Vy Shard | post prologue, pre game rating: G
View
It was dark outside when they arrived last night, and Vy had barely glanced out the window then. Amali Sero had ushered them and Aeran up a set of broken stairs to a small room while Cenric and the elven woman – Varyn – bickered. Too tired to do anything else, they’d crawled into bed and Aeran had done the same.
Now, after dawn has broken, they look out the small window. The room has a view, sweeping across a dark forest glinting with snow and mountains looming far to the right.
The nature is overwhelming, and silent. They’ve had the whole journey to adjust to the lack of crowds and noise of life, but here they feel it more keenly, everything is far away in the distance.
Vy remembers once, when they were very little, their mother had lifted them in her arms and swooped across the rooftops of Nesactium. They remember giggling, and their mother’s laugh. Was their father worried? Did he look up at them? The memory is fuzzy, like a dream, and Vy suddenly doesn’t know if it happened at all. They don’t remember the color or texture of their mother’s wings. The name of their parents.
They punch the wall and curse.
Aeran mutters in his sleep, but he remains sleeping. Good. They’re not ready to talk, to voice the questions they probably both have about their new life.
Outside, the dawn paints the sky pink, and there’s an eagle flying high above. The stone of the tower is old, but solid and the blankets in their beds warm and clean. Someone scurries across the courtyard below.
Someone like them, in a world without magic.
Maybe their luck has finally turned, a new life awaiting them, like the new view they never thought they’d have.

Fic Writers Year-End Wrap-Up
Thank you for the tag, @energievie @sam-loves-seb and @mybrainismelted
1. How many words have you written this year? About 135,000
2. How many works did you publish this year? 6, not counting Out of Nowhere which was complete in January. (That's a 2023 story)
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)? Workhouse Rock, my multi-chap prison/work camp story.
4. What work of yours has the most hits? From 2024? Workhouse Rock.
5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected? A Song Only You Can Hear. I figured this AUgust series would get a few eyes on it (I know it's hard as a reader to stick with 31 days of consecutive installments). But a lot of people read it!
6. Favorite title you used. No Sleep 'Til Nashville
7. If you use song lyrics, which artist's songs did you pull from the most? I usually use song lyrics, but I got away from that in 2024. So I guess Beastie Boys is the winner.
8. Pairing you wrote the most for this year? Ian and Mickey, although I did branch out and do some Stede/Ed art from Our Flag Means Death.
9. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year? Ian and Mickey.
10. What work was the quickest to write? Coming Attraction, for the Gallavich Gift Exchange.
11. What work took you the longest to write? Workhouse Rock. It's still in progress.
12. How many WIPs do you have in your docs for next year? The Big Bang story and Big Bang art.
13. What's your longest work of the year? Workhouse Rock, 61,041 words
14. What's your shortest work of the year? Coming Attraction, 3052 words
15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you? Workhouse Rock, plus my drabble series The Lord and the Footman.
16. What's your most common "Additional Tags" tag? Alternate Universe (which is a surprise to no one)
17. Your favorite character to write this year? Mickey. Always Mickey.
18. The character who gave you the most trouble writing this year? Maybe Marco from Workhouse Rock, because I wanted to take care to write him just right. OCs are hard to make three-dimensional and interesting.
19. What's one pairing you want to explore next year? More Gallavich, I'm sure!
20. Which work of yours have you reread the most? From this year? Probably A Song Only You Can Hear, because I re-read the entire story every day for the whole month.
21. How many kudos in total did you get this year? 946, plus I'm sure there were works from past years that got kudos in 2024.
22. Which work has the most comments? A Song Only You Can Hear
23. Did you do any collaborative works this year? Yes! I wrote Scary Sweet with @francesrose3 and Then and Now with @sam-loves-seb.
24. Did you write any gifts this year? Yes! Coming Attraction was a gift for @blue-disco-lights
25. Did you receive any gifts this year? I received Heat of the moment from @sickness-health-all-that-shit as part of the Gallavich Gift Exchange. I also got the story fruit by GrandSelfMythology, which was a gift for @deathclassic, but I am claiming it, too.
26. What's your most common category/trope? Enemies to lovers (or annoying co-workers to lovers)
27. What do you listen to while writing? Either nothing or classical music.
28. Favorite work you wrote this year? Workhouse Rock, but I'm also really excited about my Masquerade story.
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? The most recent lines in WR: "Please accept my care. My rebellion. My body. These are the only gifts I can offer you in here. They have to be enough. Please let them be enough."
30. Biggest surprise while writing this year? How much fun it is to write shorter works. I still love the multi-chap format, but smaller works have their place, too. I want to do more of each.
Tagging (or just saying hi!): @gallawitchxx @crossmydna @andthatisnotfake @blue-disco-lights
Happy New Year, everyone!

Bonne-Fortune Grocery Set
Published: 9-26-2023 | Updated: 9-28-2023 SUMMARY “The Bonne-Fortune series is the latest hit from Freezer Time Industries, receiving top honors at both FridgeCon and the ShinyThings, Inc. Expo. Give your store some retro-futuristic flair and bring all the customers to the yard!” This is a set of 13 moderately priced objects for grocery stores and other retail spaces. Shelves are designed to help you maximize space in/around displays, including a shelf (endtable OMSP) which holds objects at an angle. The set is intended to be modular but not too complicated – some assembly required (see below). Fridges function like shelves – so they won’t keep spoilable food from going bad. They have space for sale items and additional shelving but need to be shifted upward once. Several maxis-themed recolors and an invisible recolor (in case you need it for the carousel display) are included. Additional recolors are available on this site under the #ts2recolors and #co2recolors tags.
