Poor Baxter

“Niff how fucking many bags of candy corn do you need? Poor Baxter can barely push the cart!” Husk huffed while absentmindedly rubbing the spot on his arm where Alastor’s mic had struck him for attempting to get out of driving Niffty on her seasonal sugar shopping spree.

Charlie should have picked anyone else to pick up the snacks and decorations for the holiday party. Niffty was going to really remind everyone that they are in hell at this rate.

“All of them!” Niffty said pulling another bag of the multicolored junk out of an unsuspecting hellhound’s basket and tossing it into her cart.

Baxter’s sinister little laugh forced its way into Husk’s ears leading to the former overlord wishing he could punt the tiny man. Husk was way too sober to be in Hellmart at six in the morning.

Baxter’s voice almost made Husk’s brain implode as he encouraged this bullshit, “Niffty, I think I saw some imps back in the freezer aisle, they must have had at least a dozen bags of candied corn, perhaps we could claim their share as well?”

Niffty looked like she had skipped Halloween and Thanksgiving and went straight to Christmas as she bolted out of Husk’s view dragging the cart behind her.

“Baxter! You fucking lost her now!” Husk hissed as he attempted to follow her.

“Nonsense Husk. She is in aisle 2 looking for imps that don’t exist.” Baxter said calmly, looking at his phone while walking opposite of Niffty.

Husk switched directions and followed the other short monster, “What? Why would you lie about that?”

“I needed to ask your advice on something,” Baxter said stopping in front of some big box of overpriced seasonal kid’s toy animals, “Do you think Niffty would prefer the stuffed spider or the stuffed scorpion?”

“Excuse me?” Husk asked, suddenly wishing he was more sober because he had to have caught a secondhand high when he hugged Angel goodbye as they left.

“The woman displays the most familial behavior to you and that radio demon. Since I do not plan to have my voice added to his broadcast, I require your assistance.” Baxter explained.

“Why the hell do you need my opinion? You just sent Niffty off to aisle 2 tracking down imaginary imps! You could’ve asked her yourself!”

Baxter rolled his eyes, “That would ruin the point of the surprise you dunce.”

“And you are trying to surprise her with children’s toys?” Husk asked, the annoyance flowing from his voice in contrast to its usual drip.

The fishy little man was definitely showing his form as he looked down checking the seams on the spider. "I wanted to ask her to accompany me during Charlie’s party. She doesn't seem like the kind to like flowers. I have observed her with bugs and other creepy crawlies however and she seems fixated on them."

Husk stopped and judged the pathetic scientist. Poor dude was going to get himself stabbed.

"The scorpion."

"You are sure Husk?” Baxter suddenly seemed hesitant to accept the help he was pleading for, “I wish they just had a roach. I know she likes those." Baxter said sorting through the bin.

"Women like her, like venom. And ya know scorpions got that stinger thing. Little shits like to stab people. Just like Niffty." Husk paused after his warning, "Trust me."

He was back to feeling too sober. Advising an adult about what teddy bug to buy for another adult added to the headache sobriety was bringing on.

Baxter quickly shoved the scorpion into his pocket as Niffty came back, the cart now full of candy corn décor as well as her 40 pounds of actual candy corn. Husk was going to have to take charge and grab the actual stuff from Charlie’s list.

Husk’s arms were on the verge of falling off by the time all the candy, drinks, food, and décor were inside the hotel. He grabbed a bottle of cheap booze that he was horrified to learn was pumpkin spice flavored after he already committed to a chair in the living room.

"Hey, Whiskers!" Angel Dusk said strolling in and perching himself on the arm of the chair Husk was already melting into. “How was your trip to the store?”

Husk chuckled a little. Sore and annoyed but still laughing at the fishy idiot. “Baxter has a crush on Niffty. He has no idea what he’s getting himself into.”

“I know that already,” Angel said, fidgeting with the bag Husk had failed to see in his hands before now. “He told me a couple of weeks ago.” He gave a nervous laugh.

“What is it Legs?”

“I’ve been trying to help out as his wingman and he keeps trying to ask her out and,” the sinner was shaking his head, “she just doesn’t hear him.”

“Yeah she tends to ignore people a lot-”

“No whiskers I mean, he keeps trying the dumbest things to get her attention, and she just doesn’t get it. He tried inviting her on a walk the other day and she responded that she was already walking and just went ‘see?’ and walked out of the room.”

“Today he bought her a stuffed animal to use as a bribe for her to be his date to the hotel’s Halloween party.” Husk took his turn to shake his head at Baxter. “Like I don’t even know how a normal person would react to that, let alone Niffty.”

