The Journals of Evander Tailor is a great series. It's a very competent take on a very classic progfan approach to a magic school story.

There's cozy gay romance and trans rep, both done really well. There's loads of magic theory, and a plot that escalates bigger and bigger as the series goes on.

I can only recommend this