DETAILS Requires All Eps/SPs. §100-500 | Buy > Surfaces > Shelves Buy > Deco > Sculptures Buy > Lighting > Standing/Floor Lamps Everything is repo’d to one of the following objects: Carousel Display End, and Fridge 001– these items are REQUIRED for textures, etc. to display correctly in-game. The Bonne-Fortune Carousel Lite uses whatever recolors you have for the EverGlow Plutonium Rod (Nighlife EP), including THESE. **Since the invisible recolor was made first, the game may reference it when regenerating thumbnails. This doesn’t impact the look/use of objects in-game at all. ITEMS
3 Fridges Bonne-Fortune Refrigerator 001 (1328 poly), Bonne-Fortune Refrigerator 002 (1323 poly), Bonne-Fortune Refrigerator 003 (~1400 poly)
Modular Shelving & Deco Bonne-Fortune Shelf 001 (572 poly), Bonne-Fortune Shelf 002 (534 poly), Bonne-Fortune Shelf 003 (572 poly), Bonne-Fortune Carousel Lite (pictured with a default neon recolor; 1048 poly), Bonne-Fortune Carousel End Shelf (572 poly), Bonne-Fortune Carousel Center Shelf (580 poly), Bonne-Fortune Area Signs 001-002 (576 poly)
Carousel Display Bonne-Fortune Carousel Display End (1940 poly), Bonne-Fortune Carousel Display Center (383 poly), Bonne-Fortune Carousel Lite (pictured again with one of my Nightlife Neon Recolors applied)(1048 poly) DOWNLOAD (choose one) from SFS | from MEGA *A known game bug may disable some OFB shelf slots. Not all players experience this bug in the same way, but if you do – there is a long-standing fix for it. If you cannot access more than 2 slots on shelves, download ONE of these fixes: MORE_Custom-objects-placeable-on-shelves (Numenor, 2006) MORE_Custom-objects-placeable-on-shelves+LOCKEDTILES (Numenor, 2006) Object Freedom 1.02 (Fway, 2023) SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED
1) Place a refrigerator (remember to shift upwards once) or Carousel End/Center pieces (the carousel parts are deco; place end/center parts on the same tile). Use “move objects on/off” and/or “snap to grid true/false” cheats to add the second End piece to the carousel.
2) Use the same cheats to place shelves but make sure to add your sale items to them first. Adding items first makes things easier because if you try to put objects above a shelf with empty slots, the game may think you’re trying to put it on that shelf (including other shelves).
3) For the Carousel End Shelf (use it with the curvy part of the Carousel End), place an item on the shelf, and shift it in place until the item looks like it is sitting on the carousel.
4) Take advantage of the invisible recolors OR use the OMSP Controller (select SilentLucidity OMSPs) to make this shelf invisible/visible as needed. Do NOT use the invisible recolor if you’d rather use the OMSP controller.
5) You may need the Tile Blocker to keep sims from walking through parts of the display (i.e. the carousel). It is included with the meshes and in the collection file. Just be sure that you place it between/behind whatever shelving you add to the carousel – don’t accidently block those shelves.
6) The Carousel Lite is OPTIONAL deco – place it on the same tile as the Carousel End/Center pieces. It is repo’d to the EverGlow Plutonium Rod (neon light) from the Nightlife EP. As you can see in the pics above, the default recolors emit colored light. Custom recolors will emit a soft glow, but no bold colored light.
7) Area Signs 001-002 are optional deco as well – place and shift them as needed.

2023.11 ~ Top 5 longest fics posted on AO3
1. Seagulls Cause Storms, or the Essence of Chaos by @writandromance [M, 311k]
►Alternate universes never seem as real as our own. Draco felt no differently. He never questioned whether, in a far-off knot of space, he started hating Harry Potter at eleven and never stopped. All he knew was that here and now, it was unthinkable not to love him. /// This is Draco’s story from eleven to seventeen, should the flap of a butterfly’s wing change fate just enough to coax him down a different path.
2. Recursion by @tessacrowley [E, 132k]
►A process is recursive when it defines or contains itself; e.g., the Fibonacci sequence, which determines the next number as the sum of the previous two. But not all recursive processes are mathematical. Recursion can happen in a temporal context when, for instance, the powerful magical force that is true love drags you back in time so it can create itself, endangering the fate of the Wizarding World—not to mention the very fabric of space and time—along the way.
3. Christmas Courting by Kai_Embers [M, 87k]
►‘Christmas Courting’ or ‘Yuletide Courting’ is an ancient ritual that many Pure-blood wizards - and all members of the Sacred 28 - go through when choosing their intended. [...] Draco has no family, limited prospects and a legacy he needs to live up to, so on the 1st of December his name is published on the Christmas Courting list with Blaise backing him through the process as suiters vie for his hand. The Malfoy name is still worth something in the right circles.