“Yeah... that might not go well.” The bag Angel had been fidgeting with ripped and the contents fell on Husk’s lap. Angel attempted to recover the item but Husk was faster.

He looked at the stuffed orange cat wearing a little white ghost costume. Its little ears and nose poked out from underneath. And the belly of it had a little pun that read,

‘You look BOO-tiful today!’ in black factory print with ‘Husk’ written underneath in red marker.

“Hey Husk listen it was stupid, I just saw it when I was out with Cherri and thought ‘Hey! Husk is a cat, well kind-’” The rumble of purrs drowned out the end of his rambles.

Husk was certain of two things.

1. Baxter was going to get the Jack-o-lantern treatment from Niffty.

2. If Angel asked him to be his date to the Halloween party he would be the happiest sinner in hell.

spoilers for gerudo desert

-i got a redead. i'm unstoppable.

-how do i get this woman a tumble weed. what do i do.

-at the rift, found unconcious gerudo, knocked out some monsters, she wakes up

-oh so THIS is dohna. she's cute.

-ok so i go back to the town and can go in the main building of the palace but not the room on the second floor?? wow.

-fanta or whatever her name is is a real buzzkill. i think she and the queen are rift guys

-wait, dohna, you're betting your honor on me??? am i about to watch an agni kai??? damn no wonder everyone ships her with zelda

-oh the queen went along with it it must just be fanta orange over here who's an impostor

-bro who tf told you killing monsters would make the rifts smaller??

-at the ancestor ruins. tried to long-distance echo over the rift. could not. sad.

-oh shit 'say thank you to my descendant'???? you're a ghost????

-sadly this rift is too small for me to jump inside.

-ok i was wandering and i found this boss?? or super strong enemy or something?? it just appeared and the ground became quicksand and how do i hurt it???

-she's dying of dehydration!!! quick, go to starbucks and get her a pumpkin spice latte!!!

-i actually didn't know you could do two of the same ingredient so that's cool.

-i love how much dohna trusts us.

-i saw fanta in the rift and i'm like huh she must not be an imposter. the rift must have expanded while we were still in it and it captured her. and then i realized that didn't make sense. fanta was always here.

-i had to look up a guide for this rift because i couldn't find the fifth clump of tris.

-the chief stabs fanta to reveal the it was sunkist orange the whole time. who knew. the chief sure didn't, she was like 'oh nice i was right' after she had already stabbed her advisor.

-went to the little mini-temple to pull the plug.

-awww, no massive free-for-all??? i was so excited

Note: Takes place after book 5. So far, Dewdrop met the DoD when she was a spy in the Sky Kingdom. She didn’t really interfere with the DoD, just followed and helped where she could. Her main contribution was following Sunny after she’d been kidnapped and chose to fly to the Scorpion Den/followed her through the events of book 5. when they met Stonemover, Dewdrop said a few words to help convince to get off his depressed ass. while he and Thorn don’t get back together, they have an okay relationship and Stonie teaches/helps out at JMA. I headcanon Sunny as an ace lesbian that goes by she/they pronouns, so I’m experimenting here with it. I do apologise for how broken and janky these two pieces are, but these are more for myself. (also hozier is a mud-sky hybrid in this someone may hate me for that)

Sunny had never been to such a celebration.

The castle was alive with dragons and chatter and dozens, if not hundreds, of carved pumpkins. She looked around at all the faces. Compared to the battle of the Eye of Onyx, this was a relatively small meet up. But it was hardly small for what Sunny knew.

This was so incredibly different to how they’d spent most of their life; dreary grey walls, damp stone… Kestrel. It was the complete opposite. It was so warm and cheery, and her mother was right at the heart of it.

Sunny could see her in the centre of the foyer, chatting with a group of councillors, leaders of SandWing towns all throughout the desert. Each one was adorned with various trinkets and faces shaded with coloured veils. It looked so wonderful! It made her wings flutter with excitement.

In the air hung the warm and stinging scents of spices mixed with the fruitiness of the drinks and candles in the pumpkins. Sunny had never smelled so much, and it was wonderful.

It was all so overwhelming. The sights and smells took over the entire castle, even up on the balcony overlooking the full foyer. There was more breathing room up there, with some chatting dragons sipping dragonfruit punch. Unlike the ones below, they were scarred and sharp-eyed, watching the queen and her more mannered guests. Six-Claws had said they were Outclaws, welcomed with open wings to the castle and, of course, the party.

