what think/hope/pray will happen after ep 5 -

first off im running on the assumption that devils minion romantic/long form relationship has already happened in the past. my evidence (not really) for this is that i don’t believe their dynamic works properly with old man daniel because he doesn’t want to be turned anymore, so i can’t see that side of their combative push and pull working. you can argue that the only flashbacks daniel has are of the night in san francisco and nothing else, however he also seems to exclusively have flashbacks of only armand and not louis, which implies to me there is more to him and armand (ignore the fact we still have no idea if the flashbacks are organic or if armand is sending them to him purposely, or that we don’t know if armand knows he’s having them ok thanks). also obviously the whole alice/armand from ep 2. whether you’re a truther or not, you can’t argue that the show wasn’t purposefully setting up armand as a comparison to alice in that scene and others since she’s been brought up a lot this and last season.

anyway, i think the flashback section of ep 5 will end with armand either locking him in the basement or setting off their chase. if non of these, i think it’ll end with framing armand and daniels past relationship as something purely horrifying to current daniel. in the ep preview, he’s only sitting and talking with louis about it without armand present, which i’m assuming is purposeful on daniels part. then i think daniel is gonna step out of the dubai apartment probably from a negative reaction and run into raglan james/whoever the fuck talamasca man claims he is, which is where that whole trailer scene “you fear armand, you should fear the other one” comes from. we kinda have no other scenes from dubai that we can piece together from trailers after that, other than we know daniel goes back to the interview, and we get the scenes like louis throwing shit, books falling on daniel, walls cracking etc.

the final thing i hope and pray happens is in either ep 7 or 8 that no one has seen yet, we get some sort of in your face no context no build up confirmation that armand and daniels relationship was romantic at one point. like i’m thinking either some sort of out of left field flashback, daniel finding his photo in the threesome partner pile or more information on the “paramours” folder on the laptop. like i don’t put it past them at all to leave it on a cliffhanger for next season (pray) where bang we get some sort of explicit confirmation and that’s all we get, and we’re left with daniel being like “what the actual fuck”. the vibe i gather from interviews with cast and crew, i don’t think they’ve adapted a ton of devils minion yet, but they have added something after ep 5 and do plan to carry it on.

obviously this could all be bullshit because the context of why is daniel remembering, is it because of armand, is it natural, was it even armand who whipped his memories, did devils minion even happen properly?? like we still know nothing. so hope ep 5 answers some of those things for us. thank you for entertaining my brain rot because anticipating this ep has consumed my entire week.

Part 2 theories

So like everyone I have been brain rotting over part one and the trailer for part 2! I am firmly in the living for the season camp, although would never so no to more Polin lol.

As an anxious girlie (who is equal parts dreading and excited for the LW fallout) that preview gave me heart palpitation's 🫡. So I have been scouring all four corners of the web for spoilers and I have a theory for part 2, leave now to not be spoiled!

I don’t think this clip from the promo is the mirror scene and they are faking us out…. Shocking I know.

So we also see this dress here:

Which some internet sources report is from episode 5 when Colin has a major bust up with Portia and then he takes Pen to see their new house. At which Pen is very emotional because nobody has ever stood up for her before and they ahem… finish what they started in the carriage. 😱😱

Also before anyone says I know the hair is different, however you show me anyone who’s hair stays perfectly in place after having their shit rocked by their sexy pirate fiancé who just ripped ya mum a new one.

This is all supposedly before their wedding and before Colin discovers LW and I don’t think the mirror scene will happen before this point. Which would also make sense as the most anticipated scene I don’t think Netflix would want to spoil it in the trailers, baring maybe the carriage scene which was also noticeably absent from all P1 promo (maybe even more anticipated seeing as it doesn’t happen in the book and is only referenced as boob man Colin’s fantasy (can you blame him)). As well as the connotations of what the mirror scene represents, it doesn’t make narrative sense to put it before she reveals every part of herself to him and he reaffirms that he adores every part of her. At the very least I am manifesting this because I’ll cry if it is before 🙃.

So that being said I think this is a fake out showing their first time in their new home in ep 5 that ISNT the mirror scene which would come in maybe ep 7 or 8 following LW Fallout.

So thanks for coming to my ted talk or better described as a theorising ramble so I don’t loose my actual marbles over the next 4 weeks (I’m at a big old age of 8 and twenty and I can’t be doing with this stress hun okay I have a full time job and responsibilities, I can’t be obsessing like I’m 16 again).

