Could you do heavy angst with Father!Number One!Izuku with his little girl? You can decide whatever for the child, really!(but personally I prefer daughter) So, since Izuku is the number one, Y/N is probably the one mostly taking care of their kid. What if there was this huge accident that killed Y/N because the heroes were too late to detain the villain? Plus points if Izuku was the hero assigned. So ever since the death, Izuku is suddenly the caretaker and tries his absolute best to make his kid happy but fails since the kid absolutely loathes him for being absent and for being too late to save their mother. What do you think Izuku will do?? So, yeah!! It's up to you if this isn't weird</3

Izuku was always infatuated with you, your beauty, your strength, how compassionate and caring you were. He thought you were just neat. You didn't have a quirk yet like him you still made it into UA. You were pretty smart and tried hard at everything you did. He admired you for that, he watched you closely and studied you. Not in a creepy way, but in a "I'm in love with you, notice me" way.

In your second year you'd finally taken a liking towards him, he was quite cute despite his odd haircut. You understood it was due to the trouble he went through in the war, he was strong reliable and terrifyingly selfless. Izuku midoriya was a great guy and you had really liked him, the two of you started going on sweet little dates together, walking in the park sharing an ice cream, going to the movies to see whats new, going to a carnival with some friends and sneaking off alone.

Those were the days izuku wished could've lasted forever, where nothing was wrong, peace was restored and everyone was happy. But as life does. It moves on. The world changes right before tour eyes and before you know it, it's been 8 years. The two of you are still happily together in fact married now, and expecting. Izuku and you had gotten out of college a couple years ago, he became a pro and you were in charge of the Deku Foundation. A silly name for a silly little guy.

Izuku was a family guy, he didn't see his father much growing up so he knew this was what he wanted. He wanted to assure to you, the mother of his unborn child, and to his unborn child that he would be there, always and forever. He held you at night and made you breakfast in the morning, he wasn't always there to eat it with you but he made sure to leave adorable little notes for you to feel special, you kept busy doing work for his company, exercising to try and reduce stretch marks and baby weight in the future, and cooking for fun. It was hard being pregnant but it was worth it. Is what you'd say.

Izuku could never forget the moment you had his baby. Those were the absolute happiest moments in his life, no doubt about it. Watching his baby leave from your birth canal, he seen the way you screamed in agony with the final push. He was so mesmerized by it all, his wife just gave birth to his... beautiful babygirl.

“congratulations, mr and mrs midoriya, it's a girl.”

When the doctors gave you your baby, he watched closely as she stopped crying immediately at the contact of your skin, your soft voice shushing her sounds away, he pleas and cries powering down as she calmer herself. Its like you were a magical being, izuku was so enamoured with it, with you. With his new baby.

Holding her for the first time was his dream, it was even better than he could've possibly imagined. He sighed and tried to hold back tears, yet they fell asleep if a water faucet was left on, he sniffled and hiccupped as he tried to hold her closely, he took off his shirt so she could feel that skin to skin contact that babies are supposed to love. He read a book about parenting, of course the book would've been better for you to read because it was how to prepare for child birth but either way; it worked.

This moment, truly was the happiest one yet; but as life does. It moves on. And before he knew it 6 years had passed, you're beautiful babygirl was in first grade! She was making friends learning a lot and laughing and playing like kids her age should. She loved the outdoors and loved animals, she enjoyed small things like butterflies and rabbits. She was such a vibrant little girl, a splitting image from izuku too, mind the couple of genetics of yours that had shined through. Izuku loved his girls so much, watching the way you two played together, when you did her hair, read to her, his favorite thing of all was to watch you to crochet.

It was so calming, you would hold her close and show her carefully how to apply the yarn, teaching her how to swap colors smoothly and humming gently to her. Izuku watched you both closely, he's a very observant man, with that being said watching his girls was hos favorite thing to do. It's like you two were a show he could never get tired of, a program that was played just for him.

Izuku was a pro now and as much as he loved you both, he had a job to do. One that he couldn't fail, it ate him away that hr couldn't just sit with his girls all day long. Listen to little stories his baby has to share about her day at school. As much as he disliked it, he would even love to listen to his wife rant on and on about a little dream she had the other night, how the washer was in the kitchen instead of the laundry room and looked like an oven instead. Such odd dreams you had.

Izuku hadn't even realized it, but he had been spending more and more time at his agency, accidentally sleeping there and coming home 4 hours before he had to go back up there. It was tiring, he was tired, yet he had a job to do. And he wouldn't fail. You two started seeing less of him, it saddened your daughter deeply yet you tried to remind her constantly that he is a hero, and heroes have jobs to do. She would nod and give you a smile still laced with disappointment, sadness.

What really pissed you off was when he promised your little girl he'd be there for her science fair, yet didn't show. She won and everything, he promised her he'd help with making it. Whoops he couldn't do that because he was working. No matter! He apologized so you both just slid it off. However this was the last straw for you. Driving home you were furious, seeing your little girl in the mirror with a frown as she fiddled with her ribbon.

You stayed up late that night. Assuring that you'd catch him, and once you did you two argued. Which is something you'd never done, of course you two would bicker and disagree on things, but this was unlike those times. You were both yelling and had possibly woken up your daughter, but neither of you could care. Too blinded by your own fury, you had banished him and he left without a word. Without a second thought, without looking back.

“ I wish I looked back.... I wish I would've apologized, I wish I could've been there when she needed me; when they needed me... ”

That was the last time he'd seen you alive.

It was a normal day for the most part, besides the fact that you two had argued two nights before and hasn't spoken since. Izuku hadn't seen his daughter nor spoken to her either, it was eating away at him but he didn't have time to focus on that right now.. he was getting a signal from one of his sidekicks out on patrol.

“ deku! We need you! There's been an accident! There's a huge fire breathing villain who's trapped a woman and her daughter!”

A woman and her daughter.... That had to be a coincidence. It was, it had to be. Tons of people have daughters and just so happen to be women as well. Hell, he bets it's not even her daughter!!

“its- it's your wife...”

A loud scream was heard on the sidekicks line, izuku was terrified, he moved without even thinning jumping out of the nearest window zooming through the air trying to reach you. So many things going through his mind, why were you out? What were you doing? You never go out, why now! Why was his daughter there?

He was trying his damnedest to reach you, he couldn't help but feel like time was slowing down. Like he wasn't fast enough, meanwhile in actuality he was moving faster than the speed of sound. So why wasn't he there yet? He groaned in annoyance at this, he couldn't shake the terrible shrieking sound that came from the other line.. it terrified him.

“ come in! Is everything alright?! What's the situation?! ”

“i...”

“ what?! what is it, spit it out?! ”

“ I'm sorry... ”

Sorry? Sorry for what? Why the hell was he saying sorry? The only question izuku could find himself wondering. Upon arriving he sees people running, fire burning everywhere and debris filling the air, he coughed through the smoke putting on his mask and zooming through the thick fog. He found his sidekick, no wonder his voice was so hoarse and dry, he had collapsed and passed out. Izuku took him to the nearby ambulance that was present before going back through the smoke to find you.

Other heroes were arriving on scene and searching for other civilians, trying to get them out while others tried taking down the villain, he was huge and was not going down without a fight. Izuku couldn't even try to worry about the villain, you and his daughter were his main focus.

“ daddy! Please help us! ”

The sound of his daughter wailing with a cracky voice, it shattered his heart he followed the sound of crying until he found the two of you, your daughter by your side holding your arm tears falling down her reddened cheeks, she was dirty and covered and muck. She also just so happened to be covered in...blood.

“ princess... what.. what happened.. ”

His daughter ran into his arms bursting into even more tears hiccuping and sobbing. Her cries were loud and full of sadness anyone within a mile radius could tell and even hear, izuku picked you up in his arms not even taking the time to assure you were okay, not checking a pulse or to see if you were breathing. He just swooped you up in his arms bridal style and had his daughter on his back, telling her to cover her mouth. He zoomed through the smoke and handed you both over to the ambulance, they were quick to ail you both.

Izuku was soon to go help the other heroes in scene but first he looked back to you, to see them giving you air and performing CPR, his eyes widened and just as he was about to go back over to you, he tried to rush to your side before being caught by none other than..

“ deku, c'mon we need you. ”

“ kach- erm- dynamite. I can't, I have to— ”

“ come. on. ”

The fiery blonde yanked the large green haired male by his suit and dragged him back into action, he thought this was for the best. Leaving your side this last time to finish slaying this beast.

The fight was over and everyone who had been injured was taken to the nearest hospitals, the villain who had caused all of this trouble was taken into custody and was going to be behind bars for a long time. During the fight people could tell izuku was letting out pent up steam on the villain, he could've killed him. He was sure of it, everyone was. He had be pulled off in order for him to stop. You were hurt and his daughter could've gotten hurt. Izuku felt the villain deserved far much worse than to be behind bars. But at least he was rotting.

Izuku went to see you in the hospital, waiting for hours on end, pacing back and forth a million things on his mind. His daughter had been released a while ago, she was fine apart from the smoke inhalation. He couldn't believe she didn't have a single scratch on her, but he was glad and very much thankful. She sat in the nearest seat taking it easy, watching izuku pace around before finally, some news..

“ mr midoriya— ”

“ what- what's going on is my wife okay?! what's the problem, can I go and see her?? ”

“ I uhm... ahem. I'm afraid I have some bad news.. Mr midoriya. ”

Izukus expression fell, his eyes widened yet his face was completely blank. His heart dropped and completely shattered at the words the doctor said to him. His daughter immediately broke down. Tears were brimming in his eyes, he was borderline shaking in his red boots. He felt bile rising in his throat, the burning sensation making tears fall. They fell and never stopped. He held his daughter close that night. Never letting her go. He was afraid if he did... She might leave him.

“ I see. and how does that make you feel?”

“ ... are you seriously asking me how my dead wife makes me fucking feel. ”

“ yes. It's been 9 years, you've retired from hero work and have been seeing me for quite some time yet we never seem to talk about her. ”

Fuck... 9 years had completely flown by him. He hadn't even realized.. you'd been gone for 9 years....

“ I... I.. ”

“ your daughter will be a freshman at UA this year, correct? How does that make you feel? Have you checked in with your daughter? Have you asked how she's been? How has she coped with her mother's death? ”

Izuku was speechless. 9 years had passed, he can't seem to remember much and his daughter.. the last piece of you he has, is starting school at the very high school you two met at. Where did the time go...

Synopsis: When his wife is sent to missions over and over until it visibly gets to her, Gojo decides to do something against it.

