makes me insane btw that solas had the orlesians announce him as the inquisitor's 'elven serving man' at halamshiral. like yeah i understand the sociopolitical reasoning of it in that environment and i understand that it's part of his whole Humble Apostate™ disguise but have we considered that it's also very hot through a romance lens? he's content to be seen and known as lavellan's- not the inquisition's, just one (1) specific person's- subordinate? lavellan's serving man? get out of here

We all know the dancing scene at the Winter palace, don't we? BUT, did you know there is an even better option to choose from (despite the clipping, yeah, I know this shit's unfortunate)?

So this time I played her "more realistic" and after a long day at Halamshiral, walking through this massive place, snooping around and talking to people while playing their game (by insulting them discreetly ... or not, ahem), you're worn out (you can't convince me otherwise). And instead of dancing, she just wished for his company - and this decision pays off IMMEDIATELY. HE EVEN KISSES HER AT THE VERY END OF THE SCENE, almost not recognisable because the scene fades out, BUT IT IS THERE. Even if it's just a small smooch.

I have been quite bad about my tidbits over here. So I'm gonna try to do better. For today, since I didn't have a lot of time to write these last two days, I'd like to share a piece from far in the future of "The Destiny We Choose." I don't generally write romance, not because I can't, but because I personally feel it's overrepresented in our media and it can distract from other sources of tension and plot development*. So, I work very hard to keep romance a secondary plot point in my stories. (Likely to the detriment of my story's success). That being said, because I write it so rarely, it is always, and without fail, and unexpected delight. Which, incidentally, is the theme of these short paragraphs.

This 6500 word chapter more or less guarantees I will keep writing this fic because I wish so badly to share the whole thing with you. It's a beautiful, soft piece start to finish.

*I do not dislike romance as a genre and if you enjoy it, I don't judge you at all. We all are free to read, enjoy, and write what we please. This is art. This is my personal choice and challenge.