Sunny’s gaze was locked on the open dining room though, the most focused it had been all night. She was starving, and a few dragons seemed to be lingering in there now. She fiddled with the emerald dangling from her gold necklace. This might be their only chance to eat before the next phase of the party. Her mother had invited performers, a travelling circus that was known for recruiting in the Scorpion Den and moving from the most northern corner of the Sky Kingdom to the Kingdom of the Sea’s islands. Thorn was so excited about their visit, recalling so many memories from the tricks and flips the RainWings performed, the fire-play of the Firescales, and the swift ice-sculpting of the IceWings. And now they had a recruit, a singer gaining quite a bit of popularity.

Sunny has seen many things while flying over Pyrrhia, and this circus seemed to be highly anticipated by even the most senior of Outclaws. Whatever it was about these performers, they were beloved.

And the crowd would be big. The stage would be in the foyer, the centre of the party. Everyone would be watching, from the balcony and staircase to the windows overlooking from the library.

And of course, the dining room would be full to the brim, the nearest room to the performance.

“It’s quite the party, isn’t it?” It was a sweet voice, but careful with her wording. How long had it been since Sunny had heard it?

A smile possessed her before she could even think. “Dewdrop! What brings you here?” She found herself hugging her, and Dewdrop’s webbed talons gently patted her back.

“Oh, I’m here on business. Did Th—Queen Thorn not tell you?”

It was a quick hug, and Sunny took the opportunity to look her over. Dewdrop had dressed herself in deep purple scales with marigold SeaWing markings and wings, so different to what Sunny had seen her in before. Usually, she matched the dragons and environment around her. This was bold, like her quick comments and confidence.

Sunny took a moment to hear what she said. “No?” but they panicked. Had Mother mentioned anything about outside help?

Dewdrop gave her a reassuring look. “You’ve been busy with Jade Mountain, of course. Thorn asked me to come and help sort out any of Oasis’s messages and plots that were left around, and with the letter-room. trying to sort those letters out has been a pain!” she sighed but smiled. “It’s paying well, so I can pay my own help well.”

“Help?” Sunny questioned.

Dewdrop nodded and started to walk down the stairs. Sunny couldn’t leave the conversation now. “Some former Talons of Peace. Nautilus left them high and dry.” She slipped in between a group of chatting dragons, leading Sunny into the bustling foyer. “Most split and went home, either apologised to their queens, snuck back into society or just settled in places like Possibility. A few are so used to the spying and keeping tabs on the world that they want to keep it up.” They walked toward the dining hall, Sunny walking beside Dewdrop as she spread her wings to nudge dragons aside and guide a clear path through. Even when not knowing or seeing her, they obeyed. “And I know no different, so I figured we’d stick together. Got some MudWings, a SandWing, SeaWing, IceWing, oh, and one of those NightWing brothers we met.” As she talked, she gestured a wing to each: a gathering of MudWings by the entrance; a beige SandWing with a black zig-zag pattern, sail and neckerchief in the corner, shuffling a deck of cards; a near-white SeaWing lingered by the punchbowl, an octopus on her shoulder, and a lilac IceWing stood beside her. The NightWing Sunny couldn’t see, but Dewdrop gestured to the balcony.

“Some are part of the show tonight, and we might be gaining a couple of recruits in a few days. They’re on the branch about things.” She extended a talon to grab a fruit kabab and bit off the strawberry at the top. “You should try one.”

Sunny looked at the bowl. It was the most colourful spread she’d ever seen. Strawberry, three types of melon, kiwi and dragonfruit were held together on a skewer. It looked so fresh. They smiled and grabbed on.

Dewdrop offered them a plate, which Sunny gratefully took. “You sound like you’re doing well.”

Dewdrop swayed her head either side in a not really way. “There have been better operations. We’re happy, I suppose. The NightWing gets things done fast. Fennec has always been reliable.” She bit off some cantaloupe. “How’s Jade Mountain Academy coming along?”

Sunny hummed. “Steady. Father is helping with the caves and making the tunnels more homely. I think he’s enjoying it.”

Dewdrop led them over to a couple of spare seats in the corner. The burgundy velvet went well with the themes of orange and black throughout. “That’s good. I’m glad we got Stonie out of that cave. Make himself useful for a cause he believes in.” She wrapped her long, thin tail around herself. Finally getting a good looked at it, Sunny noticed it was shorter than the average RainWing, and thicker too. But she’d seen Dewdrop swing and glide between trees in the rainforest. The length clearly didn’t limit her.

“What about the students? Have the queens accepted the idea?” Dewdrop’s gaze scanned the room, cold blue eyes watching every dragon, every entrance, and every shadow. She’d done that since they’d met in Scarlet’s Palace and, Sunny presumed, since she had hatched.

