[ 📸 📹 Footage shows scenes of massive destruction everywhere to be seen after the withdrawal of Zionist forces in Hamad Town, a city in the Khan Yunis governate, in the southern Gaza Strip, while photos show the bodies of the dead resulting from IOF airstrikes targeting civilian homes in Deir al-Balah overnight, in the central Gaza Strip.]
🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚀🏘️💥🚑 🚨
HAMAD TOWN IN KHAN YUNIS COMPLETELY FLATTENED BY ZIONIST FORCES, DOZENS KILLED ON DAY 159 OF ISRAEL'S GENOCIDE
On the 159th day of Israel's ongoing war of genocide in the Gaza Strip, and on the second day of Ramadan, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed a total of 10 massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of no less than 88 Palestinian civilians, mostly women and children, and wounded another 135 others over the previous 24-hours.
In a highly illegal attack on the sovereign state of Lebanon, a Zionist raid targeting a civilian vehicle near the Al-Hosh Junction in the city of Tyre killed the Hamas political leader Hadi Mustafa, from the Rashidiya Camp, and wounded three other Lebanese civilians.
According to Lebanese media, Zionist artillery also fired on the Marjayoun Plain while Israeli military and reconnaissance aircraft operated in Lebanese airspace, with the local government calling on the International community to put a stop to Israeli strikes within its borders.
In the north of the Gaza Strip, Zionist artillery forces fired four shells towards the vicinity of Al-Quds Hospital, affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City, killing at least five civilians, including children, and wounding several others.
Similarly, Israeli warplanes targeted with airstrikes the civilian neighborhoods of Al-Daraj and Al-Zaytoun in Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of 15 Palestinians, including two women and at least seven children, while wounding dozens of others.
According to reports on the bombings, occupation warplanes bombarded a civilian home in the Al-Daraj neighborhood which killed seven civilians, including three children and wounded several others.
Later, a second strike targeting the Azzam family home in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, killed no less than eight civilians, including four children and two women, with a number of others wounded as well.
Israeli occupation aircraft also bombarded the Lulu family home in the Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, killing two Palestinian civilians and wounding four children as a result.
IOF airstrikes and artillery fire also concentrated on the central Gaza Strip, with occupation forces targeting four civilian homes in the city of Deir al-Balah overnight.
In the first attack, Zionist air forces bombarded the Al-Atrash family home in Deir al-Balah, killing at least 11 civilians, most of whom were women and children, and wounding dozens of others.
Subsequently, IOF fighter jets bombed the Al-Qudra family home, resulting in the tragic deaths of 11 additional Palestinians, while a strike targeting the Abu Sanjar family home killed at least 7 civilians.
In another strike, occupation forces targeted the Al-Yazuri family home, also in Deir al-Balah, leading to 25 civilians killed or missing under the rubble of their home.
In another Zionist atrocity, the Palestinian fisherman's syndicate announced the horrific murder of two of its members, Muhammad and Youssef Adel al-Sayyid Abu Riyala, after being targeted by occupation gunboats while fishing off the coast of Al-Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip, known locally as the Nuseirat Sea.
Moving towards the Southern Gaza Strip, IOF artillery shelling concentrated near Hamad Town, in the Khan Yunis governate, where violent clashes with Resistance forces led several Israeli aircraft to land in the area to transport wounded Zionist soldiers for medical care.
Local Paramedic personnel also transported the body of martyr Haitham Muhammad Deeb Suwaidan (35yo) from Khan Yunis to Al-Najjar Hospital in the city of Rafah.
Additionally, IOF soldiers detonated several residential homes east of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
As a result of Israel's ongoing war of genocide in the Gaza Strip, the infinitely rising death toll stemming from Israeli attacks now exceeds 31'272 civilians killed, more than 25'000 of which being women and children according to the United States Pentagon, and wounding another 73'024 others since the current round of Israeli aggression began on October 7th, 2023.

Happy TDOV!
When I first realized I was trans, I never thought I would make it past 18. I'm now going to be turning 25 this year, almost a year into my first-ever full-time job (another thing I never thought was possible). While my physical and mental health haven't been great, I'm glad and thankful every day of my choice to transition and live with myself as I truly am. And I'm glad to show people that two-spirit people and LGBT Muslims exist and can live happy lives. Shout out and love to my fellow two-spirit folks and my fellow trans Muslims, any future with us in it is a bright one 🧡🏳️⚧️
Happy Trans Day of Visibility, Happy Ramadan.