4. Strand's Seven Stars by @shewhomustnotbenamed [E, 83k]
►Draco seeks out the help of a detective who is known for his discretion. Despite rocky introductions, Draco and the detective, Harry Potter, become friends as Draco is forced to share very personal information that reveals more about himself than he would have ever admitted to under any other circumstance. Fortunately, Harry is not only understanding of Draco's sexual preferences but encourages him to keep doing what he loves--perhaps with Harry himself.
5. give me touch (‘cause I’ve been missing it) by yaz113 [E, 65k]
►Harry Potter is living the life he'd always dreamed about, happily married to his childhood sweetheart, Ginny Potter née Weasley and playing as the star seeker of the Montrose Magpies. One minor quidditch accident and one trip to the medical center later, Harry finds himself under the spell of Team Healer Draco Malfoy, inadvertently putting his dream life at risk.

hello!! Do you have any Garth comic recommendations for someone (me) who has never read a Garth comic outside of a handful of TT issues before?
Hi!! I definitely have some recommendations! This definitely isn't a comprehensive reading list by ANY means (although I do want to make one eventually!), but rather a small smattering of Garth centric comics that I think are fun or noteworthy! (These are also not in any particular order, just written out as they come into my brain lol)
Tempest (1996) - Obviously the Garth holy grail! There is no better Garth comic than this. It is peak and honestly one of the best books DC has ever put out. It's short, too (only 4 issues), so it's not too intensive of a read.
Adventure Comics #269 - "The Kid from Atlantis" - Garth's first appearance! Don't get too hung up on the lore here, as it changes later on, but it's a sweet issue and obviously important!
Adventure Comics #270 - "The Menace of Aqualad" - I love this issue for a multitude of reasons-- including the fully unintentional foreshadowing,-- but mainly I love it because it showcases what a sweet person Garth is and always has been.
World's Finest Comics #133 - "Aquaman's New Partner -- Aqua-girl" - Again, the lore needs to be disregarded, but this issue fascinates me as an early iteration of Garth's insecurity about where he stands with Arthur/feeling useful.
I probably shouldn't list everything individually so this post doesn't end up being a mile long, haha! So I'll start putting some groupings together:
Aquaman vol 1 #14, 18, 23, and #33
The Brave and the Bold #54
Teen Titans vol 1 #11 (not particularly Garth centric but just especially fun to me lol), #17, #19, #28, #29, #44-end of series. (Side note that @ttwasteland has a really good podcast covering volume 1 of Teen Titans! Actually, they have a lot of Teen Titans podcasts! Which is really useful for those who struggle to read Silver Age comics + I am immensely pleased with Hub's Aqualad enthusiasm!)
The Brave and the Bold (vol 3) #10
Death of a Prince (Technically, I recommend reading all of it, since it'll help you understand how things got to this point. But especially Adventure Comics #452 and the Aqualad stories in #453-455.)
Tales of the Teen Titans #85 & #86 + Teen Titans Spotlight #10
Teen Titans Spotlight #18
Teen Titans Spotlight #21
Aquaman vol 5 (Yes, all of it lol)
Showcase '96 #1
Teen Titans (Vol 3) #12-16
JLA/Titans
Titans (vol 1) At least the Devin Grayson portion, but I don't dislike the later stuff either!
There are also storylines that I think are fun or important that happen in across various books/stories (Obsidian Age, Aquaman vol 6, other (Teen) Titans stories, Blackest Night, CoIE, dare I even say Sword of Atlantis...), but I'll save those for a more in-depth reading list some other time! These ones are just popping up in my head rn.
If you want N52/Rebirth stuff, there are also a few stories that are pretty good. Sadly, they're pretty few and far between since canon changes and DC tossing their character bibles have left poor Garth in an odd, largely OoC limbo for years. Although I don't /love/ these stories as much as others, they still manage to vaguely pass the vibe check:
Nightwing & the Titans in Team Building (Robin 80th Anniversary 100 Page Super Spectacular) It's not super Garth centric, but it's fun!
Aquaman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1 - “It’s a Family Affair”
Aquaman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1 - “Lady in the Lake”
World's Finest: Teen Titans & DC's Spring Breakout "Relay for your Life" Garth's characterization in these... isn't right, but I feel like it has the spirit more than the vast majority of things published in recent years.
Titans (2023-) I... don't totally feel right putting this here, but I feel like slowly... extremely slowly... they are starting to fix Garth's characterization. We're not quite there yet-- and it is sadly written by Tom Taylor,-- but I feel like it's going to lead to something that's actually good for Garth again. (Aka so many hints towards a potential new Tempest mini-series or one-shot have been dropped lately, and I feel like this series will be context important.)
Ok, to try to finish this out: Also consider watching some stuff with Garth in it like Aquaman (1967) TV show / DC Super Hero Girls (2019), or reading some cute, non-canon series such as Tiny Titans! It's just good fun!!
Anyways, thank you so much for the ask!! I hope this helps!!! (And thank you for allowing me a chance to ramble lol!)

The Long-term Complications of Covid-19 Infection - Published Sept 13, 2024
Context.— As the Covid-19 pandemic continues into its 4th year, reports of long-term morbidity and mortality are now attracting attention. Recent studies suggest that Covid-19 survivors are at increased risk of common illnesses, such as myocardial infarction, diabetes mellitus and autoimmune disorders. Mortality may also be increased. This article will review the evidence that supports some of these observations and provide an opinion about their validity and their relevance to insured cohorts.