Sunny nodded, turning the skewer in their talon. “So far, Mother, Queen Ruby, Queen Moorhen and Glory—of course—have accepted. Queen Coral is very on the dunes about it—” she really liked that phrase, “—and Queen Glacier hasn’t come back yet. I think there’s some hunting season right now.”

Dewdrop’s gaze was anchored on her again. Not in an uncomfortable way, just a listening way. “I take it Anemone wishes to go?”

Sunny nodded again. “Of course. The Princess is eager to get a look on the world now that the war is over, and she has Tsunami of course. And Princess Auklet is okay, and the statue taken care of.”

She had a cube of watermelon this time. “A hard choice to make for her, then. Her daughters are just safe. Is she willing to trust one in someone else’s care? Tsunami will have to put everything into convincing her.”

Sunny absentmindedly mimicked her. “You talk like you’ve heard all our meetings and read all the messages.”

A smirk rose to Dewdrops face. “Maybe I have.” She raised a wing in a shrug.

“You wouldn’t spy on a queen!” Sunny hushed her voice, but Dewdrop’s grin reminded her of who she was talking to.

“I always have. I gave Scarlet anxiety, I’m pretty sure. Even popped in to see Ruby last week. She’s doing very well for herself, despite not fixing the broken sky-door.”

Sunny tried not to pull a face. “You really do know everything.”

Dewdrop hummed. “Not really. Just about every dragon worth knowing. Can’t say I know everything, though. So many mysteries fill Pyrrhia.”

“Such as?”

Dewdrop swayed her head again. “Like if you’ll join me for a dance, Princess Sunny?” she offered a slim webbed talon to Sunny.

Sunny found themself frozen, face heating up. She knew if she was a RainWing she’d be completely pink, like Jambu. They looked away, flustered, heart picking up a pace. She put down the plate, talons feeling ready to fail. Did she just ask that? This cool, elite, expert spy just ask her for a dance?

Dewdrop slowly lowered her talon, but Sunny placed hers in Dewdrop’s before it got too far. “I’d love to.” They smiled, cheeks burning and scales tingling in excitement.

Yellow splashes rose to Dewdrop’s cheek, forehead and jaw. “Great.” As her talon wrapped around Sunny’s, the highly anticipated singer appeared on stage. A MudWing-SkyWing hybrid rose to the stage, brown scales shining in the warm light as the band behind him started a thumping, steady rhythm.

Dewdrop brought Sunny to an open spot by the stage as the crowd stilled and watched the stage come to life.

“I would shun the light…”

Sunny, despite their notability among the dragons of Pyrrhia, had never actually had such eyes on them before, even having held the Eye of Onyx and given it to their mother. She had never been in such an enclosed space, watched by so many.

She looked at Dewdrop, whose gaze was set on her with softness as she moved around the dance floor with her, the singer accompanying them as the performers danced beside them. It was all so mesmerizing. The lights, Dewdrop’s gaze and dance, the music, the faces watching them, the dancers on stage… Dewdrop.

Sunny’s heart thumped faster. They hadn’t even noticed that they were dancing with Dewdrop, faces close, talons dodging each other.

Dewdrop’s scales changed in waves of pink and yellow with the music. “You’re quite the dancer, Princess Sunny.” She smiled, blue eyes catching the pink light.

Sunny copied Dewdrop as she curved her body in a loose spiral, faces at the centre and bodies curved out. “Oh, stop with that!” they giggled softly in embarrassment. “You’ve known me since before I was a princess! Sunny is fine. Perfect actually.”

A smirk formed on Dewdrop’s face. “What about Sunlight?”

The word echoed behind her, the singer repeating it twice in a sweet harmony.

Sunny nodded after a moment. “Sure.”

“And Sunflower?”

“It’s pretty.”

“Sunshine?”

That one took Sunny by surprise. That clearly held more value than the song name and sunflower. Sunshine was vital to a RainWing’s life. “I-If you like?” they stammered.

Dewdrop's face was unreadable as a light came from behind her, hiding her expression. “I think it suits you,” she said after a moment.

The weather at Jade Mountain was always breezy. Rain, hail or shine, there was a wind to accompany it.

Sunny liked it, especially because of the bamboo wind chimes. Dewdrop had brought them as an “office-warming” gift a few weeks prior. The hollow thudding was comforting throughout the day, as she worked and planned and ate. Even Clay and Stonemover had complimented them when they came to talk to her.

She hoped Dewdrop knew how much they liked them.

Sunny would often spend her evening watching them, listing to their song as she put seeds out for the birds—another thing Dewdrop had given her. They weren’t a sloth or Scavenger, but they were nice. Maybe one day they’d be comfortable in her presence.

“Is the view nice, Sunshine?”