AITA for being weird about winning a game?
I (25 enby) am an early childhood educator. Every week, we have a morning staff meeting where we discuss important school events and to-dos. For whatever reason, today we were all told via email to bring "3 dollars to the meeting for a time-honored energizer game." Turns out the entire meeting was just us playing a game called Left Right Center. The game is basically rolling dice and shuffling money around until one person ends up with all the money, winning. It is for all intents and purposes gambling (roll dice=win money). I did not bring any money with me (I dont carry cash) and told them, maybe a little too casually, that I should have a religious exemption from the game (Its Ramadan, Im muslim. I am not very strictly religious, but there are some rules that I feel are healthy for me to follow and are there for a reason. i dont and never have gambled regardless of the time of year). My director and admins especially pushed back, joking that "it's just a game." My director gave me three dollars, and i played. It became clear pretty quickly that I would win, which I feared would happen bc I am very lucky. I joked and had fun about it, but i was internally pretty uncomfortable with the concept of taking money from others. When I won, i sort of hid the money away as quickly as possible and told people I was going to donate it. I was pretty verbal about being uncomfortable with winning the money, but no one at my workplace seemed to care or reacted pretty weirdly to my discomfort. My director kept giving me "shout-outs" for winning and told me not to donate it but to "keep it for a rainy day."
So, AITA for playing the game and then acting uncomfortable/ not keeping the money when I won? I feel like I should have just not played, but I was really hoping I'd lose so I wouldn't have to think too hard about it. I also feel like Im stealing money from my coworkers, even though it seemed like everyone was having fun.
Note: i am the only muslim at my workplace. My co-teacher, who is Orthodox christian, and I probably have the most overt religious "rules" that impact others at work. Everyone tries to be respectful, but they dont know very much. Even my co-teacher told me she didn't know Muslims weren't supposed to gamble. I'd prefer if people refrain from religious shaming in the comments.
What are these acronyms?

Food Parcels for Gaza for Ramadan
Ahmed Abu Raida lives in the Gaza Strip and is crowdfunding to supply food baskets for Ramadan to families in his area. Due to the Israeli Blockade of the Gaza Strip, access to essentials is limited and many families are dependent on international aid to meet their basic needs.
A food basket costs about £25-29 GBP (€28-32, $30-35 USD, $40-47 CAD, $44-51 AUD, or $48-56 NZD) and is enough for a large family for a few days.
Please donate if you can.

“If you were Masalit, we decided that we don’t want to leave any alive, not even the children.” This explicit warning, recounted by a survivor to Human Rights Watch, by a militiaman of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and its allies last June is emblematic of the ongoing genocidal atrocities in Darfur. Rarely does the world bear witness to such open confessions of genocidal intent.
The RSF is the successor to the janjaweed militia, which carried out a genocide in Darfur just 20 years ago against non-Arab ethnic groups such as the Fur, Masalit, and Zaghawa. At the time, a mass movement emerged in the United States—led by the Save Darfur coalition, which comprised nearly 200 organizations—mobilizing worldwide protests and bringing out prominent celebrities, including then-Sen. Barack Obama and George Clooney, and demonstrators in the hundreds of thousands.
A powerful U.N. Security Council arms embargo, sanctions regime, and referral to the International Criminal Court ensued, resulting in the first—and only—arrest warrant for genocide against Sudanese leader Omar al-Bashir, while an eventual joint U.N.-African Union peacekeeping force was dispatched to the region; it was later withdrawn in 2021.
This time, the world is nowhere to be found. The U.N. Security Council has passed only a single resolution after nearly a year into the conflict, merely calling for a temporary cessation of hostilities during the month of Ramadan—a step that should have been taken on day one.
Many RSF commanders today are former janjaweed leaders themselves, including the head of the RSF, Mohamed Hamdan “Hemeti” Dagalo. The RSF largely recruits on an ethnic basis from Arab communities, whose militiamen have continued to perpetrate systematic massacres and sexual violence against non-Arab communities on the basis of their ethnicity.
The current genocide unfolding in Darfur is crowded out by coverage of Gaza, Ukraine, and the broader war in Sudan, portrayed as an internal armed conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF. But the ethnically targeted violence in Darfur must be distinguished from this broader conflict, demanding an immediate response in the form of civilian protection.
