The image used in the background of the Gravity Falls logo HAS BEEN FOUND!!

It's located in France!!

I made a thread on Twitter explaining the full story and how I even asked Ian Worrel and Alex Hirsch about it, but lemme run down quickly how it was found and where it is!

After 3 years of searching with some friends on and off, we had no real luck. I've been working on a video about it for a while but decided to try one more time. My friend @trickengf suggested looking at international logos as they may have more of the image available and sure enough...we found logos like the Japanese and Russian GF logo had more visible detail of the image.

From that, Tricken made a remake of the image and used it to find it. He ended up finding the source at about 3AM for me, lol!

My friend Fried Oreos then confirmed the image was old enough to fit the criteria of pre GF pilot, by determining the image was on the Textures website it was sourced from since 2008!

Then, my friend Alex M managed to buy the HD image and we were able to analyze its metadata for more info!

Turns out, the image, called "LandscapeMountains0009," was taken by a Nikon D70 camera on April 18, 2007!

THE GRAVITY FALLS LOGO IMAGE IS ALMOST 18 YEARS OLD!!

From there, we began looking for the location. The meta data had no location, but other images taken around the same time showed signs of maybe the location being in Europe.

After over a day of searching, Tricken, Alex M and Oreos FOUND IT!!

The location of the image is a mountain range near the town of Sers, France...near the border with Spain.

Exact coordinates of the closest viewable angle of the image is 42°54'23.2"N 0°06'05.6"E

This is a major discovery and one I cannot believe we did. While this search was started by me in 2021 with some friends, it was TrickenGF, Alex M and Fried Oreos who deserve all the credit for this discovery! They were the geniuses who tracked all of this down and were able to connect the dots to get to this point.

You guys are amazing and I am beyond grateful for all of this.

Finding this image means that fans can now recreate the Gravity Falls logo as they want with anything they want. For example, Tricken made this for me using the image :D

We now have it!

For 12 years as we looked at the Gravity Falls logo...we were in reality looking at a mountain in France...NOT Oregon!

So, I guess this is a major W for France but sorry, Pacific Northwest, Gravity Falls is actually French, lol!

Dogwarts - A Horror-Themed Minecraft Map

Ever since the beheading, paranoia has taken hold of the Red King.

Dogwarts is a short Minecraft map full of secrets, made for AUFest 2024's Reverse Big Bang. You can find more information on it here, including the world download, content warnings, how-to-play guide, and a video showcase for anyone who can't or doesn't want to play through it themselves.

The things Martyn carries with him have dwindled to almost nothing. One bucket that he doesn’t dare abandon to the capricious shadows, a handful of glass bottles. A scrap of banner that he keeps in his pocket, that he wipes his sweat on but never without feeling a little bad. If it’s the tunnels themselves that are responsible for all his misfortune, they never make a sound to suggest so. If this place is haunted, it’s not haunted by any ghosts but his own.

The enchanter must be protected at all costs. Away from prying eyes, deep below the ground, nobody but Ren will ever lay their eyes on it again. A labyrinth of dirt and stone must be dug to further protect it. The process weighs heavily on Martyn, and the tunnels themselves seem to suffocate him. It's all worth it, though. The enchanter must be safe.

☆ 𝑀𝐴𝑇𝑇𝐻𝐸𝑂 Mattheo would show up at your door half an hour before the ball, a little dishevelled but with an irresistible smirk. “Don’t look at me like that, princess. You know I’m the best choice,” he’d say, offering his arm. During the ball, he’d stay close to you, throwing flirtatious remarks your way while keeping a jealous eye on anyone else who dared to look at you.

☆ 𝑇𝐻𝐸𝑂 Theo would meticulously go over the ball’s program the night before to make sure everything was perfect (he’d deny it with all his power). On the evening of the event, he’d wait for you at your door, his dark green tie perfectly matching the colour of your dress. Throughout the ball, he’d be attentive, always ensuring you’re comfortable, while subtly pulling you closer during dances to share the quiet beauty of the moment.

☆ 𝐸𝑁𝑍𝑂 When he would pick you up, he’d make a playful comment about your outfit before offering his arm with a radiant smile. At the ball, he’d be the most cheerful partner, lifting every moment with his laughter and endless energy. On the dance floor, he’d spin you around as if the two of you were the stars of the show, as if no one else around you two existed.

☆ 𝐷𝑅𝐴𝐶𝑂 Draco would make sure everyone knows you’re his partner weeks in advance. When arriving to pick you up, he’d be elegant and confident, perhaps with a slight air of superiority as he remarks, “You didn’t think I’d have anything better to do tonight, did you?” At the ball, he’d make sure it’s clear you’re with him, and while dancing, his words would be sweet but tinged with his characteristic smugness.

☆ 𝐵𝐿𝐴𝐼𝑆𝐸 Blaise would exude elegance to the point of being almost intimidating. He’d arrive with a small bouquet for you and hand it over with a soft smile. During the ball, he’d remain calm and poised, but the playful glint in his dark eyes would hint at how much he’s enjoying the evening with you. While not overly talkative, his glances and subtle touches would speak volumes.

☆ 𝑇𝑂𝑀 Tom would be impeccably composed when he arrives, his charismatic smile hiding an ever-present shadow. “You’re lucky to have chosen me,” he’d say lightly, though he’d make it clear the privilege is mutual. At the ball, he’d be measured and attentive, but his presence would be overwhelming; he’d command every gaze while dancing with you as if each move carried a deeper significance.