Sunny lifted their head, seeing Dewdrop by the entrance of her office, holding a steaming terracotta cup. She couldn’t help but smile. “Dewie!”

She had taken on a more permanent colour since they’d started talking at the party. Dewdrop had adopted a pink body and orange back and shoulder scales. The belly was a pale pink and her ruff and fins a pastel orange. Her SeaWing markings were never the same. Some days they were blue like her father’s, other days were white. This time, she was trying an orange to match her scales. When they’d first met, Dewdrop seemed to be a SkyWing, her frill and fins carefully hidden and pinned down, or she blended in with the forest, looking like a gathering of leaves.

Sunny liked it.

Dewdrop stepped closer using her wings as front talons, moving her gaze to the window. “You have some friends. The SkyWings will be jealous, you’re outdoing their bird care.”

Sunny laughed; eyes fixed on Dewdrop. “Oh hardly. I’m just an amateur.”

Dewdrop settled beside her and offered Sunny the warm terracotta cup. As soon as it was cradled in her talons, Sunny was wrapped in the scent of cinnamon. It reminded them of their mother. “How’d I do?”

Sunny smiled. “Excellent. You’ve perfected the recipe.” She took a first sip, the milk warming her soul and scales, the spice easing her thoughts. Her wings drooped and her neck eased.

She thought she saw yellow blotch on Dewdrop’s muzzle, but when she turned to face her, there was nothing. “How’s the academy coming along?”

Sunny sighed; their head leaned on Dewdrop’s neck. It was shorter than a typical RainWing’s but so strong. “Stressful. I’m worried about who we are inviting to the school. A last-minute request came in from a SandWing. No one knows anything about her, though.” She sipped her milk. “Tsunami is uninterested. She’s just delighted Anemone is coming. And Clay is fixed on everyone being comfortable.”

Dewdrop let them talk, and after a moment, she hummed. “Maybe I can find out about her. What has you so concerned?”

“She’s so…” Sunny tried to find the best—nicest word to explain, “old. She’s over twice my age. Close to Mother’s, actually. She’s really pushing too. I don’t want to refuse just because of age. Anemone is only two after all.” She lifted her head to look at Dewdrop, only now realising what she’d done. Heat rushed to her face. Where her head had rested was a yellow patch of scale that was now fading.

Dewdrop wavered her head. “I’ll look into it for you. Most of your students are younger than you. Why would she want to be here? I’ll find her. Tell me her name and anything you have on her.”

Sunny reached for their desk, giving their cup to Dewdrop and grabbing the list of names and a form from the drawer. “This is her. Her form even… lacks enthusiasm. Especially when compared to the others.” She gave the paper to Dewdrop, and she exchanged them for the cup.

Dewdrop read through everything. “Not a good actress,” she said after a few moments.

Sunny tilted their head, stepping closer. “You think she’s acting?”

She nodded, looking at Sunny. “Oh absolutely. She wants something. I’ll look in to her. No charge.”

Sunny sipped her milk, Dewdrop’s tail touching hers. “That’s good. I have nothing to offer.”

Dewdrop tilted her head. “Not even a date, Sunshine?”

Sunny faltered. “What kind?” Did she even have time for that? The school was nowhere near ready, and she was in charge of the papers!

She shrugged. “Picnic at the Winding Tail River? I’ll provide the food. Tomorrow at noon?”

Sunny barely considered it before nodding. “Only if you stay birdwatching with me.”

“We have a deal, Sunshine.” She wrapped a wing under Sunny’s to pull her close. Sunny leaned on her again, her own wing wrapping around Dewdrop, yellow spreading over her body with pink lingering on her chest.

Edit: This may have been a Selfship event story, but it is also a major part of the Sapphire Heartverse: Sugar Crash Void Bash canon!

Day 1: Share your very first romantic kiss

Well, it's already known how Vanilla and Tippy had their first kiss! (here!) But here's a short story on how Vanilla and Tippy had their first kiss with Bel!

It's a crisp, calm, delightful autumn evening. The three gentlemen are walking down the sidewalk, taking in the scenery, breathing in that nice fall air, watching the leaves twirl off the branches of trees, and… they're trying to find a way to break the silence! Bel glances up at Vanilla, who's in the middle of the other two. Xe locks eyes for a brief moment with the tall man and averts xis gaze to the trees beside xem. Vanilla, who has been the unfortunate victim of having to wear pants this season, puts his hands in his pockets and looks down at Tippy,

"It's quiet. Pretty peaceful out this evening, hm?"

