I LOVE the idea of Amy Rose in the Sonic Movies
and if she's not in it the Sonic Movie 3 in the end credits scene at LEAST I will be so sad.
This is the continuation of This Art Post Here , of my design for a Movie Version of Amy
Here is all the little ideas I had for this AU written down:
(Sorry about the weird format)
I'm not sure how or Why Amy gets to Earth, but I imagine she learns about the heroic Sonic the Hedgehog(maybe she overhears something? Sees a newspaper/newscast? Idk)and begins a search for him.
Amy found the Walkowski's on her own, but when she arrived Tom had taken the boys out for a day of fishing so only Maddie was home.
Maddie was surprised
She may have 3 alein kids, but there will always be a moment of shock and "ANOTHER ONE?!" for her
She gets Amy cleaned up before Tom and the others get back home
It turns into a little fashion show, and Maddie is estatic
Living with little boys she doesnt get the oppertunity for dress up & tea parties often
Only when she's visiting Rachel and Jojo
When the others get home, Maddie gathers them in the kitchen/living room before bringing Amy in
- Tom faints
- "There's a GIRL now?!" — Tom
- Sonic is super excited to meet another hedgehog is slips his mind that shes a girl.
- and then it clicks and he's like
- "wait she's a girl-Oh my god shes a girl ive never met a girl what do i say she's really cute ulchhfccvjvukzkg"
- Reverse Sonamy, I'm a total sucker for it!
- Tails is curious as to who she is and why she's here
- Knuckles is wary of a new face
- Amy gets overwhelmed and summons her Piko Piko hammer
- Knuckles is no longer wary
- "Ah! Clearly you are a Warrior, here to join as a member our clan in protecting the master Emerald!"
- Amy ends up becoming a member even if it wasn't her orginal intention for meeting them.
Rachel, as we know, doesnt't really any of the Sonic characters.
- EXCEPT Amy.
- She's pretty, pink, and she refuses to let the other boys taint her!
- "Maddie you can't be serious about letting such an angel stay with those ruffions you call your kids! No, NUh-Uh, I'm taking this one you already have 3."
- Rachel takes in Amy to live with her and Jojo in San Francisco
- JoJo looks up to Amy like an older sister
- Maddie sends Amy off with her iconic red dress.
- When Sonic first sees her in it, he runs with his super speed all the way back to his old burrow, screams, and runs back and pretends it didnt happen.
- Amy enjoys listening to Music with Wade when he picks her up from the airport to visit the Walkowski's
- Tom took Amy fishing, as he's done all the kids, and it turns out Amy already knows how to fish!
- She's not bad at it, average skill
- She says someone named Big the Cat taught her
- She plays baseball with the Walkowski's
- She's incredible at the bat, but is no match for Sonic's speed being able to catch any home run she hits
- At least when Sonic is able to snap out of his admiral-gaze at her in time to do so.
- Sonic is totally down hard for Amy, thinks shes so cool and totally out of his leauge(No Baseball Pun intended)
- Amy is oblivious to this
- Amy also thinks Sonic is cute, but is overall good friends with all of team Sonic
- Knuckles thinks Amy is a good mate for Sonic. Someone strong to protect and provide for his little brother
- Knuckles also sees Amy as a friendly rival, someone almost if not as strong as he is
- Tails doesnt fully understand what Knuckles is talking about with "mating" and why Sonic always blushes around her but he enjoys Amy's attention and praise about his inventions
Thats all I have right now, but I'm glad I was finally able to write down this idea lol!
(Again, PERFECT TIME TO POST THIS when the new trailer for Sonic 3 dropped today!)
I really hope you all liked this!
Pls Reblog&Comment&Like!
EDIT: Sonic 3 Spoilers!!!

So I've been reading toa and I'm nearly done with the burning maze and one thing that sticks out to me is ... All the characters HATE Apollo 😭 I genuinely can't think of a single character who seems to like him or enjoy his company or has been nice to him so far. And in the beginning it made sense because he was honestly insufferable but by this point he seems to have learned a lot of humanity. I mean he literally sacrificed his life for his friends about two or three times in this book already and absolutely no one cares 💀 maybe it's just me but I feel like no one likes him and that's sad
anon i totally get what you’re saying and I think TBM is the worst offender when it comes to Apollo’s happiness and health and friendship. Rick Riordan was sooooooooo wrong and will not see the pearly gates for not making a bigger deal of Lester sacrificing himself. But you must remember that:
1) Apollo is a very unreliable narrator and, despite pretending to think everyone adores him, he is actually very insecure and anxious about being liked. He takes any and all reactions that are not a 100 thousand % happy and joyful as annoyed and antagonistic. If the people that he seems to think dislike him actually disliked him, he would never get anything done: I can’t think of a single character who got as much help as him. Considering how much of an asshole he used to be, that’s a pretty big deal, and he does have a talent for earning the loyalty, or at least the allyship, of people who used to resent him pretty easily (Leo, Calypso etc).
2) I know it’s brutal out there, but don’t forget some people canonically and explicitly like him! Leo, Meg, Rachel, Nico (okay, I’m pushing it with calling it canonical, but I really do think so), his children, Chiron (somehow), Harley, Crest. Keep in mind that you have two books left to go and you’ll get to meet some really nice folks. Even Piper, before the mess happened, seemed to enjoy his company. It’s not so bleak :)
3) Demigods just have a different way of showing love and are hardened, sarcastic people who also happen to be middle schoolers and teenagers (the meanest motherfuckers you’ll ever meet). For example, it’s canon that Meg ADORES him and would die for him yet she treats him the way she does almost all the time (you will get too see occasional moments of honesty and vulnerability from her as you go on). I just don’t think they hate him because they poke fun at him or tease him, even when it gets a bit mean. Which brings me to the last point.
4) Demigods and magical creatures have big, legitimate reasons to hate and resent the gods. I do think some of them are mean or dismissive towards Apollo as retribution, and as much as I’m defensive over him and I wish they STOPPED, it’s realistic. If anything, we should focus on how impressive it is that Apollo manages to survive so much shit and earn as many allies as he does as a mortal when he literally acted like The Worst Person Ever for so long. It speaks to his real character, and shows how much he really is a People Person even when he’s not trying hard.
Sorry for the essay anon (🫣) and I hope my answer satisfied you!!

Fandom asks for MCU <3! 3, 5 (Loki), 6, 9, 17 (Tony), 22 (Emma)
3. NoTP?
Scott Summers/Jean Grey, Logan/Jean Grey, Anyone/Jean Grey (I mean, if I have to have her around in a fic and shipped with anyone, it's usually another character I don't dig either), Steve Rogers/Peggy Carter, Anyone/Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers/Sharon Carter, Steve, Bucky, Sam/Brock Rumlow, Tony Stark/Pepper Potts (I mean, I can deal with their relationship as a past relationship turned best friends, but I'm not gonna read or write their ship as I think they weren't really healthy for each other - like Ross and Rachel.) Loki/Grandmaster (I will make references to it as a past thing that Loki did for survival but he hates it). Loki/Thor (There's some pretty-pretty artwork out there, and I will acknowledge that it's gorgeous and can enjoy it as artwork, but as an actual pairing, no. Just not my thing.)
5. Out of all your fanworks that include [Loki], which is your favourite?
Obviously, my on-going WIP series Hemispheres would be the top of that favorite list, but then I'd have to say I'm torn between these two:
What's on your mind, half of the time, (brother mine)
and
A little shy and sad of eye but very wise was he
Both of them feature Loki in vulnerable moments. The first one, he's like 5 and tiny and adorable and scared of the storm. He gets to meet a stranger who boosts his confidence a little. And the second one, he comes back after a grueling time in Asgard with Thor, who's still being far too bullying, and his friends and is really low about it, and Tony gathers everyone up to make a blanket fort (as Loki's never experienced one before), order Loki's favorite take-out, and watch movies to comfort him. Wholly self-indulgent on the comfort side.
6. Show us a bit of a WIP!
From "Too weird to live, too rare to die" (Justin Hammer/Loki)
“So Loki made friends with Natasha by helping her with mission stuff?” Justin roped them back around to the other topic.
Nodding, he answered, “Yeah. He did some spellwork for her. Imbued it into a piece of jewelry that essentially all she’s gotta do is think about how she wants to look, and that’s how she looks. The spell lasts as long as she needs it to, and then when she’s ready to not look different, she just thinks of herself and bam. Nat again. No more dying her hair unless she wants to, no more contacts, no more tech that can blitz out on her.”
Justin looked impressed. A little skeptical, him being a tech and science guy like Tony, especially tech, but still impressed. He wondered how Loki’s ‘magic’ could be utilized in their own tech, but he figured Tony had already been thinking about that.
“Nice. Sounds like he’s much better as an ally than an adversary,” Justin remarked as he finished with the last of the dishes. He dried his hands and hung up the towel again.
Tony took in how easily Justin took on the domestic task of dishes. Seems like he learned some humility in prison, after all, and wasn’t looking to be waited on anymore. Perhaps there was hope for guys like them after all.
“Much better as an ally, though don’t let the gentle smiles and the fun tea parties he has with Morgan fool you. He’s still dangerous when he wants to be. He’s like a cat. Don’t rub him the wrong way or you’ll find his claws slashing your hamstrings,” he joked, but the serious look in Tony’s eyes said he wasn’t actually joking.
Justin walked over to the fridge, grabbing a glass along the way, and filled it up with ice and water. He took Tony’s glass from him to fill it up, too, and handed it back, refusing to see the pleasant surprise in that gaze that followed him around to take a seat at one of the tall chairs at the counter. Cold, pure water rushed down his throat and gave him time to think of how to respond to what Tony said. Setting the glass on the counter, Justin turned it around and around, watching as the water remained calm even in its movement.
“You think Loki’s dangerous to people here and you let him stay? He’s really close to Morgan from what I hear. I don’t see him much. Passing in the halls, when we eat. That’s about it, but your kid adores him.” Justin let out a breathy laugh. “I think she adores all of us, though, so I think that’s just her. Big heart.” Like her dad.
Moving across the kitchen so he could belly up to the counter next to Justin, Tony took a drink of his water and set the glass down. Two men, both at one time consumed by the big buck, by reputation and prestige and power, by controlling the playing field where weapons and tech were concerned, rivals – not bitterly so but rivals nevertheless, now sitting side by side, drinking fucking water for fuck’s sake, when they used to be dripping in the finest whiskey and women. Burying the hatchet, and not in each other’s skulls.
Tony never would’ve believed it could happen, especially not after he and Rhodey had to face down Vanko and the shitstorm he brought that Justin bankrolled.
It was kind of nice, though, given that one of the last people Tony’d wronged in the past had injected his ex with Extremis, which still made Pepper a fiery handful to deal with, but at least, they’d gotten a handle on it for her so that she did set people on fire with her fists anymore. While he’d never specifically wronged Justin the way he had Aldrich Killian (and really wronged was a little strong for just saying he’d been a spoiled dismissive asshole), he had been a dismissive asshole, which pushed Justin to make one of the worst decisions of his life.
“I don’t think Loki’s a danger to Morgan ever,” Tony finally stated and tilted his head to meet Justin’s curious stare. “I don’t think Loki’s a danger to me or Bruce or probably not Thor anymore. Not since we’ve all sorta ganged up on Thor and told him not to be a dick to his brother. The stabbing’s stopped at any rate. You, though. He doesn’t know you well enough yet, so I’d just say...tread carefully. You never know when you’ll end up on a mission with him.”
