Native Speakerism has effects that are far-reaching , influencing our interactions, opportunities, and perceptions in reflective ways. It doesn’t sound really nice when there are cases where people, born and grew up in a country and even have its passport, still struggle with their own language. Surprisingly, despite these confusing situations, there are cases of strong biases favoring native speakers on social media.

GEOFFREY: Do you think you were ever Paul McCartney's best friend?
DENNY: I don't know. I felt we were friends. Whether I was his best friend ...
GEOFFREY: Well, there wasn't anyone else who was around anymore, was there?
DENNY: No. But I mean he had his brother, he had his family.
GEOFFREY: Was he very close with Mike?
DENNY: Yes. But in an elder brother sort of way. I mean he certainly wouldn't spoil Mike, but he'd still buy him a car once in a while or help him out. I don't think they were the best of friends all the time. There's a competition there, but then you get that in a lot of families.
GEOFFREY: Personally, I think Mike is extremely talented and his McGear allbum was brilliant. I always look on that LP like a Wings album.
DENNY: Yes. Well, we all played on it. Paul was very much the main man there, the producer.
GEOFFREY: I don't quite understand why it didn't do anything.
DENNY: I know. That's always upset me as well. Let's put it this way: if Paul had pushed that like he did his own albums, it would have been big, and it deserved to be. Frankly, I was a little bit disappointed that Paul didn't get behind that. I think he mainly left it to Mike. We all know that Mike hasn't got his kind of money and couldn't have promoted it properly.
GEOFFREY: It's funny how he never drew Mike into the family business.
DENNY: Mike might not have wanted to, you know. There's that brotherly rivalry there.

Jazz becoming the next big Gothem villain is such a solid concept. Theres so much to explore.
She targets corrupt mental institutions. Corrupt companies who destroy their workers state of mind so they wont quit. She attacks landlords who make it impossible for people to live comfortably.
She is the staple anti-hero of anyone struggling to get back on their feet. People should have to work three jobs just to afford a crappy one bedroom, no utilities, half bath, in crime alley apartment, with a roommate.
Shelters should be aiming to gain a profit instead of using the donations to support others.
She is tired of these big name heros leaving children to clean up messes. She has watcher her own brother wither away to a shell of his former self trying to make a change and she is sick of it. Hell she herself is a child but if this is what it takes, then this is what it takes.
Enter from the left The Manipulator™️
Feared by all corrupt. People think she has mind control or something. When she targets someone they make almost a full 180 in their ways. “She will do anything to get her way or to make people into what she thinks they should be. And she mist be stopped” cries big business.
In reality she is the worlds best damn psychiatrist ever to be known. She doesn’t force anyone to change but gives them the choice to be better. To see how much more they can be. And it terrifies them. Helps them find themselves again and to move past their troubling pasts. No force and no mind control. No manipulating. No one but those who she has helped know the truth but when they tell the truth it only fuels the fire of her being controlling.
Theres one thing also fuelling the flames of mind control. Thats the fact that every single major hero to go after her can’t. Any who approach her find themselves no long near her. Superman just wants to talk, well she doesn’t, and he is then back in his city?!? Batman is stalking her to figure out how to deal with her but once he gets too close he suddenly finds himself in the batcave?
At first they think it’s teleportation but time is passing? Theres video feed and tracking of no they just went back themselves. No response from them the whole trip. As if possessed. (Lmao it’s just good brother danny pranking his sis a little by making her seem all powerful but also protecting her anyway he can. Or could be Dan instead)

I’ve got one of those late night posts rolling around in my head, and this is probably more proof I should start sleeping with my phone in another room, but HERE WE ARE
One of the best things about becoming an author is how it changed how I experience media, but also, goddamn was that a trip through a valley. It’s so easy to let frustration and cynicism poison what you’re reading/watching/listening to, when the first impulse is, I can do better than this. Why did this succeed when I didn’t? Or even, this isn’t what I want the story to be. Isn’t that wrong?
But the more I learn as a writer and artist, the more I learn to see what cynicism interprets as flaws to actually be deliberate choices. (This is at least partially due to seeing my own deliberate creative choices deeply misinterpreted, haha.) Everything is so much more interesting when you assume the creator acted with intent, and look for why.
Periodically I see people griping about writing from a defensive crouch, which is a fair complaint. But honestly I’d like readers, viewers, listeners to understand that for the last couple decades, social media driven media criticism has prioritized easy, sensationalized punch lists of a work’s flaws. Our audiences need to start asking if they’re engaging with the work itself, or the baggage they’ve personally brought to it.

I wanted to find that preview image of Katsuki framed in red with a furious expression to support my thesis but I can't find that rn. (The one regarding Aoyama and how he "wants a few good blasts at him to be even for everything that happened to him because of the LOV targeting them" )
Thesis: assuming a Quirkless Izuku ending, and a BKDK Agency ending, imagine if someone ever disrespected Izuku for being Quirkless, or called him washed up after winning the war.
Vague statements like "I hear their agency hires the most Quirkless population of any agency! How strange!" are one thing, but when it's personal about Izuku...
Something like, "Why is he in such a prominent Hero position with no Quirk? Couldn't Dynamight do more with a Hero Partner who still has a Quirk?", or "it's such a pity he has no Quirks, he was so amazing before!" or "I hate to say it about the guy but what if he's holding Dynamight back...?"
And Katsukis head just SNAPPING towards that person, that expression of fury on his face.
"What the FUCK did you just say?"
Katsuki making sure that NO ONE disrespects Izuku for having no Quirk, ever again.
Imagine his reaction to the media trying to get a juicy "where are they now???" story off of them, and the inevitable "Deku is Quirkless" shit show of questions...
Paparazzi stopping them on the street asking if there's any way OFA can come back, and they can see him in the field again "in his former glory", and "what are you doing now that you've been forced to retire from Herowork??"
Katsuki flinging himself between them and a stuttering Izuku, grabbing the mic and yelling "Does he look like he has fucking retired?! His glory is just fine!! Fuck off!"
Izuku being surprised at first, but in a way endeared. Moreover, appreciates how efficient Katsuki is at shutting down the media vultures that still swarm the two of them even years after the battle. It takes a lot of the mental and emotional load off of him when Katsuki comes at them barking instead of him having to compose the best, most polite statement for them that they don't deserve anyway, Katsukis Hard NO is a breath of fresh air.
"I can't believe I used to fucking sound like these morons..." Katsuki would complain in a hushed tone, fully aware that he used to sound a bit worse, in fact. His thumb traces back and forth over Izuku's hand, squeezing just lightly, as if to non-verbally say, "I'm still sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" to him.
And Izuku would just softly laugh and squeeze back, telling him that it was all ok.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE UR DARK ZACK AU!!! everything i’ve seen about it so far just has me so !!!! its so good. and would love to hear more about it :)
ooooooughhh dark!zack my darling sweetie angel love of my life
admittedly i don't have much of a plot going for them rn LOL just jingling them like keys in my brain
It's a Zack who decided he's sick of being a doormat. Being friendly and giving people the benefit of the doubt is what led to Shinra ripping away the most formative years of their lives.
For a long time, Zack tried to uphold his code of ethics, in spite of all the violence. At first he told himself it was just to protect Cloud... but over time, the more people he had to kill, the more it dawned on him that they will never be able to return to a normal life.
Once he stopped trying to make excuses, he found himself quite enjoying his new identity as a terrifying ex-SOLDIER fugitive. Things are much simpler now that he's free of moral obligations! People finally take him seriously, nobody bosses him around, he has control and it's SO addicting.
Now don't get him wrong, he's not a psycho killer, he just... happens to, um, murder people that get in his way.