"Oh yeah." Tippy smiles. Bel wants to chime in and say something. They're a little nervous because of everything that happened about a year ago… they used to be influenced by an evil gemstone…and yet these two not only wanted to be their friend but also take them out on a date. Tippy looks over at Bel, noticing xe's a little shy at the moment. He pipes up and smiles at Bel,

"So, what are you gonna get at the cafe, Bel? Are you more of a sweets kind of person or savory?"

"Me? Oh, huh… I mean, like, I do enjoy a nice treat here and there. But, like, I guess I could just go with anything, you know? I mean, I can be pretty picky, not going to lie about that," Bel chuckles and touches his own chest, gesturing to himself, "Okay, honestly, I am a more than just a little picky… but, I'm willing to try almost anything once honestly. Ahahahaha!" Vanilla tries to add to the conversation, but Bel continues, "Sometimes I even think about trying random foods from all around the world, like, I'll probably try to do a little country to country taste testing, you know? Maybe, like, get one thing from each country-" Bel puts their hand up, "WAIT. Maybe I could get one of the same thing from each country I go to. Or wait, maybe I should get something different-? I don't know, it's all so confusing, like-" Bel laughs and looks over at Vanilla and Tippy.

He instantly feels self conscious. Shit, I'm talking too much about myself again. Why do I keep doing this? Bel thinks to himself. He clears his throat,

"Uh hum…yeah…"

"I think that would be fun, heheh!" Tippy grins at xem. Vanilla nods,

"Hey, we're here." He opens the cafe door for the other two fellas.

"Thank you so much, Vans! Oh you're such a sweetie pie." Tippy touches Vanilla's arm as he walks inside. Bel checks xis nails as xe walks in, but catches xemself,

"O-oh! Thank you, Nilla. You always were the better servant boy." Bel attempts to make a little joke, but as that sentence came out of their mouth, they instantly felt like a jerk saying it, "Wait, I'm sorry, I didn't mean that in a bad way."

"You're fine." Vanilla tells them.

As the three get to their table next to the window, they all admire the autumn view. The leaves blow in the slight breeze. Tippy takes a sip of his pumpkin spiced hot chocolate, then squeaks.

"Sweetie, are you okay?" Vanilla looks concerned.

"Yeah, I just got my tongue burned!" Tippy says. "At least I can just lick the whipped cream until it cools off though, heheh."

"OMG, that reminds me of this one time back when I was working at that crusty old mansion, one of the guys that used to work there found a scorpion? And he like, grabbed it? I was like, 'what are you doing put that thing down right now' and he was like, 'watch this' and I was like 'okay' and he freaking… puts this creature in his mouth and it like, bites his tongue- well, it didn't bite his tongue, it stung it," Bel interjects. As xe continues xis story, Vanilla daintily puts a spoonful of sugary whipped cream covered in caramel and chocolate sauce in his mouth. The other two listen to Bel talk and tell stories. Not only about his time working at the mansion, but also about what happened while he was under the jewel's influence.

Bel suddenly realizes, after about 20 minutes of talking nonstop, that they didn't let either of the two say a single word. They feel self conscious once again and try to wrap up their story. They end up stumbling over their words and embarrassing themself. They sip their equally as sugary coffee and stare down at their drink.

Tippy's brows frown, understanding what Bel might be feeling right now. He just has a lot to say… maybe the reason he talks so much is because he just needs somebody to listen… Tippy thinks to himself. Vanilla isn't very talkative and he's introverted, where Bel is extroverted, and Tippy is ambiverted. Unbeknownst to Bel, Tippy has empathy for xem while Vanilla is happy to listen to other people talk. It's true that Bel has some problems involving selfishness, carelessness, and the need for popularity…but all of that stems from poor self esteem yet at the same time, his inflated self image.

Tippy reads them like a book,

"Bel?"

"Yuh huh?" Xe looks at Tippy curiously.

"You're not bothering us, you know. You can talk as much as you'd like." Tippy gives xem a gentle and knowing smile. Vanilla nods,

"It's true. I know back when we disliked each other, I would say pretty nasty things. We were both at each other's throats… I want you to know that I take it all back. I don't hate you anymore, and I genuinely enjoy your company, Beleza."

Bel looks back and forth between the two fellas. He smiles and politely nods his head, then takes a drink from his coffee. Tippy softly touches the back of their hand,

"We mean it. You fit right in with us, you know? You're always welcome at our house."

"He's right. We're misfits. Look at us, we were all outcasts and outsiders. We didn't work at Lord D- I mean, Dio's mansion for no reason. If you ask me, I would call that fate." Vanilla tells them, "Bel, it's true. Anyone who has ever worked at Dio's mansion is an outcast in some way or another. But we found security in each other. We found comfort and safety in one another. To hell with the ones who shunned us for who we are."

