Did Trump just say people from “insane asylums” are going into cities and stealing jobs from Black people?
…what the fuck?

James Liddell at The Independent:
Donald Trump has sparked outrage after he conjured up a violent fantasy about Liz Cheney being shot in the face during a campaign appearance days before Election Day. The former president joined conservative broadcaster Tucker Carlson on stage at an event in Glendale, Arizona, on Thursday night where he branded the former Republican representative a “radical war hawk.” After condemning the Iraq war and boasting about pardoning Dick Cheney’s then-chief of staff Scooter Libby, who was convicted on perjury charges in 2007, Trump lined up the former vice president’s daughter in his crosshairs. “His daughter is a very dumb individual, very dumb. She’s a radical war hawk,” Trump said to some cheers. “Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her. Let’s see how she feels about it. You know, when the guns are trained on her face.” The Republican presidential candidate then took aim at government officials, before throwing one last jab at Cheney. “They’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a nice building saying, ‘Oh, gee, well, let’s send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy,’” Trump continued.
[...] Trump has called for Cheney, who endorsed Kamala Harris and hit the campaign trail alongside the vice president last month, to be jailed multiple times this year. In March, he called for the former Wisconsin lawmaker – and other members of congress who investigated his actions surrounding the January 6 2021 Capitol riots – to be jailed on Truth Social. By July, he called for “televised military tribunals” of his political opponents, sharing a post in the summer that stated “Elizabeth Lynne Cheney is guilty of treason.” And, in recent weeks, the GOP candidate has branded top Democrats as “the enemy from within” and has suggested deploying the military to go after “radical left lunatics” on Election Day.
Donald Trump has some sick and violent fascistic fantasies by suggesting that Kamala Harris-endorsing Republican Liz Cheney should be shot at during a Tucker Carlson Live event in Glendale, Arizona.

Taylor swift endorses Kamala Harris for president 🚨
“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight.
If you haven't already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most.
As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.
Recently I was made aware that Al of 'me' falsely endorsing Donald Trump's presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around Al, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.
I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman's right t her own body for decades.
I've done my research, and I've made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.
I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it's much easier to vote early. I'll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.
With love and hope,
Taylor Swift

President Rutherford B. Hayes (far right), First Lady Lucy Webb Hayes, and their party visiting Yosemite -- which was still ten years away from becoming a National Park -- on October 21, 1880. President Hayes was not only the first President in American history to visit the West Coast of the United States while in office, but he was the first incumbent President to travel west of Salt Lake City and only the second to travel west of the Rocky Mountains (his immediate predecessor, Ulysses S. Grant had visited Utah in 1875).
The President's "Great Western Tour", which lasted from August 26-November 6, 1880 took the Presidential party through Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming Territory, Utah Territory, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington Territory, Arizona Territory, New Mexico Territory, Colorado, and Kansas en route to the Hayes family home, "Spiegel Grove" in Fremont, Ohio in time for Hayes to cast his ballot for fellow Ohioan James Garfield to be his successor.
