I HC that yes Qi Qingqi would be wary of Shen Qingqiu at first (bc of rumors about him being a lecherous pervert- liu Qingge I love you but I'm also glaring at you for that incident which started it all) But once she sees that hes not a threat, at least of not that kind of abuse, (She's watched him with NNY closely now for years) she would be an older sister to him in everything but rank. Them slowly building up to a tea session, it takes months but it happens. SJ doesn't open up, Qi Qingqi doesn't probe. But they manage to have civil conversations about things anyway. Neither of them have to ask for forgiveness; SJ for his brittle temperament, QQQ for believing in rumors or even being responsible for spreading them.

Banter, good tea and harmless gossip is enough for them to bond and establish a barely acknowledged sibling relationship

I think the top tweet is a bad faith interpretation of this sign. These protestors aren't telling Jewish people they should be in hell. They're talking to the Israeli invading force. The soldiers that have been bombing them.

I disagree. All Jews, even ones you don’t like, are indigenous to the Levant.

IDF soldiers don’t deserve antisemitism for being “bad.”

No Jews deserve antisemitism for being “bad.”

Muslims don’t deserve Islamophobia for being “bad.”

Hamas terrorists don’t deserve Islamophobia or anti-Arab hatred for for being “bad.”

People of any marginalized group do not deserve to face bigoted discrimination for being “bad.”

When you criticize people who you dislike from a marginalized group while weaponizing that group’s identity against them, then you are insulting all members of that group. Not just the ones you don’t like.

Bigotry is not ok. Ever. Period.

Day After Christmas – NASDAQ & Russell 2000 Up 72.2% Of Time

Santa Claus Rally starts today. The Santa Claus Rally was discovered and named by Yale Hirsch in 1972 and published in our 1973 Stock Trader’s Almanac as the last five trading days of the year and the first two trading days of the New Year. This short, sweet rally is usually good for about 1.3% on the S&P 500, but the real significance of the SCR is as an indicator. 

It is our first seasonal indicator of the year ahead. Years when there was no Santa Claus Rally tended to precede bear markets or times when stocks hit significantly lower prices later in the year. As Yale’s famous line states (2025 Almanac page 118): “If Santa Claus Should Fail To Call, Bears May Come to Broad and Wall.” 

NASDAQ and Russell 2000 have logged the greatest frequency and magnitude of gains on the day after Christmas. Since 1988, NASDAQ has advanced 72.2% of the time with an average move of +0.38%. R2K has also advanced 72.2% of the time with an average advance of +0.40%. DJIA and S&P 500 have slightly softer records, but bullish, nonetheless. 

Two days after Christmas, the market is less bullish with NASDAQ down more often than up. Three days after Christmas R2K small caps take the lead advancing 63.9% of the time with an average gain of +0.49%. 

Looking further out, from 1950-1985 last 5 trading days of the year S&P 500 up 34 of 36 years, average gain 1.24%. 1986-2023 up 21 of 38 (no change in 2006), average gain 0.44%.

Hello fellow US jumblr folks!

I’ve just voted! Like many of you, I’ve felt extremely betrayed by the lack of empathy from fellow leftists, but remain committed to leftist ideals.

My city offers a progressive voter guide which is really helpful. I’m pleased that most of my choices remained unaffected by current events. There were a few extremely…icky conundrums for me on the ballot though.

If you, like me, wish to protect your fellow Jews, here and in Israel, without damning Palestinian Civilians, I found that my state and city have a council for progressive Jewish voters that tends to have more nuance than what we’ve been seeing in more mainstream leftist spaces. Actually, the one I found specifically stated that they stand with Israeli leftists who are opposing Bibi and wish to find a peaceful solution for the region. I’d recommend that, if anything in your progressive voter guides gives you pause, look for a specifically Jewish progressive voter guide.

Also, if you’re an antisemite looking to come hate on me don’t start. Go back to the previous paragraph and read the literal first sentence. It is in blue text so it stands out. I have said nothing that should offend you. I have said nothing that harms or advocates for harm of innocent people.

PS: allies who care about Jewish leftists feel free to use those guides as well.