“Yeah, about that,” a voice from behind them announced.
Tony and Justin swiveled their seats.
Phil Coulson met their eyes.
9. Write a recommendation of someone else's fic you enjoyed!
Okay look, I have so many bookmarks and fics I could recommend that are tear-jerkers, kept me on the edge of my seat through months and months, that made me swoon, and I could easily give any and all of those. I could and I would! But this asks for one fic, and I'm gonna go with one that made me LOL so hard it woke up dog up from a nap in the other room and had my sister asking me if I was okay because for a second, I couldn't breathe.
Clark's Chicken by @kleenexwoman
I don't normally read DC fanfic. I like DC okay enough to know generally who the major players are, but I'm not invested. However, I am invested in my friends and their creative sparks, unless I'm just really not at all into a particular fandom. I can't really write a full review to say what it's about other than it's not exactly safe for work, definitely not for kids, though teenagers would love this, I think. I think that's why I love it - I'm still 12 and masturbation and fart jokes make me giggle. (There are no fart jokes in this, but discussion around masturbation is.) I want as many people as possible to read this fic because all the laughter in the world could finally heal humanity, I think, and if we could all laugh our asses off at this one, it could drive out the darkness all around us these days. Seriously, I believe this fic has the potential to lighten the world, to drive out the fascists, to heal the sick and sad, to build a protective bubble around the vulnerable - all through the laughter that this fic will grace people with. READ IT AND LEAVE KLEENEXWOMAN SOME LOVE ON IT.
17. What's a book, movie, or show you think [Tony] would like?
Book - American Gods - He really rooted for the New Gods at first, especially Technical Boy and Media, but somewhere in it, he really dug Mr. Wednesday, Mr. World (and especially Mr. World's reveal).
Movie - Real Genius
Show - McGyver (remake)
22. Give us a headcanon for [Emma]
So many people give Emma shit for being cold, stand-offish, and snobby, and because of this, Emma performs that to perfection. However, around those who see past this barrier, she's loving, warm, tender, kind, encouraging, compassionate, and has one of the biggest hearts they've ever met - and she uses her big bucks to take care of the people she loves.
Thanks for the asks!!!

Hi, idk if you're doing asks for Storyteller Synthetis yet, but I'm prolly gonna forget this if I don't type it out now. Anyway, do you have any ideas on how the main characters might sound, or their voice claims? :o
hihihi!! i actually have been thinking about this a bit already, so here are my vauge ideas:
Sylvie's voice is fairly mature and a tad bit low, but not super flat. she doesn't speak as often as some of the other characters, and she doesn't show as much emotion through her voice (until [REDACTED FOR SPOILER REASONS]). i imagine her with the voice Rachel Chau does as Stelle from hsr!!
V speaks pretty flatly most of the time, but when she gets emotional she gets EMOTIONAL. im thinking like Marissa Lenti as Siffrin in jelloapocalypse's isat streams, but a little flatter and maybe with a bit of vocal fry. i just know how amazing Lenti is with emotional scenes and her voice would be perfect :3
Xenon's voice is a little monotone. it's not super deep and i can see a lot of voice actors doing an amazing job with them, but my first thought was Alejandro Saab. think Jing Yuan's cadence, but slightly higher and just a bit more monotone!!
Kori is the one i have the least clear idea of in my head. i know i want her to have a higher pitch with a little vocal fry. i know ive heard characters with the voice im thinking of. i can't remember any of them off the top of my head for some reason. i think the closest to what im thinking is Siv Ryan as Trixie from epithet erased :3
all of these are just like. initial thoughts. and the game definitely won't have voice acting because that costs an amount of money that i don't have asdfdhgkljl. but i hope you enjoy my thoughts about the party's voices :D

Your thoughts on how popularity is supposed to trump all trauma, and so Quinn and Santana need to just shut up and be grateful is maybe why Promasaurus is so frustrating to me. Because it's like the writers pick and choose when popularity matters. Sometimes a desire for it deserves to be punished, sometimes it's true, heartwarming validation. Quinn is evil two years in a row for caring about it, despite both times being in a mental state where it actually makes a TON of sense for her to crave that reassurance. But then Rachel is given the honor despite zero narrative set-up for it, and we're not only expected to think it's earned because of HER "hardships" (sorry, I cannot even take her S3 arc seriously considering the writers knew full well the entire time none of it was going to matter), but we're supposed to view Santana as a bad guy for stripping her of the illusion of what it actually meant 2 seasons later. I mean, honestly, being given Prom Queen by her two ex-rivals who truly know her, could arguably be seen as MORE meaningful than just a bunch of hypothetical votes from people who just voted for her because they were already voting for her bf. But nope, NOW that validation from strangers matters and is okay to care about. But when Santana and Quinn cared in S2-3, for, quite frankly, WAY more understandable reasons? THEN it was proof of shallowness.
No no see what you don't get Anon is that when Rachel enjoys popularity and actively envies it she's Valid and it's a good thing to want and she deserves that moment of glory. When Finn caves to peer pressure because he's desperate to retain his position it's understandable really, don't be so hard on the guy he's trying his best and is really good at heart even when he doesn't lift a finger to stop bullies. When Quinn and Santana want popularity and are desperate to maintain it? Bad! Bad bad people, look how rotten they are in their single-minded pursuit. Never mind that Quinn's fall from grace is brutal and people keep reinforcing that she's only worth anything as a pretty face, and never mind that Santana's need for validation comes from a deep fear of people finding out she's queer and therefore inevitably an outsider. Never mind that both of their desires come from deeply fucked up familial backgrounds and the general need to be loved. As much as Rachel's or Finn's needs. But when they want it they're good and righteous and the people who don't like them can suck, whereas Quinntana are bad bad shallow people, ew why do you wanna be liked and accepted? Pathetic. Hope this helps!
Give me one valid reason for your double standard Glee I'm begging you. Give me one reason not to judge Finn "faggy lamp" Hudson as harshly for caving under peer pressure as you want me to judge Quinn for obsessing over Prom Queen. Give me one reason why Rachel's allowed the eternal underdog narrative where her "winning" Prom Queen is triumphant but Santana seeking validation while being a queer Latina woman in a bigoted environment that has only ever seen her as a whore, that makes her shallow. And I don't even think Glee is always judging Quinntana, for example the portrayal of the three-way gay lovers scene in Prom Queen is surprisingly sympathetic. Wait, what, it wasn't supposed to be a montage of three gays freaking out and their lovers reassuring them? Huh. Okay, anyway.
It generally is a character-based double standard. When our "baddies" want to conform to the high school social hierarchy they're weak-willed and rather pathetic, really, but the Good Underdogs are allowed simultaneous martyr and superiority complexes. And when they are validated by the mainstream? That's a sign of their awesomeness, of course. My eventual Glee magnum opus will be tearing this underdog obsession a new one because it drives me crazy how unaware this show is that all these kids and the conventionally attractive aren't any less traumatized. I mean that's just another big aspect of this.
You know who the only character above all this high school nonsense is who actually keeps their integrity even when getting the upper hand? Mercedes Jones. But idk if y'all are ready for that conversation.
On the note of Santana's big blow to Rachel during 100 being the Prom reveal, holy shit I think you really tapped into something there Anon. Obviously Santana was meant to be and succeeded in being cruel but I never vibed with people pretending that it was oh so big a deal that she told Rachel. To be clear, yeah it was a dick move but my god can you stop pretending it was the most evil thing. After the Pezberry feud dust settled, I really hope Rachel investigated what that revelation meant, exactly. Because you're so right, what means more? A bunch of random peers voting for her, for no reason really (how did she believe it was real) OR two girls who had once bullied her but learned to love and appreciate her giving up their own pursuit of this mighty title and deciding to give it to her. Rachel literally says "do you not understand what you mean to me" to Quinn JUST before the coronation happens and goes on a whole spiel about Quinn's friendship meaning the most out of anything to her. Girl. If it really meant that much to be able to form that connection then surely it should be at least just bittersweet instead of devastating that a bunch of randos didn't, in fact, randomly vote for you. It was the two girls you have endeared yourself to. And again, Santana was being a jerk and cruel on purpose and boo that sucks, whatever, jail for Santana. But it's not like Rachel didn't still come out as a winner of that situation. It's not like she was the victim of a cruel prank like Kurt and Tina at their proms.
Whatever lmao let's not digress into a whole Prom-asaurus/Pezberry feud rant. (watch "and another thing!" this later)
#this isn't anti rachel btw i think her need for love is valid#but so is quinntana's#it is anti finn though because everything i say is#glee asks#anon#the underdog of it all#have i used that tag before i should have#fapezberry

Such Sharp Teeth by Rachel Harrison
Look at what the world has done to us and look at what we're doing to each other because of it.
Ooohh... A Werewolf Novel... Exciting! Except nope... not exciting. Not exciting at all. My God this was the pure definition of amateur storytelling. How the shit did this get published? It reads like mediocre fan-fiction of a CW show. And not one of the good ones, like iZombie. One of the awful ones, like every single one that isn't iZombie. It's a tired idea to start with in 2022; lycanthropy mirroring pregnancy, the invasive transformation into werewolf as a metaphor for trauma and the simple act of being a woman. Yawn. What makes it worse is apparently Rachel Harrison has never met anyone who actually came from a small town. All of her characters are so painfully superficial (I liked Ash, though... she seemed sweet), and none of them are anything less than beautiful. So yeah, definitely a CW shit-show. Then there's the actual werewolf transformations and attacks, every word of which made me question once again how this ever got published. It's rushed and cliche and lacking of any sense of danger, terror or, hell, any mood whatsoever. It's like she was writing the book already assuming the VFX team would fix it in post. We need more werewolf books, but not like this. Please, God, not like this. This was my first Rachel Harrison book. This was very likely my last Rachel Harrison book. Then again, I'm clearly not this book's key demographic. If you're a late-teens/early-twenties woman and you're already wild about Rachel Harrison, love Riverdale or are simply looking for some extremely entry-level horror fiction, dive in and enjoy. I hope you love it.
3/10

ok so I’ve just finished The Wilds s2 and there is a lot to unpack... spoilers below
first off, we really need a season 3 now. I’ll admit though this season had its flaws, the ending was good. I can’t imagine any of the other girls being the operative- like it’s a good cliffhanger but the we as a audience have learned to love the girls and I think if one of them is reveled to be another operative it will ruin that. I hope its the boys that are the operatives.
now lets talk about the main stars of the show - the girls:
shelby & toni - i love them, they have become my comfort ship. I think the writers did them justice too, ofc there can also be more wlw representation but compared to what we are used to, it was quite good. they had very cute moments but also real moments. they communicated which is so refreshing to see. it’s a healthy relationship. I don’t know if they have broken up. I want to say no and that they are just going through a rough patch. I think how it all went down with Martha was perfect like they both know the other so well. some things to note as well that I though was good: Martha being happy for shoni, “babe” & “bee”, Toni being a a fat fucking simp, HONESTY, Shelby cutting her hair (hot). I will also add since season 1 I was waiting for a bunker reunion ( I’m a sap for a fucking reunion) and I was not pleased with what I got.
Ok let’s talk about Leah and Rachel: Loved it. Loved their whole relationship, the co dependency, the “we’re both fucked might as well be fucked together” attitude. Some of their scenes were the best in the whole show and made me laugh so much.
