I think a lot of the problems in the word stem from people confusing capitalism and communism.

“But in a communist society you would be poor and someone else will get your hard earned money! You might starve or freeze or be homeless!!”

So close darling, actually that’s capitalism.

Wrong again, that’s communism. Because everyone deserves the same. Everyone deserves to be able to live from the money they make. Everyone deserves a stable income.

“If we were in a communist society people would get lazy and don’t work hard enough anymore, but get their money anyways, that’s unfair!”

My sweet summer child. That’s capitalism. How hard do you think your boss is working for double the money you get.

Stalin was a fascist and late state capitalist. The Soviet Union failed at being communist and instead turned capitalist the moment people on top started hoarding money and letting others starve. That was capitalism. The Soviet Union was just incredibly harmfully capitalist wirh a few extra steps.

I know everyone hates the US but does anyone currently stuck in this shithole against their will like me actually wanna put it down like a rabid dog and reform the geographical area into something similar to a stateless, moneyless, classless, anarchical nation that’s community focused and runs on actual connection with others? In other words, something that’s actually free and meets everyone’s needs?

Of course, I understand that this place was built on stolen land but what if this new stateless community allowed for First Nations to exist and function of their own will? As an anarchocommunist place, people would be free to associate and conduct business however they please. There’d be no need to pay taxes or submit any kind of official document to any government or nation because there’d be no nation. No class. No money. No oppression. The ones who originally lived here would have their land back, and people could barter with anyone else for resources as well as even produce resources independently without needing to give those resources to anyone else.

I’d likely call this place the People’s Republic of the West or something. It’s been ruminating in my head lately but, y’know, food for thought.

friendly reminder you dont need a diagnosis to be in disability spaces, as an example im in constant pain and fatigue, have migraines every week and my joints hurts to a point I can't write, but since familiar gaslighting/medical trauma and the fact that im an indigenous, brown skin fat man a diagnosis is fucking hard (but im in my way! :)) , but i still deserve a safe space to talk about my experiences and to feel valuable and supported.