Background Many Covid-19 survivors report protracted symptoms, sometimes lasting 3 years or more. These are collectively called post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC) or long Covid. They have been frequently described.1–4 In the past year, reports of long-term complications such as atrial fibrillation, heart failure, stroke and pulmonary embolism have emerged. In some reports these established disease entities are erroneously described as long Covid, generating confusion. The distinction is important: illness reported in Covid survivors are not restricted to the long Covid cohort. Thus, they are relevant to the majority of the North American population who have been infected by SARS-CoV-2, and not just the estimated 5-10% of individuals who belong to the long Covid cohort. This paper will examine the reports of increased incidence of cardiovascular diseases in both and will examine the reported long-term increase in mortality.
Cardiovascular disease after 1 and 2 years Multiple studies have reported an increased risk of cardiovascular events at 1 year. A February 2022 analysis of 153,760 US veterans, followed for 1 year after Covid-19 infection, reported an increased risk of cerebrovascular disease (HR 1.53), ischemic heart disease (HR 1.66), thromboembolic disease (HR 2.39) and atrial fibrillation (HR 1.71).5 Risk was greatest in those hospitalized and those with pre-morbid illnesses. However, risk was also elevated in outpatients, who constituted the vast majority of the cohort. These findings have been corroborated in 2 further studies. In a 2023 analysis of 690,000 Covid-19 survivors, drawn from the TriNetX database–self-described as the world’s largest global Covid-19 dataset–there was an increased risk of cerebrovascular disease (HR 1.6), ischemic heart disease (HR 2.8), thromboembolic disease (HR 2.6) and atrial fibrillation (HR 2.4) at 1 year.6 In contrast to the VA study which examined a predominantly older male population, the subjects in this study were younger, with mean age 44, and 57% were female. Risk was higher in the >65 age group and was not limited to inpatients. In a May 2023 Lancet retrospective analysis of 535,000 Hong Kong (HK) and 16,000 UK Covid 19 survivors, similar hazard ratios were recorded for stroke (HR 1.2), ischemic heart disease (HR 1.32), atrial fibrillation (HR 1.31) and deep venous thrombosis (HR 1.74).7 However, it is worth noting that while follow-up was described as 28 months for the HK cohort and 17 months for the UK cohort, the median follow-up for the HK group was 146 days and was 243 days for the UK cohort, somewhat limiting the conclusions of true impact at 1 year. Contradicting these studies, a prospective analysis of 17,000 Covid-19 survivors in the UK Biobank, did not document an increased risk of cardiovascular outcomes amongst outpatients, with the exception of thromboembolic disease (HR 2.7).8 An August 2023 analysis of 138,000 VA Covid-19 survivors followed for 2 years– the longest follow-up period to date– reported that the risk of complications in outpatients had returned to baseline at 6 months.9 In contrast, the risk for multiple cardiovascular and thromboembolic complications in the hospitalized cohort remained elevated at 2 years. None of these 5 studies was limited to individuals with long Covid, but similar findings have been reported in this group: a recent analysis of 13,435 individuals who had been diagnosed with long Covid, based on a typical array of symptoms, reported increased risks at 1 year for ischemic heart disease (HR 1.7), ischemic stroke (HR 2.1) and pulmonary embolism (HR 3.6).10
These studies document a fairly consistent, increased risk of cardiovascular complications among Covid-19 survivors. However, important questions remain. Amongst these: does increasing population immunity and vaccination change the risk? Is the magnitude of risk similar for all SARS CoV-2 variants? Does reinfection increase the risk? Answers to some are available. Vaccination appears to attenuate the risk: a Korean study of 592,000 individuals post-Covid-19 infection, showed that vaccination decreased the risk of heart attack and stroke by approximately 50%.11 This finding was replicated in a large US cohort where major adverse cardiovascular events were reduced by a similar amount for full vaccination, and by 25% for partial vaccination.12 Thus, while vaccination does not eliminate long-term complications, it appears to provide a substantial protective effect.
Reinfection may increase the risk of sequelae. In a large US VA cohort of 440,000 Covid survivors, of whom 40,000 had one or more SARS-CoV-2 reinfections, the risk of cardiovascular disorders was increased (HR 3.02), when compared to a single infection.13 Moreover, this risk was not modified by vaccination.