This is all happening in the context of a shamefully overlooked humanitarian catastrophe. The estimated death toll currently is as many as 150,000; nearly 9 million Sudanese have been forcibly displaced; and 25 million people—half of Sudan’s population—are in need of humanitarian aid. In the worst scenarios, 2.5 million people are projected to die by famine, while 18 million face acute food insecurity, and nearly 4 million children are acutely malnourished. It is a man-made disaster of inconceivable proportions.
In recent weeks, the RSF has razed dozens of communities to the ground at a shocking pace around El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur. The city’s population of up to 2.8 million, including 750,000 children, is already on the brink of famine with nowhere to go. The long-feared attack on El Fasher is now well underway, and the window to intervene to protect civilians is closing.
The legal community is already coalescing around a consensus that the RSF campaign in West Darfur constitutes genocide. As human rights lawyers specializing in atrocity prevention, we chaired the first international inquiry into the genocide with dozens of jurists and scholars around the world, concluding that the RSF is responsible for committing genocide in Darfur.
Our panel of experts included founding prosecutors of the international criminal tribunals and presidents of the International Association of Genocide Scholars. The United Nations Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect echoed our independent finding, which is further corroborated by a substantial report by Human Rights Watch on the RSF’s ethnically targeted campaign of genocidal violence.
Our inquiry also concluded that the RSF is receiving direct military, financial, and diplomatic support from the United Arab Emirates. This finding is also backed by the U.N. Panel of Experts on Sudan, who found credible evidence of the UAE providing heavy weaponry to the RSF, as corroborated by further investigative reporting. In December 2023, a group of U.S. members of Congress sent a letter to the Emirati foreign minister urging an end to the UAE’s provision of military support to the RSF. This May, legislation was introduced to stop U.S. arms exports to the UAE until it ceases its support to the RSF.
The RSF’s offensive across Darfur mirrors the genocidal attacks of the early 2000s, only with more advanced weaponry. The RSF and its militias have methodically massacred and committed sexual violence against members of the Masalit community after interrogating and screening their victims’ ethnicity, singling out Masalit members to be raped or executed at close range. The RSF’s campaign should be described accurately and confronted as such. History is repeating itself as the world is turning away.
Major powers have not only failed to take decisive action on Sudan but continue to fail to even issue decisive statements, instead parroting old, empty platitudes for all parties to cease hostilities without even directly naming the genocidaires and their sponsors. This diplomatic posturing has not changed since the first weeks of the war in April 2023, despite mounting evidence of escalating genocide in Darfurperpetrated by the RSF.
The international community is repeating the exact same fatal mistakes of the early 2000s by prioritizing a sham political process in Saudi Arabia, entirely removed from an ongoing genocide. Vague calls on all parties to negotiate is not only a pretense but a form of complicity when it serves as cover for the RSF, allowing its fighters to perpetrate the impending massacres against vulnerable civilians in El Fasher with impunity.
As the RSF besieges and attacks El Fasher, cutting off water and critical supplies, the world must prepare for the worst-case scenario. The SAF cannot be trusted to protect civilians, for it once created, trained, and equipped the RSF to commit atrocities against the non-Arab populations in Darfur. But even if the SAF were willing to protect them today, it is unable to protect its military bases, let alone civilians.
When the SAF abandoned its posts in West Darfur, the RSF went on a killing spree, systematically murdering men and boys and committing rape and other forms of sexual violence against women and girls based on their identity. On this empirical basis, we know how the same pattern will repeat itself in El Fasher.
The only way to halt the RSF’s impending genocide in El Fasher is by imposing immediate costs on the perpetrators. The continuing impunity sends a clear message that the international community will simply stand by.
Last month, the U.S. government rightfully urged the RSF to retreat from El Fasher or “face further consequences” and called out the “external backers of the belligerents [who] continue the flow of weapons into the country.”
If the U.S. government is to be true to its word, these consequences and external backers must now be specifically articulated. The United States has the most influence to exercise the leverage and pressure needed to immediately stem the violence. Washington has the power to stop this genocide but is failing to do so.
First, given the risk of imminent massacres in El Fasher, U.S. President Joe Biden should openly call on Hemeti to call off this attack—or simply phone Washington’s close ally Emirati President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to urge him to exert pressure on Hemeti to withdraw his forces from El Fasher. The United States should threaten Hemeti with immediate consequences for imminent crimes against humanity and genocide in El Fasher, including sanctions and arrest warrants to stamp the RSF leaders with pariah status internationally. This time, it should not be an empty threat; actions must follow.
