I am hyped for Dragonage: The Veilguard, so i decided to draw my "cannon" inquisitor that im planning to take into the next game, Saaretik Adaar (im really hoping for some long curly hairstyles next time lol)

What are the Dragon Age heroes stance on magic and mages?

My Aeducan Warden: Though I was fortunate enough to be born into a powerful family, many in Orzammar were not. The lowest of our society were the Casteless, those who had disgraced themselves in some way and been cast out of their clan and caste, as well as their descendants.

It never seemed fair or right to me that someone’s place in life should be determined by something so out of their control as the parent they were born to, and I feel the same way about the mages. No one should live their life a prisoner just because of something they were born with.

My Hawke: I’ve seen the very worst of what magic can do in the wrong hands. I’ve seen blood mages, driven mad by power, commit horrific acts that don’t bear description. But I’ve also seen that, more often than not, many who resorted to such practices were driven to it by desperation, wanting nothing more to be free from the Circle, and the ever watching eyes of the Templars.

Maybe if we had all been a bit more sympathetic to the plight of the mages, the civil war could have been avoided.

My Adaar Inquisitor: I chose to stand with the mages in the mage Templar war for one simple reason: I believe that all people have the right to live their life the way they see fit, so long as they don’t want harm others. Yes, magic is dangerous and mages will always carry a risk of demonic possession, but the possibility of someone being dangerous is not reason enough to lock them up against their will. If it was, then should we not all be in cells?

Yes, it is vital that mages receive proper education on their powers and on how to resist demonic corruption, but if this war has proved anything, it’s that locking them away was not the answer.