Leah fucking wins: big props to Sarah Pigeon. Some of the best acting I’ve seen in along time. The facial expressions that sly looking at the camera. Fucking amazing. Also the Ben folds bit - top notch. And she’s confirmed bi!?! Hats of to all you leatin stans
Dot: I’m sad dot got less screen time I mean she deserved better!!!
Martha: I feel for her. So much. She deserves so much more. I liked that she didn’t want to break up Toni and Shelby ( like you lot were speculating). I’m glad she’s ok and I hope she’s not the operative. She has too much to deal with already.
That’s brings me on to Fatin: I love the mom bit that she really truly cares for them all which makes my heart warm. She really is the rock of the group. The scene with fatin and Shelby under the tree is so wholesome they both understand each other so well.
I will only say this about the boys: I gave them a chance like the cast said to and I mean it’s not like they were bad. It’s just I didn’t care about them. I started to watch this show because of the girls and I still watch because of the girls. I understand they wanted to expand with the boys being added but I felt like they could of done that with out going into as much detail as they did. I was fully sucked into the girls scenes then the boys came on screen and each time I lost more and more interest in them. But I will say Kirin best boy and Henry singing mcr was actually fucking great. Oh and fuck Seth.
Overall this season was very good, I don’t know if it’s season 1 good but if you forget about the boys a bit and focus on the girls it’s actually alright
I want to add my favourite scenes were all girl scenes obviously but three that stand out are the singing home scene, the unpacking of the party box and Shelby going beast mode on planing a birthday party.
This season was very funny and I enjoyed that.
If you haven’t read the fields notes I recommend, my favourite one is that Toni owns up to her farts.
Lastly I want to say that these are my opinions and you do not have to agree with me. They are also subject to change as I will rewatch over the next few weeks and change my overview completely.
Thanks for reading my unhinged thoughts (it’s currently 3am and I haven’t slept in over 24 hrs :) & sorry for my bad spelling and grammar )
xoxo dino :)

Panel Pt. 3
Florence Pugh X Female Reader
Hey everyone! I really had a fun time writing this chapter and already started the next! Ohhh boy the next one is gonna be exciting!
Let me know if you want to be tagged!
Concept: You go to Comic-Con and attend a Florence Pugh panel. What happens after surprises you. Part 3/?
I hope you enjoy!
Word Cound: 1731
Tag List:
@jeyramarie @flosbelova @bridgecitybrad
You arrive there, waiting for them to open the doors when a man approaches you wearing a yellow jacket labelled “security”.
“Hello ma’am, is your name y/n y/l/n?” He askes.
“Uhh yes? Did I do something wrong?” You reply with a confused look on your face.
“No ma’am. I was just asked to let you in first to allow you any seat you would like.” He says.
“Oh...okay cool..thank you?” You say still seeming fairly confused.
You are assuming this has something to do with Florence because what else would it be. You follow the man through the doors to an empty room filled with seating. You feel almost a little awkward walking down the aisle alone with nobody else there. You pick a seat in the front row because well...why wouldn’t you? And just scroll through your phone for a little in anticipation of the panel starting soon. After about five minutes has passed, you hear the doors behind you open and people flood in filling the seats at an extremely fast pace.
The crowd begins to quiet down a little and you look up to see the host walking out on stage. He begins his introduction and then proceeds to announce the celebrities that would be up on stage today. He starts with announcing Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, to then Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, followed by Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Weisz, David Harbour and finally Florence Pugh. When her name is announced and she walks out on stage you can feel butterflies in your stomach. She is waving one hand to all the fans while scanning the crowd looking for you. The two of you lock eyes and the biggest smile comes across her face.
The panel started and the actors are cracking up everyone in the room with behind-the-scenes stories of their respective shows and movies. About halfway through, your phone buzzes, you look down to see Florence texted you while she was on stage.
“Come to the side of the stage when we walk off at the end ;)”
A small grin creeps across your face when you see the winky face at the end of the text. You look up and see her looking at you and she gives you a small smile before looking away. You couldn’t help but wonder what she had planned, maybe she just wanted to say hi before leaving because today is her last day at the convention. Or maybe she wanted to grab a bite to eat together after the panel. Either way, you were feeling excited yet nervous because you still had about 30 minutes to go before you got to talk to her again.
Those 30 minutes dragged out to be about 45 but it felt like 10 hours had passed. Although you watch online interviews with these actors all the time and they fly by like nothing, the anticipation of meeting up with Flo after made everything feel like it was moving in slow motion. Everyone is saying their goodbyes and they begin to walk off stage, you immediately get up and start walking the opposite way of the crowd who was heading for the exits. You get close to the gate that separates the crowd from the celebrities when security stops you. As you are about to start explaining you hear a familiar accent scream out
“Oh no! My bad! She’s with me!! Let her through!”
The security guard opens the gate for you and you’re greeted with open arms, you go into hug Florence as she embraced you tightly.
“Ah, it’s so good to see you again love! Did you enjoy the show?” She asks.
“I did! It was honestly so surreal to see all of you out in front of me when I am usually watching you through my TV.” You reply.
“That’s great to hear. Well, I was just wondering if you would like to go out for a bite to eat with me and some friends?”
“Some friends? Y-yeah sure.”
“Wonderful! Want to walk back to the hotel with me so I can change and then we can head to the restaurant together too?” She asks.
“Yes for sure, sounds good, let’s go.”
The two of you walk back to your hotel and go up to Florence’s room.
“Alright love, I’ll only be a second, make yourself at home.” She says.
You sit down on the couch that is facing her room as she walks in to get changed. She closes the door behind her but not all the way. She starts talking loudly to you from her room while she is changing telling you about how much you are going to like her friends when you meet them. As she is talking to you, you are scrolling through Instagram. You start to respond and lift your head to look up in the direction of her room when you realize you could see her changing by the reflection in her mirror. You quickly stand up and walk over to the window as if you are looking out at the cars moving below.
“Sorry, what did you say I missed the end there,” she says as she is walking out into the living room and putting on her earrings.
“Oh- uh- just that I am looking forward to meeting them...your friends.” You say as you feel the red rushing to your cheeks.
“I think you’ll get along very well...as if you already know them all!” She says.
The two of you walk out of the hotel and get into a car waiting for you outside. The car takes you to a small pub about 15 minutes away. On the way, Florence explained that one of her friends knew the owner of the pub and he agreed to close it down for a couple of hours because of fans and paparazzi. The two of you jump out of the car and walk through the door when all of a sudden you hear her friends call over to her.
“Florence! So glad you finally showed up! Lizzie said we had to wait to order for you to show so get over here I am starving!” You hear a familiar voice say.
Holy crap was that Anthony Mackie!? You look up and your eyes widen more than they ever have before. You turn and look at Florence…
“Oh, so the “friends” you invited me out to lunch with are the Avengers?” You say quietly.
“Uhh yeah, I thought you would have guessed that?” She says with a chuckle. Florence thinks you look absolutely adorable all flustered and starstruck by everyone sitting at the table.
The two of you walk towards the table with you looking the most nervous you have ever been. At this point, you are just hoping your face isn’t all red.
“So, you’re the one that Florence hasn’t stopped talking about all morning?”
You look up to see Scarlett Johansson addressing you with one eyebrow raised.
“Uh aha yeah I guess, my name is y/n.” You reply.
“HI Y/N! IT IS REALLY GREAT TO MEET YOU AND I REALLY WOULD LOVE TO GET TO KNOW YOU BUT CAN WE ORDER FOOD BEFORE WE START THE SMALL TALK?” Sebastian announces with a smile.
You chuckle and take your seat in between Florence and Lizzie and across from Scarlett. Once everybody has ordered you start talking to Scarlett and Lizzie.
“So y/n, I hear the two of you had a fun time last night? Scarlett says with a smirk on her face.
You turn and look at Florence as her eyes widen and look right at her starring her down.
“Aha yeah, we had a great time actually! I wish it didn’t have to end but hopefully, we can do something like that again sometime soon.” You reply.
“How about tonight?” Lizzie asks. “But with us included too? I have had a very long week and I wouldn’t mind some girl time!”
Florence looks at you and says “You don’t have to if you don’t want to of course, but I would love to have you over again”.
“I would literally be crazy to turn that down.” You say.
They all laugh.
“Ok, it’s a date!” Scarlett responds.
You all get your food and continue to have what felt like the most amazing moment of your life, getting to talk with people you never thought you’d meet and share stories, and laughs. Florence generously pays for your meal and takes you back to the hotel afterwards.
“Well, that was the most amazing experience...ever!” You say with a big smile as you are hopping on the elevator.
“Aha, I am glad you had so much fun! I have to take a meeting with some people from work but I am looking forward to seeing you again later tonight.” She says.
“Me too, thanks so much again for lunch. Is there anything I can bring tonight?” You ask.
“Nothing at all! I will get someone to pick us up some food and drinks and bring them to my place.”
“Okay great! What time should I come down at?”
“The girls are coming around 6, why don’t you come a bit earlier?” Florence says with a wink.
“Sounds good. See you then!” you say as she is stepping off the elevator.
You are freaking out a little bit internally but realize quickly that you should probably go shower and change so that takes your mind off the fact that you are about to have the best night of your life.

oh gosh is this MORE the wilds season 2 thoughts? yep!
I finished my rewatch, so here are some slightly less unbaked thoughts:
- First of all: I did watch the boys scenes fully this time, and I will say: the boys island timeline is much more enjoyable on a second watch. Part of it is just me being less frustrated by s2′s lack of cohesiveness (i’ve made my peace with it) and thus able to watch the boys scenes without trying to figure out what the show is trying to do in relation to the girls (there is often no parallel or commentary made, so it’s better to enjoy them separately honestly). Part of it is also that on a second watch, already knowing what happens with Seth, it was both more interesting to see his manipulation from the get go, and also less stressful? to watch the aftermath of his sexual assault? I think the problem with giving the boys such a despicable, horrible act of violence to contend with (while the girls did not have to deal with anything like that) is that it made my first watch... kinda stressful? I just remember being so tense after that happened, but not in a good way, if that makes sense, not in a “oh this is good drama”. Not sure why, but knowing how it gets resolved, with its ups and downs, made the storyline easier to digest for me. Also: the frisbee scene was actually really fucking delightful, and my favorite boys group scene for sure.
- However: I still think the boys backstory scenes were a mistake. I get it: that was their formula for s1, and it worked so well for the girls! But they KNEW they were going to have much less time, not only because they still have to give the girls screentime, but also because they only had eight episodes this season! EIGHT! They should have done either very brief snippets, of leave the flashbacks to season 3, I don’t know but they needed to change the structure. It was very messy, and constantly felt like we were wasting time that could have been better used otherwise AND at the risk of repeating myself: there was no thread, to any of the boys backstories. The girls were about teenage girlhood in a sexist society. The boys were about... random individuals. It simply did not work.
- I really wish we’d gotten a girls bunker timeline, apart from the very first episode and the last episode. We got a LEAH bunker storyline - and it was amazing, a highlight of the season for me ; pairing leah with raf and having her interact with faber and young and finally gretchen made for stellar scenes - but a) i really wanted to get some insight in how the other girls are dealing with the bunker, their isolation, the aftermath of the island, and b) I also really wanted a story where all the girls plot their escape together, not just Leah. It would have been so fun.
