Elmwire Forest + The Copycat (Land of Fable Landmarks/Creatures #01)
Elmwire Forest is a Forest coveted in dark roots that seem to pulsate like bl00d... No one knows the origins of the place nor who created it (As Mina strictly stated that she NEVER made the place before nor has been there ever). It's known for being located in the bottom of the Earth Quad & there are warning signs to never go there's lest you wanna see the consequences of what you've done
Its a very dangerous place only the most known & fearless individuals can go to explore, so often the military based metros/trains (usually seen in รruss'a) go there with the strongest & highest ranked soldiers to deal with whatever is in there. But somehow these soldiers... unfortunately don't make it out alive... But there has been a instance where a soldier did go out alive. She was a Nil/Apnoaw hybrid who somehow was spared but everyone else in her squad wasn't, now facing major ptsd from her OWN FRIENDS, who she thought of like family, die right in front of her!
One of the dangerous creatures (& also what was the reason for the soldiers not coming back alive other than that one single mynk) was a certain entity just referred to as "Mirrored Flesh" or "The Copycat". This entity is entirely made of black roots that are made of the same material of the trees with extremely sharp teeth & a very creepy smile. However this entity doesn't seem to target Nils, as for some reason it sees them as their own but will attack ANYONE who isn't a Nil (this includes mortals).
Now the reason why this creature us called "The Copycat" is bcs it's known to mimic other beings & individuals + CAN EVEN MIMIC THEIR VOICES but the only imperfection of theirs is that.... it's that thing's mouth & eyes... While the creature IS POWERFUL it isn't immortal since it does have 3 hearts & when the remaining soldier who found this creature shot it out of self defense, she shot it's heart which remains 2 hearts. It's like a vampire you can't truly kill unless you target it's heart.
The being also has a major need to infect others with this strange disease called "Elmwire disease" or "Shadowroots Syndrome" which is a dangerous disease which can kill the person if not treated instantly. When it bites you, not only it's taking your DNA to copy your appearance BUT ALSO infecting you!
Its said in some fables, "The Copycat" used to be a normal Nil who then unexpectedly mutated (which Nils should do, if they mutate it's causes them major pain thus having them to be "neutralized"... (aka a mercy kill)) which explains why it only spares Nils & no one else. But that doesn't explain the whole "pulsating black roots" part of the creature.
The Forest itself does have other creatures like a few crabs, slugs, & weird flying bug bats which are often found on the surface of the forest. The forest is a huge (but not huge huge, just bigger than your average city. Basically as big as a mega city) & dark, so you must ALWAYS bring a light weither it be a lantern or a torch.
& even though it's a part of the Earth Quad, no Eldahk Mynk really want to be near it as some stories say that they can hear the dying screams & terror of what seems to be mortals in the forest... As if the creature found them and took them there for their... next meal...
Yeh that's it for my ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING lore about wtf I have been thinking of for these past secs. I hope you enjoyed reading this, but if not... I'm very sorry for your mental health.

Ivy League in League with Hamas
I hope Columbia students are as dedicated to their studies as they are to LARPing.ย I doubt it.ย They seem to not know much of anything.ย Portraying aggressive foes of Israel confirms such.ย Refusing to move from ground that was never theirs shows commitment to the cause.
College brats crave pretending theyโre something other than political science majors doomed to beg Joe Biden for debt evasion.ย A university that wanted to continue to pretend to be taken seriously would deny outdoor squatters the right to Sha Na Na presale access codes.
Instead, expect a flurry of senior theses based on how leaving plants unwatered in an Amsterdam Avenue apartment for three or four days allowed the non-Israel parts of the Middle East to finally prosper.ย This is the school where a showy phony lied about being raped so sheโd have an excuse to drag a mattress around campus as a regrettable standard of performance art, which makes todayโs showy truancy unsurprising.
Acting violent while pretending to not beย reflects a wholesale refusal to interact with reality.ย True cosplayers act just like their beloved terror cause.ย Man, they are focused on playing along.ย Their habit of harassing Jews shows solidarity.ย Claiming they were the victims all along is what the keffiyeh represents.
Tom Wolfeโs ghost has never been busier.ย Earthโs most entitled brats throwing a tantrum while camping on Manhattanโs Ivy League grounds to show fondness for an invading terror squad means heโs still releasing novels a page at a time as news reports.
A Peoplesโ Universityย doesnโt sound quite elite.ย Those seizing land are presumably honoring prominent Democratic activist Jim Jonesโs naming conventions without realizing it.ย Like every other contemptible notion that preening quad radicals believe, the inadvertent hilarity stems from their patent ignorance.ย While itโd be nice if they were informed, the rest of us can use the laughs.ย What are they supposed to do during college: learn?
The sort of students youโre glad you never drank with get to pretend theyโre doing something righteous with a lawn campout.ย Guilt over unbelievable privilege leads to fretting about the less fortunate.ย Enrolling in a moral vacuum prompts sympathy for terror instead of victims.
Columbia students think The Diary of Anne Frank has a happy ending.ย Confused reading list participants know what they wouldโve done during World War II, namely defend Normandy from invaders.ย The claim that 2020โs city torchers were the equivalent of Allied soldiers got sillier just when you thought that was impossible.
These advanced times sure are unenlightened, at least for those at the costliest and therefore best colleges.ย Society regresses without learning from primitive times.ย Letโs say thereโs precedent involving campus radicals defending terror movements.ย Collegiate nitwits once again romanticize ghastly assaults against decent people in respectable societies.ย A useful degree would feature learning how many of them are not.
Praising the terror side is how the smuggest brats from your high school class battle for the underprivileged.ย Hamas engages in rather intense bullying theyโd surely condemn if it involved misgendering.ย Total non-anti-Semites just happen to be ganging up on the one Jewish state.ย Tormenters get every last detail wrong, including which side features people who want to be left alone.