What’s interesting is when I first saw the preview (of Ray saying he won’t let him walk out of his life) for that scene in the trailer I thought that Ray was saying it in a smug way or in a really possessive way and I continued that fear after we saw the episode 8 preview, but clearly with context of what happened in the previous episode and with the way we saw it in the preview for next episode, that is not the case (and I’m happy about that). I forget where the clip is from but there is a little preview of that scene I saw and Ray’s face looks so pleading and desperate in a way I don’t think we’ve ever seen with Sand, except for maybe at the end of the end of 5 or when he grabs Sand’s arm when he’s trying to leave in their beginning of ep 7 scene. And in both of those scenes they never got to talk Sand just says he’s fine and goes to sleep in episode 5 and then they get interrupted in ep 7 and also Sand doesn’t want to talk anymore so Ray never gets to say what he truly wants when he’s looking that pleading. And Ray is always flirting- pleading with and desperate for Sand but not in the way he seems in the preview. 

I think both the trailer and previews are really good at misdirection. Yeah, even the SandRay fight scene at the party seemed to be portrayed a lot differently that it actually went down in the episode, with Ray’s behavior seeming more pathetic and desperate than purely dickish. It seems to be the case with the music room scene as well.

I think you’re right—Ray is always pleading towards Sand, but it’s always been casual and flirtatious. Only in those specific scenes you reference do we see actual pleading. It’s not “na” (affectionate”) it’s “na” (desperate). Not “Please indulge me” but instead, “Please listen to me.”

I came across this image on Twitter a while back, and it’s pretty blurry but I think it might be the desperate look you’re referring to about Ray:

All I’m thinking is, if anything was going to put a dent in Sand’s resolve when it comes to walking away from Ray, it’s that look. Even Sand looks caught off guard in that pic^. Possibly wondering if this is a trick? Is Ray being sincere? All signs point to yes imo.

WE HAVEN'T SEEN THEM HAVING SEX!

(and by that I mean, we haven't seen the closure of that scene)

Because I've seen some people talk about how things were handled this last episode, I want to point out that (at least for) the last couple of episodes, we had new episodes starting right from where we left off in the previous week (I can't remember if that was the case in earlier episodes).

I know we had a scene in the trailer I think that shows both Pisaeng and Kawi in bed shirtless, and maybe I'm putting too much faith in the people behind the scenes, but so far, I think they've earned some credit.

I don't personally think they'll leave Pisaeng and Kawi's first time happen without them discussing things beforehand. Their relationship is based on communication!

I might sound too hopeful, but I'm actually optimistic that Kawi's issues with being intimate with his significant other will be brought out in the beginning of next week's episode. I can't see them being the lovely couple like in the preview from ep. 11 if they aren't honest about their needs, wants and boundaries.

OF Episode 9 Thoughts

I had to watch without my friend this week so it was a less exciting experience without the usual screaming, but this ep was so good. Honestly I don’t know why people are worried about the show not having enough episodes left to wrap up all their plot lines because they cover SO MUCH GROUND in every episode

first off I’ve been internally screaming about SandNick since the promo pics dropped AHFKFJDJDJD THE WHIPLASH THIS CREW HAS PUT MY THROUGH TODAY.

Ray peaked in his full problematic era and it was finally to the point where I could fully enjoy it. Go girl, pressure Mew into having sex. Cheat on the boy you’ve been chasing for years, give Sand that toxic romance energy!

Top spent this whole episode in a precarious balance of trying to do right by Mew but pushing things too far, and he was always one sentence away from getting punched.

Atom son, you can’t say you weren’t warned or that Boston promised anything more. Boston’s “what the fuck?” was me too LMAO he just wanted to mind his own business doing photography research 😭

SANDNICK WERE EVERYTHING THIS EPISODE THO

I loved Nick coming in with “the logical conclusion is for us to have sex”

disappointment of my life that it didn’t click for them I WOULDN’T HAVE MINDED IF THEY WERE ENDGAME

The SandRay convo in the river was the healthiest communication we have seen from any of these boys. Again we see the transformative effects of water 🙌

Also I was just so glad to hear Sand say so many things that needed to be said. That Ray could have gotten him arrested, that he treats Sand like a possession, that he needs to be nicer to Sand!

Mew falling asleep on his own couch is the realest sign of being Not Okay. I think he really needed some time with his parents, even if he couldn’t talk to them about what he was going through. Sometimes having an outsiders perspective that you’re not doing well can mean so much. I really think they were the catalyst for Mew sobering up. I’ll dig more into this later.