- Thinking about each of the girls’ arcs this season... It’s interesting, because if you think of them as a GROUP, as “the unsinkable eight”, a collective entity, their development is really well done, and everyone got at least some space to shine within the group dynamics. (Well, apart from the Nora of it all. But her absence did have WEIGHT, which I enjoyed). But as individual characters... I don’t know. I was never afraid for Leah, because she is the protagonist, she’s literally the only girl driving the plot until Fatin and Shelby join her in conspiracy theory land, so the show was always going to give Leah some juicy material. Fatin and Shelby are fan favorites, so they also get a lot of story - especially since Fatin’s arc is so linked to Leah, therefore to the bigger plot. Rachel got some very good scenes, they finally expanded her interactions to almost all the other girls which was fantastic, and I get why s2 focused on the loss of Nora rather than the loss of her hand, given that in s3 presumably she’ll learn that Nora isn’t dead. But I really hope they explore her, you know, AMPUTATION in s3, and what it means to her, for her sense of self. But Martha, Toni and Dot... not too sure what to think of them just yet. There’s some interesting stuff for each of them, certainly, but... I don’t know.
- Last but not least: they really have to start figuring out what they’re doing with Gretchen and the experiment plot, and the show’s overall take on gender and sexism, because I was fine “suspension-of-disbelief-ing” my way through s1, but now the utter lack of clarity has gotten actually frustrating. Not that I’m expecting anything radical from an amazon prime show, but it’d be nice for things to, you know, at least superficially make sense.
#the wilds#random meta#gonna tag this as#long post#because i did just rant a whole lot huh#anyway i am excited for s3 there's a lot they could do#but dreading them having to handle 16 or so ~main characters

Chapter Word Count: ~7,400
Total Fic Word Count: ~30,000
Genre: (Wedding) Fake Dating, Friends to Lovers, lots of bed sharing and every self indulgent fluffy trope possible.
Warnings: None? Lots of fluff? Occasional cussing? Some suggestive themes, moments, and jokes I guess. No smut or anything!
Disclaimer: I am not Daniel Sharman, and I do not pretend to know how he would act, speak, etc. This is fiction okay, there’s a lot of creative license, and potential to be OOC. Ricky isn’t mentioned because I started writing this before we knew he existed, so apologies for that. Also, if you’re DShar himself, please do us both a favor and don’t read this, okay???? Same if you know him 🙈
Title taken from the song Yellow Lights by Harry Hudson which suits this story quite a bit!
A/N: You thought I'd skip all the possibilities and tropes that come with the holidays?! Of course not. This is the final part to Yellow Lights. Thank you all for making my return to writing and posting so wonderful. I am so, so, grateful. I hope the ending lives up to your expectations. <3
The next month and a half passes by uneventfully. I try not to spend all of my time thinking about how great Rachel's wedding was, and equally try to ignore the wistful feeling Henry’s wedding left me with. Having Daniel be my fake boyfriend in front of my family showed me everything that I’d ever wanted; someone who fit in seamlessly, who loved me for me, with the perfect balance of romance and friendship. Whatever crush I had successfully buried when Daniel and I first met is now achingly hard to avoid. I curse my active imagination and optimism for letting me indulge in the moments of pretend, leaning too comfortably into our faade.
As a result, I don’t talk to Daniel much. He is busy finishing filming his project in London, and I try to focus on my life in LA. I’ve become paranoid that every text I send him is one too many, too annoying, or too bothersome. I figure I can reassess things when Daniel comes home from filming, and try to find my footing in our friendship again.
This seems like a solid plan until I’m on Zoom with my family for Thanksgiving. Since I’ve already flown back once this year for the wedding, and I’m planning to fly back again next month for Christmas, staying put for Thanksgiving was the economical choice. The call is mostly uneventful until the subject of Daniel comes up.
“Where’s that boy?” Aunt Judith crows from her spot at the dining table.
“Hmm?” I ask.
“She means Daniel.” Ryan rolls his eyes, bringing the iPad closer to her.
“Oh! Right.” I try to recover. “He’s still away filming his new project, actually, but I was able to fly out to see him at the end of September for another wedding, actually.”
Aunt Judith frowns. “That’s a long time to not see someone that handsome—” I start to laugh, “Are you sure he’s not cheating on you?”
Oh shit. It’s in this moment that I realize Daniel and I had never “broken up” as far as my family knows. I hear the rest of my family start sputtering in the background.
“Aunt Judith— you can’t just—”
“That’s awful, I—”
“It is kind of a long time, huh?—”
I try to keep a straight face. “Guys! It’s okay. He’s an actor, it comes with the territory. I expected this.”
“So you aren’t sure that he’s not cheating on you?” Ryan frowns.
“That isn’t what I meant, Ry. Daniel and I are fine. We’re really good, actually.”
“Well I certainly hope you’ll be bringing him home for Christmas then.” Aunt Judith huffs.
“It would be nice to see him,” Rachel speaks up for the first time, and her husband Nick nods. “I didn’t get to talk to him a whole lot at the wedding.”
I clear my throat, my mind racing. “You know, we haven’t actually talked about what we’re doing for Christmas yet; I’ll have to see what he’s doing— if he’s going to spend it with his family.”
“But you’re still coming home,” Ryan states.
“Yes, I am still coming home, no matter what.”
Ryan and Rachel’s mom, my auntie Kim speaks up. “I think it’s pretty common for a boyfriend to defer to his girlfriend’s family for the holidays. I mean, Ryan splits the day with Katharine of course, but Nick always came here with Rachel.”
“I hear you, Auntie Kim, but Daniel never gets to see his family so I’m not sure— all I’m saying is I’m not sure. He may very well come, and I will let you all know as soon as I know.” I smile tersely.
“Well hurry up, and find out,” Auntie Kim chastises. “Christmas is only a month away.”
When I hang up with them, it’s 7pm and I’m feeling antsy. How could I have forgotten that my entire family still thought Daniel and I were together? I’m not sure how to get out of this one. Tired of panicking alone in my head, I pick up my phone and dial Daniel before I can talk myself out of it. It rings and rings, and my anxiety that he won’t answer grows with each tone.
Eventually I hear rustling on the other line.
“Lauren?” Daniel’s voice crackles through the phone.
“Hi.”
“Are you alright?”
“What? Uh— yeah, I just needed to talk to you about something—” I glance at the time on my phone. “Oh god, no. What time is it there? I’m so sorry— I didn’t even stop to think about the time difference, I—”
I hear him suppress a yawn. “Lauren. It must be pretty important if you’re calling me AND rambling like this.”
“No, no, it can wait, I’m sorry— uh, go back to bed. I’m sorry I woke you up.”
“Lauren,” he stops me softly and firmly. “Stop apologizing. What’s going on?”
I sit quietly, feeling like an absolute idiot.
“Lauren, come on. You can tell me.”
“I— we… we never broke up?”
He laughs. “Sorry, what?”
“We never broke up.”
“Am I still asleep, is this a dream?”
“My family still thinks we’re together and they asked me if you’re coming home for Christmas.”
We’re both quiet for a moment.
“Oh.” is all he says.
“I talked to them for Thanksgiving, and they were asking about you. I realized too late that they thought we were still together— because I never told them we broke up. I didn’t think it through this far.”
“Right, I didn’t either.”
My phone starts ringing, telling me Daniel’s trying to FaceTime me.
I accept, and I’m faced with a dark screen.
“Why are we FaceTiming?”
I hear a lamp click on and suddenly Daniel’s face is illuminated as he lays in bed, lines from his pillow still on his face.
“Figured we should at least be able to see each other if you’re going to break up with me in the middle of the night,” he teases.
I shake my head. “Not funny, this is serious, D.”
“I know, I know.”
“If I break up with you, they’re going to yell at me and tell me I’m a stupid idiot.”
Daniel laughs.
“And if you break up with me they’re going to hate you, which means they’ll hate that we managed to ‘stay friends.’ And if it’s mutual…..” I shake my head, thinking. “They’ll think we were lying.”
“Which we were.”
I sigh, “Which we were.”
“So,” Daniel pulls his blanket up higher. “What are our options here?”
“I don’t know, that’s why I called you.”
I watch him stare off into space and reminisce about when I got to see this sleepy Daniel firsthand in Cape Cod.
“I could come for Christmas…” he trails off and I frown.
“That seems like asking a lot. You’ve already given up a lot of your free time this year for me.”
He shrugs into his pillow. “Do you not want me to come for Christmas?”
I pause. “I mean, that isn’t really the issue here. You have to be tired of being in love with me by now.”
He laughs loudly — a stark contrast to the quiet of his room. “Yes, being in love with you is very exhausting.”
“Tell me something I don’t know.”
“I’m kidding. Being in love with you is not exhausting. At all.”
I roll my eyes and say nothing. “I don’t think I can bear to break your family’s hearts at Christmas of all times.”
“Man of the year.” I drawl. “What are you supposed to be doing for Christmas? Going home?”
“No, usually I travel somewhere, but I hadn't decided yet.”
I hum in response.
“Kind of leaning towards traveling to Massachusetts now, if I’m honest.”
I look at him incredulously, only to see a playful grin on his face, but I know he’s serious.
“I’m not going to stop you if you really want to come. But I—” I swallow. “Eventually we’re going to need to plan for whatever happens after Christmas.”
He nods. “I know, we will. Let’s just enjoy Christmas together, first.”
I smile. “Okay. We can enjoy it. Together.”
He clears his throat. “I hope I’m not too rusty at this boyfriend performance, it’s been a few months.”
“Daniel Sharman has performance issues… I hope that doesn’t get out to the press.”
His eyes flash. “Bold, for you.”
I shrug. “You walked into that one, baby.”
“Well, you’re lucky you’re cute, darling.”
We look at each other for a moment, and I hope my eyes don’t give away how fond I am for this man who is willing to commit to fake-loving me, and putting up with my family, and who is setting the bar way too high for any actual real relationship I could hope for.
So much for reburying my feelings.
I break eye contact first. “I’ll let you get back to sleep. Sorry again for waking you up.”
“Do Not Disturb doesn’t apply to you, Lauren. Call any time.”
I smile softly. “Sweet dreams, I’ll text you tomorrow.”
“Goodnight.”
—-
I’m standing in the Boston Logan airport waiting for international arrivals; specifically Daniel’s flight from London. According to the board, his flight landed 15 minutes ago, so he should be coming to the lobby any time now. I bounce on my feet, simultaneously eager and nervous to see Daniel for the first time since parting ways after Henry and Claire’s wedding.
Eventually I see the hat and sunglasses I recognize from a selfie he sent me earlier, and I can feel my heart race. I begin walking towards him, and feel my pace quicken as I get closer. Eventually he sees me too and he’s grinning at me with his signature toothy smile that I missed so much.
When we come into contact I don’t know what the appropriate response is, so I simply grin up at him.
“Hi,” I breathe.
“Hi,” he smiles back, and before I know it he’s closer than he was before and he’s ducking down to kiss me.
It surprises me but I respond quickly, leaning up to meet him.
When it’s over he pulls back just enough to nuzzle his nose with mine.
“Missed you,” he says softly.
“Missed you most.” I smile.
He stands up straight, adjusting his backpack on his shoulder, threading his other hand through mine.
I can’t see his eyes, but I assume he must be looking around when he speaks.