Second, the United States should work with regional partners to build support for an AU-led civilian protection mechanism in El Fasher to facilitate humanitarian aid routes and safe passage. Whereas Chad was reachable by foot from El Geneina in West Darfur, civilians in El Fasher are trapped with nowhere to go.
Third, Biden should publicly call out the UAE for its support of the RSF. Unless the UAE ceases its support, the RSF will continue to commit atrocities targeting defenseless communities.
Fourth, the U.S. government should call an emergency open debate on El Fasher at the U.N. Security Council and pass a resolution for a cease-fire, civilian protection, and immediate consequences on all actors openly defying the arms embargo and fueling this genocide, including the UAE.
Fifth, the United States and all 152 other parties to the Genocide Convention should fulfill their obligations to prevent genocide by, at a minimum, imposing costs and sanctions on all of the RSF’s enablers, including all companies owned by or linked to the RSF, and all sponsors of this conflict more broadly.
Finally, the humanitarian aid pledges made by countries at the Paris conference for Sudan in April must be immediately implemented to prevent wide-scale famine, as the lean season sets in. Only 16 percent of the overall funding required for the bare minimum U.N. humanitarian response plan has been received so far. All humanitarian aid should be carefully distributed as much as possible to local organizations, including volunteer emergency response rooms doing the front-line work.
At present, there is scarcely any media coverage of Darfur. The same atrocities that sparked a mass movement just 20 years ago are being completely overlooked today. There is no reason why the same coalition should not come together once again today, in a landscape with greater potential to mobilize broader support through social media.
While we fear that the window to intervene for the people of Darfur is closing, we are writing this as an urgent appeal. Let no one say they did not know.

On this day, 25 February 1994, a 37-year-old Zionist extremist from the US massacred 29 Palestinian civilians and wounded over 100 others as they prayed at a mosque in the city of Hebron during Ramadan, the Muslim holy month. The shooter entered the Ibrahimi mosque, also known as the Cave of the Patriarch, and massacred worshippers until members of the crowd were able to disarm and kill him. Protests then broke out against the murders outside the mosque, and the Israeli army responded by killing demonstrators outside the mosque, as well as outside a nearby hospital and at a local cemetery as the dead were being buried. Palestinians estimate the death toll at 50 to 70, with 250 injured, and some survivors believed there was a second gunman who was never apprehended. Many survivors also believe that the Israeli military was involved in the attack. One, Kamal Abdeen, who was paralysed in the shooting, told Al Jazeera: "The soldiers always searched us before we entered the mosque and we had to pass through a metal detector". But "On that day the machine was turned off and no-one searched us. There were fewer soldiers there than usual and they were relaxed and laughing". After the massacre, Israeli authorities forcibly closed down over 500 local businesses and sealed off large portions of the local area to Palestinians. They also partitioned the mosque in two parts, with the biggest part now reserved exclusively for Jewish settlers and visitors. Significant numbers of Israeli citizens also celebrated the massacre, and many Zionist extremists came to pay tribute at the grave of the murderer. One of these was Itamar Ben-Gvir, who visited the grave on his first date with his future wife, and also hung a photo of the murderer on his living room wall for many years. In 2021 Ben-Gvir was elected to Israel's parliament, and the following year he became the minister of national security. Palestine Summary. March 9 to March 11, 2024.
From "Let's Talk Palestine" (Instagram Broadcast Channel), quote.
March 9
• 82 Palestinians killed, 122 injured in Gaza in past 24 hours
• 2-month-old killed by starvation from dehydration and malnutrition in Kamal Adwan hospital + 3 children killed in al-Shifa hospital in the isolated northern Gaza, suffering the brunt of Israel’s block of aid. Bringing the total to 25 Palestinians killed by starvation
• Massacre in Nuseirat camp (central Gaza) kills 13+ Palestinians and many injured following Israeli destruction of a residential block, with the death toll expected to rise as many remain buried under rubble
🇸🇪🇨🇦 Sweden + Canada to resume UNRWA funding; Sweden to donate initial $20 million, with plans to allocate total of $400 million in 2024, while Canada set to resume funding in April
• 80% of homes in Gaza now “uninhabitable”, causing an estimated $30 billion in damages
• Anti-government protests in Tel Aviv calling for release of hostages + early elections, showing a growing disdain for the administration; met with clashes with the police
March 10.
