It occurs to me (thanks to this post popping up on my dashboard again) that the Flash has established that Barry and Iris have been friends since they were 9, but also that Barry has loved Iris since they were 10 (this latter point is stated quite a few times, but also in the wedding crossover)

This means it wasn't insta-love, like I initially assumed—rather, they were friends for a good while, and he fell for her over the course of their first year (or at least first few months) of friendship.

Thoughts on the different Patrochilles dynamics in the Iliad/ tsoa/ Hades/ aristos the musical? Do you have a favourite between those

Oh man what a tough question!!! I honestly love any and all different patrochilles portrayals, I feel like they all have a unique twist that makes their dynamics fresh and interesting and touches upon a different aspect of their characters.

TSOA, as the first patrochilles work that gave me severe brainrot (and still does), has a special place in my heart ngl. I really love how playful they both are and how you can like, feel the love and the intensity of their bond and how they're best friends and also lovers and just, everything to each other. (And I also feel like my own version of Patroclus that I write is very much TSOA inspired for the most part, it's the blueprint for a lot of my works.)

Aristos the musical patrochilles is sooo good, I feel like it's also close to the TSOA characterisation but with its own unique twist. I freaking love how playful they are, how much they keep joking around and laughing even until the end, like that's the essence of patrochilles for me, they're so silly your honour 🥹

Iliad Achilles is a lot more abrasive and bossier than the previous two versions, but it’s also a side of him I love a lot. Like he’s a force of nature and you can see that with every word he says and everything he does (as MM wrote, he is such a flood). Iliad Patroclus is also straight up the biggest trash talker among the Achaeans lmao he absolutely roasted Hector and we love to see it 👏👏 I am deeply inspired by their OG Iliad versions and I often go back and reread their interactions and the scenes they appear in, like all of Homer's work they are incredibly nuanced and there are so many new elements to pick up on every reread.

Hades patrochilles also has a lot of elements that I like. I adore soft spoken depresso Achilles, and also sharp tongued depresso Patroclus haha. Their portrayals are both very interesting, even though I don't think I have been as inspired by Hades as by the other versions mentioned, sadly. Nothing against Hades at all, I just haven't gotten any specifically Hades-universe story ideas or anything yet and I'm not sure if I will? But I still enjoy their dynamics a lot, as well as their chemistry with the rest of the Hades cast, and their relationship is one of the reasons why Hades is one of my favourite games.

Something I have been meaning to ask in hindsight who do you think Henry's "best friend" was? I know this is a fairly modern concept and King's would of thought he was only equal to other Kings. But, something about Brandon being given this honour when we also have Compton does not sit quite right.

Glenn Richardson had an interesting insight into this question (that I haven't seen replicated or cited much, really):

The letter’s many pointed references to Wolsey as the king’s friend were intended primarily to remind its recipient of his duty. Yet, although full of angry sarcasm in the moment, Henry deployed them sincerely, and the letter may plausibly be read as evidence that he really did genuinely think of Wolsey as his friend, as well as his servant, and in a way very different from almost anyone else. Diplomacy with Francis I aside, the only other person whom Henry is recorded as calling his friend, on paper at least, was Anne Boleyn.

But assuming you mean male friends, I would say different eras mark different men having the most confidence with Henry. Of friends that were his 'earliest' companions, and were covert or overt supporters of CoA and Princess Mary; there were few survivors (Edward Neville, Henry Courtenay, Henry Pole, etc); and some that survived but lost favour, whether temporarily or otherwise (William Fitzwilliam, Geoffrey Pole, etc). And of friends that were strong supporters of Anne Boleyn, either by kinship or friendship, there were also few survivors (George Boleyn, Henry Norris, and Francis Weston all seem to have enjoyed close friendships with Henry, the former two the strongest, arguably), and likewise (Cranmer, Richard Page, etc).

We can view Suffolk as having survived the political culls by expressing loyalty towards Henry above all others; Compton he was probably closer to as you said, and then Norris inherited that confidence. Heneage he doesn't seem to have been as affectionate towards.

Among friends/advisors, those that Henry seemed to have the most fervent concern for during their illnesses were Wolsey, Anne Boleyn, and Cromwell.

If we're including friends of spiritual authority, I would say Wolsey and Cranmer, if we're limiting to secular power, I would say Compton, Brandon, Norris, and Denny were his closest friends.