Your heavy footsteps echo through the dark hallways of your apartment, eyelids hanging heavy in your face. That was a rough mission. The how many? You lost count at 20. It seems like all you do is exorcise, eat, sleep a few hours and repeat everything. You loved being a jujutsu sorcerer by heart, it is a great honor for you to be able to help people this way. But nights like this, when you don’t get to enjoy the warmth of your own home until well after midnight, it really gets to you.

“There you are honey, what took you so long?”

But no matter how rough the mission was, no matter how late you come back, this one person is always there to greet you with a cup of hot tea and a shoulder to cry on. After all, your husband knows well enough how it feels to carry the burden of being a strong jujutsu sorcerer. With the slight difference that he is in fact the strongest.

“Oh, y’know…Things got a little heated, had some new students by my side to watch. One of them got injured so I stayed with him and Shoko until he was well enough to survive the night. Tomorrow I’ll have to leave pretty early in the morning”, you explain briefly, barely able to formulate a straight sentence.

Satoru’s eyes scan over your bruised and feeble looking body. How many missions in a row do you have to endure until these old farts decide to give you a break? You are an outstanding jujutsu sorcerer, probably better than anyone else at Jujutsu High apart from himself. And you have a heart of gold – too good for these people. They use you and you don’t seem to mind as long as you help the weaker and your students out. Normally Gojo admires you for composure, endurance and strength. But haven’t you given enough? Even the strongest need rest from time to time.

“I don’t like the way they are treating you. You are pushed from mission to mission, (y/n). This can’t go on like this, I haven’t really seen you for days. You’re only home to sleep and eat something from time to time.”

You let yourself fall in his lap, instantly greeted by his strong arms. Oh, it feels so good to be back where you belong – in the embrace of your beloved husband.

“You know it yourself: the worst part about being strong is that no one ever asks if you’re okay”, you sign.

He presses a gentle kiss on your forehead, but his body tenses under you. Satoru already told you multiple times that it can’t go on like this. And even though you secretly agree with him, you see no other way. The people need you, as well as your students. Maybe it just isn’t part of the job to have many breaks.

“But I do. And I care about my wife’s wellbeing more than about Jujutsu High itself. I will talk to them. I can’t watch anymore.”

“Satoru.”

Your tired eyes lock with his. You had this talk over and over. Even though you really appreciate his concern, you don’t want him to use the power he has for you.

“You know what I think about that, please don’t.”

“But baby, I really miss you! You lost a fair amount of weight, you sleep maybe 8 hours a week and are constantly worn out. It can’t go on like this. I know that this isn’t a job but your passion and that you refuse to let anyone down, but at the moment, you neglect yourself the most. You need to be your own priority. And if you don’t want to stand up for yourself, be sure that I will. Because I love you with all my heart and I promised to be there for you.”

You really don’t deserve him. Satoru looks after you like no other, his six eyes always set upon you. How can a woman be so lucky and call him her wife? To be honest, you still have no clue why he chose you. Was is because you are strong? Or because you’re smart? Maybe it was for your looks, but there are tons of beautiful women on this earth. You hug him a little tighter.

“I love you, Satoru”, you breathe out, small smile hanging on your lips while your mind slowly drifts away.

Sleep. Sleep sounds good at the moment. Maybe you can rest your eyes for a few seconds…

“(y/n), are you still with me?”

No reaction. The air is only filled by your soft and monotone breathing. He smiles at you tenderly, hands wrapped around your knees and back in order to carry you into the bedroom where you belong. He knows you hate it when he stands up for you, stating that he shouldn’t use the power he holds as the strongest to send you into vacation. Although being married to him, you want to stay independent in your job. Oh, what a great catch you are. But this can’t go on like this.

He lays your passed out body gently on the bed and tucks you in, thumb gently caressing your cheek. How is it possible that even after 2 years of marriage, he still admires your beauty like on the first day he met you at Jujutsu High? No matter how tired and worn out you are, no matter that your body is marked by your work. You must be the most beautiful woman in this world – externally and internally.

Satoru’s hands ball into fists. And that is exactly why he has to do something against this madness. You might be tender, sacrificing selfless, but he is certainly not when it comes to you. They won’t get away with this.

You know that look on his face all too well. It doesn’t sit right with him that you leave, especially this early. But you have no other choice. These people need you, as well as your students. When you became a jujutsu sorcerer, you knew it would be hard work and that you have to put your own needs on the back burner. Oh, how much you’d love to spend a day with your husband at Jujutsu High, finally teaching the young how to use their abilities again.

But this is your destiny now. And if you can make your contribution with that, you will simply endure it.

“Don’t know when I’ll come home. I text you when it’s over. Love you”, you place a small kiss on his cheek and take in his scent one last time before you leave again.

Satoru puts on his uniform and makes his way to Jujutsu High. Fuck your determination and prohibitions. He doesn’t care about those anyway. The only thing that’s important to him at the moment is your well-being.

“You’ve got some nerve”, he starts, bursting into the room where Yoshinobu Gakuganji, Masamichi Yaga and some other old farts are gathered on the floor, gazing at him with nothing but annoyance in their eyes.

“You can’t just barge in here like that”, Gakuganji comments.

“I really don’t give a fuck. How is it that my wife has been sent on missions without a break for months? Find someone else to do your dirty work”, Satoru hisses, face visibly irritated even though he’s wearing his blindfold.

“She never complained though. You know yourself that jujutsu sorcerers don’t grow like grass in a meadow. She’s efficient, sturdy and straightforward. She’s old enough to take care of her own, Satoru”, Yaga replies dryly.

Is this for real? Again, Satoru’s hands ball into fists, whole body on fire. Are they actually listening to themselves?

“Yeah, she never complained because she literally never does, boneheads. That was her last mission for time being, otherwise I’ll torch the whole place here. Never forget that it’s my wife we’re talking about.”

“You would never do that”, Utahime remarks.

“Don’t. Test. Me.”

“This is my last warning. Put her back as a teacher, which is actually her main job in this rat hole. If something like that happens again, I’ll make your life living hell. Mark my words.”

And with that, Gojo storms out of the room, leaving everyone in awe. They have never seen him this serious and angry. Maybe you really do need a break.

“I have to say…(y/n) worked her ass off over the last few weeks, more than any other jujutsu sorcerer…”, Gakuganji throws into the room.

“You can’t imagine what happened!”, you yell through the whole apartment, a smile creeping up Satoru’s face.

“I bet you’ll tell my in just a second”, he replies.

“I’ve got some time off, no mission in sight! And I will get to finally teach again. God, I really miss the students”, you groan, letting yourself fall into Satoru’s arms.

“What a lucky coincidence. They must have finally realized that you are working yourself up.”

“Don’t fool me, I know exactly that you have something to do with this. Even though I told you not to.”

“(y/n), I would never do that! As a good husband, I would never in a million years even think about doing something you told me not to do!”, he dramatically announces.

“You threatened them, didn’t you?”

“Well, y’know. I told them a few things”, he admits with a sly smile

You want to be mad at him for disregarding you, but you simply can’t. Deep within, you are way too relieved over a good amount of sleep that you can even think about lashing out on him for helping you.

“Please tell me you weren’t mean.”

You wrap your arms around his large frame and kiss him passionately. God, how much you missed this. Finally you are able to enjoy time with your husband again, to wake up next to him in the morning and snuggle up to him, no following mission lingering through your mind. Only now you realize how tired and worn out you actually are. If it wasn’t for Satoru you’d probably break down rather sooner than later. Maybe you really need to stand up for yourself more…

“Oh, I was. But I don’t want to think about these old farts right now. Let’s go to bed instead.”

“Nothing better than that”, you mumble against his chest while sleep consumes you all over again.

Aragorn would treat your scars with great respect and never ask any questions about them, knowing they could potentially hurt you. It is no great deal for him though; he doesn’t think less of you for having scars!

Arwen would have a silent fascination for your scars, as Elvish healing powers make it impossible for Elves to develop scars. She’d let her fingers ghost over them if you let her but never speak of them, unless you want to.

Boromir bonds over your shared scars. He’d tell you battle stories for every one of his. In turn, you could tell him yours. He’d find it charming to hear you’d been a wild child like he!

Elrond does not talk about your scars or even look at them, until you would initiate a conversation about them. He just accepts you have them, possibly thinking of the wounds they once were and how he would’ve treated them.

･ﾟ✧ Éomer.

Éomer would worship your scars, no matter how you got them – through work, fun, or battle. I like to imagine scars carry a deep meaning in Rohirrim culture. Éomer would go on and on about how Human they make you, as opposed to an Elf with healing powers. He would be sensitive if someone had hurt you, causing the scar.

Just like her brother, Éowyn would show great respect and admiration for your scars. But unlike him, she wouldn’t push the topic, knowing that you could have potentially emotional memories to them. If someone had caused you a scar by hurting you, she’d curse that person.

Faramir is the kind of person to place deliberate kisses on your scars. He knows how insecure they can make one feel about their body, and he will have none of it with you – you’re gorgeous just the way you are ♡

Frodo has a very casual attitude toward scars. He accepts that you have them and doesn’t pull the attention onto them. He would probably ask you about them, after a long night you’ve had at the Green Dragon, but he’d always stay respectful and considerate – he’s a gentleman after all!

I imagine Galadriel having an almost morbid curiosity about scars and their place in the Human system of healing and mortality. She’d ask if she can take a closer look at them, talking about them, and even has clothing or headwear made for you that shows them off.

Gandalf would casually ask you where you got your scars from, as an attempt to normalise conversation about them. If you signal him that you would rather not talk about it, he’d let it be, but otherwise, you could have a deep conversation about them with him. Should you wish to have it removed, he would cook up a spell that could do that.

･ﾟ✧ Gimli.

Dwarves think highly of scars, as they symbolise both brashness and hard work. Gimli is no different. Should you ever feel insecure about your scars, he’d happily show you his and assure you that there is nothing shameful about them, with a big grin!

･ﾟ✧ Haldir.

Haldir avoids even glancing at your scars. He is both polite enough to not stare and troubled about the implications – Humans cannot heal the way Elves do. He could lose you to a wound that wouldn’t even be an issue to an Elf, and he cannot stand that thought. He also wracks his brains about someone having hurt you, as opposed to simply asking about it.

Legolas would take the issue of your scars very lightly. That also means he could potentially bring up hurtful memories, since the concept is so new to him. However, if you told him that, he’d immediately apologise and distance himself from the subject.