“Oh, are you by yourself?”
The question catches me off guard.
“Yeah— well, Ryan’s in the car, circling so he wouldn’t have to pay for parking,” I roll my eyes.
He nods, “Sorry, then—“ he makes an inconclusive gesture. “Suppose I didn’t need to kiss you quite yet.”
My stomach drops and I smile tightly, “That’s okay— better safe than sorry. I get it.”
He tugs on my hand pulling me into a hug.
“I did miss you, though.”
“And I still missed you most.” I tease.
Daniel shakes his head, but doesn’t argue, pulling back from me and reaching for his suitcase with his freehand.
“Let’s get this show on the road.”
—-
I bring Daniel upstairs to show him around, and so he can put his suitcase in my room.
“Welcome to my childhood bedroom,” I announce, opening the door and leading Daniel inside.
“Wow, where little Lauren grew up,” Daniel teases looking around. When I first arrived home yesterday, I was quick to tidy up, and hide anything that was too embarrassing, but my room is more or less the exact same as I had left it when I was 18 and moving to college.
I nod. “Yes, many secrets to my backstory can be discovered in here.”
Daniel laughs.
Ryan appears in my doorway leaning against the doorframe.
“Just so you know, Daniel, my bedroom is on the other side of this wall,” he nods to his right. “I can hear everything that happens in here. The walls are thin.”
I frown, blushing, “Ew, Ryan.”
Daniel just laughs and smirks, “Got it, bro.”
I look at him incredulously, “Don’t encourage him.”
The two share a look and shrug, seemingly equally enjoying my discomfort.
“Dinner’s ready!” Auntie Kim calls up to us.
I use that as my cue, brushing past both of them to go downstairs, leaving their laughter behind me.
—-
After Christmas Eve dinner, Katharine stops by and the four of us decide to watch the classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I’m the last to arrive in the living room, and when I enter I immediately notice that Ryan is cuddled up with Katharine, and sprawled out over the entire couch, leaving Daniel sitting in the only other seat— the armchair.
I narrow my eyes at them, “Are you guys for real?”
Ryan looks at us and hums innocently, “What?”
“You took the entire couch.”
I see Katharine bite her lip in amusement, as Ryan shrugs.
“I assumed you guys would cuddle anyway. Can you not share the armchair?”
Daniel intervenes, “Of course we can. C’mon Laur.”
He pats his lap. I hesitate briefly before nestling into his lap, tucking my head into his neck.
“Am I crushing you?” I whisper.
“Not at all, you’re keeping me warm.”
I huff a laugh as he puts the blanket over us and Ryan starts the movie. The steady rise and fall of his chest brings me a sense of peace and I have to try not to fall asleep, especially when his fingers gently caress my arm and my leg where he’s holding me to him. I exhale, turning further into his neck and nuzzling into him.
“Tickles,” he breathes, just shy of a whisper.
“You smell good,” I tell him, letting my eyes close.
His chuckle reverberates through his body. “Thanks, darling.”
I feel my eyes shut and sleep take over. I start to come to when I hear the ending song come on, and it drifts into whatever dream I’m having.
“She asleep?” I hear Ryan ask.
“Think so,” Daniel answers.
“You need help waking her up?”
“No, I’ve got it, thanks though. Nice seeing you, Katharine.”
I hear footsteps retreat and feel a series of kisses pressed to my shoulder, as Daniel’s long fingers brush hair away from my face.
“Time to wake up, pretty girl. You can go back to sleep once we’re in your bed.”
I shake my head no, clinging to him tighter.
“Like this bed.” I murmur drowsily.
He laughs softly. “Promise we can cuddle there too.”
“Promise?” I ask, peeking one eye open.
“I promise,” he confirms, pressing one more kiss to my shoulder.
I lift my head to look at him, rubbing my eyes.
“There she is,” he smiles gently at me.
I smile back sleepily, the words coming out before I fully think them through.
“Wanna know a secret?”
“Tell me.”
I swallow, letting my gaze flicker down to his mouth for just a moment. “I like cuddling with you.”
“You do, huh?”
I nod.
“Well the feeling’s mutual. Let’s go upstairs and brush our teeth so we can cuddle more in your bed.”
“Okay,” I relent, getting off of him. He stands up after me and I instinctively lace my fingers with his, leading us back upstairs. When we’re brushed and changed, we settle ourselves in bed and I claim my spot tucked into his neck again.
“Sweet dreams,” he says, kissing the top of my head. I echo the sentiment and gently kiss the spot on his neck I’m closest to. His arms tighten around me and I’m falling asleep again.
—-
For once, I wake up before Daniel. He looks peaceful as he sleeps on his stomach, his arm across my waist, face half smushed into the pillow. I turn my head to look at the clock to see it’s about 9:30 and know the others will be waking up soon. I turn back to Daniel and card my fingers gently through his hair. Eventually his breathing changes and his eyes flutter open, still clouded with sleep.
“Merry Christmas,” I whisper, our faces just inches apart.
He pulls himself closer to me, nuzzling into my side and closing his eyes again. “Merry Christmas.”
It’s quiet for a moment before he speaks again, voice raspy with sleep. “Is everyone else awake?”
“No, I don’t think so. I haven’t heard anyone up and around… they might be soon. Usually we kind of wander downstairs around 10, and it’s just past 9:30.”
He hums in response.
“You can go back to sleep for a little while if you want,” I offer, still running my fingers through his hair. “I’ll wake you when it’s time to go downstairs.”
I start to think he’s drifted off to sleep again when he opens his eyes and looks at me. “No, I can get up. I want to give you your present.”
I narrow my eyes at him. “I told you not to get me anything; you coming here like this with me— twice— is more than enough.”
He rolls his eyes, detaching himself from me and rolling out of bed. “And look like the asshole who didn’t get his girlfriend anything for Christmas? Not a chance.”
I sit up. “We could’ve lied about it—”
“Lauren,” Daniel looks back at me exasperatedly, leaning over his suitcase. “It’s Christmas. Please just open your present.”
He pulls out a neatly wrapped, thin rectangle and places it in my lap, sitting next to me on the bed.
“Merry Christmas, Laur.”
I carefully unwrap the package to reveal a framed art print, with a circle of stars in the middle; underneath it says “The Night Everything Changed” with the coordinates of what I assume to be Los Angeles. I look up to him with soft eyes, and he gives a one shouldered shrug.
“Saw an ad for this online— where you can get the night sky documented of any night you want, anywhere you want. I thought it would be nice to commemorate this past year, for us…” he trails off, and I hug the frame to my chest.
“Daniel, I love it— Really, really love it. It’s so thoughtful.” I reach out and thread our fingers together. “I’m going to hang this in my room. I want it somewhere I see every day.”
He smiles and squeezes my hand. “I’m glad you like it. I actually wanted to talk to you about something— in relation to this. I—”
We’re interrupted by a light knocking on the door, and we both turn.
“Are you guys awake?” Ryan’s voice calls.
“Yeah, we’ll be out in a sec!” I answer.
I turn back to Daniel who squeezes my hand and moves to get up, but I pull him back.
“They can wait; this is special. I want to hear what you have to say.” I smile at him warmly, but he shakes his head, lifting the back of my hand to kiss it.
“It’s alright, I’d rather wait and tell you when we have more time to talk.”
I frown. “Promise me you won’t forget?”
He laughs. “Trust me, I won’t forget.”
He moves to stand, pulling me up with him to go downstairs, but I stop him, wrapping my arms around him tightly.
“Thank you, D. It means a lot to me.”
He returns my embrace, placing a kiss to the top of my head.
When we pull apart, I take his hand again. “Time for Christmas. Your present is under the tree, by the way.”
Daniel laughs. “A present double-standard.”
I shake my head and lead him out of the room.
—-
I think we’re done with presents when Ryan surprises me, coming over to Daniel and I on the loveseat.
“This is for both of you, kind of.” He hands me a thin, narrow gift.
Daniel looks up, surprised. “Thanks, man. That was thoughtful of you.”
He looks at me, silently asking, did you know about this?, and I shake my head no.
I unwrap the package to find a small frame, with a one hundred dollar bill matted in the middle. I look at Ryan and furrow my eyebrows.
“It's the hundred bucks I said I’d give you if you brought a real date to Rachel’s wedding. Seeing as the same guy is here for Christmas I figured you earned it. Thought I’d frame it— but you can take it out and spend it on a date or something, I don’t care.”
Auntie Kim squints. “Sorry, you told her what?”
I roll my eyes and try to avoid the way my stomach sinks at the reminder of how this all started.
I feel Daniel’s hand on my knee. “Clever, Ryan.”
I look over at him to see him flashing his polite interview smile, and I instantly know he knows exactly what I’m feeling.
Auntie Kim stands and stretches. “I don’t get it, but I’m going to go start breakfast. Your sister and Nick are picking up Judith soon and then they’re coming over. Katharine isn’t coming until dinner, right, Ryan?”
As Ryan confirms, she walks out of the room. Ryan turns back to us. “Mind if I shower first?”
I shake my head no, still lost in my thoughts, and I hear Daniel tell him to go ahead.
We’re left alone and I feel Daniel’s thumb brushing my knee.
“Thank you for my presents.”
“You’re welcome— I’m glad you like them; they don’t beat your present for me though.”
He rolls his eyes and we sit for a moment, the framed hundred dollar bill still in my hands.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
I look at him and shake my head. “I don’t know. Just an odd reminder of how this started, and that it’s going to have to end soon, I guess.”
Daniel frowns. “We haven’t really gotten to talk about that. Why don’t we table that for later— we still have a nice day ahead of us. Those are problems for tomorrow.”
I nod and smile at him, and he pulls me in to kiss my temple, and I hear the click of an iPhone camera. I look up to see Auntie Kim in the doorway.
“Sorry, I just wanted to tell you that the coffee’s on. It was too cute not to capture.”
Daniel stands up, offering me his hand. “Make sure you send me a copy. I’ll have to add it to my collection.”
I chuckle as I stand. “Let me guess; the album is called ‘Cute and Shit.’”
He grins. “How’d you know?”
—-
Christmas flies by. It’s filled with good food, wine, and everyone I love. It’s hours after dinner, and Auntie Kim has already driven Aunt Judith home before going to bed herself.
Ryan, Katharine, Daniel, and I are all still seated around the dining room table playing some kind of team card game, and everyone’s faces are red from laughter and wine.
I can’t help but watch Daniel, who is in some kind of hilarious argument with Ryan over some card he pulled. His eyes shine from the light of the chandelier, and his smile is big and bright, taking over his whole face.
It hits me in this moment that I’ve surpassed unlabeled romantic feelings; I am truly in love with this man. The realization consumes me until Katharine knocks her shoulder into mine giggling.
“Can you believe we love these idiots?”
“Sometimes it’s a hard pill to swallow,” I tease, giggling, catching Daniel’s eye mid-argument. He winks at me and I feel my already red cheeks flush even deeper.
“You two are so cute,” Katharine continues, watching our interaction. She lowers her voice, whispering to me behind her wine glass. “I was kind of worried that when you got a boyfriend he wouldn’t mesh well with our dynamic, ya know? But it kind of feels like Daniel’s always been here.”
Her words vocalize the thoughts that have been ringing in my head all day. “I know what you mean.”
Katharine dramatically clears her throat. “Are you two done? Is it our turn yet?”
