt has had over the years plus comments from my grandma

-a hardcore shipping session from all my family for my aunt and her "ex" boyfriend whom are currently together in colombia and will be there alone together for the next month

-what went down during my parents'wedding

-my dad's version of scary story: he once got stuck in a house in somewhere while a storm raged outside with no electricity on halloween

-my grandpa leaving my aunt in the economy class while he went in buisness during a flight from italy to canada

-my grandpa leaving my grandma in an hotel in said canada without her credit card, so she couldn't pay for her hotel room