Merry thinks your scars are super cool! He’d be the first in line to say things like, “They make you look adventurous!” Depending on how sensitive you are about them, he’d tone it down, of course. Still, he’d rather have you with them than without.

･ﾟ✧ Pippin.

Pippin probably has a bunch of scars himself, being both clumsy and a troublemaker. He’d ask you about your scars in a way that turns into a ‘ping pong’ game, with you taking turns with the stories you want to share with the other.

Sam has a big scar himself that he is rather insecure about. Bonding with you helps him accept that part of his body – though he would still blush how he got it, having defended Rosie Cotton from some ruffian at the Green Dragon.

The feast of Santa Lucia, in Italy, is a journey through popular traditions, from Sicily to Calabria

Santa Lucia (Saint Lucy) is celebrated in Italy on 13 December.

Santa Lucia was, according to the hagiographies which are our only sources, a young girl from Syracuse in Sicily. Born in 283, she died during the persecutions of the Christians under Emperor Diocletian in 304, on December 13th.

The Life of Saint Lucy

As a young woman Lucy was promised in marriage to a pagan. Christians, like Lucy, were at this time still very much a minority in Syracuse.

However, on a pilgrimage to visit the tomb of St Agatha, Lucy had a vision of the saint which was to change the direction of her life. Agatha spoke to Lucy telling her she would cure her mother’s illness (internal bleeding), which she did. After this experience Lucy knew she must dedicate her life to Christ. She made a vow to remain a virgin to better serve her purpose.

On her return to Syracuse, Lucy told her mother of her decision to dedicate her life to Christ, as well as to give all her worldly possessions to the needy. Her mother was at first, (perhaps naturally) sceptical. But eventually it seems she was won over by Lucy’s faith and determination. Over the following years Lucy’s fame in dedicating her life to the poor spread throughout Syracuse and further afield. The young man who wished to marry her, seeing Lucy give all her money and possessions to the poor, and having been refused, decided to denounce her to the town prefect as a Christian. For some time the Roman Empire had felt threatened by this growing Christian “cult” and wanted a display of Rome’s continuing might and power. Lucy was a well-known figure in the community. If she could be forced to renounce her faith other Catholics might follow her. This was the thinking of those who brought her to trial.

So, Lucy was brought to court, where she was accused of being dissolute and possibly of unsound mind too (this was still largely a pagan society where a person’s wealth and possessions were how they gained status in life). It was to be a public trial, so that the humiliation of Lucy could discredit her religion and serve as a warning to other Christians.

At one point the judge Paschasius mocked Lucy for her virginity and said that she would be taken to a brothel, and here she would “lose her chastity” and then “the Holy Ghost shall depart from thee”. Lucy replied that her strength in God meant that 10,000 men would not be able to move her. When the judge put Lucy’s boast to the test this was found to be true – the men could not move her. The judge subsequently ordered for Lucy to be burned and a great fire was built. Lucy again stayed calm and asked for protection from the Lord, calling herself “a temple of God”. The fire was lit, but the flames did not touch her. Lucy told that crowd that persecution of Christians would not last much longer. Hearing her speak so eloquently the prefect was at his wit’s end and called out for anyone that could kill Lucy. Finally someone (probably a soldier) drew a sword and cut Lucy’s throat, which finally killed her.

Her first resting place was in the catacombs under Syracuse which now bears her name. This became the initial centre of her cult, which quickly flourished.

Patron of light and eye sight

Absent in the early narratives and traditions, at least until the fifteenth century, is the story of Lucia tortured by eye-gouging. According to later accounts, before she died, she foretold the punishment of Paschasius and the speedy end of the persecution, adding that Diocletian would reign no more and Maximian would meet his end. This so angered Paschasius that he ordered the guards to remove her eyes. Another version has Lucy taking her own eyes out in order to discourage a persistent suitor who admired them. When her body was prepared for burial in the family mausoleum it was discovered that her eyes had been miraculously restored. This is one of the reasons that Lucy is the patron saint of those with eye illnesses.

The idea probably came from her name Lucy, which derives from lux which is the Latin for light.

She became the patron saint of light and of eye sight. In artistic representations her attributes are two eyes on a plate in her hand.

Her feast day is the day of her martyrdom, December 13th, which in the Julian calendar is the winter solstice, and hence the shortest day of the year. It is therefore a celebration of the return of light.

The procession and rites in honour of Santa Lucia in Sicily and Calabria

Santa Lucia was born in Syracuse, a city in Sicily where the veneration of the martyr and patron saint is at the centre of fervent popular devotion. The celebrations reach their peak on 13 December, the date of her martyrdom, which occurred in 304 A.D. following Diocletian's Christian persecutions.

On this day, a solemn procession accompanies the Statue and Relics of the Saint from the Cathedral to the Church of Lucia al Sepolcro (Lucia at the Sepulchre), a route that is completed in reverse on 20 December. The Statue is a precious silver Simulacrum, dating back to 1599: the Saint wears a palm and a lily, symbol of purity, on her left hand, on her chest the reliquary with the Relics, on her throat a gem-studded dagger and in her right hand a plate with eyes.

The Statue is carried on people's shoulders along the streets of the historic centre, ancient Ortigia, and many devotees walk barefoot, amid flowers and burning candles.

December 13th marks a particularly heartfelt moment in Calabria, where devotion to the "Saint of Light" is intertwined with centuries-old traditions that combine Christian faith, folklore and ancient rites.

In Lamezia Terme (Calabria), the church of Santa Lucia stands in the upper and old part of Nicastro and for this reason the entire neighborhood takes the name of the saint.

Rectangular in shape, the church is modest in size with a very simple facade. The interior has a single nave and inside there are: a wooden statue of Saint Lucia, perhaps from 1700, which surmounts the marble high altar, the work of the sculptor Pergola (1970); a conciliar altar with bas-reliefs on wood and a sculpted ambo (1980), and in two special niches the statues of the Madonna and the Redeemer.

On the night of December 13th, Calabria comes alive with spectacular bonfires, a symbol of light and purification, which illuminate the squares and alleys of numerous towns.

The "Fireworks of Saint Lucia", in Crotone, are one of the most fascinating and evocative traditions of this day. Their origin dates back to ancient times, when they were lit to chase away the darkness of winter, recalling at the same time the image of the Saint and the solstitial rites.

The Hoshina clan of swordsmen has always been active in kaiju-killing since its origins, with its current members serving in the Defense Force or being close to it. The Hoshinas have been cultivating their personal blade style, this still being used by the family members on the battlefield against kaiju.

The Uzui clan of ninjas has always been active in assisting the Hoshina clan from the shadows, with a only few of its members serving the Defence Force and the rest being assigned as bodyguards for important people. The Uzuis had been cultivating their personal blade style, however, only select individuals can manage to fully exhibit its potential, thus encouraging its family members to focus on their technical skills in weaponry.

With the decline of the Uzui clan's prowess, the clan head has decided to engage his only daughter to the youngest son of the Hoshina clan. This is not only to honor the long-time friendship between both clans but also to keep their reputation.

"The members of the Third Division that managed to subjugate the kaiju are all being met with roaring applause from the civilians! Um... I repeat, the kaiju that appeared today has been subjugated. Everyone within the danger zone, please continue to watch out for auxiliary kaiju. I repeat..."

The sound from the television delivering the news about today's kaiju subjugation could instantly be heard as soon as one walks in the cafeteria.

Uzui Kagami stops moving and watches the news. The segment was already ending but she could still catch a glimpse of the members of the Third Division before it completely disappeared.

"As expected of Captain Ashiro, she could kill a level 6 kaiju by herself with such ease."

"You idiot, of course she could! She probably could even solo a level 9 kaiju with how strong she is."

Ashiro Mina, the Captain of the Third Division which has a rivalry with Kagami's division, the First Division. Despite being known as the strongest division of the Defense Force, famous even overseas for its exceptional power, majority of them still admire her, just like the rest of Japan. Cause who wouldn't admire such a brave and charismatic woman who doesn't hesitate in saving people and eliminating kaijus.

Kagami, herself, admires Ashiro Mina and consider her as a great role model. Though she feels even more inadequate when compared, there wasn't even a use to comparing in the first place. Captain Ashiro would definitely come to the top.

"Compared to Captain Ashiro who's naturally strong, I wonder how that person become a Platoon Leader with how weak she is." Just as she thought of that, Officer#1 did it.

"Shhh dont talk so loud or she might hear you. Though it's true that she's weak." Officer#2 supported his claims, chuckling a bit. Were they talking about her?

"With how many strong officers here, choosing her amongst us all is a like making the wrong decision ever." Officer#3 further exaggerated. Yes, they were.

Well, they weren't wrong. Each officer belonging to the First Division is estimated to have a released force of 40% or higher thus making them stronger than Platoon Leader class. Furthermore, each Platoon Leader within the First Division has the potential to become a captain. For a Platoon Leader, Kagami's released force is at 43% making her a part of the bottom tier of the rankings. It truly is a wonder how she got in this position, she doesn't know it herself.

"The three of you! Extra training starting this afternoon until tonight for disrespecting your superior!"

While she was pondering over her thoughts, neglecting to touch her food, she was brought back to reality by her fellow Platoon Leader, Shinonome Rin's loud voice.

"C-calm down, Rin-chan. It's alright. They didn't say anything wrong so let's not make a big deal out of this, okay?"

The sudden attention they were attracting was a bit too much for her heart. Why would her friend suddenly act like this?

"It's because you're like this that you're being disrespected! It is an even greater disrespect to the people who placed you in that position to question their decision!"

"I-i understand. Look, I'll even train them on your behalf. Let's just finish eating for now, hm?"

Scared, Kagami tried to compromise in order to finish it faster so that the attention could move away from them.

"Just make sure you don't half-ass it or else..."

"I promise."

With that, things have finally settled and they once again resumed their meal. Other than the fact that Kagami had already lost her appetite and had been forcing herself to finish her food without showing signs that she's forcing it, it was fine.

Being truthful to her promise, she welcomed the three officers who badmouthed her earlier to the training room right after lunch.

"I know you guys have a lot to say so you can let out all of your complaints during this training. However, I wouldn't hold back since I made a promise to Platoon Leader Shinonome not to do so. Well then, I wish you good luck."

The beginning of the afternoon started with screams and shouts until it turned to grunts and silence as soon as it turned night.

"Alright, we're all done with the training. Good job everyone for keeping up! I'll be heading out first so make sure to patch up, have dinner, take a bath, then rest, okay~"

Uzui Kagami left the training room as if she didn't just leave a stack of corpses... I mean a stack of exhausted officers behind.

