Just because you don't have a "thing" to show for all your hard work, does not mean you weren't working very hard. Plenty of things like clarity, knowledge, or balance, are not tangible, but very worthwhile

It will forever be hilarious to me that Disney wanted so fucking bad to make a Wicked movie — but couldn't get the rights from Universal — that they literally spent billions upon billions of dollars making SEVEN different films (and a whole season of television; not even including their sequels and spinoffs) more than one of which they even got Idina and Kristen to be in based on the stripped-down premise of "what if the Stock Female Antagonist™ was secretly the Misunderstood Angsty Girlboss Heroine™ all along?" (because Disney execs don't actually care about Wicked, they just saw Green, said "hey! if we can't get the real thing, why not use Our Own (and/or Public Domain) characters?" and simply followed the Marketing Department Road all the way to the bank).

Less funny is the fact they were so successful at it — regardless of the merits (or lack thereof) of any of those projects — that it ended up getting the production of the actual Wicked movie delayed by more than a decade (because it would ironically have looked like a copycat and probably faded into the background if it had come out back when Disney was pumping out knockoffs every fucking year).

I kind of enjoy making little blog posts sharing (romanticising) my life a bit, so here's my morning!

I've been making compote for my oats out of fruit I've been gifted/picked so it doesn't go off, this one tastes slightly like onions because I didn't wash my chopping board well enough after just making soup... but it's...still good. Anyway I am very melancholy about the season changing so I decided to make time to go out and paint before it gets too cold!

The footpath had been plowed over and it was so tiring climbing over these massive ridges to get to the forest, but someone has to make it a path again I guess. Also, I decided to document the awful stage in every painting that I was VERY unsure I'd be able to get past this time. It's nice to know that it worked out!

I made a gurney style easel (so it attaches to a tripod) and I was very pleased it actually worked, with...some adjustments (velcro) to cover my failings. [thank u for commissioning me >:) this is what I was getting stuff for]

I'm pretty happy with it, the light moved loads and I lost my initial impression, but it still has the vibes! I also saw a squirrel run over that central branch which was so cute...

Spotting other points I was like 'damn, I wanna paint this too'- but I actually chose somewhere entirely hidden bc I was quite scared I'd make a mess of it and someone might see. (I've seen like...one person here ever, in years. Still.)

Hometime + big lunch because I was fucking starving lmao. The whole setup fits quite neatly into/onto my backpack which i'm pleased abt!

The radio silence has been worrying, but I know to give the team time. I just wish we got an update on it, or some sort of status on the project.

Just some clarity after the episode has already been delayed a few months would be nice.

This isn't a call to harass the team, don't do that. This is me acknowledging the restlessness I've started to see me and others experience.