Honestly a relief that Top showed up at Mew’s to talk to him and not because he was stalking him and his moms. I can only deal with one stalker per episode thanks 😔🤚

Nick kissing two men in one ep YOU GO SON

I’m also glad Top decided not to show the video to Mew! So many good decisions this episode!! I hope he recognized that Mew has been through enough of that kind of drama and that there are better ways to learn about this kind of thing.

Also so glad MewRay talked things out and parted cleanly. Sometimes ppl really do gotta date a friend to figure out that it doesn’t work.

I appreciated the MewCheum convo a lot too.

Honestly this episode ended way more cleanly than I was expecting after part one. I think if Top had shown Mew that video, Mew really might have lost it and just killed someone.

Rambling ep6-7 thoughts

I think the first cracks really started the night before with Stede's first kill and his response to it.

Ed might have warned against the killing but he didn't stop Stede, knew it had to be his choice. and Stede did choose. and then appeared, as we the audience and also Ed, might expect. He's upset.

When Ed goes to comfort him, likely expecting a mess, he instead finds a horny Stede, perhaps not the response he was execting,but could have been seen by him as masking, as Stede trying to cover his response, bury it in feeling good, in Ed.

Then the next morning, despite the boat being damaged, the crew tortured, them both tortured, Stede having killed a man, his first kiss, Stede isn't put off by the life, he's still all in, even more so if anything. He's prepared for and even light-hearted about future death-defying.

Ed, however? Ed's been over it a long time, which we and Stede know. It's basically the first thing we learn about Ed from Ed himself.

Ed seemed so proud when stede was approached by fans, he wasn't jealous, he seemed supportive BUUUUUT stede's response to his "first kill" definitely threw Ed, its so different t ed's own, its not how ed would have expected stede to respond, and i think the seeds of panic and doubt were being sown. Stede revelled in (for his own reasons, when you've spent 40+ years being told you're shit, having people look up to you is intoxicating and this is all he's wanted for years so he's losing a part of himself, a part Ed loves dearly) the notority of the kill, while Ed buried his feelings about his first kill so deep he creditedd it to a mythological sea creature.

Ed wants to be away from piracy. Piracy is not the life for him. it kept him alive, but it isn't his life. and now it's killing him, has been for a while. so he wants to be just Ed, learn who Ed is. Not the Kraken, not blackbeard, just Ed Teach Born On A Beach. (and the preview/trailer scene were we see Ed coming out fo the water in his leathers he's clearly retrieved, ed being reborn on the beacchhhhh oh symbolism let me consume you)

I feel like in order for Ed to feel he could be safe to explore being "just Ed" he needed Stede to be his constant, to be his lighthouse, to be the stede he expected him to be, and suddenly he's not quite, and now Ed's questioning not only himself but also stede. he's a ship adrift and now the lighthouse is going out. just as in s1 stede's view of pirates in general and Blackbeard specifically was questioned and he had to shift his view and expectations, now Ed's of Stede are shifting, but the opposite way - he knew stede, know he's learning The Gentleman Pirate.

they need to communicate so they can meet as Ed and Stede, and blackbeard and GP, so they can see each other's true selves and natures and not what they expect to see.

They did START to communicate in the start of ep 7, showing vulnerability to each other by discussing the vision and the love letters but then it all fell apart.

In a way, Ed is pink-clouding. He symbolically tthrew away piracy, he is high on love and stede and the idea of giving it all up to run away with stede and own an inn. but as that euphoria fades, as it becomes more and more and more obvious that he and stede aren't on the same page - that Ed is at the end of his career and stede at the apex of his - doubt creeps in.

FEAR creeps in

Panic creeps in

Ed is not a man used to fear or panic. he's been numb for so long. the last time he truly felt either to such a degree i suspect was the killing of his father and whay did he do then/? he ran away to piracy. now he wants to run away from it. and now, Stede has become a pirate, he's become an accepted part of piracy and so must be run from too.

he's terrified of everything he feels - the love and the fear, the panic and the euphoria, and so he runs.

so yeah thats my jumbled badly ordered thoughts!

KinnPorsche Ep. 7 — Predictions & Musings

So we've seen almost every scene from the trailer, the episode preview gave us next to nothing, and it looks like the side story might be setting us up for a time jump. Since we're essentially going in semi blind at this point, let's have some fun figuring out what'll happen :D

So after looking at the placement of Kinn's bandages above, I'm about 75-90% sure that we'll be getting this scene.