—-
We part ways from Ryan and Katharine in the hallway, giggling and shushing each other in the wee hours of the morning. I shut my door behind me and waggle my eyebrows at Daniel.
“Uh oh, there’s trouble,” he teases. “Planning to seduce me?”
I shrug exaggeratedly and he laughs before looking around. “Fuck, where are my sweatpants?”
I giggle. “They’re literally right behind you on the chair.”
“Oh, thanks.” He grabs them before looking at me. “Can I change in here tonight?”
I flush. “Yeah, sure.”
After sharing a room together all this time, this is the first time we’ve changed in front of each other and the thought makes my skin tingle. I make my way over to my dresser, pulling out my own sleep shorts and t-shirt. I wiggle out of my pants and pull on my shorts, glancing over my shoulder to see Daniel, shirtless, adjusting his sweatpants on his hips. My throat runs dry, and I turn around to pull my own shirt over my head, reaching behind me to unclip my bra once it’s on. I bundle my discarded clothes in my hand, walking over to toss them in the hamper. I turn around to find Daniel already looking at me. He’s still shirtless and my eyes drift to his defined chest. He looks down as if noticing for the first time.
“It’s really, uh, hot in here.” He speaks again. “Would it bother you if I slept shirtless?”
I shake my head, mentally screaming. “No, it is warm,” I agree, reaching up to put my hair in a bun on top of my head.
He watches me intently, and I laugh self consciously. “What?”
“Nothing. Just thinking about how this was the best Christmas I’ve had in a while.”
My face lights up. “Really?”
“Yeah.” I see his grin quirk up, and know something else is coming. “I’d say it was almost perfect.”
“Oh?” I question, finishing my bun. “Go on.”
“We fit in a lot of classic traditions today, but we missed one that I’m quite fond of.”
I look at him, trying to think of what it could be, as he takes a step closer to me.
“There wasn’t any mistletoe.”
I swallow. “There wasn’t.” I pause, my mind racing. Before I can fully think it through I find myself offering, “But we could pretend?”
“Hmm?” He murmurs, taking a step closer to me so he’s right in front of me now. I know he’s giving me a chance to take it back, or make a joke; I’m nervous, but I don’t want to take it back. I just really want to kiss him.
“I’d really like it if you had a perfect Christmas.”
“And you?” He questions softly. “What would make it a perfect Christmas for you?”
Instead of answering him, I reach up on my tiptoes to kiss him for a moment, pulling back to look him in the eyes. His eyes meet mine in some unspoken understanding, and then he’s dipping down to kiss me again.
He kisses me softly, delicately, like all the kisses at the wedding. He pulls back briefly to look at me, as if he still expects me to change my mind. I kiss him again, wanting there to be no doubt in his mind, and he kisses me back with purpose and passion, and I’m caught off guard by the weight of it. I gasp, and Daniel uses this opportunity to deepen the kiss, pulling me closer. It reminds me of our very first kiss back on his couch. My arms move around his neck, pulling our bodies flush together.
Daniel pulls away first, but barely, breathing hard, kissing down from my jaw to my neck.
This is definitely new territory for us.
I move my hands to his hair, and he groans at the feeling. I can’t help myself as I sigh breathlessly, a shiver running down my back. He grins against my neck, his teeth scraping at my skin and I moan softly.
“Wait,” I say breathlessly, a thought somehow flitting through my mind. “Earlier, didn’t you say there was something else I should know about my present?”
“I can tell you tomorrow,” he murmurs into my neck between kisses. “It’s time for bed.” He tugs me down onto the bed so I’m underneath him, resuming his kisses on my neck.
“This doesn't seem like going to sleep to me,” I tease.
“It is, shhhh, you’re dreaming.”
“That I’d believe,” I laugh, and Daniel smirks, moving so we're eye to eye again.
“Dream about me often?”
“Shhh.” I pull him closer, turning his words back on him. “You’re dreaming, go back to bed.”
“Happily,” he murmurs, kissing me again.
I bring my hands down to his bare shoulders, feeling his warm, toned skin against my fingertips. I gently drag my nails down his chest to his stomach, and I feel his muscles clench at my touch. I can’t help but smirk to myself as he pulls away to rest his forehead on my shoulder, letting out a shuddering breath. I bring my nails around his back, tracing up his taut muscles and across his shoulder blades.
I feel one of his hands come down, pushing my shirt up, his mouth pressing hot kisses to my abdomen. His nose takes over pushing my shirt up, exploring every new inch revealed with his mouth, his hand now running over my thigh, fingers squeezing occasionally, slowly climbing higher. As his hand reaches the bottom of my shorts, he lightly tugs at the fabric. He pauses, his blue eyes tentatively peering up at me.
“Can I…?” He looks nervous, like I’ll reject him. As if I have ever rejected him, or could ever manage to deny him. I’m not even entirely sure what he’s asking but I find myself nodding quickly. As he goes to tug my shorts down we hear a bang on the wall we share with Ryan followed by a crash, a “Shhhh” and a “Shit.”
We both startle and look over toward the wall, before looking back at each other and laughing softly.
“Ugh, I don’t want to know,” I say, shaking my head.
“You probably, definitely don’t.” He smiles at me before pulling his hand off my shorts, and my shirt back down, letting his fingers trace along the waistband of my shorts before he clears his throat. “We should, uh, get some sleep.”
I blink at the abrupt change in mood before nodding awkwardly. “Okay, sure.”
He rolls off of me, and I reach over to shut the lamp off. I’m hesitant to cuddle up to him, unsure if what just happened changed something between us, but I’m relieved when I feel his arm wrap around me the way it always does. Neither of us say anything, and I try not to think about the last few minutes, the firmness of his body behind mine, or the way my body’s buzzing— closing my eyes to try and get some rest.
—-
The next two days with my family go pretty much the same way as Christmas did. Daniel gets on swimmingly with everyone, and my heart aches every time I realize that once the holidays are over, our charade is going to come to an end—a permanent end— this time. I try to ignore that thought and enjoy my time, basking in the coupley moments in front of my family, and leaning into every touch we share.
I never get a chance to ask about my Christmas present; the time never feels right, and Daniel doesn’t bring it up either. Nothing happens between us like Christmas night; when bedtime rolls around we change in the bathroom and go straight to bed. We cuddle, but there’s no after-dark kisses or wandering hands. I wonder if Daniel feels as self-conscious about that night as I do; if he does, he doesn’t show it.
—-
We’re in my room packing to go back to LA in an effort to try to beat the inevitable New Year’s rush at the airport.
“I need to find something to wrap this in so it doesn’t break in my luggage,” I frown, holding up Daniel’s present. “It’s my new prized possession— nothing can happen to it.”
Daniel looks over and laughs. “Want me to wrap it in my sweatpants? That's what I did on the way here.”
“Okay, thank you.” I pad across the floor and pass him the frame, our fingers brushing in the process.
“Of course.” His lips quirk up as he carefully arranges the frame in his suitcase.
A moment passes, and I wonder if now is a good time to ask about my present .
“Hey, I’ve been wanting to ask—“
“Oh, I’ve been meaning to ask you—“
We both stop mid-sentence and Daniel laughs, “Sorry what were you saying?”
I shake my head, courage gone. “No— sorry, go ahead.”
He looks at me curiously but continues, “Henry texted me; he and Claire invited us to their New Year’s Eve party. They’re having it in LA this year.”
I quirk an eyebrow. “Us? They want me to go?”
He shrugs. “Yeah, Claire apparently requested your presence specifically.”
“Oh, that’s nice of her. I usually stay in for New Year’s.”
“It could be fun— if you aren’t sick of me yet,” Daniel teases.
“Ha!" I laugh, "If you aren’t sick of me yet, more like.” I shake my head. “And don’t mind sharing your friends with me.”
“They’re basically your friends now, too,” he argues.
“I’m not sure one wedding constitutes that, but I appreciate the sentiment.”
“You should come.”
I stop and look at him.
“I’ll call a car and pick you up on the way.”
When I hesitate, he softens his voice. “Please come.”
I swallow, “Okay.”
I’m not a big party person, but I also know I don’t have it in my heart to deny him, especially after everything he’s done for me.
He grins. “Really?”
I nod. “Yeah, I’ll go.”
“Cool, I’ll, uh, let them know we’re coming.”
I bite my lip to suppress my smile and start planning my outfit in my head.
—-
When we arrive at Claire and Henry’s house on New Year’s Eve, I try not to gawk at the size. It’s massive and sits high on one of the tallest hills in LA, away from the noise of the city.
The first person to spot us as we walk in is, unfortunately, Eleanor. I’d hoped she was in London, and away from us, but alas.
“Daniel!” she squeals, throwing her arms around him. “I was so hoping you’d be here.”
“Hi, El,” he placates her with a strained smile. “You remember Lauren?” He gestures back to me.
“Laura?” she asks, disinterested.
“Lauren,” I correct, forcing myself to smile. “Nice to see you again.”
“Eleanor,” Daniel intervenes. “Could you point us in the direction of Henry and Claire, perhaps?”
She frowns, but quickly covers it up. “They were in the kitchen last I checked— we have just got to catch up later.”
“We will!” He agrees graciously. “Let us get a drink, and I’m sure we'll have plenty of time to talk later.”
Daniel puts a hand on my back, guiding me forward and into another room, which turns out to be the kitchen. He’s immediately drawn into a series of bro hugs and handshakes by Henry and some of his other friends.
“Lauren! I’m so glad you came!” I turn to find Claire by a table of beverages.
“Claire! So nice to see you, thank you for inviting me.”
“Thank you for coming,” she says, pulling me into a quick hug. “I told Daniel he just had to bring you.”
I laugh. “He told me you were quite persistent— I usually have a low key New Year’s at home, but this is a fun change of pace.”
“Can I get you a drink?” She asks, already reaching for a bottle of champagne.
“Sure, thank you.” I catch Daniel’s eye across the room; he’s being clapped on the back and led out of the kitchen. I smile reassuringly, hoping to communicate that I’m fine here. He seems to understand, as he smiles back and nods before turning back to his friends.
Claire giggles, bringing my attention back to her.
“You look at him with such heart eyes, it’s cute.”
I try to keep my face from panicking. “Sorry?” She laughs like my reaction is the funniest thing in the world. “Oh don’t worry, he looks at you just the same, so you’re fine.”
I chuckle nervously. “I think maybe you’ve got the wrong impression—”
She shrugs like we’re talking about something commonplace, like the weather.
“Maybe, it’s possible... but I don’t think so. Now come! There’s some other girls I’d love for you to meet.”
—-
I spend a good portion of the night talking with Claire and her friends. They’re all very kind to me, but eventually I excuse myself to get some air out on the balcony.
I’m looking up at the sky — it’s dark, dotted with faint stars and a distant passing plane — when I hear somebody come out and join me. As they settle next to me against the railing I immediately know who it is just by how comfortable I feel.
“Whatcha doin out here, LaurLaur? The New Year’s only a few minutes away.”
I grin at him. “Just getting some air and admiring the stars. From up here you can actually see them.”
He hums, looking up with me.
“It reminds me of a certain piece of art a certain someone got me for Christmas.”
He chuckles. “I’m glad you like it so much.”
“It was very thoughtful…. I wonder if any of the stars are in the same places as they were that night.”
“Which night?”
“The night everything changed. Your birthday.”
Daniel leans against the railing facing me, and looks like he’s about to say something before he changes his mind.