Students fume about a sliver of land that at its narrowest is smaller than the island upon which Columbia lies is long.ย Itโs not just the lack of real estate that makes Israel an underdog.
The one Middle East country that would tolerate idling undergraduate uselessness can afford to on account of that whole natural rights bit.ย Citizens could claim it was awful without consequence.ย Go ahead and hold a pride parade in Tel Aviv.ย Iโd envision a permit tie-up for anyone trying the same in Gaza. Rather confused observers add exercising the right to self-defense to their appalling list of reasons they loathe Jews.
Idle grifters with student IDs get to pretend theyโre standing up for a noble cause.ย The side against Israel is way less nicer, and underdevelopment must be the fault of oppression.ย That sort of logic is common amongst attendees at more prestigious schools.ย Ignoring what happened at the music festival to people about the same age helps maintain consistency.
The Morningside Heights campus of Hamas University is a popular study abroad program.ย But enrollees can only harvest so much knowledge.ย An internship would help.ย They can learn from their heroes.ย Columbia campers should transfer to Gaza colleges.ย Thereโs a hospital on every corner, which means there must be at least that many schools.ย You know itโs bad when the rest of 2024 New York City seems sane by comparison.
Class is boring.ย Learn about the real world out on the Columbia quadrangle.ย It sure is fun camping out while shrieking insults at civilization.ย Real-world experience is supposed to be schoolโs goal.ย Professional terrorists blaming success is the default Columbia student ideology in practice.ย Feeling insulated on campus leads to guilty role play.ย Flaunt uselessness in the name of awfulness.ย This is the best time to dine at Katzโs, as none of the uneducated students will be there.

Resident Evil Revised TV Series Idea.
The show should be told American Horror Story like meaning its gonna be anthology-ish based with stories bouncing back with returning characters.
Season 1โs cast is Jessica Henwick as Jill Valentine, Kellan Lutz or Sebastian Stan as Chris Redfield, Antony Starr as Albert Wesker, David Harbour as Barry Burton, Charlie Hunam as Richard Aiken, Jack Quad as Brad Vickers and Erin Moriarty as Rebecca Chambers.
Season 1 is an adaptation of RE1 taking creative liberties from the remake and original. The one difference is that Bradโs helicopter is hit by crows leading him to nearly crash and fly away, this results in a subplot of Brad returning to HQ and finds dirt on Irons before returning.
Season 2 has a different set of characters and a bigger budget with Hailee Steinfeld as Claire Redfield, Mason Dye as Leon S. Kennedy, Sadie Sink as Sherry Birkin, Elizabeth Olsen or Laurie Holden as Annette Birkin, Karen Fukuhara as Ada Wong, Temura Morrison as HUNK and Jason Issacs or Paul Bethany as William Birkin. Takes influence from the RE2 Remake.
Season 3 is an adaptation of RE3 Nemesis mixed with the remake. Jill is the same, Oscar Isaac plays Carlos Oliveira, Jonathan Adams as Tyrell Patrick, Tom Wlaschiha as Mikhail, and Michael Fassbender as Nicholai Zinoviev.
Season 4 adapts a story from the Umbrella Chronicles which is the fall of Umbrella and also Code Veronica Jamie Campbell as Alfred Ashford and Natalie Dormer as Alexia Ashford. Also Tye Simpkins as Steve Burnside.
Season 5 adapts the story of Leon and Krauser (John Cena or Frank Grillo) with Jenny Ortega as Manuela Hidalgo.
Season 6 is an adaptation of Resident Evil 4 with Mason Dye reprising his role as Leon and Cena or Grillo as Krauser alongside Fukuhara as Ada while newcomers Ashley Graham and Luis Sera are played by Natalia Dyer and Diego Luna with Javier Bardem as Saddler. A couple of unknowns for Mendez and Salazar.
Season 7 adapts Resident Evil Revelations with Jason Momoa as Parker Luciani, Kit Harrington as Raymond Vester and Alexandra Daddario as Jessica Sherawat.
Season 8 is an adaptation of RE5 but itโs more in line with the original draft albeit the mind controlled Jill part is there. Danai Guerera is Sheva Alomar, Daniel Kaluuya as Josh Stone, Jesse Plemons as Richardo Irving and Monica Belucci as Excella Gionne.
Season 9 adapts Resident Evil 6 with most of the cast returning and a better written Jake Muller played by Wyatt Russell and has been reimagined as a BSAA soldier instead of a mercenary who teams up with Sherry Birkin played by Billie Lourde with Liam Hemsworth playing Piers Nivans and Jill tagging along. Also Simmons is changed from instead of being a member of a secret society, he was just trying to cause global bio terror attacks to promote the his own agendas of a better secured world with Carla Radames being a rogue operative and an ally of Adaโs. Temura Morrison returns as HUNK and is Adaโs partner.
Season 10 is Resident Evil Revelations 2 with Emily VanCamp as Alex Wesker with Harbour reprising his role as Barry Burton, Millie Bobby Brown as Moira Burton, and an unknown actress for Natalia. Steinfeld returns as Claire too.
Season 11 adapted Resident Evil 7 fully with Joe Keery or Chris Hemsworth as Ethan Winters (to make the plot sound more sensical, Ethan is a private investigator and a former RPD cop), Emilia Clarke is Mia Winters, Michael Rooker is Jack Baker, Toni Colette as Marguerite Baker, Rooney Mara as Zoe Baker and Aaron Paul as Lucas Baker with Stan returning as Chris.
Season 12 is an RE8 adaptation with Cate Blanchett or Gwendolie Christie as Lady Dimitrescu (CGI), Eva Greene as Donna Beneviento, Nicholas Cage as Karl Heisenberg, Stellan Skarsgard as Salvatore Moreau, and Emily Blunt as Mother Miranda. Hound Wolf squad consists of Jill, Chris, Barry and Rebecca.