"Well said, Vans!" Tippy lightly claps, then he jokes at Bel, "You can tell he's a little passionate about this kind of stuff, haha!"

"I guess you guys are right… ugh, it just… I dunno." Bel sighs and looks at his coffee. Vanilla reaches for Bel's hand and caresses the back of it softly,

"You're always welcome in our home, Beleza. We mean that."

As the three of them walk out of the cafe, all smiles and laughs, Tippy lightly bonks his head on Bel’s shoulder. Bel giggles and playfully bonks xis head on top of Tippy’s. Vanilla smiles at the other two and teasingly bumps his shoulder into Bel. They look up at him, give a shy chuckle and touch his bicep,

“You guys are, like… really affectionate. I kind of figured since I’ve seen you two nuzzling and kissing all over each other all the time, ahahahaha!”

“Yeah.” Vanilla rubs his neck with a slight smile, “It’s funny. I’ve always been a hopeless romantic. I never thought I would find a kindred spirit such as Tippy… and hm, now you.”

“Nilla! You should have known I can never get enough attention.” Bel teases.

They all walk back to Vanilla’s black SUV. Bel feels a great sadness wash over him, he really enjoyed spending more time with his potential partners. Vanilla opens the passenger’s side for Tippy, then the middle door for Bel.

“I guess it’s time for you to take me back to the hotel, huh?” Bel gives them both a bittersweet smile. Vanilla and Tippy look at xem forlornly, then at each other. Vanilla speaks,

“That is correct… but it doesn’t mean we can’t still hang out for a while after that.” Bel looks up into Vanilla’s eyes, his smile still a little sad,

“I would really like that.”

The three sing along to songs and make jokes the entire way back to the hotel where Bel is staying for a while. Xe takes them both up to his room, where Tippy proceeds to leap face first on xis bed and lays there for a while.

Bel and Vanilla both look at each other with an amused face, then burst out laughing. Bel jumps on the bed next to him, and Vanilla just sits down daintily on the bed. Tippy sits up and giggles with Bel. They both end up playfully wrestling with each other while Vanilla watches. He covers his mouth and chuckles at the two goofing around. Bel holds onto Tippy and watches him try to wriggle free,

“Hey! No fair, you’re stronger than me!” Tippy laughs. Bel smirks,

“Well, maybe you should hit the gym, little man!”

Vanilla chuckles at the two of them then crawls over,

“Don’t make me come over there. I’ll sit on you both!”

“Sounds good to me.” Tippy teases. Bel playfully tugs on Vanilla’s sweater,

“Why don’t you join us, big guy?”

Vanilla leans over and lays next to them both. After a lull in the conversation, Bel speaks up,

“So… um…” They lean up and look over at the other two, “Ugh, this is so awkward…”

“What’s up, Bel?” Tippy asks.

“Well, like… you guys are so cute.” Bel covers his face, “I want to ask… for… like… a kiss… or something.”

Vanilla leans up and gently takes Bel’s hands away from their face. The two of them stare deeply into each other’s eyes. Vanilla lightly touches Bel’s chin and tilts his head,

“I’ve been thinking the same thing… Beleza…”

Tippy covers his mouth and watches the other two share a tender moment. Bel feels his cheeks get hotter as Vanilla leans in with his eyes closed. Their lips meet finally. Bel feels Vanilla’s warm, glossed lips, the taste of vanilla sugar flavored lip gloss glides over his mouth. Bel holds onto Vanilla’s shoulders and kisses him back. Vanilla slowly pulls away and gazes down at Bel with hooded eyelids. Bel is in a daze from kissing this man who he finds to be very very handsome. Vanilla smirks and gives a low chuckle,

“You look pleased…”

“O-oh! Yeah, I… oh my god, I just… that was uh… yeah.” Bel covers xis mouth, still tasting Vanilla’s lip gloss. Xe glances over at Tippy, wanting to kiss him as well. Silently, the two of them make their way to each other. Tippy leans up and Bel leans in. Their lips lock, even more gloss gets mixed in. The taste of Tippy’s raspberry flavored gloss glides over Bel’s lips, making xem lightly lick Tippy’s bottom lip. Tippy gets surprised but welcomes it, kissing xem deeper. Bel melts into Tippy’s kiss and softly touches his arm. The two of them pull away for breath, looking each other in the eyes. Bel averts his gaze, catching his breath a bit,

“Wow… you both really know how to kiss a guy, huh?”

Tippy smiles and wraps Bel up in a hug, which Bel enthusiastically returns, falling backwards and having Tippy lie on top of him. Vanilla jokingly lies on top of the other two, not putting his full weight on them though.