At first, I thought that the white fabric might've been a t-shirt or something, but we all know that our beloved Kinn is part of the big tiddie committee and is not very fond of covering them up #freethetiddies — so I think this scene maybe happens shortly after Kinn is discharged from the hospital. Clearly they're still very much in their honeymoon phase :')

Next up, the most anticipated Slap Scene™️

There's been some talk in the fandom about possibly getting this scene and I can see it happening. How we're getting there is a mystery, but I have a working theory. In the preview, we see that Korn sends Porsche (and Pete) undercover at the casino. Then later, Vegas asks Porsche to come work for him.

Unbeknownst to Kinn, Porsche might have actually gone to work for Vegas because to me, the pants Porsche has on in this scene look like something bodyguards working for the minor family would wear.

Porsche once again failing to heed Kinn's warnings about the minor family and possibly working for them will exacerbate Kinn's trust issues finally bringing them to the surface. The presumed betrayal will be the catalyst for their very intense argument.

I still can't make head or tails of Vegas and Pete yet so I don't know if we'll get any progression in their storyline. The same goes for Kim and Chay.

With all of that said, I am fully prepared to put on my clown makeup if none of this happens. Either way, it's going to be an episode of epic proportions and I will welcome my inevitable descent into oblivion with open arms lol

the way he stops to put all his stuff away before going to the fight and the way his friend is completely used to it

this is some professional looking fighting for just a bunch of college students

iconic reunion for patpran, the scene is even better knowing it’s the first time they’ve seen each other in 3 years

next ep preview: the chaos of pat getting a note on his door and instantly thinking it’s a girl and they have a crush on him, pran thinking the note back is also a girl, them being the spiderman meme when they realize it’s each other

this first episode has exceeded my expectations, and while it was different than what i was expecting, it was definitely better than what i was expecting, so im excited to watch their relationship develop now and see all the cute moments from the credits

yeah, part of me is sad that there's only 8 episodes because the show really is so, so good (and it's such a mood esp in October/November) but the narrative and editing are so tight that I really don't mind? I know lots of people would rather binge supernatural BLs because of the suspense but I really hope the show does well. Even on mdl people seem to praise it so 🤞

I think there's only one other girl in the credits and that's Pluem's sister so maybe you're right? That would be so cute! I am so here for the rise of GL in 2022 😍 Let's just hope See-Nam has enough merit points left so they get to see each other (or maybe Kevin can help out since he doesn't have to be saved from ghosts anymore... I've read somewhere that the two leads have crazy chemistry behind the scenes and it totally shows on-screen. I can't wait for next Wednesday (or Thursday in Thai time, I guess) because going by the preview they seem to be spending a lot of quality time alone. Poor Kevin probably really needs it. Funny how the doppelganger ghost didn't really faze him but his ghost family does (which, you know, rude! they made him a bday cake and everything!). It's a good thing Pluem was there (and we got that sweet scene 🥰)

Honestly, except for scenes the episode trailers have included, I'm not in the least bit sure what'll happen. But I gave it a stab anyway.

So Leon keeps chasing Pob, which includes giving the cat collar.

Which leads to the 2nd Leo question.

Then Pob approaches Leo directly.

I'm not certain if Leo will speak to Pob before or after Fiat asks about Pob. The reason he goes with "friend of a senior" could be entirely because bringing Leon into a conversation with Fiat isn't exactly Fiat's favourite thing. Plus, "oh the guy Leon has a crush on" could be considered spilling secrets and handing Fiat ammunition (Leo doesn't know Leon's already told Fiat). Dealing with spoiled brats competing for your attention is hard work 😩

But I went with before because... well it works I guess? Possibly just because I've gotten used to thinking of it in that order.

But Fiat gets right on the "plan"... I guess Leon helped him fight past his remaining shyness at least? 😅

He only asks about Pob after they've showered.

Pob updates his cat about how Leon's making him feel.

Fiat tries to upkeep the house. Since there's no maid and he's trying to be a good boyfriend.

Leo finds him struggling with dishes and we get a cute scene.

Then Fiat finds Leo in an apron, since of course Leo doesn't want Fiat to do all the work. And we get another cute scene.

I included an implication of Fiat jumping Leo in school as a continuation of the "plan".

Not sure if the rose if from Leo or for Leo; if they arranged a court date and Leo didn't show or something? At any rate, I think Fiat was waiting for Leo to show when Leon came.

My first feeling is that Fiat would go forward, not run away, when Pob & Leo are "caught". But possibly he'd go forward, have his say, then storm off, ignoring Leo?

Including the Leon & Leo bed scene here is partly because I can't think of a better time to have it. It can lead to Leon explaining... something to Leo, which can lead to LeoFiat resolution, a move intended to earn forgiveness for Leon from viewers?