"Who said Platoon Leader Uzui was weak again? She's practically a stamina monster not even letting us rest for a bit." Officer#2 groans.

"It was Officer#1. Comparing her with Captain Ashiro thus bringing up the topic." Officer#3 blamed Officer#1 for starting it.

"Don't blame this on me! You talked shit about her too! And how was I supposed to know that her innate strength is even stronger than the released power of the suits could give?" Officer#1 almost cried.

"Let's not underestimate her ever again" they all agreed.

"She's truly so kind, not only did she defend us from Platoon Leader Shinonome, she even told us to take care still even after we insulted her behind her back like that" she wasn't defending you, she just doesn't want attention to herself😤

They all collectively agreed that Platoon Leader Uzui Kagami was an angel amidst the devils of the First Division. Oh how guilty they felt when they insulted such a person. They finally realized why her squadron was so overprotective of her.

If only the person intended to hear their words remained a second longer, she would've heard it. If only she didn't just listen to all the negative things being said to her but also the good things like the compliments and praises her division, mainly her squadron, sings for her. Then maybe she wouldn't have made that decision.

The next day, it was finally her long awaited day off but this time she wasn't looking forward to it at all. Usually she would be happy having the day all to herself, however, today just wasn't it because it's a day full of with misery for her. She would usually fall asleep with a heavy heart but last night, she didn't get to sleep at all due to the mix of insomnia, overthinking, regrets, anxiety, self-deprication, and just whatever bad thoughts that keeps you up at night. It was a sign, a premonition that today would be one of the worst days of her life.

Early morning, she headed to the Uzui family's estate. If only time could stop, she even wishes for a kaiju to appear though she immediately regretted it due to guilt of wishing deaths to hundreds of lives of people. She just didn't want to go there as much as possible.

The Uzui family estate's main branch is a humongous traditional Japanese household maintained through various generations. It is said that her favorite ancestor gained this mansion from his master as a reward for his excellent feats back in Taisho era. A flamboyant shinobi who greatly contributed in killing kaijus since, along with his three wives and children, after suffering from a career-ending injury, lived in harmony. If only the same thing could be said in today's time.

Today, a family meeting is being held just like it did every month. She didn't have any choice but to attend as it her duty as the sole heir of the clan head which is something she dreaded the most.

The purpose of the meeting is to talk about the state of the estate, business and etc... In reality, the true purpose of this meeting is to pressure and persuade her to finally quit the force and get married. She's getting older so she needs to bear an heir before accidentally dying on duty.

In the first place, her family was against her joining the Defense Force after her mother's death. As there were no next heir candidate, her safety and wellbeing is more important than not.

The only reason they allowed her to join was because her fiancee, the current Vice Captain of the Third Division of the Defense Force, Hoshina Soshiro persuaded them. Back when they joined, he made a promise to her family that he'll stay by her side and protect her from harm. They placed greater trust in his words than hers so they relented. The only thing they didn't expect was for him to leave her and join the Third Division.

When that happened, they blamed her for not doing anything to stop him. They criticized his actions and how he betrayed their trust so on and so forth. But when he soon got promoted to his current position, they were like a bunch of leeches. Foxes they are for acting like they didn't do anything wrong nor talked behind his back.

Kagami is repulsed to see this side of her family. She knew her family well, after all, she grew up in this household. She was fine with them insulting, ignoring, beating her but she would never allow them to talk bad about her fiancee even if it meant another round of punishment awaits her.

She loves her family, she truly does. But she is also aware that how they kept treating her is wrong but she couldn't do anything about it. They have her on chokehold, shackles on her wrists and ankles. She was granted freedom but she's still chained to this place because she chose to do so.

She wants to preserve her family lineage as that was her responsibility drilled to her since birth. She does want to fulfill their wishes and demands but she couldn't. Just as she has a responsibility to her family, she also has a responsibility to her work and to her fiancee. She doesn't wish to throw any of that away even at the cost of her deteriorating mental health. Yet her family demands that she deem the rest unimportant and ignore their wishes to satisfy their own.

Sometimes she wishes that she was stronger than now. If she continued the act of being the perfect child, maybe she wouldn't be struggling. The failures she'd experienced kept on piling up and it was suffocating her. Her family knows this so they kept shoving it in her face, further bringing her down.

If she was stronger, she could prove it to them that she could do it all without sacrificing her happiness. She could be a proud member of the Defense Force without looking down on herself. She could be Soshiro's wife, something she wished to be ever since she was a child. She could bear his child and bring an heir to this family. But she couldn't.

She is weak and she knows this. The Defense Force doesn't need her. Soshiro doesn't need her. Her family doesn't need her. They only want to use her as a tool to fulfill their greed.

Kagami doesn't know for how long she could keep this up. They kept feeding into her brain thoughts she didn't want to hear, things that aren't real. It happened for so long that she believes it to be true. She was pathetic, useless, incompetent, a waste of space, and that everything that goes wrong was all her fault. And she believes it. Everything is her fault.

She often wonders why she kept struggling like this. She had already accepted for a long time that she had no right to do so yet she still hasn't relented. She blames herself for not giving her family the satisfaction of seeing her break.

The thing is... She felt crazy. Everyday, she's having a mental breakdown. Everyday, she felt like crying and just laying down on her bed. But acknowledging it meant that she's admitting to the people that she's a failure.

She's been an imposter for so long, pretending to be a good person in front of other people that she didn't really know what she is. Was she the useless child her family tells her she is? Was she the perfect person she tries to pretend she is? Was she the kind person she shows her comrades she is? Was she really as reliable a fiancee she thinks she is? Or was she just a recluse who wishes to hide from people? Someone unworthy of being by her fiancee's side? Just what is she?

All she knows at that moment is that she has to smile. Despite the sinking feeling on the stomach, the need to vomit out her system, scratch her skin from anxiety. Act like nothing bothers her. That's what her family taught her. She didn't know. Her mind is a mess. Her thoughts are scattered yet she still had to listen to her family's discussion.

"On that note, yesterday, the Third Division of the Defense Force neutralized a kaiju once more. What an amazing feat indeed!"

"Vice Captain Hoshina is truly amazing! Juzo-sama, you must be proud for having such a great son-in-law!"

"Of course, Soshiro is my true pride and joy! I've been waiting for a very long time to welcome him in our family."

When they noticed she wasn't replying to their taunts at all, they changed the topic of conversation. Well, of course she wouldn't be able to reply, it's already taking her all to not pass out. She looks at her father when he said that Soshiro was his pride and joy.

She remembered Uzui Juzo, her father telling her she was his pride and joy as a child when her mother was still alive. After she died, he became an entirely different person who blames her for her mother's death despite her not being involved at all. It was an accident during checkup that killed her mother and unborn brother. She wasn't there nor did she do anything that day. Yet she still accepted his wrath for he is her father.

It was fine if she's no longer his pride. It was fine if he punishes her for no reason. It was also fine if he insults her in front of other people when she's there. For as long as he respects her fiancee then she is fine. It's fine.

"Speaking of, when will the two of you get married, Kagami-sama?"

Once again, the focus was back to her.

"Soshiro-san is very busy with work and has no plans yet."

"We've already waited for years! Just for how long are you going to make us wait?!"

The same old questions. Why do they keep on rushing when they aren't the ones getting married? She respects her fiance's wishes since she knows he's not ready yet.

"Maybe the two of them aren't in good terms?"

"Is that true, Kagami?"

Juzo, her father asked her to which she immediately denied, cold sweat trickling on her neck.

"Not at all, father. Soshiro-san and I are in good terms"

He rubbed his beard in thought. They truly were in good terms, at least that's what she thought.

"As they say, it isn't about the length of the relationship. Perhaps Soshiro-sama just doesn't want to get married to her"

"I heard Soshiro-sama is in good terms with Captain Ashiro! Oh how great it must be for them both being powerhouses, they're really compatible! Have you seen how close the two of them were during yesterday's subjugation?"

"Even the media kept on saying how good the two of them look together! Meanwhile, Kagami-sama seemed to be closer to her Captain than her own fiance"

Shameless, Kagami thought. These elders kept on saying whatever they want.

"Captain Narumi is my superior. Our relationship is strictly professional"

"Is giving another guy a piggyback ride professional though? Just the thought of being touched by another man other than my husband gives me a scare, what more of someone who hasn't married yet?"

"Are you implying that I am cheating on my fiance?"

"I never said that, Kagami-sama! How could you accuse me of such a thing?!"

Pissed off, Kagami could no longer manage her expressions. Her eyebrows were twitching turning into a frown. The smile she kept up from the moment she arrived until now dropped. She loves her family but how could they such a thing?!

"That is enough! This meeting had long since steered off course. You are all dismissed. Kagami, stay behind"

Before it turned into a huge fight where Kagami could be punished once more for raising her hand against an elder, her father stopped them. His eyes were closed as he still rubbed his beard, deep in thought. One by one, those nosy elders left not without leaving her a sneer or a smirk. When it was only the two of them, her father opened his eyes.

"I will only ask you this once. What is you relationship with the Captain of the First Division?"

"Captain Narumi is just my superior, father. I've... been tasked with looking after him for he is a bit hard to manage"

"Why would a Platoon Leader like you take care of your Captain? Isn't it the Vice Captain's job to do so?"

"Vice Captain Hasegawa is an incredibly busy man who has to manage both of their works as Captain Narumi refuses to do so. It was him who told me to make sure that the captain does his work properly"

"And why is that?"

Kagami didn't know why her father was interrogating her like this. Their relationship is only platonic and strictly professional. Never did it cross her mind to cheat on her fiance with another man. She felt like anything she says will be used against her no matter what words she chooses.

"For he only listens to me..."

Biting her tongue, Kagami didn't know how her father will react. She was sweating buckets and her throat was dry, making it difficult to gulp. It got even dryer when she notices his eyes get sharper.

"Why would he be listening to someone like you?"

Looking down, Kagami felt hurt by how sharp his words were. Someone like her... doesn't even deserve to be heard. Just like how her words kept on entering her father's ear and leaving on the other.

"I don't know father"

"Are you sure you haven't been seducing him?"

Ahhh, there it is. The accusation that she'd been expecting.

"I have not, father. Our relationship is strictly professional. Captain Narumi and I do not have feelings for each other. He is also aware that I am engaged"

"How would you know if he has feelings for you or not? Someone as dumb and useless as you should even be glad that someone likes you, even though I do not see why he would do so"

"Bring that man here next weekend"

"May I ask why, father?"