“Waugh! Vans, you’re crushing us!” Tippy teases him.

“I’m crushing you both with my love.” Vanilla kisses Tippy’s cheek and leans down to kiss Bel’s forehead. Tippy and Vanilla end up peppering Bel’s face with kisses on either side of his face, making him giggle.

“Oh yeah, I could get used to this!” Bel squeaks with delight.

MAGIC DIMENSION CUISINE for @je-ne-sais-p1s

take 4 of this fucking post jfkds;jakfld;sa. NOTE 1: planets are big and trade is everywhere. this really just represents the most traditional food in the specific regions where the winx grew up. NOTE 2: for brevity's sake i will encourage you, the reader, to assume that when i say, like, 'bananas,' what i MEAN is 'native fruits that are contextually similar to earth bananas.' cool? cool. let's go

SOLARIA: Snakes, scorpions, lizards, oh my! The hot, dry climate means plant matter is at a premium. Small reptiles and large insects make up the caloric bulk, along with a fair amount of milk. Cacti and palms provide the only substantial fruit, which, when fermented with honey, creates Solaria's most famous beverage. Flatbread is another staple, especially when combined with UNBELIEVABLY HOT PEPPERS. Most Solarian food is either sickeningly sweet or painfully spicy by non-Solarian standards.

ANDROS: Fish, obviously. Regular fish, shellfish, lots of shrimp, octopus, some saltwater snails. Lots of grilled/kebab'd* food, and acid marinating like ceviche. Fruits are mostly small and hardy, like figs, dates, olives, and thick-skinned grapes, and herbs/leafy spices are the main source of flavor enhancement. The warmest parts of Andros produce sugarcane, but the overall climate is too mild for much capsaicin and too wet for solid salt deposits, so the flavor profiles are mainly sweet and savory with a bit of acid.

LINPHEA: Large, soft-bodied fruits first and bugs second, baby. Papaya, mangoes, bananas, aaaall that good stuff, mostly eaten raw, and also a few leaves and edible flowers. Huge beetles and wild chickens are plentiful in Linphea's jungles, and large freshwater eels are rarer but highly prized. There's a wealth of rich spices like cinnamon, cacao, and vanilla, and peppers, so Linphean food is full of strong flavors and heat, but only mild sweetness.

ZENITH: MEAT. Zenith is so cold that the only significant vegetation on most of the planet is algae, which is eaten both as a paste and smoke dried as a papery film. Other than that it's a very whale-meat-heavy diet, with roe and crab for some variety. Their extremely advanced technology means Zenith has state-of-the-art hydroponics across the whole planet though, and there's obviously interplanetary trade, so they make heavy use of those to branch out. Zenethi bitches love bread and sour candy.

MELODY: The famous floating islands necessitate heavy reliance on fowl. Melody has several domesticated bird species, and more than a hundred ways to prepare eggs. The very dry earth means most of the plants are tough and unappetizing, but roots like potatoes, carrots, ginseng, etc are staples, and fungi are both plentiful and popular. Between the salmonella and the Textures, very, very little is eaten raw, almost everything being either cooked or fermented. Melodic cuisine has a very earthy/umami flavor profile in general.

DOMINO: You'd think this would be the spicy planet, but no! Lots of grains, gourds, melons, and berries, and yes, of course they had an equivalent to pumpkin pie. Roses and their cousins (plums, peaches, apples) were favorites, with whole, candied roses being an upperclass delicacy. Meat is considered optional except for special events, largely as a product of the ceremonial significance of hunting, and just like all the best declining empires, Domic nobility were EXTREMELY adventurous with food. They made some crazy cheeses.

MAGIX: Known for its pastry! Magix' fully synthetic geography and climate make it the ideal home for several delicate grains and fruits like pawpaws, so if you want baked goods or unique pastas, there is simply no better planet. They have a booming 'designer fruit' industry (rivaled only by Zenith's) and are constantly debuting new hybrids. On an artificial planet with no native animals, meat requires animal agriculture, and starting a population of animals is just harder than bringing a bag of seeds, so Magix really doesn't prioritize meat. However, as a massive trade hub, basically everything you can think of is readily available.

Weekly Summary: Long Summer days are spent exploring the mines and defeating the many foes that reside there. Within only a matter of days Leander has already descended to Level 15, yet even with the the call of the Valley driving him towards the depths our Farmer has found another calling.

The community of Pelican Town is filled with a vibrant and diverse set of individuals, each with their own dreams and goals for the future. After spending some time bonding with everyone over the delicious soup at the Summer Luau, Leander has gained the chance to better understand and grow friendships with many of his neighbors.