Rules: Google and post the meaning of your OCโs name (if you made their name up or they go by a nickname, post an explanation of how it came to you)! Bonus if you can find something for their last name too.
Paladin Henry Theseus Rex, aka "Big Daddy":
Henry: From the French name Henri, derived from the Old Frankish name Heimeric, which itself came from either the Common Germanic name Haimarฤซks ("home-ruler") or the Old High German Haginrich ("enclosure-ruler"); the latter eventually became the modern-day German name "Heinrich".
Henry remains a popular masculine name in English-speaking countries; most notably, eight kings of England have ruled under the first name Henry. Rex's parents most likely had Henry V, victor of the Battle of Agincourt, in mind when they named their son - although Henry VII, the first Welsh king of England, may also have been a contender, given his claim to have succeeded King Arthur himself as "Y Mab Darogan", the son of destiny whose coming was foretold in Welsh legend.
Theseus: A Greek name, taken from the legendary hero and founder of Athens. Theseus is perhaps most famous for his slaying of the Minotaur and for building his palace on the site where the Acropolis now stands. Like Rex, he also loses his father in tragic mission-related circumstances.
Rex: Latin for "king" or "ruler". As luck would have it, Paladin Rex once played Henry V in the eponymous Shakespeare play, staged as a gift to Elder Maxson. King Henry indeed.
And lastly...
"Big Daddy": Rex's nickname and callsign as leader of Team X-Ray, the Brotherhood of Steel's SpecOps squad. It originates from the nickname he gave to his own personal weapon, Big Daddy - a massive quad-barreled Minigun, toted with ease by its owner on the battlefield, but too heavy for other heavy weapons specialists to comfortably lift. Rex and his fabled weapon are seldom parted, and eventually Big Daddy's name came to be applied to its owner as well. After all, both are loud, intimidating in size, extremely effective, generally the terror of their enemies, and renowned throughout the Brotherhood for their shared exploits - and the chaos they invariably leave in their wake.
(Faceclaim GIF: Michael Biehn, as Corporal Duane Hicks in "Aliens")
#Paladin Rex#Team X-Ray#Michael Biehn is currently his main faceclaim#also acceptable: Casper Van Dien from Starship Troopers#Young!Rex has to be Jai Courtney though#oddly enough he and Biehn have both played Kyle Reese in the Terminator franchise#Our Bond Is Steel#OBIS#OC Name Origin meme

She-Ra season 2 episodes, ranked
All right, I have a lot of feelings about She-Ra season 2 and what was good and not so good. Iโve been doing a lot of shitposting but this is legit analysis/meta, or at least it wants to be.
To be fair, though Iโm trying to rank these as objectively as possible, it will be influenced by what I care most about and find most interesting in the series. I stan Catra and the Superpal Trio and think Adora is a loveable mess, and I really canโt stand Swift Wind.ย So, take this with a grain of salt. Needless to say, SPOILERS AHEAD.
7. 2x03ย โSignalsโ
I would rank this episode higher, except the A plot was so meh. It felt like it should have been a Halloween special, and if it was Iโd give it a pass, but I found it so thoroughly disinteresting I all but tuned out. Of course, people who stan the Best Friend Squad might have still loved it, but their dynamic isnโt as interesting for me anymore because weโve seen so much of it, and this episode didnโt do much to change it other than add Swift Wind in (and he really, really annoys me). The only real thing it did to move the plot forward was introduce the subplot about the mysterious transmissions, and it didnโt do anything characterization wise. Ultimately, itโs a set up episode, and to be fair it might be more interesting in retrospect once we get some payoff and see where that whole thing is going. But I dunno, I kinda doubt it.
Itโs mostly a set up episode in the other subplots too, but Iย enjoyed watching the political machinations in the Horde because there were real, tangible stakes and important power shifts. Catra learning that having power and authority is not all itโs cracked up to be was a crucial bit of character development.ย That bit of her getting the air sucked out of her lungs was more genuinely scary than the creepy ghost holograms by far. You felt her desperationย trying to save face with Hordak and regain her sense of power and safety after that terrifying threat, and watching Shadow Weaver tune in to and play with her insecurities was a good bit of development for and insight into their relationship. It also foreshadows how easily Shadow Weaver is able to manipulate Catra later in the season.
Meanwhile, Entraptaโs excursions and work with Hordak supplied some comic relief (which I think the A plot also tried and failed to do) and also made the Horde plot take an interesting turn. This is the episode where Catra really starts to lose power, and meanwhile Entrapta gains a lot without even meaning to. She just wanted to fix the problem with Hordakโs experiment, dear girl. On that note,ย I did not expect to enjoy watching Hordak and Entrapta so much, but one thing this show does really well is throw together unexpected combinations of characters and make an amazing dynamic (e.g. the Superpal Trio, Scorpia and Seahawk, Catra and Glimmer and Bow).
The Entrapta subplot was the most interesting of the episode and unfortunately it was relegated to the C plot. This episode would have been way better if theyโd put more focus on the Horde side of things and/or given the โBest Friend Quadโ something with more substance.
6. 2x01ย โThe Frozen Forestโ
This episode was fine, but it didnโt do much to stand out. It was important, of course, to follow up on the end of season 1, and if they had skipped this episode entirely it would have left a huge gap. But with the two main groups of characters not interacting at all in person, there was little reason to be emotionally invested in the fight scenes. We donโt really care if Horde bots get destroyed. It would have been more interesting to see the Superpal Trio directly fighting the Princess Alliance, but on the other hand it did set up just how big a role Entraptaโs tech knowledge was going to play this season. The stuff with the princess alliance was cute, I always enjoy seeing more of Mermista, and they did some character work (which I can always appreciate) with Glimmer and Frosta. But since we only see the princesses once more this season, it hasnโt had much of a chance to pay off yet.