"I shall see if he's fit to be the next head of this family"

With widened eyes, Kagami couldn't believe what she's hearing. Was her father implying what she think he is implying?

"Father, I have a fiance! Soshiro-san and I have been engaged since we were children! It was you who had decided that from the start so why..?"

"You already said it. You've been engaged since you were children yet until now there had been no progress in your relationship! Not only did you not seduce your own fiance, you have also seduced another man!"

His voice was gradually getting louder and it fills Kagami with fear. Her father never believed in her words, at all. He had already decided that she cheated when she did not.

"Consider your engagement to the Hoshina's void! Forget honoring our promise to each other when my own daughter have already shamed me over and over!"

Kagami crawled over to where her father is and clung to his clothes. Her father tried to pry her of him as he tries to leave but her grip was so strong. This can't happen. She can't let this happen.

"You can take everything away from me, just not Soshiro! Please! I'd rather let you kill me than let him leave me, father!"

She begged her father with tears falling from her eyes. She doesn't know what to do. Only letting her instincts do the work as she's already shut down from feeling anything. And her instincts are telling her to hang on, hold on to Soshiro.

"Please... I'll die, father. I will kill myself and bring this clan to ruin if you do so!"

When her tears turned to anger, she looked him in the eyes with such hatred she never thought she could feel. Soshiro is the only person that has been by her side this whole time, who keeps on supporting and encouraging her. She's been lost the whole time yet comes back everytime because he's there. He's her light, her hope, her entire life. She could endure all of the disrespect because he was there.

"You crazy woman! Is this how you treat your father after everything?!"

Using all of his strength, he slapped Kagami causing her to fall down the tatami floor with a loud thud, hitting her head. He stood up and kicked her body away from him, preparing to leave once more.

"You have never once treated me like your own child after mother died! You have never treated me like a human being and never respected my decisions! If you continue to take him away from me then i will truly go crazy and trust me you do not wish to see that"

She no longer clung to him and instead glared at him with much hatred, all the years of abuse coming out of her. Blood trickled down her face and the view made her father take a step back in fear when he looked back. She was filled with so much killing intent that her father almost peed in his hakama.

"Y-you... I'll give you one last chance. Leave the Defense Force and marry Soshiro at once. If you fail to do so, then consider your marriage and position in this family gone!"

He pointed his fingers at her and left without hearing her answer. If Kagami was in her right mind, she would never consider such a thing. She'd leave the family and still marry Soshiro but she wasn't. Her entire being is still chained to this family and she's drowning. With them forcing her under the water all the time. But this time, they crossed the line.

She's been running on adrenaline this whole time and once her father left, it all came crushing down on her. She lost her strength and laid on the floor, with her knees clutched to her chest.

Kagami wanted to cry. But tears were no longer coming out. She felt empty and broken. She should be used to this. Having everything taken away from her. She's been expecting them to take Soshiro away too but never expect herself to act like that.

She just want to see Soshiro.

How would the girls react to their RV!selves?? and/or how would the four of them (Charles, Edwin, Crystal, and Niko) react to their little gang's RV!counterparts?

Like... if all 8 of them interacted. (I just wasn't completely sure my phrasing actually made sense)

Well, Niko and RV!Crystal are supposed to be dead... But we can ignore that, I always do.

I think Niko would admire her RV counterpart, as she is a bit more "mature" and better at interacting with people (she doesn't enjoy doing it, but she can if it's required). RV!Niko would probably envy Niko's freedom, not coming from a family of people with spiritual powers. They both would be perfectly pleasant to each other.

Crystal HATES RV!Crystal, much like Charles hates RV!Charles. She reminds her too much of her past, of the person she was before meeting the boys, of all the cruel and awful things she has said and done. RV!Crystal probably dislikes that this version of herself has powers while she gets nothing. She has always wanted to be someone special, to be known for who she is, and yet, time and time again, she is reduced to her parent's child. She's nothing more than a glorified piece of art, at least this other Crystal has SOMETHING going on for her. At the same time, she's hopeful that, if Crystal could become a better person, so could she.

As for the two groups interacting, I imagine they would mostly avoid each other. If forced to work together, they're extremely efficient and do a great job together. If forced to interact in a more casual setting, it is bedlam. The Charles and Crystal's are at each other's throats, the Niko's try to be peacemakers but don't really want to get too involved, and the Edwin's do their best to stay out of the whole thing

He would be understanding and non restrictive and the perfect partner in fight. Communication is easy with him and he trusts you and gives you your space to be yourself. After all, its all these things that make him love you for you.

According to your opinion, what do you think would be SWK's best written romance or what would they be as for the adaptations? You know, not only does the romance appear and that's it, but does it develop or at least seem good to you?

Not to say there are bad romances, but I just wanted to ask.

Honestly, it depends on what you think is romantic.

There is a reason that the Chinese Odyssey is such a cult classic and it's not because they get together at the end, but rather because it explores the idea of self-expression and restricted freedom in the view of romance. Sun Wukong cannot exist unless Joker becomes him, and Joker cannot become Sun Wukong if he falls in love. He had the chance to love and he lost it, being forced to change who he is, knowing what he could have had. Chinese Odyssey became so popular because it explores what it means to sacrifice your own individuality and conform to societal expectations while still having slapstick humor.

And I won't lie and say that has also changed my view of romance with Wukong in that I do not think there can be a Retelling of Wukong where he gets with an SO. There can be great Reimangings or Alternative Universes (and there are) but if someone wants a faithful adaption of the story there can be additions such as adding a romantic subplot but in no circumstances can they end up together. And that could still be a good romantic story.

The quality of romance does not have to depend on a happy ending but one that relates to people and touches their hearts. I think the key to any romance is that connection to the audience, showing a level of genuine yearning and the struggle with that yearning that anyone can relate to when it comes to connecting to another person, romance or not.

Personally, I haven't seen a romance story done it better showing that desire for connection like Chinese Odessey since...

But I would say a close runner-up is the 1996 Journey to the West subplot within the show. As I think as far as relating to a character this is one that I found personally touched by.

In the 1996 Journey to the West is also not a one-to-one with the book as it follows more like a drama than an adventure story with deep character elements but still a wonderful adventure. This probably has the best tv live-action versions of the characters with just how in-depth they go with each character and we actively see them have their individual character arcs as they go from quarreling journeymates to a close-knit found family.

On one of these adventures they meet the Spider Sisters, but not all evil as one of the Sisters, Shishi, is trying to find her lost love from her past life. The gang helps her and Wukong RELUCTANTLY helps as well though he is distrustful of demons and sees no point in trying to find lost love. Shishi's sister, Enen, tags along as well and defends her sister's desire to find her lost love when to her, love is the most important thing in the world. But to Wukong he believes that learning Buddhism and teaching is what is most important. The more Enen and Wukong work together the more Enen falls in love with Wukong's compassion, heroism, and diligence, seeing him as someone to be admired and someone she wishes to impress as well.

The reason I adore this love story is that it is one-sided completely and I think that the narration does such a fantastic job of showing how much Wukong loves Enen has a friend and someone he cares about deeply but he just doesn't have romantic feelings for. I thought that the build-up of their relationship was fascinating in that Wukong comes to terms with seeing Enen as a good friend and someone who has changed his worldview that not all demons are after power, some are just living their lives, and just that knowing her platonically has made him a more compassionate person. But that is the issue in that Wukong's love for Enen is purely platonic and how he even refuses to compromise on his morals and lie to her that he feels the same when he loves her only as a friend.

Enen falls for Wukong because he is her friend and someone that she admires as well. She tries to become more like him by giving up meat and eating fruit and even trying to study Buddhism with him. She didn't do these acts because SHE wanted to, but rather so she could be closer to Wukong. But in the end (Enen loses her cultivation from a demon and asks Wukong to at least say 'I love you' before she turns back into her original form) she isn't able to make Wukong feel the same THOUGH NO FAULT OF HER OWN.

In my personal experience, I have felt this many times, when friends try to admit their feelings, and that soul-crushing burden of having to let them down gently. When you care about someone and are willing to support them or fight for them but the one thing you can't do is reciprocate their feelings. Wukong in this series is being hounded by both Bajie and Wujing to at least pretend for Enen's sake (she does uncultivated and returns to spider form but isn't dead) and when Wukong tells her that he does care for her but not in that way he is seen as the bad guy.

Enen did nothing wrong in falling for Wukong, but she wasn't able to accept that he just couldn't feel the same. And Wukong did nothing wrong in not feeling the same as he cares for his friend greatly but he cannot lie to himself or her how he feels because he respects her too much to lie. Bajie and Wujing both call him heartless but moreso that they feel so bad for Enen but Wukong is the one that has to carry the burden of her feelings for the rest of his life.

Some people might not see this as a love story at all but I think this is a type of love story that is very common and that people on both the receiving and the giving end can relate to. That dejection from rejection and opening your heart and thinking maybe if you change, or something is wrong with you, or that you are not good enough. That horrible feeling of guilt for things out of your control and not being able to give someone you deeply care about what they want and then feeling more guilt that there is something wrong with you for not feeling the same. I thought that the show has an advantage over movies as it gives the characters time and room to grow and change around each other. Wukong becomes more sympathetic to demons and even has a deeper understanding of the importance of love just by knowing Enen before she "died" and rather because she lived (and still lives) he still cares about her and wants her to live the best life she can.

Even in her spider form, even when she wouldn't be able to understand him, Wukong refuses to lie to her about his feelings but expresses that he wants her to live a good life, one that leads her to enlightenment and back to her human form. He cares so much about her but just not in the way that she wants. I think there is something very well done in how the show shows that it wasn't either of their faults and that while they can love one another you can't change people. People can only change if they want to change, and you can't force people to feel the same. There are different forms of love and each is important, and just because someone feels a different kind of love doesn't make it any less real.

To me, a love story is about connection and how the audience can feel themselves in the characters. Love can be scary and you're more often going to face rejection than anything but that doesn't mean it is anyone's fault. Sometimes people just don't feel the same, as much as they do care about you, and learning to accept that and let go is a part of growing up. As such I think that my favorite would be the 1996 subplot as I feel that is it both emotional and that it also still follows the Xiyouji format. Especially love Wukong going to the Red String of Fate guy (Yue Lao) and rewriting people's tragic love stories so they can live happily ever after!

