#deltarune #rouxls kaard #doodles #art #deltarune chapter 1 #just a simple leetol post today. i would like to post more. i keep saying that but i mean it this time.#i think i used to draw the pants untucked from the boots but i liked the little chains that matched his coat #i've always read his uniform as an actual playing card? a lot of people see that the ropes on the front look like writing #like an actual rules card but i read it like his uniform *is* actually very boxy shaped and pulled at the waist #the way i literally read his sprite and the way i draw him are kind of different but i still try to keep that rectangular element #thats why i liked the dumb 80s shoulderpads because it doesn't break up that shape as much as these do #but that's why his coat has the front and back skirts with the slit on either side. its like two playing cards sandwiched together #and that only very loosely translates from my head into the way i draw him but. yeah #i definitely lean more into how he's depicted in merch rather than in game whjbdfghbjfdg

edit: might need to add some additional dialogue to this to make it more clear, but a clarification in the interim; he knows about his own footprints. he's just surprised to see something similar already there when he knows he's only just landed. he lifts his own shoe to confirm that they're not identical (and also to reveal this to the viewer). seems his stoicism beat off the clarity in this one, sorry 😭

Just a bit of lore relevant vent art (with terrible proportions bc apparently I mess that up horribly when I'm tired ugh. Watch me regret posting this tomorrow. The head size is already driving me mad bc it's too big, and I can feel myself wanting to abort this mission already) of Mourynn just, lying down on top of one of those large elevated Pale Tree roots far above the Grove (and far away from everyone else), and during the time between the early years and before the Personal story. Caithe is gone (Destiny's Edge), Wynne is gone (bc well, y'know...), even Faolain is gone (bc of Caithe in DE), and she's just feeling miserable, lost, and alone. (Her hair is in between her sapling hair and the Zhaitan hair, so it's grown out a bit bc she's depressed, and she's meant to be in the new outfit she designed, but I'm in the process of redesigning it a bit, so I've made a few tentative changes for now. Her collar is now just an extension of her clavicle leaves which can be put up like a collar, or can be draped down over her shoulders or back)

#Hatsune Miku #VOCALOID #or rather #piapro characters #Hatsune Miku Single String Ver.#<- yep that's the fan module I made for fun last year #the thing is. only half a month to go until it's mid autumn. and every year I try to draw something for the occasion #I just. started early this year... for some reason......#well I mostly just wanna draw Her lmao. because the pokemon/miku voltage stuff is still being released and Im feelin the effect #and this year's magical miral design is so fuckign good.... thank u to miku artists. especially LAM and rella #as is always the case with this module the instrument/weapon (lol) she uses is a heavily stylized đàn bầu!#and I just realized while drawing this and looking at the ref sheets that I never detailed the pluck lmao #to be fair. usually its just like a piece of. anything #commonly bamboo or bone or plastic. shaped into a longish fingernail shape. its really the way u hold it that matters iirc #but yeah I spruced up the OG design for the instrument in this one lol. this is actually like my original vision I think #I really wanted to make that thing beast shaped. but I Just figured out how to properly stylize it when I designed the module #and! I did say this on stream but I am genuinely very proud of that design! that was genuinely big brain of me! so #future instrument variants will still probably base heavily on that general shape and principles lol. I'm playin in this space its MY muck #also I switched the number on her coat from 39 to 01 bc it's more on theme thats really it. nothin else to remark on there lol #and! once again based the dragon head on the lý dynasty dragon rather than later iterations. thats why the nose fin and no whiskers #and the metal nozzle is kinda supposed to call to mind a temple bell. not super sure i got that across well #but the rim design IS historical! I thiiiink early lê dynasty. just on ceramics instead of on bronze lmao #anyways thats it. Surely skeletons would have All their bones right?#But in the human skeleton it's not resting against another bone it's just floating there tethered by muscle and sinew #Would it float? Would it rest inside the lower jaw? Would it attach to the neck vertebrae??#It'd probably get caught on his turtleneck a lot easier than like - getting it caught on his neck bones for example #They have a kind of fused canine-teeth-like structure as well they're like a weird set of tongue-teeth lol #It's just fun to imagine ♪ Similar to how the rest of the skeletal body like - magnetizes? to itself :)

sometimes in the fandom you see some art that is SO beautifully made but goes SO against the grain of how you perceive the drawn character(s) like I want to reblog it so much because it's so visually gorgeous and the artist is amazing and deserves to know this but I'll fucking die before letting that particular interpretation of the character(s) anywhere near my blog

#personal #don't take it as vagueposting #it's about A LOT of art I've seen over the years and I just got reminded of some of it #fandoms in general tend to take the characterization of nuanced characters in certain very specific direction #that irritates me to an absolutely unreasonable degree #and I don't want to rain on anyone's parades #it's fandom and it's for fun there is no way to enjoy your fictional guys wrong #so I mostly keep silent about it #but given sufficient time pretty much every fandom drifts into the state where I can't engage with it #without seeing red like three posts into the tag #even the art tag #and I feel so weird sitting there with my different perception #pretty isolated #which is self-imposed and not exactly bad but still weird #luckily I have some close friends that I can still have in-depth discussions abt the media and characters with #but online fandoming eventually gets blood-boiling rather than fulfilling #which is especially idk weird?#given that I'm mostly drawing fandom stuff #and I kinda SHOULD be interacting with the fandom #and I'd love to have talks of those fictional guys #they are great guys and I love to talk about them #but then I poke my nose into the fandom and my blood gets boiling #it's weird being a fandom artist outside of the fandom is what I'm saying xD #especially once you get used to the boost of motivation and productivity that comes from being in the fandom #and I kinda miss that but also well nothing to be done about that #don't mind me and sorry for the rant