Eventually he speaks again. “Things are going to change again soon, right? You said you’re sure about the break up?”
I swallow, scoffing my shoe against the balcony floor.
“I mean, we still need to figure it out, but you can’t keep fake dating me forever. That isn’t fair to you.”
He smiles wistfully. “It’s not like there was anyone else I was trying to date.”
“I’m a lucky girl,” I lament, and Daniel blushes and shakes his head. “It’s a real shame we’re over, though," I jest, trying to lighten the mood. "I’ve never gotten to kiss anyone at midnight.”
His eyebrows raise in surprise. “Never?”
“Nope,” I pop the p and look down at my feet.
“Well.” He clears his throat conspiratorially. “We can agree not to bring our fake relationship into the New Year if you want, but if the kiss starts before midnight, I think we’d get by on a technicality...”
I laugh. “You really want Eleanor to hate me, don’t you?”
He grins cheekily and shakes his head. “Nah, I think I saw her latched onto some other poor bugger inside. We’re in the clear.”
I roll my eyes, looking back up at the sky. I feel his finger trace my arm, gently using my elbow to turn my attention back towards him.
His voice is softer now, “It’s up to you, but there’s no one else I’d rather kiss at midnight.”
I look into his eyes and realize he’s being sincere. My heart’s beating out of my chest. Yes, I want to kiss him, but I want it to mean something. I keep giving in because I know one day this is all going to go away, and I’ll be left with just my memories and heartache.
He must see some hesitance in my eyes, because he’s taking a step back.
“If you don’t want to, it’s fine. Really.” He shoves his hands in his pockets. “Not trying to pressure you into doing something you don’t want to do.”
I shake my head. “It’s not that I don’t want to, I just…” I trail off, looking over the balcony, trying to swallow my feelings, which have manifested as anxious tears in my eyes. I feel a tear escape, and I hastily reach up to wipe it away.
“Hey,” Daniel says gently. “I didn’t mean to upset you.”
“You didn’t.” I let out a watery laugh. “Sorry, I don’t know why I’m…”
I feel his steady stare, and I come to terms with the fact that I’ve really gotten myself into a mess that I can’t just smooth over. I’m going to have to tell him.
I take a minute to compose myself, and Daniel stays quiet giving me time to put my words together as I look anywhere but at him.
“I do want to kiss you, D,” I start slowly, trying to keep my voice steady, “but I can’t if it’s just another part of our fake relationship.”
He tugs me closer by hand, gently, so I have no choice but to look at him. I swallow the lump in my throat. “I… know this wasn’t supposed to be real. But it has been, for me.”
He shakes his head and squeezes my hand. “So then stop trying to break up with me.”
I blink at him, and he continues.
“The night everything changed— your star map— I wasn’t referencing the story we told your family about my birthday.” Daniel looks at me long and hard like I’m missing something totally obvious. “It’s actually the stars from a night a month or so later.”
A month or two— Oh. OH.
“The night Ryan FaceTimed me?” I whisper, afraid to be wrong.
He takes my other hand in his, lacing our fingers together. “Listen— Fuck. I’m in love with you, Lauren.” He looks at me so intensely and my head is spinning. “I love you, and I’m in love with you.”
“What?” I ask dumbly.
He licks his lips. “A wise woman once said to me, you don’t confess to ‘kind of like someone’ when you’ve already been friends as long as we have.”
I stare at him for a second, my cheeks burning. “Well your friend sounds pretty smart.” I swallow. “Because I love you, too.”
He laughs, relief flooding his features. He pulls me to his chest, crushing me and squeezing the air out of my lungs. Eventually he pulls back, hands cupping my face.
He grins and shakes his head. “She is smart, so, so smart, but I don’t want to be her friend anymore.”
“What do you mean?” My brows furrow in confusion, worried that somehow I’ve misread this whole interaction, my relief quickly being replaced by panic.
“Well.” He steps forward, keeping our faces incredibly close. “I’m hoping she agrees to be my very real girlfriend— that is, if she doesn’t break up with me first.”
I hear everyone inside start the countdown to midnight. I’m still looking into Daniel’s eyes in disbelief, my hands clinging to the front of his shirt.
When the countdown hits one, I’ve finally found the words I want to say.
“Happy New Year, boyfriend.”
He’s grinning as he kisses me, and I am too. It’s not our most elegant kiss, a mess of teeth and giggles, and whispered “I love you”s. We never stray too far from each other’s lips, kissing again and again like we can’t get enough— and maybe we can’t.
Eventually, we calm down a bit, and when we kiss this time it’s all-consuming, sucking the air out of my lungs. It feels like my love is fizzling to the top of my skin, and I feel it. ‘It’ being every indescribable emotion in our kisses this past year, but this time I know what it is: true, unadulterated, uninhibited love. I am in love with my best friend, who is now my boyfriend, and I don’t care who knows it— as long as he does.
His fingers press bruisingly into my hips before he pulls back just enough to look at me.
“Can we go home?” He whispers sheepishly, brushing some hair out of my face tenderly. “I’m kind of tired of sharing you with the public.”
I huff a laugh. “I know exactly what you mean.” I lean forward to kiss him one last time before pulling back to lace our fingers together, squeezing tightly. “Please— take me home, D.”
I don’t have to tell him twice.

Will they come towards you/make a move? ~ Pick-a-Card Reading
Hi loves!
Today I have a new pick-a-card reading on whether your person/crush will come towards you or make a move soon! Remember that this is just the current energy and is not definite. Hope this helps or is entertaining to read!
I've also added the two songs that were playing while I did the reading, and the messages seem to match well with the readings. So I've put the links in case you want to listen to them while you read!
If you're new, make sure to follow me and if you are interested in a personal reading you can find my form here. I've prepared 3 piles for today's reading with crystals (I know that they look very similar, but chose the pile you resonate with.) Then scroll down to your pile 1, 2, or 3 and enjoy your reading!
Pile 1 - Get Grounded
Songs: Alive - Krewella, I Like Me Better - Lauv
Thoughts: unknown love, feeling stuck or confusion, fear
~
You may have reached a stalemate. It seems you both like each other; you enjoy each other's company and want to spend more time together. But neither of you are really feeling brave enough to share your feelings. Possibly this person likes you but hasn't realized or fully accepted it. They might be so caught up in whatever they're working on; they seem to be a really hard worker, that they don't notice any of the hints you through in their direction. If you want to be with this person, it may be best for you to go towards them. Don't be afraid to show your true feelings. Your wishes are coming true, and there is a shift from insecurity to security. You're finding new inspiration, a new connection with your spiritual side or your deepest self, and you're achieving a lot. You have a romance lined up for you that is all that you've been hoping for. This person will make you a better version of yourself, you'll like yourself better when you're with them and they'll make you feel alive. They feel the same. But they're healing trauma and dealing with insecurities, and they're blinded from seeing the bigger picture. It won't come easy, but it might be best for you to be upfront with your feelings to help bring them out of this state a little. Work through your fears and believe that it can happen.
Pile 2 - Lemuria
Songs: Superman - Rachel Platten, All Of Me - John Legend
Thoughts: More mature love, potentially already together, lots of earthy energy
~
First, I just love these colors together! You've been through this before, potentially even with this same person. For some of you, you may have separated, but are deciding to forgive each other and give it another try. You are ready to settle down and possibly get engaged/married! You've been waiting, and maybe it hasn't gone how you've wanted to yet, but let go of control, it is still coming to you. This person will come towards you when you release your fears and anxiety, and you'll really be able to dive into the relationship. This will be a strong, giving, and loving relationship, and there is little reason to worry. You both feel comfortable around each other, and there's a really deep connection here. You may have met or connected over similar religious/spiritual beliefs, and the Lemuria card represents heaven existing on Earth. What you see in the spiritual world, is portraying itself in front of you, in the most beautiful way. With a lot of Earth energy, one or both of you may have a lot of Earth in your charts, or simply be more grounded, down-to-earth people. You don't sweat the small things, and take a practical approach towards life. Similar to Pile 1, you may need to be the one to make the first move. Be bold, don't hold back. It's happening.
Pile 3 - Mirror
Songs: I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing - Aerosmith, Love On Top - Beyonce
Thoughts: new love, flame, trigger, priorities, comfort, strong emotions!
~
This is someone who triggers or mirrors you a lot, potentially a twin flame. You may see a lot of synchronicity between the two of you, or a lot of unexpected coincidences that may cause you to start thinking differently about your connection. Pay attention to these signs. This person is coming towards you; you radiate beauty inside and out, and there's a lot of attraction here. You will likely be entering into a beautiful partnership with a lot of love! It feels youthful and safe, but you can see yourself being with this person for a long time. Luck is on your side, and you can have this. But there are some fears or nerves that are holding one or both of you back from making a move. Your relationship currently resides in fantasy or imagination but hasn't come to fruition yet. Yet. There are certainly some fears or insecurities going on here, and since you mirror each other there may be certain aspects brought up that you feel uncomfortable addressing. Things that you might've pushed down are shooting up all over the place, and it's getting hard to avoid your feelings. Along with that, you're too attracted to each other to let this die out without going anywhere; there's a strong flame that needs to grow. You will move towards each other naturally.
Thank you!
I hope that you enjoyed today's reading, and remember to like and follow for future readings! Have an amazing day!

Cold
Pairings: (Embry Call x Reader)
Word Count: 1.3K
Warning(s): N/A
Summary: An Embry Call imagine where antics by Paul mixed with a cold day at the beach causes you to fall ill and the only thing that can make you feel better is the warmth of your boyfriend.
----------
"So you guys don't think I can take on Jacob and Seth at the same time?" Embry questioned, almost baffled from his seat between your legs. You were sat on a long-forgotten tree log next to your friend Jared with his girlfriend sat comfortably in his lap.
"No!" shouted the majority of the group, causing those who didn't comment on the matter to laugh, including yourself.
You and your group of friends, the wolf pack, often found yourselves on the cold shores of La Push. It was a quiet place for all of you to hang out, especially during the winter months, because no one in their right minds would visit the beach during this time of year.
You all found it nice that you could come here to relax and act their age in the shifters' case, for they were all pretty young —no need to worry about patrolling or anything of the like, just fun, friends, and waves.
"I think you could do it, Em," You objected, pushing your fingers through his short hair. Though you weren't sure if he actually could, you tried your best to be supportive, even if that meant a few white lies.
"Thanks, babe," smiled Embry, craning his head up to give you a quick peck on the lips.
"Get a room, you lovebirds," Paul complained from his spot across from you and Embry after the display of affection. Rachel shook her head, knowing just how hypocritical her boyfriend was being. He was quick to kiss her just like Embry had done to you.
"What does that make you and Rachel roommates?" You jokingly questioned, looking between your friend and his girlfriend, who you also considered a friend.
"If you want to call it that sure," Paul shrugged before chucking a small seashell in your direction, ensuring not to hit you, though.
"You're not funny," You huffed, picking up a seashell as well and throwing it. Unfortunately, your aim wasn't as precise as Paul's, for the small shell hit his bicep before falling to the sand below.
He looked down at his arm. Of course, it didn't hurt, but Paul being Paul, wasn't going to let the accident slide.
"Oh yeah?"
"Knock it off, you two," commented Sam, conscious of how childish you two get around one another, for it was the nature of your long-term friendship. Unfortunately, his request fell onto stubborn ears, for you responded without a care in the world.