I think that maybe I enjoyed this the most as I feel like it still captured Wukong's character wonderfully as someone who might not feel romantic feelings (following the book) but also someone who learns compassion and what it means to love another person. He knew what it was like for someone to love him and that is not something to be taken lightly. People being vulnerable and expressing their desire can be scary and something to be even admired but can still unavoidable cause pain. It wasn't his fault that he didn't like Enen back but he wanted her and even others to find that kind of love. He wants people to feel free to find comfort in connecting with another person even if it isn't himself.

That is to say, there aren't other romances that I did enjoy that are reciprocated love as well! Funny enough the ones that I really enjoy are all Japanese or based on the Saiyuki series.

I think the common factor of these is that Wukong in all these forms becomes a better person just by knowing their SO and take it upon themselves to become a better person, rather than the SO taking it upon themselves trying to 'fix' Wukong, I feel like that is an issue with a lot more modern romances of Wukong in that they are far too rushed, if Wukong does start off as a jerk then there is no real reason the SO should fall for him, and then Wukong doesn't stop being a jerk until the end when there is no proper resolution. It feels all very rushed and very forced.

I think that I enjoyed these versions mostly because they had the advantage of keeping the SO alive and they play on the trope of "changing for your loved ones" rather than "getting character development because of SO's death." We see Wukong in 1960 slowly relearn what it means to be humble and grateful to his SO Rinrin with her undying (literally) devotion and how this dedication leads to him wanting to be a better person deserving to be by her side. Monkey Magic 1998 is a surprising one but one that I found charming nonetheless as Goku is a hotheaded and impulsive person but everything he does is for his friends one being Fenya. They never confirmed their relationship but she is the only one who never treats Goku differently after he becomes the king and even when he demands her to call him as such she never lets him forget his humble roots which by the end he learns to return to. The last New Legends 2018 is also surprising as I really didn't enjoy the plot of this show and found the pacing painful, but that Monkey and Tripitaka's relationship was something that had a lot of potential. From Monkey's arrogant attitude and Tripitaka's deception of her true identity, I thought that the show handled them slowly but surely coming to trust and rely on each other. I feel like the show could do a lot more with their character development but I doubt we are getting a third season.

I will say a guilty pleasure of mine is Monkey King 2014 just cause it is more of an innocent childhood crush kind of feeling than anything else. I'm sad that she still dies but I feel like out of the Wukong romances I have seen (please note I haven't seen them all) I can see why the SO would fall for Wukong as he was nothing but sweet and kind to her and that I was sad to see her go.

hello quark! i've gotten to the szarr palace again in bg3 and am now super curious about tavish and astarion's thoughts about amanita szarr and vellioth! i imagine personally that astarion had no idea amanita even existed, and that finding out about vellioth's rules might give him a knee-jerk but ultimately conflicted rejection response—something about how those rules are why cazador treated him so poorly, so he rejects them on principle, but also his life experience has been such that he actually agrees with them... it'd be a tangle for him to try to work through, i think, but what about you? what are your thoughts?

I definitely agree that Astarion had no idea Amanita existed. That Cazador had turned a full vampire and then imprisoned her in their attic; that she was resisting her compulsions and defying Cazador's orders; that a powerful vampire hated Cazador as much as Astarion did? No way. No way does Cazador ever let Astarion or any of the other spawn even get a hint of her existence. I don't even know if she knew very much about them, actually; I think if she really thought there was someone she could help or someone she could ally with in this very lonely, isolated existence, her journal entries wouldn't have been quite so despairing.

(Sidebar: I adore the tragedy of the attic in the Cazador mansion being the only place that allows in some shafts of light. I bet he did that to her on purpose.)

After finding out about her existence, I think Astarion would be conflicted at first, then decide that if she's abandoned them all, he's not going to waste another thought on her. He didn't know her, she didn't know him, and if she fled without helping them, he's not going to worry about where she's gone. He'd have even less of an interest in her outcome than his siblings, I think, and those relationships are already contentious at best.

Now, Vellioth--I think that's another story. Finding out that Cazador, who has effectively set himself up as god-emperor to the spawn, the source of all pain and pleasure and the total sum of their universe, couldn't even come up with his own base set of rules? Finding out that Cazador is just one more link in an endless chain of suffering?

Man, I think it'd be rough for Astarion. I can easily see him going in a circle of laughing at Cazador for being a pathetic copycat -> a pathetic copycat enslaved me for 200 years -> does that make me even more pathetic than I originally thought -> is my escape therefore worth less in the grand scheme of justice -> no, what I did was great and good -> Cazador was pathetic but he was also powerful -> it is admirable that I killed him and therefore he must have had intrinsic value as an enemy -> Cazador was powerful in his own way even if he stole from Vellioth -> Cazador stole everything from Vellioth & was nothing more than a pathetic copycat, and so forth. Exhausting!

Once he got over the initial surprise, I do think he would have looked back at his time under Cazador and wonder if it needed to be reframed. The account of Cazador's impalement is horrifying. The brutal murder of Cazador's friend (Cazador had a friend!) is horrifying. And at the end of that horror, Vellioth still made Cazador a full vampire.

What does that mean for Astarion? Did Cazador really think he was being merciful by only imprisoning him for a year? Would Cazador have ever fully turned him if the ritual hadn't come into play? Probably not--probably he's just as cruel as Astarion always thought he was, and likely even more, but I think it's one last element of rug-pulling viciousness from Cazador to Astarion right at the end, one last time. Cazador dies, and Astarion can't even be unquestioningly happy about it.

As far as Astarion internalizing those rules, I think post-Cazador's death, he has a kneejerk rejection of anything like them for himself, just like you say. I do think if he's not checked by Tav/his LI, he may unconsciously lean into similar rules for them (see: the nearly identical ruleset he gives a turned Tav after Ascending), but I think a spawn Astarion with a healthy relationship could be coaxed out of that mindset given enough time & support.

Why BakuDeku will be canon and not IzuOcha? Connection between TogaChako and the entire Love Square...

So this is pure hypothesis and I should clarify that I'm not a shipper when it comes to MHA. I just love the story, its premise and the various themes that it involves and I love to see what happens next. I don't particularly support any ships and so with all that being said, let's jump into it!

So, Ochako said that "You should never hide your true feelings or that face of yours".

Horikoshi is very very clever with the panelling.

While most people were debating on whether or not it was an IzuOcha ship bait, I think it signifies something completely different.

Notice how Ochako was thinking about Deku as she said those lines but even in Ochako's imagination, Deku wasn't looking at her.

HE WAS LOOKING AT BAKUGO.

I mean, look at it.

He was a bit embarrassed and looking at someone else. It is most probably a memory from when they were training before the second war (when Bakugo was showing his new move Cluster to Deku)

But why would Ochako think about Deku looking at someone else during such an important time?

It parallels how Toga thinks about Twice in a completely platonic sense. He was more of a brother to her (Toga and Twice->brother sister bond)

Plus it also signifies Ochako's journey of self acceptance. Think about it!

When we met Ochako in the beginning, she had an inferiority complex about her hero motivation and background.

She met Deku, who played her knight in shining armor, who had this cool quirk and everybody loved him.

He was a Hero, and always in the spotlight. Even All Might was interested in him (according to Ochako because she never knew about OFA)

So she admired him and wanted to be like him as in wanted to be a great hero like him but it backfired because Ochako is Ochako and Deku is Deku.

Throughout the series, we see these feelings grow.

But with admiration, what Ochako always felt was jealousy....envy.

The theme of envy has been very prominent in the series. Bakugo is the biggest example of it.

I admit that Ochako might have had a tiny bit of crush on Deku because who wouldn't?

He is a cute, clumsy boy, well natured, a crybaby at times but a real hero at heart. Who wouldn't fall for that?

Plus it's not wrong to have feelings.

But in Ochako's case, she always felt that Deku is so far away.

It is such a literal representation!

Deku was moving forward while Ochako felt like she was lacking, like she is behind him, literally and figuratively.

We saw how she was struggling to deal with whatever she was feeling.

At first it looks like she is struggling to deal with her feelings for him, but at this particular moment her feeling could only be described as envy.

Admiration could easily be confused for love but!

You're never jealous of the person you love!!

Because till season 3 Ochako was feeling both admiration for his best friend (which everyone else confused for love) and jealousy.

It was especially awkward because they were friends and their other friends kept on pointing in that direction.

But the real change came in the war arc when Ochako got Deku's letter and realised that maybe Deku is not that special after all.

They are good friends, and she was worried about him because she realised that behind the Hero persona that Deku has, he is also human.

Being a fellow hero, it was more relatable to her.

"Special powers are one thing but there is no such thing as a special person" she said in her speech.

Humanizing all heroes and villains.

I also wanna talk about this specific panel after Bakugo's apology.

Something about Ochako's expression here really struck a crod.

As Deku falls in Bakugo's arms, the camera pans on Ochako who just stands there observing, what true love is.

She didn't feel anything, because she realised the bond between BakuDeku is a bond of love.

Which is why she never made an effort to follow Deku's footsteps again.

The famous cliff scene: the day before the second war! Both of them knew they could die the very next day and yet they chose to say nothing... Nothing as in love confession, because there was nothing to confess.

Ochako realised that Deku loves and admires Bakugo and she's ok with that, so she'll focus on more important matters, like the Toga situation.

Because she realised, she can be her own Hero.

And now she wanted to help Toga. A girl like her, that was crying.

Because she has seen so many happy faces, she cannot help but wonder what made Toga cry.

Plus Toga said that only heroes and the people they protect are counted as people and the rest don't even matter.

As a person, Toga should be free to love whoever she wants but because of her quirk she is constantly judged by people except LoV.

Toga was mad because nobody accepted her throughout her entire life, her parents, her friends, Heroes and the one place where she found home was also snatched away from her.

Everyone is free to love and admire heroes then why not Toga. Everywhere she went, she was rejected.

Even Deku's quirk pointed out that there was no real malice behind TOGA's actions. Her love is so strong that it puts people in danger.

Heck, Danger sense didn't activate in the beginning because Toga didn't wanna hurt Deku.

But it was after she was rejected so badly, that she turned against them.

It was not about a girl asking a boy out but a villain asking a hero out.

And Deku not only rejected her completely but also judged her.

So if the world rejects her, she is bound to do the same!

Which made Ochako the perfect person to face Toga. Both are girls full of love but hide deep inferiority complexes.

Ochako understood this and told Toga her smile is beautiful.

Why? Because Ochako realised it the hard way, what happens when you suppress your feelings which is why she admired Toga and told her that Toga is right and she should never hide her feelings or her face because she is beautiful.