The impact of different variants is less clear. Most of the described studies were conducted in 2020-2021 when delta and pre-delta variants predominated. It is unclear whether similar outcomes would characterize infection with Omicron variants, which remain dominant in most countries since November 2021. Interestingly, the risk of cardiovascular complications in the cohort of Hong Kong survivors described above, where the Omicron was the prevalent strain, was no different than among the comparator UK Biobank cohort, where pre-Omicron strains were prevalent.7
Is there extra long-term mortality after Covid-19 infection? Extra mortality has been reported by several studies.6,8,14–18 A 2021 US analysis of 400 Covid-19 survivors, documented increased mortality (HR 2.5) at 1 year.14 The additional risk was confined to individuals who had been hospitalized. In 2022, 3 studies reported excess mortality in 3 different countries. The first, an Estonian whole-population study of 66,000 Covid-19 survivors, of whom 8% were hospitalized, reported a 3-fold increase in mortality at 12 months.15 Mortality was particularly elevated in the first 5 weeks following infection. For those over age 60, increased mortality persisted until 12 months (HR 2.8). However, for those less than age 60, mortality was not increased after 35 days. The second, an analysis of 690,000 Covid-19 survivors from the TriNetX database also reported increased 1-year mortality risk (HR 1.6).6 This was largely explained by excess deaths in individuals over age 65; below age 45 risk was not increased. For the outpatient cohort the risk of mortality was lower than that of the comparison group (HR 0.46). The third, a study of 25,000 Covid-19 survivors drawn from the UK Biobank, reported increased mortality risk at 20 months, for those with severe Covid infection (HR 14.7), but also an increased risk for those with mild disease (HR 1.23).16 Stratification by age was not provided.
In 2023 4 further studies reported similar, but at times quantitatively different results. Two analyses drew on the UK Biobank cohort. In the first, a prospective evaluation of 7,800 SARS-CoV-2 PCR positive individuals, increased mortality was reported for the study group at 18 months (HR 5.0), when compared to both a contemporary and an historical cohort.17 For the non-severe cases the mortality risk remained elevated (HR 4.8). The second study, already described above– a comparative analysis of 7600 Covid survivors from the UK Biobank and 530,000 Covid survivors in Hong Kong–reported increased mortality (HR 4.16) after 17 months for the former and 28 months for the latter.7 The risk of mortality was higher in the UK than the HK cohort, a difference the authors posited was due to Omicron being the dominant variant in HK during the study period. The risk remained elevated, but less so, for younger cohorts and for mild Covid-19 infections.
Finally, 2 large US studies recently reported mortality at 2 years. In the first, an analysis of 138,000 US veteran Covid-19 survivors with 5.9 million controls, the risk of death for the hospitalized cohort remained elevated at 2 years (HR 1.29).8 In contrast, the risk of death for the outpatient cohort returned to baseline at 6 months. Breakdown of risk by age-group was not provided. The second study, also of US veterans, reported similar findings. In a cohort of 280,000 Covid-19 survivors the risk of death remained elevated at 2 years (HR 2.0).18 The risk was highest in the first 90 days (HR 6.3) and decreased at 6 months (HR 1.18). Thereafter, the risk in Covid-19 survivors was slightly less than the control group (HR 0.89). A post-hoc subgroup analysis examined and refuted the possibility that accelerated mortality in the control group could have explained the lower mortality in Covid-19 survivors. The risk of death in hospitalized individuals remained elevated at 2 years (HR 1.22).
How Plausible is this Information? The studies described above command attention by virtue of their size and the consistency of their findings in different populations, and in different countries. They are also supported by the observations of long-term pathophysiologic abnormalities following SARS-CoV-2 infection, such as ongoing inflammation, persistence of virus, and immune system dysfunction. However, the negative ledger is also substantial. Observational studies such as these, no matter how well-designed, remain open to many types of bias. Reliance on diagnostic codes, prescription records, laboratory results and tallies of clinical visits, to establish disease incidence, is intrinsically error-prone and makes cross-study comparisons difficult. Perhaps more importantly, the cohorts described above were different in many respects, varying from the older, male-predominant cohort of the US VA system to the younger healthier cohort of the UK Biobank. Further, cohorts were constituted during the first year of the pandemic, at a time when healthcare delivery was disrupted, lockdowns were in effect, vaccination and antivirals were largely unavailable, and population immunity levels were low. Thus, it could be argued that the observed outcomes are better explained by an evolving pandemic, rather than solely SARS-CoV-2 infection. This could also explain the most recent reports that after 2 years of follow-up, the risk of both Covid-19 complications and mortality, in most of those infected (i.e., the non-hospitalized), is no longer elevated. It also evident that most of the reported extra mortality is occurring in the early months following infection, where survival curves separate rapidly.6,10,15,18
Are these findings relevant to an insured population? ‘Partially’ is probably the best answer. The most important observation is that hospitalization, and in-particular an intensive care unit admission, is the dominant risk factor for both morbidity and mortality. This risk appears to persist up to 2 years. The second important risk element is the presence of comorbid conditions. This observation raises the interesting question of what exactly causes the extra mortality. Is it due to ‘protracted’ SARS-Co-V-2 infection or is it caused by a recognized complication of Covid-19, such as pulmonary fibrosis or acute kidney injury? Or is it explained by an aggravation of a comorbid illness? Or is it a complication of long Covid? There is a likelihood that all these mechanisms were at play in the cohorts under study.
For non-hospitalized individuals, and those that are healthy, the evidence for extra morbidity and mortality after the first 3-6 months is far from conclusive. For the long Covid cohort, the evidence for additional mortality requires further supporting evidence. As the prevalence of co-morbid conditions is lower in insured populations, one might reasonably expect, based on current evidence, that longer-term morbidity and mortality due to Covid-19 infection will be minimally affected.

What would you think about showing your support for Palestine?
I don't understand the question. What would I think? What do I think about showing my support specifically, or about other people showing their support?