That resolution includes/leads to a court date to make up for the messy one.

Meanwhile LeonPob go on a kind of date.

And we end on a cute scene just because. 🤷‍♀️

(Of course, it's quite possible the ep will end with the "caught" scene - just like ep 4 ended with the library scene that had been included in the ep trailer.)

I know I said I'd keep putting the girl into the next ep, but I've changed my mind. I think she'll get an ep to herself eventually.

Do you think BigHit pays attention to how much things to show to be able to "please" each ship, esp the maknae ships? For example, If a run ep/any content showed a little bit more of vmin, it will somehow highlight jikook or taekook next. For sure, the boys are not faking their interactions, but do u think BigHit consciously monitor these interactions and edit it in a way that can avoid violent reactions from diff ship groups? Sorry I cannot word this ask well. 😕 I'd love to hear ur thoughts.

I think the first major thing we need to remember is that BH is a company, and a company’s main purpose, above all else, is to generate revenue. Which isn’t a bad thing in this case seeing as, depending on how much BH makes, so do the members since their contracts, compared to others in the same industry, have some great percentages in their favor.

With that in mind, the answer to your question is a very simple and straight forward yes. BH monitors and plans things accordingly to please (paying) costumers, in the context of this answer, shippers. Fan service and showing certain interactions in certain ways are a great marketing tool that every idol agency uses for decades now, it isn’t anything new or revolutionary in any shape or form, though it’s clear that the type of fan service the BTS members do nowadays has changed in comparison to earlier years, like Jimin being required to perform shirtless at an award show.

In the context of this answer when using “ship”, I simply mean two members interacting with each other and are liked together by a certain community of people, and not actual pairs that have (in my opinion) chances or signs of being real (in a romantic sense) at all, except for vmin and namjin, since those are the only two we see as fulfilling that criteria of romantic potential and are the only two we focus on on this account. But that at large is a post/discussion for another time.

When it comes to showing different interactions between ships, or even really any kind of duo or trio in the group, editing and what does and doesn’t get shown certainly plays a role and follows some kind of idea as well. A good example of that would be how following the release of Dynamite there was a bigger “focus” on J*k*ok, seeing as they had their own moment together in the choreography and we were shown more of their interactions/”moments” in content around that time. But, while that satisfied one major ship and its devotees, it didn’t satisfy another, so it needed to be balanced out. Which is exactly what BH did.

More below the cut since this got a little long:

If you look at the Break the Silence: Persona movie commentary done by the members, the maknaes sit together in the middle of the sofa (and the screen) with JK between vmin, meaning that both major ships could pay attention to their two members and be “pleased” at the same time by any and all interactions or “moments”. A counter argument to moments involving all three of them working in a positive manner would be the Dynamite performance at Jimmy Fallon (x) that ended with the members skating around on roller-skates where at one point the maknaes were together, JK holding Tae’s wrist while Jimin had his hands on Tae’s hips (?). It was a cute and funny moment of them just helping Tae since he can’t skate, but it caused a plethora of negative/awful reactions among those who ship one and the other “main” maknae ship with, in both cases, either Jimin or Tae being on the receiving end of awful accusations, insults, and alike. Then again, to balance out J*k*ok Dynamite content, we can look at the BE-hind Story video where JK and Tae sat together and were seen interacting more, while Jimin interacted more with Yoongi, where Yo*nm*n is also a rather popular ship.

Perhaps it sounds mean or calculated or like I’m badmouthing other ships as just “tools”, but the thing we have to keep in mind is that every piece of content is planned in a certain manner (BTS are seven people after all so you can’t just tell them to do something and hope it’ll just magically work out somehow), is filmed by a giant crew of staff from stylists to PDs and lighting crews, and while there are certainly also genuine interactions between the members, simply because they enjoy spending together and interacting, being close and have no issue touching each other etc, many of these things are not really anything that would really count as “intimate” moments due to the nature of the content itself. But shippers oftentimes ignore that in favor of enjoying whatever content of their ship they are given, which makes sense, as vminnies and namjinists we do too, but we also know that BH certainly has a hand in what is and isn’t shown, and the way in which it is shown.

