You know, the gentleman who filmed me yesterday did such a good job that I figured this would be a good opportunity for me to give a brief lesson on #squatdepth. See where so am here? My hips are lower than my knees, which is often referred to as breaking parallel. This counts for one full rep. Never ever do half reps. This full squat I'm hitting works not just the #quads but the legs as a whole, #hamstrings, #calves and even #glutes. Half reps can lead to possible knee injuries and muscle imbalances. Also understand that while I'm breaking parallel I never go #asstograss. 4 weeks out and FUCK yo, this is the weak shit I be talkin' about! The old me would've been happy with this, thinking that it's ok that I at least didn't drop the weight. So after dong explosive box squats for the past 2-3 weeks, trying to Low Bar Squat today was a big challenge. Didn’t go for very many reps, I just wanted to get some weight on my back and take it beyond the box squats. It all felt heavy today but it’s all good, I got up and got that work in today. I still love and enjoy doing Low Bar, but when you haven’t done it in weeks, it becomes foreign.