I support Palestine of course. Below are some links:
🟡 Information
If you know nothing about the history of the Palestine-Israel conflict, you can start with Decolonize Palestine website; particularly the Palestine 101 section. It won't take much time. Also the myths section; the myths address most of the typical zionists' arguments.
Palquest also seems good if you want to understand the chronology of what has happened on the land since the Ottoman Empire, it was set up by the Institute for Palestine Studies and the Palestinian Museum. But I haven't explored everything yet since it's massive.
If you think those are too biased or whatever, you can supplement them by googling more info yourself about things such as The First Zionist Congress, Balfour Declaration, Great Palestinian Rebellion, Nakba, 1948 Arab–Israeli War, creation of Hamas, etc. Read multiple websites for each one of these. Compare and contrast the info.
I also suggest you watch videos from anti-zionist jews on tiktok; search #jewsagainstzionism #antizionistjew.
🟡 October 2023
You can refer to this post, there are links that talk about the recent October events. This is also a brief summary on how Hamas-Israel October 7 impacted Gaza.
To get recent updates:
People: Motaz Azaiza (a photographer who provides video updates of what's happening in Gaza). Plestia Alaqad (a journalist who also provides updates in Gaza). Click on their IG stories.
News: AlJazeera English, Eye On Palestine.
Others: Chris Kunzler, Subhi.
That list is not comprehensive of course, but you can use those as a starting point. You can also follow the #palestine or #gaza tags on tiktok and tumblr. I suggest tiktok since news travel a lot faster there.
🟡 What can you do
Rallies: Join Palestine solidarity rallies in your country if you can; this is a list of rallies from October 28 to November 5. But make sure you read guidelines and know how to behave during a rally, also pay attention to what is lawful and what isn't in your country.
Demand a ceasefire: For those who are in the USA, in the UK. I don't live in those countries so I don't know much, feel free to explore the tags. Americans really have a reason to be mad, your gov use your tax money and army to help the IOF kill kids. I don't even want to begin talking about Britain.
Boycott: Refer to BDS Movement to know what main brands to boycott, there are several like HP and Siemens. There are also other brands, you can find the info on tiktok; but from what I know people are currently focusing on Starbucks, McD and Disney.
Donate: This is long-term help, since people can barely get aids into Gaza at the moment (except for the recent 20 trucks). But some of them are still taking donation, so check. Palestine Red Crescent Society, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, Medical Aid for Palestinians, Baitulmaal, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan.
🟡 Others
I haven't tried these yet for personal reason but these are highly recommended by people.
Life in Occupied Palestine documentary by Anna Baltzer, who is a Jewish-American.
The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine book by Ilan Pappé, an Israeli historian and socialist activist. He has also written an article about what happened recently.
Another list of published books you can read to learn more. Edit: I couldn't link it. Go to tiktok and next to tiktok(.)com/, paste this: @book.butch/video/7293673677256903982?lang=en
Double check the info and the links. I might have missed something, so if there's wrong info or any correction needs to be done, kindly let me know.
If you have questions about the conflict, don't ask me; follow the links and people I've listed above. I am dealing with fatigue and emotional exhaustion, the issue has been triggering anxiety attacks.
Zionists do not interact.

ENG Translation: Joker Out live in Cologne: 24.03.2024.
Article written by N. May and published by Kaleidoskop on 28.3.2024.
Cologne concert report (in German ) by Kaleidoskop and available here: https://kaleidoskopmagazin.com/2024/03/28/joker-out-live-in-koln-24-03-2024/
Translation by IG olenalinasarah, proofread by IG kris_foundagain.
Since their formation in 2016, the career of Ljubljana's Joker Out has been continuously taking off. Since the 2023 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, the name of this band - made up of five young men from Slovenia - has been on everyone’s lips. On their European tour in spring 2024, the band, together with two support acts, also graced Cologne with a concert at Die Kantine. We were there to attend the performance.
Sector 5 from Berlin opened the evening, reaching the international fans in attendance with lyrics and stage announcements in English. Their musical mix of pop, rock, and rap positively surprised not just us, but got the rest of the crowd singing along as well. Confidently and professionally, the four musicians captured the room's attention and presented a set that was definitely worth the experience.
JC Stewart, a Northern Irish musician who lives and works in London, followed as second support act. He delighted fans not just with the charming story of how he crossed paths with Joker Out in an Irish pub in London, but also with a confident one-man show that needed no more than his talented voice and a guitar to convince the crowd.
During the break before the main act, the anticipation in the room rose noticeably, and the excitement was palpable. Joker Out entered the stage to the euphoric chants and cheering of fans.
Gola, from their debut album Umazane Misli (2021), kicked off the evening's set, and the reactions of the crowd were unmistakable – everyone in the hall was captivated from the very first second.
That a band whose lyrics are mainly in Slovenian is able to win over an international crowd, let alone get them to dance and sing along, is not just rare, but also speaks to the engaging personalities of the five musicians. Whether Ona, Vse Kar Vem, Demoni or Plastika, the band’s stage presence tore down all language barriers, demonstrating impressively that music connects people regardless of the language spoken.
However, there was more than one linguistic peculiarity that evening: for example, singer Bojan Cvjetićanin even used the song Tokio to teach the excited fans a bit of Japanese.
One highlight was the as-yet unreleased song Behind Those Eyes, whose original working title was said to have been the German word "Schlager", as the band revealed with a wink. The official release of this song on their announced second [sic: third] album will certainly be highly anticipated.