• Gaza death toll surpasses 31,000, which doesn’t include the thousands buried under rubble
• Israeli forces deployed outside Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem attacked and beat Palestinians attempting to enter the mosque on eve of Ramadan, despite Israel’s claims of no additional restrictions on worshippers in first week of Ramadan. Previous years show increase in Israeli police raids & entry restrictions in Ramadan, with heightened restrictions a regular occurrence since Oct 7
• Israeli settlers establish outpost (unauthorized settlement illegal under Israeli law) in Ein al-Sakout in West Bank
🔻 Hamas claims drones dropped 2 missiles on Israeli command base in Beit Hanoun (north Gaza) + clashes in tunnel in Khan Younis (south Gaza) wounded & killed Israeli soldiers
🇺🇸 Biden says temporary Gaza seaport for aid will take 2 months to complete, despite criticism for US refusal to pressure Israel to permit aid entry through land crossings which is more immediate & efficient
March 11.
• 67 Palestinians killed, 106 injured in Gaza in past 24 hours
• As Ramadan begins with no ceasefire, Israel escalates attacks across Gaza as massacres in Gaza City killed 16 Palestinians in Sabra + 10 in Tal al-Hawa
• 2 children killed by malnutrition & dehydration in north Gaza as Israel continues obstructing aid distribution; a total of 27 killed by starvation
🌙 Gaza faces another level of hardship during Ramadan as fears mount following Israel’s increased attacks on Mosques + heightened police presence at entrance of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem while Palestinians brace for expected abuse & restrictions
🇺🇸 Politico: Biden considers conditioning military aid to Israel for first time if they invade Rafah; in addition to giving Israel until March 25 to ensure compliance with international law on use of US weapons. Unconfirmed if this will actually happen, but is a new marker of the unprecedented strain on relations
• IOF abducts 25 Palestinians overnight in West Bank
March 11 reminder.
Hi community,
Today marks the first day of the sacred Islamic month of Ramadan in Palestine.
Historically, Israel has made Ramadan a nightmare — many Palestinians feel a creeping anxiety as Ramadan approaches, knowing that Israel usually clamps down more than usual (to understand why, read our post www.instagram.com/p/Cqq4wYDttSY/?igsh=enhjYWllNG4xam9u)
But this Ramadan has come after 5 months of Israel’s genocidal campaign on Gaza, as Palestinians wage a relentless struggle to survive today and liberate tomorrow.
So please, donate to Gazans at linktr.ee/fundsforgaza.
Make sure to boycott Israeli dates (and produce in general).
Be respectful and remember that this is not a normal time.
May we draw strength from our communities as we support Palestinians in Gaza and continue the fight to disrupt our governments’ complicity in this genocide. We can’t afford to stop.
(End Quote)

March 25, 2024 - Sunday | Ramadan Challenge 15/30
Day 15: islamic lecture series / podcast / book recommendations:
Lecture series: 1, Moments of the Qur'an (Miftaah Institute) - A month-long discussion every Ramadan about each Juz. I love it because the imam and mufti are actual brothers lol and they banter in a way only siblings can. Also It's very very reflective and makes you think of things in ways you haven't before. All the brothers are also great models of brotherhood and treating parents properly. I learn a lot from them. 2. Seerah of the Prophet by Yasir Qadhi - The best thing about this is that he brings out every single opinion that exists from the scholars. You really get to know the prophet as a person as opposed to just learning a bunch of events like you might do from a book. Honestly this series changed my life and gave me such a connection with the prophet. Before this, I had always wondered how ppl felt such personal love toward him. Honestly I also love it because it's like storytime lol I love hearing stories
Book: 3. In the Early Hours (By Khurram Murad) - This book is great honestly. It's not dense like many informational islamic literature tends to be. It wastes no time and speaks directly to you and unveils the truth of life and how to succeed to you lol. This is one of my fave quotes:
"Indeed the one who is unsure of his destiny in life, torn between this world and the next, like one standing with his feet in two separate boats, will be thrown off balance."
It's a great book for people who have decided to begin a journey to improve themselves Islamically. Usually those types of books are full of boring basics but this book is full of so many profound quotable things I def recommend it 10/10.
#Pls feel free to ask me abt any of these if you are curious#i could prob write an essay abt each one lol I didn't get to write everything I wanted abt it without it getting too long#notes#studyblr#studyspo#ramadanchallenge2024