"Yeah."
"I'll show you funny. Come here!" Paul shouted, quickly removing himself from his place in the sand against another rotting log.
Not having much time to respond, you jump up as well, having no regard for the safety of Embry's head that was previously supported by you.
You tried to keep your distance from the idiot, but that quickly failed, for he had several not so human advantages over you. Even if he wasn't a shifter, you were sure it wouldn't have taken him long to reach you.
Once Paul reached you, he grabbed you, placing you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
You couldn't quite see where he was taking you, but you had a sneaking suspicion once the sand went from a light gray to a darker shade from the water that previously hit it.
Slight panic began to arise within you, and you began to smack at Paul's lower back and butt. "Paul put me down. I mean it!"
"Whatever you say," Paul said sweetly, not hesitating to drop you in the water below. You now wished you had chosen better words for your requested release. Though you were sure, it would've ended in a similar if not the same result.
You emerged from the waves, already feeling the chilling air against your face and body despite the layers of clothing that formerly warmed you.
Once to your feet, you made your way to Paul. Not skipping a beat, you pushed him into the water, soaking his previously semi-dry clothing.
"Aw, come on (Y/N)," Paul said playfully once he resurfaced. You could hear the smile on his face.
"Again, you're not funny," You remarked, leaving your friend in the frosty sea as you made your way back to shore.
Once there, Embry caught your eyes. He jogged up to you with a bright smile on his face. "Aw, baby," He said, grabbing your arm to bring you in for a hug in an attempt to warm you.
"Don't baby me. You didn't help," You said, removing your arm from Embry's grasp. "I'm going to change," You huffed, trudging past your boyfriend and to your car where you thankfully had towels and spare clothing. You weren't truly upset. Just a bit annoyed that you now had to change and, of course, you were now cold.
"Need some help?" Embry offered with a cheeky smirk on his face.
You were sleeping comfortably, at least as comfortable as one could with a stuffy nose and frequent coughing fits. In short, you were under the weather. No surprise there, considering you were thrown into the ocean in the dead of winter a day ago.
"No!"
----------
In your half-unconscious state, you heard loud shuffling outside. You ignored it at first, presuming it was some form of animal minding their own business. But that thought became increasingly slim as the noise got closer to your window. Even more so when your window began to slide open from the force of human hands.
Though you were a bit out of it, your fight or flight kicked in. You quickly got out of bed and grabbed for a baseball bat you had in your room for these very situations.
"Who's there? I have a bat and a boyfriend who will beat your ass!" You tried to threaten despite the raspiness in your voice. As you did so, you angled the bat high, ready to swing if need be.
"You think I can take him?"
"Em? What are you doing here?" You questioned, distinguishing the voice as your boyfriend's. You lowered your bat, realizing you were no longer in danger.
"You weren't answering my text," He replied plainly, flopping onto your mess of a bed.
"So you climb through my window?" You wondered, returning the bat to its rightful place in the process.
"Uh yeah." He again replied simply. "Why weren't you answering?" Embry probed after taking your phone in his hands and noticing it was fully charged with his abundance of messages on full display.
"If you can't tell, I'm sick," You responded, outstretching your arms to showcase your disheveled appearance. "I can barely keep my eyes open."
Embry reached out to take your hands, bringing you closer to his body and, therefore, its natural heat. "You're freezing!"
"Yeah, thanks to your friend," You said, obviously referring to Paul and his yesterday antics at the beach.
"My friend? The last time I checked, you've known him longer," Embry countered, rubbing his thumbs over the back of your cold hands.
"Well, I don't claim him when he annoys me," You replied but honestly, if that were the case, you would never truly claim Paul, for he was continually annoying you. That's how you two showed your love for each other.
"Come here," Embry chuckled, bringing you down in a full embrace.
You struggled against his hold briefly, "No, I don't want you to get sick."
Embry stopped, looking at you as if you had said the dumbest thing in the world. "Seriously."
That word alone was enough convincing that you wouldn't get him sick. You knew he had heightened abilities, but you weren't sure if that translated to his immune system as well.
"Fine."
You two stayed huddled together for who knows how long. The increased yet steady beat of Embry's heart and the warmth that he naturally radiated lulled you in and out of sleep. Embry noticed every time you woke up, hearing the change in your heartbeat.
"Feeling any better?" Embry asked, noticing you had awoken briefly once again.
"Much," You answered."Tell Paul he owes me soup," You added lowly, snuggling deeper into Embry's chest.
"Will do, baby."

i finally watched the first three episodes of the new season of titans and ooooooh boy do i have some thoughts! spoilers abound for those who haven't seen the episodes yet, though the major ones i think are pretty much common knowledge at this point.
i got so much joy out of watching the opening fight scene in the first episode. they are truly a well-oiled machine at this point and it's great to see them so confident in their abilities. dick made me the happiest though, because it was so clear how much he was enjoying himself, and i don't think we've seen much, if any, scenes of dick being truly at peace in the series thus far. also, i truly delighted in his somewhat unnecessary gymnastics during the fighting-- it reminds me of teen wolf and that makes me happy, lol.
i knew from the second episode that hank was gonna bite it because he, too, seemed so content, even in spite of the breakup angst with dawn. he's sober (ish? he was seen reaching for a beer but otherwise he seems good), working his police job, and seemed to be in a good place mentally and physically, so of course he had to die at the height of his contentment, especially once he and dawn had kind of reconciled there before she set off to do the heist for the gold bars (which, in a slight topic change, was either super badass on her part or the bank needs better security, because managing to get all those gold bars on her own with no backup is quite the feat!)
kory looks SO GOOD this season. that's all, really-- superficial, I know, but it's true. i noticed that anna's been wearing green contacts when her eyes aren't glowy-- is that new? if so, i did catch scenes in the second ep where she wasn't wearing them, i don't know if that was a goof or intentional, but it's something i picked up on. yet another thing that reminds me of teen wolf, because they had that problem in their third season, too.
even if i didn't know that jason was the red hood, his dialogue would have absolutely tipped me off anyway. when he was like, "come on, man! you know the quote!" i immediately pictured him in my mind. i'm interested to learn more about his motives-- i watched batman: under the red hood last night after i finished the episodes, and while this season seems to be following that storyline pretty closely, whereas that jason was working out of anger that bruce never killed the joker, this version of jason is clearly different, both because bruce already killed joker, but also because he's going after his allies/friends (i.e. hank) just as much as his established foes, which makes me think that dick's mention of the titans not having the patience to help him is right on the money. i'm also intrigued by the drug he made-- it's clearly some sort of opposite of the scarecrow's fear toxin that instead takes away all fear, and i wonder how it's affecting him.
i neeeeeeeed to know how jason was resurrected. are they gonna bring in r'as al ghul and the lazarus pit or are they going another direction?
bruce shaking when he came in and the tone of his voice when he asked dick if he wanted to be robin again KILLED ME DEAD, and then again when he came into dick's room after he killed joker. ian glen nailed that performance, i felt all the guilt and grief and fear in his voice and body language.
vincent kartheiser is a great scarecrow (his payment of good weed in exchange for his assistance is hilarious to me) but the knowledge of his behind the scenes/on set antics keeps me from fully enjoying his performance. i wonder that the context of his disciplinary actions entailed. is he another jared leto wannabe trying to be method while playing a psychopath?
i miss rachel so, so, so much and i am intrigued where her attempts to resurrect donna will go and how much she's grown and improved as a person and a warrior since she's been trained on themyscira. i hope she's learned more about her powers and how she can apply them to her work as a titan.m
i like the actress playing barbara gordon but i'm just not feeling much, if any, chemistry between her and brenton, tbh. though, that may be more my shameless need for some good dickkory interactions, though.
poor gar needs some love! i hate how little attention he's given, in the show and in-show by the other characters. i do love his friendship with conner/superboy and how much the latter has grown and evolved in the time between seasons 2 and 3.
i think that's all for now, but i would love to hear what y'all think about the season so far-- i don't know anyone who watches titans irl so i would love someone i could talk to about it!

The answer to why uht bullied Rachel is painfully obvious. She's the main character, our underdog, they're the high school mean girls. It's just the way high school teen shows and movies are wrriten every time. If Tina were the main character they would've been bullying Tina instead. A lot of the time with glee there is no logical explanation or reasoning, things only happen the way they do because that's what they writers wanted.
Besides, Rachel is not a good enough dancer to be a cheerleader. Santana wasn't either a lot of the time but she was there to be the stereotypical hot mean cheerleader. If you look close Naya is missing from a lot of the more demanding cheerios numbers, we could try to find in universe explanation for that but there is none. You just can't look for logic where there's none jajaja I love glee but it does not do things because they make sense
Well, yes Nonnie, technically true that literally everything in Glee happened because it was written that way and hopefully served a narrative purpose. That is what fiction is. But I hope I've been conveying on this blog for about a year now that there's the out-of-universe reasoning for everything, i.e. it was written that way but that doesn't mean we can't think in-universe and apply some literary analysis to... Glee, of all things. Because it's fun. I'm sure previous Anon understood everything you're saying here but I'm sensing a bit of a galaxy-brained revelation coming from your side when, like, yeah. We know. I'd hazard to assume that no one who engages with me in these conversations about character motivations and analysis denies that, ultimately, everything in Glee just had to happen the way it did because that was the story they wanted to tell.
Glee is especially interesting to try and find a Watsonian explanation for because it's so damn inconsistent and it's a straight-up struggle to try and make sense of things. It's a struggle I enjoy, frankly, because putting more thought into these characters than the writers ever did and connecting the dots with other people is fun. Since Rachel and the UHT aren't real people, sure, the bullying happened because it had to happen that way. And I'm not saying there's never a point where someone sends me an ask and I just have to draw the conclusion that "it was written that way" because no in-universe explanation makes sense. But surely that's not usually the response people expect from me lol. So with all due respect to you, this take seems dismissive? I'm just really not sure what we gain from stating the obvious. And it's not even so much about logic as it is about story and fleshing out these characters because we like them.
I don't have much to reflect on the second part because I already said in my OG post that I don't consider Rachel to be, even in-universe suspension of disbelief-wise, to be a strong dancer. But just two words on Santana, she is actually there for a ton of Cheerios numbers early on, as that's part of what she was hired for, but when she isn't later on like in season 3 it does have an easy in-universe explanation. For example, neither Quinn nor Santana are in Bust Your Windows but that takes place in Mercedes' head so doesn't need logic anyway. As for season 3, Santana watches performances by Sue's side as a co-captain looking for things to improve on. See? It's really not a lot of work to explain that particular thing away. There aren't "a lot" more examples of Brittany being in a Cheerios number but not Santana. But I have the exact stats on that in case anyone wants to fact-check me. Obviously, sometimes she and Quinn don't do the parts Brittany and the other Cheerios do, but I think performances are inherently a lot or in the suspension of disbelief zone than actual story beats like Rachel's bullying are. Magic of the stage, if you will. I don't care to know how the Glee Club constantly gets the Cheerios to do their background dancing but I do care to explore major aspects of characters' lives.
#idk anon this isn't meant to be harsh at all but it sounds like don't think people already know what you're saying#and care to analyse these stories anyway#sure i could dismiss glee's writing entirely but then... what's my blog for lol#anon#i appreciate the jajaja tho some hispanic rep right there#glee asks#glee's writing issues