Similarly well-received by fans was the ballad Metulji ("Butterfly" in English), which was, in accordance with the title, performed by Bojan wearing pink wings and butterfly headgear in the middle of the crowd.
Joker Out opted to pass on the classic "encore game" in which the band retreats backstage in anticipation of being called back by the crowd. Instead, they transitioned into the long-awaited karaoke version of Umazane Misli, where not just the band, but also the fans, are invited to sing the verses [sic: the chorus] in their national language.
From German to Polish, Russian, Greek, and more - anyone brave enough to take the microphone that Bojan carried through the crowd got their own chance to put on a little live performance.
With Carpe Diem and Novi Val, the 16-song set then came to a successful end, and Joker Out were seen off the stage with a well-earned thunderous applause.
We were happy to have experienced this evening and could write many more words to describe the talent, the performance, and the charisma of Joker Out – and yet, nothing can do these five musicians justice except seeing them live for yourself.
If we get our way, this will not be our last Joker Out concert. As soon as the chance presents itself, we'll be happy to see them again.

AO3 Wrapped 2024 (Writer's Edition)
1. How many words have you written this year?
747,677
2. How many works did you publish this year?
28
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
Die Trying. It's my longest oneshot to date and I just really like how it turned out
4. What work of yours has the most hits?
Okay, so technically my fic 恨君不似江楼月 | Killer and Healer has the most hits but that fic has carried over since like...2022? I think? So if we're truly counting this year then it would be It's Not the Devil at Your Door (It's Just Your Shadow on the Floor) with 4,512 hits
5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?
Oh It's Not the Devil at Your Door (It's Just Your Shadow on the Floor) because while it wasn't my first F1 fic, I was shocked at how many people really enjoyed it. Like, shocked
6. Favorite title you used?
Oh, all of my titles were good this year
7. If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?
My song lyrics were pulled from different artists, not one in particular
8. Pairing you wrote the most for this year?
Jiang Yuelou/Chen Yuzhi (no one is surprised)
9. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?
Well, Jiang Yuelou/Chen Yuzhi is always fun to write for, but I'd have to say either Loscar or Carlando (Lestappen is good too) but I'd say these two, just because they were different and their fics were fun to write
10. What work was the quickest to write?
Promise to Keep
Wrote it literally after the finale of Chinese Paladin 4 aired
11. What work took you the longest to write?
Die Trying
So I created the document in May but then like finally finished it in November. So...yeah. Like 7 months. 恨君不似江楼月 | Killer and Healer is taking me forever though...who knows when I'm gonna finish it. Hopefully next year or the year after that
12. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?
7...maybe? I know I have like 3 definite ones and the other ones are up in the air
13. What’s your longest work of the year?
Okay, so 恨君不似江楼月 | Killer and Healer is technically the longest fic of the year, but if we're just counting 2024 alone it would probably be Die Trying because all of my longer fics carried over from 2023
14. What’s your shortest work of the year?
Stay the Night By My Side (1,096 words)
15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you?
恨君不似江楼月 | Killer and Healer
She's truly gonna follow me til the end of time
16. What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?
Originally Posted on Tumblr (185) (I wrote a lot of tumblr prompts back in the day)
17. Your favorite character to write this year?
Oh, I'd have to say Oscar Piastri in my F1 rpf fics. He's just fun
18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?
I didn't really have any trouble with characters this year
19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?
I'd like to explore Loscar and Lestappen a little more next year and Javey. I have some good fic ideas in store for them
20. Which work of yours have you reread the most?
All of them?
21. How many kudos in total did you get this year?
1,855
22. Which work has the most comments?
恨君不似江楼月 | Killer and Healer
23. Did you do any collaborative works this year?
No
24. Did you write any gifts this year?
No
25. Did you receive any gifts this year?
No
26. What’s your most common category?
M/M
27. What do you listen to while writing?
Anything and everything, but mainly a playlist that I listen to almost every day
28. Favorite work you wrote this year?
Tie between Die Trying and Monster Like Me
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
“You know…I think the reason Keying is so kind and so loving like Princess Ning’an…is because you are kind and loving” he mused, making Chen Yuzhi look at him in confusion. “What do you mean? Me? Kind? Loving? I killed innocent people, like the fucking princess, for God’s sake. How does that make me kind and loving person?” he hissed. Jiang Yuelou huffed. “That was the you then. It is not the you now. You are a kind and loving person, Chen Yuzhi, whether you believe it or not. I’ve seen it in the way you treat Keying and in the way you treat villagers. You care. Could the you all those years ago say that?” he asked. Chen Yuzhi was quiet before he shook his head. “No” he whispered. Jiang Yuelou nodded. “Exactly. You learned how to be a kind and loving person from Princess Ning’an and then took that love and care and kindness and raised Keying with it. She is a kind and loving child because of you. You, not anyone else” he declared, making Chen Yuzhi stare at him with wide eyes before he quickly looked away, silence soon falling over the both of them before Jiang Yuelou looked over at him and placed a gentle hand on his thigh. “You are a good and kind and loving person, Chen Yuzhi. You are not Zhan Tianqing. And you never will be” he assured before he pushed himself to his feet and made his way towards the door, just as Chen Yuzhi looked at him. “Jiang Yuelou” he called out. Jiang Yuelou turned to look at him. “Hm?” he replied. Chen Yuzhi looked at him with glassy eyes. “Thank you” he whispered.
