Being the only woman in a crew full of men, Ikkaku had rarely had the chance to properly indulge in girl talk. Sure, Law knew her sexual history in some detail, but that was mostly because he was her doctor. It certainly wasn’t because he wanted to know who his engineer banged and how. And he most certainly had no interest in talking about feelings.

Which was unfortunately his downfall with a certain navigator. One Ikkaku felt she needed to intervene with. And hey, if she finally got to talk to someone about the stuff she’d been keeping inside, both regarding her messy relationship with Hawkins and the budding one with a certain swordsman, well, all the better. Because fuck, she knew that her boys wouldn’t understand, and she and Nami had grown closer, so hopefully she wouldn’t mind a little soul-bearing if it also came with a heaping helping of “I’m sorry my captain is an emotionally constipated jerk. Here’s some advice on how to navigate that storm.”

Bringing over a pitcher of fresh-mixed screwdriver as orange as Nami’s hair and two cocktail glasses, Ikkaku set them down on the table before the navigator. “Figured this was a conversation that would need booze,” she explained, sitting in the chair across from her. “If for no other reason than to use tipsiness as an excuse in case we say something we regret. Or that’ll get me in trouble for insubordination.” Because Law would absolutely be pissed to find out that his surrogate little sister was playing couples’ counselor behind his back.

Well, too bad for him. It was for his own good. Just because he didn’t believe he deserved to be happy didn’t mean Ikkaku didn’t.

Pouring herself what would likely be the first of many drinks, Ikkaku met Nami’s eyes. “Law likes you way more than he lets on. He just sucks at showing it. And yeah, he’s not exactly a good man, but trust me, when it comes to the men of the Worst Generation, you could do way, way worse. I can speak from personal experience there.”

staff week at camp has been so lovely! butterflies and ladybugs and old friends and new friends... looking for four-leaf clovers in the grass... helping serve lunches and getting a chocolate bar for a special job well done... old memories held dear and new ones being welcomed in with open arms... oh golly, it's just splendid!! happy day!!! :D

Really loving this year's summer event in FGO. Was not expecting to like it so much based on previews since there were a handful of servants involved whose plotlines I usually don't like, but even they're being utilized well here. And like... I can never get enough Mandricardo.

I have been wearing doc martens almost exclusively since i was 12 (im 22), with the exception being that I recently got a pair of Solovairs, which are boots that are made in old doc marten factories and are essentially better quality docs. So I can say with authority that they become SO goddamn comfortable with time. Usually when I'm breaking in new ones I make sure to wear socks that always cover my ankles so the unsoft leather doesn't rub against my skin. I put bandaid on the back of my ankles to prevent blisters--do not wait until the blister is forming to bandaid it! And I flex/point my feet as well as standing on my tiptoes which helps both the ankle and toe crease.

My ankles roll inwards so my knees touch, so the structure of boots is really good for me, but i have been known to wear boots until they are essentially structureless. Please don't give up on docs just because they take time, they are so fun and worth it.

These rn are total comfort, I've been wearing them for about 18 months, but they were comfy starting about 17 months ago. I don't usually go on long walks bc disabled but I wear these all day when I'm out of the house with no problem. Pls note the crease at the back of the ankle and the bending around the toe. The leather is soft but still stands up on its own.

These were my boots in 2016, I wore them for most of middle school and retired them about a year after this pic (both bc they were dying and bc I outgrew them). If you are not like me and don't wear them every single day with little maitenance, they will last much longer than the 4ish years I tend to get. Pls note the much more obvious creases and how they tend to stand up a bit less straight. It should be said that the two boots shown have slightly different leather types, which definitely impacts stuff, but not massively in terms of comfort.