The highlight of this episode was Adora fighting Catra in the simulation and her ensuing conversation with Light Hope.ย (โThere. There.โ andย โI also have buttonsโ were two of my favorite one-liners of the season.) The simulated fight was very cute, and I definitely screamed when Catra grabbed Adoraโs hand while delivering her customaryย โHey Adora,โ right before taking her down. And look, the fact that Catra was flirting so hard with Adora in that simulation means that an AI with very poor social awareness has picked up on their sexual/romantic tension, and thatโs hilarious.
The Horde side of things gave us more time with the Superpal Trio, who are always delightful, but not a ton happened over there either. This episode established that Entrapta has fully moved in to the Fright Zone and Catra is comfortably leading the Hordeโs advances and has respect from Hordak and the Hordeโsย soldiers. It also foreshadows how impressed Hordak is going to become with Entraptaโs work (and unimpressed with Catraโs) when her EKS bots steal the show in that meeting. Finally, the episode introduced the shifted dynamic between Catra and Shadow Weaver now that the power position has flipped. That ongoing subplot was possibly the saddest part of the season, and this one scene did a good job of setting that up.
Overall, this was a good and necessary setup episode, but because it had all that exposition and setup to do we didnโt get a ton of good character/relationship moments (Frosta/Glimmer and Catra/Shadow Weaver being the notable exceptions). So yeah, it was fine. But there were definitely stronger episodes, which we will now get into...
5. 2x04ย โRoll With Itโ
This was a very cute episode, a fun one to watch. The reason Iย ranked it fifth is because there are three very strong episodes this season and 2x07 had higher stakes, being the season (mid-season, lbr) finale. On the Horde side of things, I loved seeing more of Lonnie, Kyle, and Rogelio. Lonnie really shined this episode and I keep waiting for someone to realize how smart and capable she is and promote her. And of course, Scorpia. Darling oblivious Scorpia who just wants to impress her crush. Sheโs not very smart but sheโs earnest af and can pack a punch, and this is the first episode where she really stands out.
The planning session in the rebellion camp was really fun to watch, though Iโm sure I missed a ton of jokes because Iโve never played D&D. The chaotic way the princesses all play off each other was more evident here than in 2x01, which made for some great gags. The different approaches they each take and the different aninmation styles used to portray them were a lot of fun.ย Glimmerโs noir hero fantasies were my favorite, personally. (And apparently she sees Catra as a very sexy villain? I need more on this, please.)
Adoraโs monologue about the worst possible secenario revealed all her insecurities, and it was one of the highlights of the season. Her anxiety issues and messiah complex have been touched on before many times, but this is the first time theyโve really come bubbling to the surface this season. It was really nice to see the whole group reassure her that she isnโt in this alone, much like Bow and Glimmer did before the Battle of Bright Moon.ย And while itโs been hinted at before, this episode really solidified her obsession with Catra. And Scorpiaโs too, as I mentioned above.
Itโs easy to forget thatย Catra wasnโt actually in this episode (AJ Michalka was, but her character was not, not for real) because you felt her presence everywhere. The bit with all the princessesโ different renditions of her was hilarious. But you know, it was nice to see the show put together such a strong episode without Catra. Having the emotional focus on Adora again was a nice change of pace.
4. 2x07ย โReunionโ
This episode gave us what 2x03 lacked: itย made the Best Friend Squad interesting again. That group is most compelling to watch when thereโs conflict among them, like in the stretches of 1x01-1x02 and 1x08-1x10. They werenโt in an actual fight this time, but Glimmer and Adora being so thrown by Bowโs secret family life meant that things didnโt feel โas usual.โ Glimmerโs insecurity about not meaning that much to Bow resurfaced, and Bowโs โcoming outโ scene was extremely moving. But thankfully there was comic relief, too.ย Adora mispronouncing words to try and sound scholarly was a great ongoing gag, and the eventual fight between the Best Friend Squad and the elemental was really fun because it was so chaotic with Bowโs dads being extremely confused.
Okay and look, Bowโs dads. Finally we get to see why Bow is the most well-adjusted person in the group. His parents arenโt perfect, but they did way less to fill their kids with insecurities than Angella or Shadow Weaver. Angellaโs not a bad mom but itโs easy to see why Glimmer feels so inadequate. And Shadow Weaver is, well, Shadow Weaver.
This episode was sort of oddly structured for what is essentially a mid-season finale in the sense that the A plot was about relationships more than the overarching plot, but thatโs not necessarily bad. Andย they tied the plot back in at the end with the reveal about the Crimson Waste, setting us up to finally move forward in this transmissions subplot in season 3.
There wasnโt a lot of time for Horde stuff this episode, butย Scorpia forcibly loving Catra and turning her into a burrito was one of my favorite scenes of the season (maybe I will do a Top 10 later on). Catra opening up to Scorpia about her problems for the second episode in a row was huge, especiallyย after experiencing a heart-shattering betrayal in the previous episode. Catraโs final scene where she gets exposed as a liar and choked out felt a bit truncated to me... like after they set that up as this terrifying threat in 2x03, they lingered a lot less in the terror of that moment in this episode. So that was kind of disappointing, but it still worked well as half of the cliffhanger (the weaker half, imo, but it was still extremely nerve-wracking).
It was hard to pick between #4 and 5 on this list, but ultimately the amazing cliffhanger was what put this one over the top. Both our protagonists are in danger, at the mercy of our two worst villains, and even though I knew what was coming as soon as I saw Adora sleeping, the shot of Shadow Weaver standing over her bed made me scream. I hate this show for leaving me hanging here, so they did it right.