I just like this passage because I think it was something that Chen Yuzhi needed to hear and I really like how I wrote it (cuz I had something different planned out for this scene but I like how it turned out)
30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?
That for some god damn reason, my fics wanted to fight me for no good reason. No, I'm not kidding, I had to rewrite Monster Like Me three different times because we settled on the final version (the third version) and Die Trying also wanted to be a little shit...but then again, I'm always striving for my fics to be really good (I have fun writing but I hold my fics to a high standard) so sometimes my fics like to be brats. Which is rude but *shrugs*

Make your voice heard and ask the CDC to:
Recommend updated 2024-2025 COVID vaccines for all ages AND
Strengthen our vaccine drive by recommending more frequent boosting (at least every six months) and more frequent updates to the vaccines, adjusted for the latest variants.
Submit a public comment using our sample language below.
You can also register to give Oral Public Comment at the upcoming June 26-28 online CDC ACIP Meeting at: https://www2.cdc.gov/vaccines/acip/acip_publiccomment.asp
Submit written comments and/or register to make oral comments at the meeting by Monday, June 17 at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time.
It’s important to submit a personalized comment, which can be brief. Ideas for a personalized comment:
How you, your family, or your community would be impacted by fall vaccine eligibility being restricted to only high risk groups (such as older age or immunocompromised status)
Barriers to vaccination your have faced, particularly if your eligibility was questioned or misinterpreted by a vaccine provider
How out-of-pocket costs are a barrier to getting the latest vaccines
Also feel free to take inspiration from or borrow the language in our sample public comment below.
Docket No. CDC–2024–0043
Updated 2024-2025 COVID vaccines must be recommended for people of all ages, regardless of health status. A restrictive approach to eligibility would create undue barriers for vulnerable people and discourage high risk people from getting needed vaccine boosters.
The vaccine schedule should address waning efficacy in the months following vaccination [1-3] as well as emergence of new SARS-CoV-2 strains by recommending updated vaccination for all ages, at least every six months. Recent vaccination is also associated with a lower risk of developing Long COVID following a COVID infection [4] as well as a lower risk of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children (MIS-C) [5].
The CDC’s clear and unequivocal recommendation of updated COVID vaccination for all ages will influence what healthcare providers recommend, and what health insurances cover. Moreover, it will improve public awareness regarding the need for updated vaccination.
The CDC must ensure equitable and affordable access to updated vaccines and prevent limited access because of financial constraints or demographics. The CDC’s Bridge vaccine access program is slated to end August 2024 and must be extended to ensure uninsured and underinsured people have access to the updated vaccines this fall [6].

Vaccination with the latest updated vaccines continues to be foundational to a multilayered approach to COVID, providing protection against both acute disease and Long COVID. Far too few Americans have received the latest vaccines. Only approximately 22.6% of adults and 14.8% of children have received the latest 2023-2024 vaccines (as of June 1, 2024), which have been available since Fall 2023. COVID vaccination rates in both groups lags far behind influenza vaccination rates. Only 7.1% of adults aged 65 and older received the recommended two doses of the 2023-2024 vaccine (as of April 27, 2024).
Vaccine efficacy wanes significantly four to six months following vaccination, making updated vaccination important for all people as COVID continues to spread in our communities. Vaccine approaches that restrict access based on age or risk status put all of us at risk and leave those at high risk of severe consequences of COVID infection confused about whether they qualify to receive additional doses. A more frequent vaccination approach providing vaccination at least every six months as well as frequent updates to match current variants is needed to better protect all of us amid year-round COVID spread.
The CDC’s Bridge Access Program, which provides COVID vaccines to uninsured and underinsured adults free of charge, is due to end August 2024. The end of this program will unnecessarily put vulnerable people at risk, and public health officials must advocate for continuation and expansion of this program.
Submitted written comments or registration to make oral comments at the meeting must be received by the CDC no later than June 17 at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time

Billionheir Shelves
Published: Simmons 9-24-2023 | Updated: 9-28-2023 SUMMARY “Billionheir Shelves by Selfless Salesman - cheap, modular shelves for shop owners with billionaire-like pride but broke down budgets. Combine two or more items to create unique commercial displays.” Cheap, weathered store shelves for shop owners who need to save some simoleons. Matching wall paneling and a handful of maxis-themed swatches are included. Combine items to create unique commercial displays.
DETAILS Requires All EPs/SPs. §50 | Buy > Shelves OR Buy > Sculptures §5 | Build > Walls > Paneling To streamline files/recolors, everything is repo’d to one of the Billionheir Pedestal Shelf 001 (wall/pedestal/shelf colors) – this item is REQUIRED for textures, etc. to display correctly in-game. Recolors files are combined so if you delete the “timber” recolor, for example, you delete it for all subsets/objects it applies to. Additional recolors will be available on this site under #ts2recolors and #co2recolors.
You’ll need to turn “move objects” ON if you want to place wall shelves away from walls. When placing Billionheir Pedestal Shelf 002 and 004, they need to be shifted upwards at least once.