Look at the trailer for Memories of 2019 and the famous J*k*ok moment that was front and center. From a marketing standpoint it was a genius move since it made sure that shippers would go and buy the DVD regardless of its price. Look at what we’ve gotten for Winter Package 2021 so far, J*k*ok being playful in the trailer, T*ek*ok squished together in the picture on IG, and J*k*ok next to each other, along with Seokjin, in the preview pictures on Weverse. Of course, there was also a picture of Yoongi and Hoseok together (a popular ship) as well as Namjoon with Yoongi and Namjoon with Tae (far less popular), but those three aren’t really selling arguments the way the major maknae ships are. Even vmin isn’t, seeing as the vmin community is much, much smaller than the other two maknae ships, and also vmin moments are often times written off as ‘friends’ interacting anyway and thus not taken seriously (or being paid attention to), if you know what I mean.

(Admin 1: I, for one, would really love to own the 5th Muster DVD because I love the concert itself but also because the famous vmin dancing together to Spring Day sequence is immortalized in picture form in the photobook, so I’m not innocent or “different” in any way since I fall for this marketing stuff just as much as everyone else.)

But on the other hand, there’s also content that isn’t as controlled by BH as pre-recorded and edited videos or DVD’s, as in their vlives or live content, like the BE/LGO release day vlive in pajamas where, sure, the members were given a general plan of what they’ll be doing and a timeframe for it, but certain things seemed more spur-of-the-moment and unplanned, like the vmin lipstick moment (Tae putting on the lipstick was planned, but the final executions likely wasn’t) and the way the other members reacted to it. Or things they do at concerts, which some of it is surely also rehearsed and planned, we saw Hoseok ask JK if he’d do a heart with him at some point during one of the concerts, as example, or Tae and Seokjin planning their typical moment that happened at every concert, but other ones are more in the moment and not controlled.

When it comes to concert DVDs, that is again a different story seeing as a camera can only show as much at a time, so the editors are presented all the footage from the concert and then decide which to show and which not. So, if we see an interaction between JK and Hoseok, for example, at the same time somewhere else Namjoon might be dancing with Seokjin or vmin could be doing something, but we’d simply never know since they can’t show us everything.

That, in a way, is also the case with actual concerts where there’s a difference, somewhat, between concerts that get filmed for DVDs or streamed online, and those that are not. Something that comes to mind would be a vmin moment during Best of Me in Busan on the day that didn’t get filmed where they skipped the first half of the choreography and vmin stood together, half of that sequence being just visible in the background while JK is the primary focus of the cameras that are shown on the side screens, and this whole thing only happened this one time and never again. (x) That’s a moment that, in my opinion, isn’t planned, or other similar moments where vmin change the choreographies (even if just a little) to do something together, like during Spring Day during WINGS Tour Final where Jimin adjusted his solo moment so that he ended up in front of Tae. (x)

There’s also this whole mythos I’ve heard/read about a lot about how supposedly at some of the not filmed Japanese concerts (where I’m not sure if people mean LY:SY or just LY) had some crazy moments between the members (in the sense of “ship” moments and alike) BUT I couldn’t find any proof of that, so if someone perhaps knows anything about this, let me know.

Finally, there’s also things like Bon Voyage and In the SOOP which, you’d expect that they would be less edited and less controlled, but even here a selection takes place of which scenes are shown and which are not. Something I find interesting is how the first half of In the SOOP feels very different to how the second half does when they return to the house after being gone for a few days. In the first half vmin (as well as namjin) seemed to “satellite” around each other and interact much more, playing ping pong or doing things together in some shape or form, but in the second half that was (nearly) completely gone and neither interacted much with each other, if at all. We even had Jimin who outright refused to join Tae and Hoseok on their car adventure, or we saw Seokjin wake up Namjoon to go jogging yet never got to see said jogging happening (if it did happen, that is).

So, to sum all of this up: Yes, BH definitely monitors and guides the way certain things are and aren’t shown in order to achieve certain things or avoid certain reactions, though it’s a complex balancing act and doesn’t always work out. There are things that are unplanned and not controlled, of course, but there’s also a fair amount of marketing play involved. 

After all BTS aren’t rookies anymore, instead they are giant household names and their actions and words move people, move money, and on top of that they are still idols, and part of what it means to be an idol is differentiating between your idol appearance/persona (so what we see in screen) and your personal private life, which is usually kept as secret as only possible. How much they themselves choose to share of their real selves and real feelings toward each other is up to them (as well as up to BH and how much they “allow” them to/don’t edit out). But that, too, is a whole other discussion for another time.