3. 2x02ย โTies That Bindโ
Ranking this one so high may be an unpopular opinion, but I personally loved this episode. I didnโt care much for the B plot except it was good insight into Adora, but the A plot was so delightful it made up for it. Mixing members of the Superpal Trio and Best Friend Squad almost always results in something good... maybe not for the characters, but for the audience.ย Watching Catra and Glimmer play off each otherโs insecurites was great, and it was sweet watching Bow attempting to befriend Catra, just like he did with Adora. The conflict betweenย him and Glimmer about how to treat their hostage felt very in-character, a good callback to the beginning of season 1.
Of course, Catra is a much more annoying hostage than Adora was. Her being a little shit and doing everything she could to get on their nerves was amazing, and I would have gladly watched a full hour episode just of that. The sassiness and manipulation we see from her in this episode balances nicely with the deep emotional stuff she goes through this season in her fight to win approval and prove her worth. It also produced my favorite joke of the season:ย โHow are you such a nightmare?!?โ/โEh, years of practice.โ I felt that in my soul as a youngest child. I also loved all the cat mannerisms they incorporated in this episode, it was very cute.
There is a bit of emotional meat to that story, with Catra and Glimmerโs confrontation at the end after Glimmer says Adora ran away from Catra, not the Horde (rude, btw). But the real emotional moment comes when Bow and Glimmerย find out Entrapta stayed willingly with the Horde. That was heart-breaking. Heart-shattering, even. Especially because Bow and Glimmer feel such guilt for her being left there in the first place. I wish there had been more follow-up on this major emotional beat, but thatโs not a weakness of this episode itself. This was my favorite Entrapta scene of the season, even though there were a lot of other great ones.
Like I said, the B plot was... okay, but not amazing? The bits with Light Hope glitching were funny, if a bit creepy. (But sheโs always creepy, so.) Swift Wind annoys the hell out of me when heโs being hyper, but seeing his eventual heart-to-heart with Adora gave him some good depth and development. Plus, this episode does a really good job of illustrating not only how uptight Adora is, but why. Thereโs that messiah complex again (which I donโt blame her for btw, thatโs Shadow Weaverโs fault). I like episodes that focus on Adora emotionally, and separating her from Glimmer and Bow meant her storyline got to be a bit more serious and in-depth. I just wish it hadnโt beenย opposite Swift Wind... not because it wasnโt effective, but because Adoraโs arc was good but I have little desire to rewatch it if it means I have to watch more of him. Sorry, I guess Iโm an anti.
2. 2x05ย โWhite Outโ
As Iโve said before, this episode is the highlight of season 2. Once again, that has a lot to do with the dynamics that occur whenever we mix members of the Best Friend Squad and Superpal Trio, and this time we got all of them in one place! And they added Seahawk to the mix too, which I didnโt expect to like because he tends to get on my nerves, but pairing him with Scorpia was a move of pure brilliance.
Scorpia and Sea Hawkโs little heart-to-heart about feeling unappreciated and Drunk Adora validating and encouraging them was so so cute and heartwarming. All the Drunk Adora and Scorpia stuff was great, actually. It was funny but also made very textual how much Catradora is an insecurity for Scorpia and how sheโs afraid sheโll never be able to live up to that and Catra will never open up to her the same way. And Adora actually seems to genuinely like Scorpia when sheโs not focused on the evils of the Horde, so thatโs good to know moving forward. And yeah, that pairing also brought us โGirls night in!โ andย the closet joke, another highlight of the season.
In the other mixed grouping,ย Catra and Glimmer renewed their rivalry, and thatโs always fun to watch. Entrapta continued to be her usual chaotic self, and any time we see her interacting with Bow it tends to be a great scene. The reveal at the end that she had the tech all along but didnโt tell Catra because she liked hanging out in this remote place with her friends was really, really cute.
I would be amiss to not mention the Catradora of it all in this episode, because holy shit this is actually the only time they interact in person all season. That is just wrong, by the way, but I did thoroughly enjoy what we got. Itโs very clear they still have an emotional hold over each other despite their attempts toย โlet go,โ between Adoraโs overly-focused anger and Catraโs expressions whenever she hears or sees Adora.ย Adora actually kind of hates Catra right now and I think that caught Catra off guard. Catraโs panic when Evil She-Ra almost killed her was a great moment of vulnerability, how she tried to appeal to the Adora inside. She dropped the act for a moment and genuinely tried to connect with Adora, and maybe it made me tear up a little.
Along those same lines, the one thing that pissed me off about this episode was that we didnโt get to see Catra interacting with Drunk Adora. That would have allowed Adora to interact with Catra in a vulnerable state too, and in general it just would have been amazing. And the trailer kinda suggested we would get to see that, so that made it extra disappointing. Canโt these two just talk about their feelings and actually hear each other and communicate properly, please? Ugh. Still, despite these frustrations, I loved the Catradora content.
But the real highlight of the episode was Scorptra. The scene where Scorpia tried to ask Catra out on a date was amazing and so freaking cute. Of course thereโs also the stuff I mentioned where her insecurities about Adora came spilling out.ย And the look on Catraโs face when Scorpia aborted a mission to save her life and then whisked her away despite her protests... that was a huge moment. She doesnโt think of herself as worth saving, but someone else does. And despite the fact that Scorpia disobeyed direct orders, I think this is where Catra really comes to trust her. Itโs certainly where she comes to respect her.ย And then they shared a blanket! God, this was so cute. I expected to enjoy the Catradora stuff more but a) there wasnโt all that much of it and b) this was so incredibly pure and sweet, watching Scorpia finally make some headway and Catra finally open up to someone again, even if it was only a little bit.ย I am a multi-shipper now, I canโt help it.
1. 2x06ย โLight Spinnerโ
It was hard choosing between this and White Out for top spot, but Iโm a slut for villain backstories. This episode was the less entertaining of the two, and I think Iโd have to say White Out is my subjective favorite, but objectively I do think this is the better episode. Why? Character development.
