About the randomized swap au; Are the roles of the mangled drones the same as the murder drones from the og? Like do they still hunt and murder worker drones or is it different?

Kelsey: My colony wasn't aware of their presence. We were far away and there were only rumors. Mangled drones was our nickname for them because it's not like we could ask them for names

(So yes, they are the same. They just get a different nickname because of a lack of knowledge. Disassembly drones would have been nicknamed murder drones like in canon if they caused more damage)

The land-maid giant had been sitting there for a while, staring into the little oasis of ocean she’d placed them in. They felt…very exposed, with nowhere to hide but a few sparse patches of grass. They kept telling themself that it didn’t matter how much light there was or how open the waters were, no hunters could reach them here. There was a long stretch of land between themself and the sea.

The thought was as terrifying it was reassuring.

She lit up as they worked up the courage to peek back out at her from the grass. Her words were muffled, but not so much that they couldn’t understand her. She was bubbling over with questions—what they were, who they were, if they were alright, did they need anything else, were they hungry, what did they even eat, where did they come from, how did they get here…?

They waved and smiled, but kept silent. Bad things happened when sirens spoke. Their voice was dangerous, the magic hard to control, and the land-folk were particularly susceptible to its curses.

This one had saved them from a horrible death drying out in the sun. What sort of thank you would it be to answer her?

I realised I had to refine Ceroba for my au…

In the cowboy swap au, Ceroba is actually the Sheriff and leader of the Feisty Five. Clover is still the Deputy and goes by “Lucky Star”. He loves hanging around town with his Mama ☺️. I haven’t come up with a cool cowboy name for Ceroba yet, although she probably wouldn’t use one :/

For the Researcher!Siffrin Role Swap Au, would it be Researcher!Siffrin trying to confess to Traveler!Isa during the loops or is Traveler!Isa in a weird mix of ‘denial of crushing on this scissor wizard’ and ‘oh crab he’s adorable and perfect and nhsjdg6bwjhwi’ throughout the loops?

I like the idea of Researcher!Siffrin trying and failing to ask Traveler!Isa out in increasingly absurd ways, including but not limited to: Slipping into their native language, trying to ask out Traveler!Isa but getting sidetracked with showing him how to wish properly, comparing Traveler!Isa to the stars/stargazing, and one of the party members distracting Traveler!Siffrin with books/questions.

the mental image of Researcher!Siffrin going out of his way to give Traveler!Isa flower crowns and take him star gazing and teach him cool and weird facts about their [forgotten] native language and customs sparks so much Joy and Glee and Amusement grief Researcher!Siffrin would be SO bad at flirting and trying to court Isabeau asdsdkfjha BUT YEAH you're right! I think in a weird twist of fate it's Researcher!Siffrin who'd be the one trying to flirt and catch Isabeau's attention, instead of the other way 'round and I adore them for it