I sent a very similar ask to bird-inacage, so sorry if you see this twice. But I have been looking for someone to flail at this about and I thought of you both because I like your SandRay takes! I was thinking about the two clips from next week's preview and also the fight in Sand's apartment from the trailer and I have a theory for how I would like it to go down. What I am hoping will happen (but I am doubtful because when has this show ever given Ray and Sand the least painful option?) is: After Sand shuts down Ray's friendship request after he and Mew enter their boyfriend era, and then Ray has his little jealous fit at the party, Ray goes to Sand's place to try to talk him into maintaining their current dynamic with the intention of keeping Sand on the hook, because the way Sand treats him makes him feel good. Maybe he even whips out that "If you're my friend you must take care of me in every way" line again? Sand finally draws a line with the "Do you think I have no dignity?" line from the OST and lays out that he wants a boyfriend or nothing. Which leads to Ray having another jealousy/entitlement-fuelled meltdown and hitting back that he doesn't want to be Sand's boyfriend and his life is going down the toilet since he met Sand anyway and honestly probably calls him a whore again because he is currently committed to being The Worst. Anyway, as painful as that would be, I hope it happens before Mew inevitably drops him, because it would give us a) Sand having a backbone, which I have missed and b) a nice ironic foundation for when Sand's ex eventually shows up and Ray gets to have a full-bore jealous meltdown over it and hopefully actually take a good hard look at his feelings and choices for once.

As far as your theory goes: yes, I definitely think the SandRay apartment fight will be easier to move past the sooner it happens. I'm kind of at odds with myself, because while I find Ray's possessiveness of Sand very toxic, it also makes for a lot of juicy drama AND the potential for him to finally come to terms with why he feels so possessive at all. At the same time, I desperately need Sand to put his foot down like you said. It seems like Sand has been fighting for Ray this entire time, but I want Ray to fight for Sand.

What this all boils down to is whether or not Ray sees Sand as more than a distraction. I'd argue that he does, based on all of the development we have seen between the two of them thus far that goes beyond Sand's caretaking behavior. There's a foundation there, and I think that's easy to overlook with this whole RayMew cloud hanging over us. In other words: it's easy to believe Ray doesn't care about Sand now that he has Mew, but beneath all of his arrogance and selfishness, I think Ray does care. And I'm gonna go with that until I'm proven wrong, for my own sanity, haha.

Your theory makes me wonder where the last bathtub scene fits in?:

Because they appear to be in an okay-place here, holding hands and all, so I wonder if we'll see that before the big apartment fight? Hopefully it comes after. And the 'I won't let you walk away' scene at the school...I go back and forth between thinking that scene comes before the apartment fight or after.

All in all, I really like that theory and think we could see a sequence of events that follows that pretty closely, though knowing the writers they will give us maximum heartbreak. We are not safe from part 4/4--everything bad seems to go down there. Ray will likely run after Sand next ep as soon as he thinks his hold on Sand is slipping, but that'll only lead to more arguments between them. It's the perfect opportunity to Sand to stand up for himself like he did in Ep4.

Finally, what's the deal with Ray calling Sand a whore anyway? I understand it's a dirty insult, but it's ironic coming from him, who offered to pay Sand to sleep with him (which he very clearly refused) and has been the one instigating their sexual relationship ever since. But maybe that's the point.

What’s your guess on the timeline based on the preview? 🧐 I also put on my detective glasses lmao and watched the previews again. Oh-aew is wearing the same shirt when he leans in to bass as when him and teh have the roses. So maybe that could be in next ep or the one after that. Do you know what was said in the preview after ep 2? I’ve been looking everywhere. Thanks for reading!

hi anon! ok after analysing both ep 3 previews and watching the trailer for the 10th time, my guess is it’ll start with of course them going on the trip and oh-aew trying to make a move on bas with support from teh. at the same time teh will kind of start realising he might be feeling jealous and oh-aew, as attuned as he is to teh, will also start sensing it. i think they'll have a heart to heart at the hammock which is also where we get the rose scene then i think at some point oh-aew probably tries to kiss bas but then maybe comes to his own realisation about his feelings for teh and then maybe the phone call scene comes after?

and then the later half of the ep would already be them kinda “together” or at least on the same page about how they feel - which would be all the scenes with oh-aew in the red hawaiian shirt and teh in the moon tee. so we’ll get the beach scene and the one with oh-aew reaching out to touch teh. and i think they might end the ep with the scene in the official trailer where oh-aew sings to teh and teh talks about their destiny and not giving up this time bc i feel like that would be set up for when shit hits the fan in ep 4

as for the preview that played at the end of ep 2, after digging around i managed to find a version with chi subs so here’s my terrible translation to eng:

“i don’t even know if bas likes me or not”

couldn’t really catch the last line but i think it’s teh teasing him about sleeping/rooming with bas