Shadow Weaver was a bit too twirly-moustache of a villain at times in season 1, so seeing how she became what she is now did a lot for her character. Seeing how a desire to do good mixing with a thirst for power can drive someone to make mistakes and turn evil was very interesting, and having Micah be part of the backstory made it all the more compelling.
The ways Shadow Weaver tries to mold people with more intrinsic power than her so she can use that power was a crucial new insight, one weโve never seen before. It explains why sheโs so obessed with Adora, which was never really explained in season 1. And it also suggests that part of Shadow Weaverโs dislike for Catra came from Adoraโs connection to and therefore influence over her. Shadow Weaver wanted Adoraโs loyalty to be to her above all, even above the Horde, and Adora having a close friend (whoโs a rebellious loose cannon, to boot) was a danger to that goal.
This episode is essentially about Shadow Weaver and Catra, both separately and together, and it does a great job of drawing parallels between them even before Shadow Weaver outright tells Catra that they are the same. They both go off on a rant about how no matter what they do, no one listens to or respects them. Shadow Weaver seems to have a bit of a self-loathing streak that she took out on Catra, too... kinda like Glimmer being annoyed by all her worst qualities manifesting in Frosta.
As for Catra, it shocked me that she was so upset about Shadow Weaver being sent away to die. Though she obviously still craved Shadow Weaverโs approval, I didnโt expect her to react so badly to this. Clearly Scorpia didnโt either, and her trying to tease Catraโs reasons out of her was sweet. It was nice to see Catra continuing to open up to Scorpia after that moment with the blanket at the end ofย White Out, but thereโs still a lot sheโs holding inside. She still genuinely cares about Shadow Weaver despite how sheโs beenย trying to hurt her for revenge and her own satisfaction... that sound familiar?
And unfortunately, Catraโs connection to Shadow Weaver and her need for maternal love and approval was her downfall. After she mocked the rebellion for their bleeding hearts and how easily manipulated they are, mind you. This is whereย Catraโs tendency to sympathize with Shadow Weaver (which we saw at least twice in season 1) finally came back to bite her in the ass. It was terribly sad because Catra actually has a big heart and Shadow Weaver knew that and took advantage of it.
Itโs hard to say how much Shadow Weaver meant of what she said to Catra when they had their big confrontation. It wasnโt clear whether or not she had seen her badge hidden in the food, whether she was only trying to manipulate Catra or if she was being earnest about any of it. Was the physical affection she gave her genuine, her way of making up for things and saying goodbye, or was she just fucking with Catra? I dunno, but either way this betrayal she pulled was awful, and if she was trying to be nice she wouldโve been better off holding Catra at a distance than letting her get her hopes up.ย For real, Catraโs reaction when she realized Shadow Weaver had used and betrayed her was gut-wrenching, one of the rawest moments weโve seen from her. I might have cried, a lot. She let herself be vulnerable in a way she rarely does, and for that she got absolutely obliterated emotionally. Again.
So yeah, this wasnโt a particularly fun episode, but it was a very strong episode of television and it did a lot to make Shadow Weaver more fleshed out and interesting. It finally brought one of the showโs most fraught relationships into the spotlight and let it combust in front of us, and as painful as it was to watch, I canโt help rewatching the Catra and Shadow Weaver scenes again and again. I never expected Catra to so openly ask Shadow Weaver why she was never good enough for her and what she did to deserve all the abuse. It was an incredibly rewarding scene to watch with great emotional payoff. And for a stan like me, that made it the best episode of the season.

U.K.โs Nigel Farage Calls Trump Genius
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Aug. 2, 2019.--Praising 73-year-old President Donald Trump for his July 14 โgo backโ comments to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-.N.Y.), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), and Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), Brexit founder Nigel Frage called Trump a โgenius.โ Vilified in the U.S. press as โracist,โ Trumpโs comments were taken out of context, when the president was saying if the four freshman Congresswoman are so unhappy in the U.S., they should go back to their countries of origin and do something constructive. ย What the press doesnโt say is that all three Congresswoman call for Trumpโs impeachment, believing, without a shred of proof, that he committed high-rimes-and-misdemeanors. ย โWhy donโt they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came,โ Trump. ย Trumpโs remarks sparked outrage in the U.S. press.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Trump knew that three-of-the-four Congresswomen were born in the United States, despite having family ties in Somalia, Puerto Rico, and Palestine. ย Pressley is a black citizen hailing from Massachusetts. No one in the press talks about the fact that all four Congresswomen call for Trumpโs impeachment without evidence of high-crimes-and-misdemeanors. ย When Special Counsel Robert Mueller said in his March 22 final report that neither Trump nor anyone in his campaign conspired with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election, Democrats doubled down making up their own charges without evidence. ย Democrats held onto Muellerโs statement that he could not โexonerateโ Trump, despite the fact that itโs not the role of the Special Counsel to exonerate anyone. ย Proper Department of Justice Protocol requires federal prosecutors to make โdeclinationโ decisions when thereโs no evidence.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Omar, Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib and Pressley insist Trump committed obstruction of justice because there were rumors that he asked his legal counsel Don McGahan to fire Mueller. ย โI thought, โDear, oh dear.โ ย You realize , 48 hours on, it was genius because whatโs happened is the Democrats gather round the Squad, which him to say,โ Oh look, the Squad are the center of the Democratic Party,โ Farage said. ย Farage credits Trumpโs strong backing in 2016 for the Brexit voter where 52% of the British public voted June 23, 2916 to exit the European Union. Farageโwho has his detractorsโsees Trump at masterfully playing the U.S. media, leaving most journalists bullied into accepting the Brexit deal. ย Former Prime Minister Theresa May lost her job over getting a satisfactory Brexit deal from the EU. ย Replaces by former U.K. Foreign Minister Boris Johnson, Farage has more power than ever.