She admired Toga for her genuine honesty and told her that it is nothing to be ashamed of.

Toga went on a rampage because Deku hurt her (he was the final nail in the coffin) but just because Deku rejected her doesn't mean the end of the world.

Toga is free to live her own life, just because Deku rejected her doesn't mean her life is finished and if she really wants to have a girl chat, Ochako will always be there!

She'll give her blood to Toga for the rest of her life..!!

It's just Ochako's way of telling Toga that just because a boy rejected her doesn't mean her life has ended. That Toga is beautiful and has a lovely smile. And if toga wants to talk about it, Ochako will be more than willing to listen and support her for the rest of her life.

My Top 10 My Hero Academia Ships

10) Shoji x Asui

Unarguably the most underrated ship on this list (probably because Shoji as a character is PAINFULLY underrated, I literally love this man so much no one understands). But anyway, I think these two are absolutely perfect for each other, and I'm surprised more people don't see the potential here honestly. Like, this isn't even the FIRST TIME I've seen Shoji carry Asui in his arms like this??? Even putting all of that aside, I feel like Shoji and Asui's hero ideals just complement one another's so much, because the two of them from the very beginning excelled impressingly well in prioritizing the safety of citizens above all else and I just think their heroic personas in general just mold so well together. Not to mention they are both heteromorphs, which is even more perfect if you ask me. Asui comes from such a big, loving family too, and I think for Shoji to become apart of it would actually make him the happiest man alive I'm not even kidding. Moral of the story, SHOW MORE LOVE FOR THESE TWO, PEOPLE!!!!

9) Stain x All Might

I never considered these two as a ship until the very scene below where I could only be like "wait hold the phone..." I never actually thought about it before then about how dedicated Stain is when it comes to All Might, which I know should have been obvious given his entire ideal but STILL. The way Stain was the only person who was able to instill confidence back into All Might to get back in the fray and find himself again??? Not to mention they are EASILY a "two sides of the same coin" trope because they are both worshipped symbols in the eyes of their followers: the good of mankind and hero society worship All Might, whereas the bad of mankind and those who felt shunned from society saw Stain as their icon. Idk man I just think their dynamic in general has so many layers that could be dissected and I absolutely LOVE it.

8) Tetsutetsu x Itsuka

These two are an absolute power couple you guys, I don't care if they aren't canon I wholeheartedly believe these two have a connection. Like DO YOU GUYS SEE THE WAY TETSU THREW HIMSELF IN FRONT OF A FUCKING GUN TO PROTECT HER???? And you know what, even though Tetsu is a badass of his own, I DAMN WELL know that man admires / looks up to Kendou like it's nobody's business I'm telling you. She's the "big sis" of the class, and while I'm not sure if it was stated who the class rep of B is, I put all my money on it being Kendou because she is just so smart and a hell of a fighter, which is why I KNOW Tetsu is her guard dog on sight, no argument there. Even still though, I think Kendou would also admire Tetsu's strength SO MUCH as well, I think the two of them see the other as being so far out of their own league in terms of battle prowess, especially after the fight below; I just know Kendou developed a new-found admiration for him after he risked so much in this fight by her side. I really see them as a parallel of Mina x Kirishima in a lot of ways.

7) Mirio x Tamaki x Nejire

I'll be honest with you here I'm usually not much of a poly shipper but THESE THREE???? Underrated as hell. Tamaki and Mirio are a great ship, but including Nejire in there too is just so sweet to me, I just see them as a package deal through and through, especially since Nejire was once so lonely and outcasted until the two of them came into her life. Hell even Tamaki who is so shy around EVERYBODY practically flourishes around not just Mirio, but Nejire too, I can just tell that platonic or more, Tamaki has an undeniable amount of love in his heart for Nejire too, even if Mirio is at the forefront of it all. Of course, Mirio and Tamaki doesn't require too much of an analysis because Tamaki is easily the gayest mf in the series (I think he even out-gays Bakugo let's be real here) and his backstory with Mirio is just absolutely incredible, and while I don't think we get much Mirio and Nejire solo action, I think those two just complement each other so well??? Like they have such bright and sunny personalities, they are absolutely radiant, and I think that's why Tamaki draws to them both so much (it's easily a sun x sun x moon ship <3). Honestly though, I'll take this ship in any equivalent though; Tamaki x Mirio? Nejire x Tamaki? Mirio x Nejire? I love all three together or separately to be real.

6) Spinner x Shigaraki

People need to stop SLEEPING ON THESE TWO god damn it! It's not even Fanon that Spinner was risking it all just for Shigaraki, I swear he was the person in the league who held Shigaraki's well-being and best-interest above EVERYTHING and EVERYONE else, he fucking LOVED that man and no one can tell me otherwise. I'm telling you right now, Shigaraki lived his entire life with no family, no friends, no one who actually loved or gave a damn about him without their own ideals at work, without manipulation. Spinner was the first and ONLY person to come into Shigaraki's life who actually SEEN him for his humanity, for the person he was and would have become if only he hadn't been groomed towards evil. When Spinner and Shigaraki were together, they were just boys; boys with hobbies, who just exist, and I know damn well that was the future Spinner would have wanted. I just wish Shigaraki would of seen it sooner that there was actually somebody in his life who loved and cared for him all along, and god what I wouldn't give to let these two be happy and together. Spinner's confrontation with Deku at the end of the story, it says everything that needs to be said. Really, all he wanted all along was what was best for Shigaraki </3

5) Aizawa x Hizashi

Of course they are here. Why wouldn't they be here? What list WOULDN'T they be on come on now. LMAO in all seriousness though I was not on board this ship at ALL for a hot minute, I just couldn't see the vision. But after reading so many fics where those two are married and adopt Shinsou and Eri, oh my fucking god I cannot see these two apart anymore, I can't enjoy a good dadzawa fic anymore if these two aren't - not even just Together, they have to be MARRIED for me to be satisfied and they have to have all those god damn cats ok??? I'm telling you there isn't a single reality where those two don't end up spending the rest of their lives together, I don't care what manner it is these two are inseparable either way. I don't think anyone can honestly sit there and think stoic-ass Aizawa wouldn't love his absolute fucking shit if Hizashi was in danger, ESPECIALLY with how intense his trauma of losing Oboro is, there's no damn way he is failing a second time to protect the people he loves I'm telling you that right now. It's just always been the two of them against the world, grumpy x sunshine, and that's the way it's gonna damn well stay! thank you ^_^

4) Kirishima x Kaminari

Underrated af ship surprisingly enough, but I get it because I love them platonically too. However, the bakudeku-kirikami double-dating brainrot is rotting so bad I need it on my desk right now pronto, ASAP :) Idk like I see the vision with Kirishima and Ashido as a couple, I love them together too tbh, and of course the Kaminari and Shinsou parallel to Mic and Aizawa people go wild for, which I can see too though I personally just ain't a fan of that one for some reason I can't manage to get into it. Idk as someone whose favorite trope is best friends to lovers, I just love these two so much, ESPECIALLY with Kirishima being the golden retriever, sunshine type of lover to Kaminari's black cat, yet matching type of energy to Kiri's, idk I really don't know how to describe it but there's just a certain appeal that's there for these two that I can't explain. Best friends pining for one another is just so satisfying as a trope, and they just look SO damn good together I can't deny it. I feel like Kirishima is definitely the protective type when it comes to him, whether somebody says something bad about Kaminari or if he ends up in a situation needing physical protection; not to mention he would be Kaminari's BIGGEST supporter and vice versa. And like, what's better than being in a relationship with your best friend? Having the same interests, already enjoying each other's company twenty-four-seven, like I don't think we would even see a huge change in their dynamic except they are just together and sharing an apartment and being more physically affectionate. These two just WORK so well by my standards.

3) Iida x Uraraka

I love love love love LOVE these two so much! Gahhhh I miss their early season shenanigans though, they really left the spotlight after a certain point and it makes me so sadddd (though their moment at the end of the vigilante arc was amazing by my standards). Anyways, I think these two are another underrated pairing, they just fit together so well I don't know how to explain. Uraraka brings out a certain silliness in Iida I think, and not to mention I seen someone post on analysis on here once about how Iida was the only person who supported Uraraka's reasons for wanting to be a hero in the first place, understanding her viewpoint of wanting enough money to live a comfortable lifestyle unlike Deku who thought she was lacking more of a heroic ambition. I think the two of them just even each other out, and I know Toga and Uraraka had a much more developed (and gut-wrenching) storyline, I just think Iida and Uraraka's dynamic has a lot of potential; I wish Uraraka would of been more involved in the ordeal with Stain and could of been portrayed as having been there for Iida in the aftermath since she and Deku were canonically his closest friends at U.A.. I just think they both have similar ideals and would be a good fit for each other :)

2) Inasa x Shouto

I still cannot fathom how THIS isn't one of the most popular Todoroki ships below Todoroki x Deku / Bakugo. GENUINELY I can't understand it, the potential is literally all laid out for you and yet no one bats an eye???? Like, the depth of LORE is some gourmet fucking cooking; Inasa initially being a big fan of Endeavor, secretly idealizing Todoroki from afar at the entrance exams because he admired him so much as Endeavor's son, then the ANGST fest of Todoroki still being closed off and prickly and pushing away Inasa's attempts at friendship MY GOOD GOD!!!! They both have elemental quirks that are literally DEPICTED as being so complementary of one another, they are both bull-headed and stubborn to a fault, and not to MENTION they BOTH have the exact same footing when it comes to Endeavor wherein they both hate him for his past actions but want to see an improvement from there, and that point alone makes these two mean so fucking much to me. Inasa seems like the ideal support system for Shouto (even during the end of season 7 when Inasa came on the battlefield he was cheering Todoroki on in the back of his mind even as he was far away fighting his own battle like GUYS PLEASE). And we can even see in canon already that Inasa's hyperactive personality has been able to soften Shouto's defences and make him more relaxed; I'm so giddy over the fact that the popular moment of Shouto's first real, soft, and genuine smile is DIRECTED AT INASA oh lord these two I need more fan fiction ASAP please I'm starving over here. 1) Bakugo x Izuku

Chat do I even need to explain bakudeku to you guys come on now. Obviously I in no way shipped or supported pre season 3 bakudeku by ANY means because Bakugo was a piece of shit and Deku deserved NONE of that, but Bakugo stepped the FUCK up and finally appreciated Deku for the absolute angel that he is and frankly no one but Bakugo is at the front of the line for the Deku protection squad- hell he isn't even IN line he's the fucking AMBASSADOR for that shit I'm just saying. You guys can't tell me these two aren't literally soulmates in every sense of the word, and you know it's something really special I think that Deku never once held a grudge against Bakugo at all for how he was in the past even though he had every right to; he STILL cared about him, he STILL referred to him fondly by the nickname he had for him as kids, and he STILL supported his journey towards becoming a hero every step of the way and now in the time skip Bakugo is no doubt paying it forward in every way that he can. These two are just made for each other, and I don't think anyone can deny that.