Predictions for the next ep? Before I get into this , apparently they’re doing the Friday episode thing for the last few eps idk why lol if they were scared of spoilers or losing money, why start this again now when the season is almost over. Anyway back to my question- some people think that V will kill that lady in the preview with her wearing that really cute blue suit. Maybe that’s why dasha says wtf have u done. Eve goes bowling with dasha because we’ve seen those spoiler photos

I saw that about the Friday ep thing. But apparently it was a mistake. @fleabaged was a legend and chased it up (I just reblogged it if you want the full details). Things should be the same as they had been as viewing goes. Where I live I can’t even pay to sign up for that so I’m glad I don’t have to avoid the spoilers for two days.

 As for predictions. Nothing concrete. V looks manic and more unpredictable than normal next ep and a lot of the trailers have run out so we only have promos. Which I find very exciting.

It looks like V is still in Russia and she spends it hanging with Konstantin and Irina. Looks like the car scene is with Irina. I love them so I’m excited for that. I’d give my left arm for a scene of V and Irina talking about having shitty parents and Irina points out how much Konstantin cares for V. Even putting Villanelle ahead of Irina a lot of the time. Found family tropes just get me dude.

I could see V killing that sexy hot French lady at some point but probably not this ep and probably not in that scene. She’s just given V what she thinks she wants: to be a keeper. I don’t think that’s gonna last long though, V will mess it up or realise she’s not interested in being controlled. The lady might even ask V to do something she can’t/won’t like kill Konstantin or Eve as proof of her loyalty.

As for Dasha’s line, V could be doing anything. It looks like Dasha has just arrived in Russia tho - which makes sense if V just got made Keeper, Dasha would have done her job - maybe from the bowling thing with Eve. Or maybe Villanelle has just straight up killed her new boss would not be the first time. It does look like the scene is in a fancy hotel room🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Eve’s side of thing I can’t tell much about looks like she figures out the chalk kill and links it to Dasha and hopefully the Niko kill. Eve might be pursuing her because she knows she V’s new handler and she thinks V killed Niko but I hope she takes that next step and realises that's not the case. It’s hard to imagine Dasha and Eve just bowling together and one not attacking the other but I’m sure it will be good to watch. They didn’t really give much of Eve’s stuff away in the promos so maybe it’s spoilery.

Okay first thing I noticed was Teresa wears this outfit in quite a few significant scenes:

She’s wearing it when she tells Tony this life is dangerous, when she tells Pote who she needs to be scares her (from old trailer), her hookup with Eddie and the scene shown above about “sending a message”.  Putting this all together my speculation is that Teresa’s war with Marcel escalates to some pretty scary places and the decisions Teresa finds herself making might preview the Queenpin to come.  I feel like Teresa might search out Eddie afterwards to try to escape the feeling of what she had to do--hence hookup.

Next--Javier in jail (?!?!?!):

Is it a ruse? A mission? Or is Javier facing the consequences of oh, I dunno--NOT TELLING TERESA HE KILLED RENE AND THAT HIS CORPSE IS CURRENTLY BEING TOWED TO POSSIBLY A CITY OWNED (READ: IN JUDGE’S POCKET) TOW YARD? Sorry, just watched the sneak peek for 4x05 and um, have some thoughts to share with Javi.  BTS set pics tell us this is probably 4x08.

As for James...

Well, as I see it, after this latest trailer, here’s how the next few episodes are shaking out:

Teresa attempts to make a deal with El Gordo and Oksana (4x05) which might be complicated by El Gordo getting raided by DEA; Marcel and Teresa’s war escalates (4x05-4x06) with bloody consequences; Javier goes to jail (4x08); Teresa runs for her life at abandoned Six Flags (probably 4x10 per BTS pics).

What’s missing from that list? 4x07!  And I know, I know.  I agree the sicario is most likely the same one from 4x02 resurfacing to make Teresa’s life hell but that doesn’t mean that James won’t show up too?

As for other possibilities...Jorge Reyes, renown writer of Jeresa classic eps, wrote 4x06 and 4x10 this season so put a James pin in those episodes perhaps?  

And of course: 4x11 (entitled While You Were Sleeping).  If it’s anything like the movie of the same name (and BTS pics do tell us it was filmed in a hospital) then what if Teresa is in a coma? Seems like perfect timing for our annual Teresa/James hallucination if you ask me.  

What do you guys think?  To be fair the only guesses I’ve gotten right lately were jokes so who knows if any of this will be true but can’t wait to find out!