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Farage called Trump a genius because he thinks he shifted the media to the โQuad-Squadโ calling the shots in the Democrat Party. ย While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) believe impeachment would backfire on Democrats, the โQuad-Squadโ think s only good for the Democrat Party would happen. ย โHeโs remarkably good at what he does,โ Farage said, speaking about Trump. ย โHe [Trump] does things his way. But he is a remarkably effective operator,โ Farage said, encouraging Johnson to follow in Trumpโs footsteps. ย Trumpโs โgo backโ remarks gave Democrats their talking points heading into the 2020 presidential election, saying Trump was a racist. But if you put Trumpโs comments in context, knowing the Quad-Squad wants Trump impeached, youโd realize his remarks were much less about racism and much more payback for pushing impeachment.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Labor Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn said Trumpโs remarks were โracist,โ pointing fingers at Farage and newly minted Prime Minister Boris Johnson. ย Corbyn would like nothing more than to see Johnson fail so that the Parliament could call new elections to offer himself as Prime Minister. ย Corbynโs so reviled in the Tory Party, theyโd paralyze government rather that accept the Labor Party leader. ย Ukip [Britainโs Independent Party] Party Leader Nigel Farage has many common ties to Johnson and the Tory Party, opposes any attempt by Corbyn to become Prime Minister. ย Back in 2016, Farage tapped in to British resentment of Arab and North African immigrants, especially in the years after the 2005 London Underground bombing July 7, 2005. ย After the June 3, 2017 London Bridge truck-ramming terror attack, Londoners were less tolerant of Mideast and North African f refugees.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Trumpโs โgo backโ remarks sparks the same kind of outrage in London. ย Recent terror attacks on the London Bridge June 7, 2017 reminded voters that foreigners have caused more problems in the U.K. much like the United States. Farage is one of Trumpโs biggest fans in the U.K., having played a role in Trumpโs 2016 election. ย When the Brexit frenzy was in full swing in 2016, Farage rose in his stature in U.K. politics. ย Democrats were up in arms, asking for Trumpโs impeachment after his โgo backโ remarks. ย Trump wanted to get back at the Quad-Squad backing Trumpโs impeachment, regardless of the facts. ย When Trump calls on the Quad-Squad to โgo back,โ Trumpโs really saying he wants the Congresswomen to stop calling for his impeachment. ย Thereโs nothing racist about Trump calling out vociferous Congresswomen calling for his impeachment without evidence of high-crimes-and-misdemeanors.

In the summer of 1914, New York Police Department captain Tom Tunney is preoccupied by Manhattan's raging gang rivalries and has little idea that, halfway around the world, a much more ominous threat to the city is brewing. As Germany teeters on the brink of war, its ambassador to the United States is given instructions to find and finance a team of undercover saboteurs who can bring America to its knees before it has a chance to enter the conflict on the side of the Allies. At the page-turning pace of a spy thriller, Dark Invasion tells the remarkable true story of Tunney and his pivotal role in discovering, and delivering to justice, a ruthless ring of German terrorists determined to annihilate the United States. Overwhelmed and undermatched, Tunney's small squad of cops was the David to Germany's Goliath, the operatives of which included military officers, a germ warfare expert, a gifted Harvard professor, a bomb technician, and a document forger. As explosions leveled munitions plants and destroyed cargo ships, particularly in and around New York City, pan- icked officials talked about rogue activists and anarchistsโbut it was Tunney who suspected that these incidents were part of something bigger and became determined to bring down the culprits.Through meticulous research, Blum deftly reconstructs an enthralling, vividly detailed saga of subterfuge and bravery. Enhanced by more than fifty images sourced from global archives, his gritty, energetic narrative follows the German spiesโwith Tunney hot on their heelsโfrom the streets, harbors, and warehouses of New York City to the genteel quads of Harvard, the grand estates of industry tycoons, and the steps of the U.S. Capitol. The New York Police Department's breathtaking efforts to unravel the extent of the German plot and close in on its perpetrators are revealed in this riveting account of America's first encounter with a national security threat unlike any otherโthe threat of terrorismโthat is more relevant now than ever.

as the US ever had martial law?
In the United States, martial law has been used in a limited number of circumstances, such as New Orleans during the Battle of New Orleans; after major disasters, such as the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, or during riots, such as the Omaha race riot of 1919 or the 1920 Lexington riots; ...

Spartan Assault Tank
The Spartan Assault Tank, sometimes referred to as the Land Raider Spartan, is a heavy-assault transport that was originally used by the Space Marine Legions during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy, and later by the Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes that still possess them in their armoury. The Spartan is a massive vehicle, and is one of the largest ground vehicles ever used by the Space Marines, smaller only than their ancient super-heavy vehicles such as the Mastodon, Fellblade, and Falchion. The Spartan also has the largest carrying capacity of all non-super-heavy vehicles, with the ability to carry 25 Power Armoured Space Marines or 12 Astartes in Terminator Armour. The Spartan is an extremely durable and completely sealed assault transport armed with heavy weapons and possessed of a high transport capacity, but the true genius of the Spartan is that the greater proportion of its interior space is given over to carrying capacity, and yet the vehicle's engine and drive system still allows it to travel at speeds much higher than that of similar-sized transports, such as the Gorgon used by the Imperial Army and the Astartes' own Mastodon. The Spartan Assault Tank was used by most, if not all of the Space Marine Legions during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy, and after the Legions were broken down into Chapters during the Second Founding many of the newly-formed Space Marine units retained several of these vehicles in their armouries. It is unknown if the Adeptus Mechanicus is able to build new Spartan Assault Tanks in the late 41st Millennium or if the technology has been lost like so much else from the Great Crusade era.