Madara

- He knows who she is because he feels it. There's a part of his inner self still connected to his past life, a place where a small portion of Indra resides, filled with hatred and resentment, ready to explode. Just as he learned to feel Asura's presence in Hashirama, he feels that woman's in (Y/N). He does not know what the history is between the Otsutsuki and the one who was supposed to be his special person, but the woman's abilities tell that she has always been a strong individual, whether in this life or another, and he can understand why his ancestor chose her to form his clan. He has admiration for her, and an intrinsic part of him is drawn to her beauty and toughness.

Izuna

- Madara makes the mistake of sharing his hunch with him, and the rumor spreads throughout the clan. Now everyone knows that a certain girl seems to be the reincarnation of one of the most important women in the clan, and we have to thank Izuna for that. Personally, he is in awe of her beauty, and having trained a couple of times with her, he almost ended up with some good scars, so he respects her power. He sees her as the perfect match for his older brother and is a believer that things should follow their natural course. If in the past she was with Indra, in the present she should be with Madara.

Obito

- Nope nope nope nope nope. He thinks she's great, being a strong and independent girl, but he's also afraid of her. Dealing with the reincarnations of the clan's ancestors is no fun at all, and if Madara is tale enough of how Indra once was, then he's not at all interested in knowing (Y/N)'s provenance. He prefers to feign dementia and act as if nothing happened, disengaging from any contact with the girl and avoiding her like the plague. It's best to stay out of matters that don't concern him, and if anyone has a bone to pick with her according to Indra's cosmic history, it will be Madara.

Shisui

- Innocent Curiosity. He probably approaches her only because he is amazed by her skill and strength, admires her as a shinobi, and believes she is one of the strongest figures in the clan. Perhaps he gets a little too close, to the point where Madara needs to put him in his place for thinking he might want to steal his destined mate. The Uchiha takes more care based on this warning, and follows (Y/N)'s moves from afar, admiring her deeply for her character and acting as her #1 fan.

Itachi

- He doesn't believe anyone's past life should bind them to a predetermined fate. Just because (Y/N)'s ancestor built a life with Indra does not mean she must do so with Madara, nor that she is bound to a specific path. She must be free to choose and make her own decisions, being a completely different person and detached from what she once was. According to Itachi, she has no business with that past life and must remove any pressure Madara puts on her. He feels sorry for her and wishes he could help.

Sasuke

- Who? Ha, as if he cares. At no point did he notice (Y/N), he doesn't have the slightest interest in knowing about her, and he hates the theory of reincarnations. Yes, maybe an old man was born millions of years ago and discovered the Sharingan, founded a clan, whatever, but that has nothing to do with him. No one will be able to tell him what to do, and he has no opinion about her because he doesn't spend his time getting to know her either. He prefers to concentrate on himself and his goals, and not waste time on stupid things, please.

The Capitol

Volumnia Gaul is Gargamel, conniving, and evil. Her fascination has turned to obsession, and now the only thing keeping her going is her desire for power and bloodlust.

Coriolanus Snow is Azreal, quite literally answering to Gaul's every beck and call. He may actually be smarter than his master, but they're a means to an end, and he's not willing to let that go. He cares very little for anyone or anything he just wants to do what's best for him.

District 1

Facet is Artistic (Painter in adaptations), he always manages to find the beauty in the world around him, and is able to find the good in every thing and everyone he comes into contact with. Though at time he can be a bit tempermental.

Velvereen is Slouchy, she doesn't have time for any of this. All the negativity she encounters just rolls right off her back, it's just not worth focusing on. Don't be mistaken she still cares about others and their feelings and is more than willing to lend a helping hand.

District 2

Marcus is Timber (Lumberjack in adaptations), strong and quick thinking he's someone you can always rely on. Though his strict and stern exterior may be a deterrent make no mistake he loves fun just as much as anyone, he just has no time for foolish games.

Sabyn is Harmony, she may not be great at what she does but know she's trying her best. She is always committed to getting better, your detractions just fuel her drive to improve. Handy in an emergency as she's always the first to sound the alarm and run for help

District 3

Circ is Handy, a free thinker always striving to make the lives of those around him better in any way possible. There in a flash to lend a helping hand, a chronic optimist Handy has a tendency to bite off more than he can chew. Just don't tell him you don't like his invention he doesn't respond well to criticism.

Teslee is Brainy, she manages to be the smartest person in the room and believes she's smarter than she really is. With no time for self-doubt, she needs to learn it's okay to be wrong. There's a fine line between being responsible and being a spoilsport; unfortunately, she leapfrogs from side to side whenever convenient for her.

District 4

Mizzen is Nat (Natural Smurf), a nature and animal lover in every way possible. He understands the natural world in a way no one else seems to, and is always there to lend our furry friends a helping hand. If only that compassion continued onto the other people.

Coral is Grouchy, while it may seem as though she likes absolutely nothing, there is affection behind her gruff exterior, particularly towards their young friend. Waking up on the wrong side of the bed every day is hard, but it doesn't stop her from pulling her weight.

District 5

Hy is Tuffy, the desire to be like the person we admire most is a very natural one, but it would be better for everyone if he learned it is best to be himself.

Sol is Lazy, friendly, loyal, and understanding, none of those traits really seem to matter seeing as she consistently fails to pull her weight.

District 6

Otto is Sloppy, all of his hard work would probably be more appreciated if he put more care into it. Also hate to tell you this but he desperately needs a shower.

Ginnee is Dabbler, great at many different things, not to mention a good person all around, but she would probably get more respect if she could just pick a hobby and stick with it.

District 7

Treech is Clumsy, a chronic dreamer who always seems to be tripping over his own feet. The world is a beautiful place but he would probably be better off if he found a better time to admire its beauty.

Lamina is Timid, a shy and mild-mannered person, who just can't help but let their emotions get the better of them. Not that they're a mess she should just worry less and let everyone see how talented they really are.

District 8

Bobbin is Snappy, Rambunctious, and adventurous, he's not one to back down from a challenge. Though sometimes his desire to get his own way is his undoing, at least he can admit when he's wrong. He has a softer side, though it's reserved for a select few. Be warned when his temper flares its good for no one.

Wovey is Flighty, hardworking, and good-natured, their only problem is they tend to be a bit forgetful. A great friend and productive member of the community, but sometimes they need a little help staying on track.

District 9

Panlo is Chef, up with the sun every morning, working hard to provide a good start and end to everyone's day. Be warned stay out of his kitchen, or risk a beating with his rolling pin.

Sheaf is Farmer, hardworking, and fun, no one knows more about plant life than her. If you ever need someone to talk to farmer is up at all hours of the day and always willing to lend an ear.

District 10

Tanner is Jokey, in his eyes, nothing is sacred and no time is a bad time for a good laugh. A chronic troublemaker, make no mistake he means no actual harm with his pranks, he just wants to lighten the mood and entertain, mostly himself.

Brandy is a Tracker, if you've lost it, she can find it. Approaching everything with passion most reserve for the light of their life. There is never a dull day according to her.

District 11

Reaper is Papa, the oldest, wisest, and bravest of them all. Always willing to solve any problem he's approached, anyone can see exactly why he is in charge. Though he won't tolerate any disrespect.

Dill is Sassette, chatty, curious, and at times a bit eccentric, she has no problem with getting her hands dirty. She has no problem with hard work or letting others know exactly what she thinks.

District 12

Jessup is Hefty, strong as they come and only desiring to keep others safe he truly is one of the best. With a heart of gold and always willing to lend a hand his only problem lies in his academic failure. Tending to take things quite literally, the joke can end up on him when everyone understands something he doesn't.

Lucy Gray is Smurfette, she's smart and capable and always ready for a new adventure. Curious and brave she has endless capacity for empathy and manages to find the good in almost everyone.

A/N: Okay for you my Sage Background Anon, because you specified my answer didn't have to be one of the available romanceable characters within the game and that you preferred a male answer, I think that your best match would be Rolan (Male)! 

🎆 Rolan would be a wonderful matchup for your tiefling sorcerer Tav! 

As a fellow tiefling, your Tav understands just how hard Rolan has had to work to overcome all the prejudices associated with your race. She, despite being a sorcerer, born with natural power, has endured discrimination due to her hellish ancestry. This makes your Tav all the more understanding when Rolan feels the need to act superior or smarter. However, it also means your Tav is the exact right person to tell Rolan to knock it off or to just be himself. And Rolan can hear her say it and know that it's coming from a well-meaning place, rather than an ignorant one, because they share the same race. 

Rolan also appreciates dating a fellow magic user, although he may be a bit jealous at times at how easy sorcery comes to her, whereas he must practice his magic over and over again to be a proficient wizard. More often than not, however, that jealousy gives way to healthy admiration; Rolan sees your Tav as a role model, someone to aspire to be like. 

He loves Tav's shorter build, it makes him feel all the more masculine and dominant (lol Rolan size kink unlocked). And he can’t stop eyeing her curves, to the point where either Cal or Lia has to berate him for always ogling you in public. What? He can’t help it! He’s obsessed with the roundness and curviness of your form and the fullness and the flounce of your curls. 

The fact that your Tav loves reading is great because even though she doesn’t need to study as much as Rolan to enhance her magic, it means the two of them can have reading dates where she reads her novels and Rolan reads his magic texts. 

Regarding animals, Rolan can’t say he’s a fan- Ramazith Tower has a strict “no pets allowed” policy. But seeing your Tav gush over how adorable they are makes his heart melt. Okay fine, he’ll relent, Ramazith Tower can have some pets- so long as he doesn’t have to clean up after them. (Rolan’s basically the dad that says “No I don’t want a dog”, and then ends up spoiling the dog whenever he’s home.) 

Your Tav being an INFP and Rolan being what I see as an ESTJ makes you fairly compatible. The only thing to watch out for is the difference in your priorities. You value emotional commitment and friendship: you care to know what makes the people around you tick. On the other hand, ESTJs want to be productive: they value tradition and stability, preferring to keep things consistent, which doesn’t always jive when you want to put the feelings of others first.