History
The Spartan Assault Tank was designed by the Mechanicum of Mars for the Space Marine Legions as a way to carry their Terminators into combat. This was because the Land Raider Proteus, the only Land Raider the Space Marine Legions had access to early in the Great Crusade, was unable to carry the bulk of Terminators and a way to carry these highly-effective warriors quickly into combat was needed. One tale says that the Spartan was designed specifically so that an Astartes strike force could cross a region ablaze with raging plasma fires, referred to as the Ring of Death. The Space Marines amassed their Terminators and used the first Spartans to carry them across this region, losing all but a fraction of the Terminator Squads. The sacrifice proved not in vain though as the battle was eventually won, and a new war machine was born in its aftermath.
Armament
The Spartan Assault Tank is heavily-armed with powerful weaponry, and is more than capable of defending itself from an attack. The Spartan is a powerful war machine in its own right, as it is fully capable of destroying entire squads of enemy infantry or tanks with its heavy weapons. The Spartan is armed with two sponson-mounted Quad-Lascannons, one on each side of the tank, and a single, hull-mounted, forward-firing twin-linked Heavy Bolter. The tank's Quad-Lascannons are able to make quick work of most armoured vehicles, and its twin-linked Heavy Bolters are used to provide covering fire for disembarking troops. The Spartan can replace its Quad-Lascannons for Laser Destroyer Arrays, which are useful against both enemy heavy armour and infantry. The Spartan is also always equipped with both a searchlight and smoke launchers, but can also be equipped with a Hunter-Killer Missile Launcher, an auxiliary drive system that can be used if the vehicle's main drive system is damaged or destroyed, a Flare Shield, an extra layer of armoured ceramite for increased protection at the cost of speed, and a dozer blade for clearing debris and mines. The tank can also be outfitted with a Pintle-mounted weapon, such as a Storm Bolter, a Heavy Flamer, or a Multi-Melta. During the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy, the Spartan Assault Tank could have been armed with other weapons such as a Combi-Bolter, another Combi-weapon, or a Havoc Missile Launcher. The Spartan can also have Frag Assault Launchers attached to its front, on either side of the front debarkation ramp, to blast the targeted area with shrapnel before its cargo of troops disembark. Like all Land Raiders and their variants, the Spartan Assault Tank is equipped with a powerful Machine Spirit, which is capable of taking control of the vehicle and its weapons if the crew is killed or otherwise unable to operate the vehicle.
Variants
Typhon Heavy Siege Tank - The Typhon Heavy Siege Tank is a variant of the Spartan Assault Tank that was designed to be used during sieges and is equipped with a powerful siege weapon known as the Dreadhammer Siege Cannon. The Typhon was developed by the Mechanicum during the Great Crusade in response to a request by the Primarch of the Iron Warriors Legion, Perturabo, for an Astartes vehicle that could quickly deploy heavy, fortress-breaking firepower to the front lines, so that no time would be lost waiting for the Imperial Army's slow artillery batteries.
Cerberus Heavy Tank Destroyer - The Cerberus Heavy Tank Destroyer was a rare experimental variant of the Spartan Assault Tank. The Cerberus was designed by the Mechanicum to use the massive internal space of the Spartan's chassis to mount a Neutron Laser Projector, a more powerful and unstable variant of the Neutron Laser Cannon that would later be used by the Astartes' Sabre Tank Hunters and the Valdor Tank Hunters of the Imperial Army. It is believed that the Neutron Laser Battery was scaled down to create the smaller, and more stable, Neutron Laser Cannon. As the Cerberus was used to field-test the first Neutron-based weaponry, they were not as widely mass-produced as the other Spartan variants.
Land Raider Phobos - Although the Land Raider Phobos does not use the Spartan's chassis, many of the design features of the Spartan, and the older Land Raider Proteus, would be incorporated into the the first Land Raider that could transport Terminators. Sometime during the latter half of the Great Crusade the Mechanicum developed the Land Raider Phobos as the primary replacement for the Land Raider Proteus. The Land Raider Phobos takes the best of both the Land Raider Proteus and the Spartan Assault Tank's designs. As a testament to the robust nature of this design, the Land Raider Phobos is still used by every single Space Marine Chapter after nearly 10,000 standard years, and has even spawned many common variants of its own.
Chaos Spartan Assault Tank - The Spartan Assault Tank was used on both sides of the Horus Heresy, and after the death of Horus at the hands of the Emperor the surviving Traitor Primarchs and their Legions fled Imperial space, most to the Eye of Terror. These Legions took their Spartan Assault Tanks with them, where they would be corrupted and twisted by the malign powers of the Warp. Spartan Assault Tanks used by the Traitor Legions are armed with weaponry no longer used by the Imperium, such as Reaper Autocannons, Havoc Missile Launchers, and Pintle-mounted Combi-Weapons. The vehicle's crew may even be permanently fused to the vehicle itself, or the tank may be controlled by Daemons.
Known Users of the Spartan Assault Tank
The following are the known users of the Spartan Assault Tank:
Space Marine Legions - The Spartan Assault Tank was used by most, if not all, of the original Space Marine Legions during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy. Some Legions, such as the Death Guard and the Sons of Horus, made especially extensive use of the Spartan tank.
Second Founding Chapters - When the Space Marine Legions were broken up into 1,000 man Chapters during the Second Founding any Spartan Assault Tanks that survived the Horus Heresy and the Great Scouring were divided up and given to these newly formed Chapters. It is unknown if the present day Adeptus Mechanicus is able to build new Spartans or if the technology has been lost.
Chaos Space Marine Legions - After the death of Horus Lupercal at the end of the Horus Heresy, the nine Traitor Legions either fled to the Eye of Terror or into uncharted space, taking any surviving Spartans with them. Chaos Spartan Assault Tanks are corrupted and twisted by their exposure to the Warp, yet this has not negatively affected the vehicle's performance or capacity for destruction in any way.
