Single Moms Pregnancy Checklist

If you are single and pregnant and need something just to keep you on track and keep anxiety at bay, I have just the thing.

2 years ago I experienced great joy and great loss all at the same time when my daughter fell pregnant but soon after her husband passed away.

I really wanted to help her so I started to write down a whole list of things that needed to be done in preparation for her birth. This turned out to be a real lifesaver for her because she felt some sort of control during a tough time when things had spiraled out of control.

Long story short, she shared my checklist (scrap bit of paper) with one of her friends in a similar situation, who then also shared it on to her friend. The feedback was amazing to be honest and it caught me off guard as I didn't think that much of it.

Here we are 3 years later, and after a lot of pushing from my daughter god bless her, I have re-created the checklist more professionally and turned it into an eBook for anyone who needs or wants it.

Mistake<Miracle

He called her a mistake, I call her a miracle. Any child is a miracle regardless of if they were unplanned or not. When I found out I was pregnant, my baby daddy- who is 7 years younger than me told me to “abort that shit”. Here I am 5 months pregnant and  he hasn’t been there for me. It has taken me so much to try and move on. Not because I love him but because its just unfair, but that’s life. Right away he didn’t want to see me or talk to me in person. He didn’t even like to text me. He said he would be there for me but quickly became emotionally and verbally abusive. He told me not to tell anyone because he was worried about his reputation. He then got a girlfriend! Now they’re “in love” She believes him when he says the child is not his. HAHA he’s a liar and a manipulator. He is the most selfish person I know and yet he calls me selfish. I’m choosing adoption for my baby girl to give her the best life possible. He won’t even sign the papers saying he’s not the father. What a piece of shit. I had contacted his mother to try and get help because of his immaturity and lack of responsibility which ended up being a huge mistake. Clearly the apple didn’t fall far from the tree because she is worse than he is. She has been stalking/ harassing me and my family. Hopefully the police telling her to leave me alone with help. If you are are scared and alone. You will get through this.

Hey there, based on the way your ex is behaving; no it's not wrong for you to cut contact with him during your pregnancy. You don't need the stress he is bringing to you during this time, especially with him adding a new girlfriend to the situation. Urgh! I'm disgusted that he is using her as an excuse for missed scan appointments. I don't know where you got the information that his girlfriend was preventing him having contact with you, but if it came from him it's most likely to be a lie. You don't know what he's told her about you either, but you can be sure there will be more lies involved. However, if by some small chance it is true that his girlfriend is dictating or controlling his contact with you it still comes down to him, it's his choice to listen to her and to stay away from you if that is what's happening, although I very much doubt it. By his actions he isn't doing anything that he doesn't want to do, he actually doesn't seem to know what he is doing (leaving you then wanting to come back when he knew he had a new girlfriend) or care about how it affects you or his relationship with his baby. He's out for himself and sounds like a confused lying coward. Yes girl! You make sure you stay focused on your last semester in college! Don't let your ex or his new girlfriend get in the way of you moving forward and making progress with your life! As time goes by they will matter less and less but your education won't! This isn't good for you. I hope you're not cooking for him or washing his clothes! You need to ask him to leave as it's clear he's only there for his own convenience, maybe he has no place else to go. If your ex was staying for you he wouldn't ignore you, disrespect you, pick fights by saying mean things, be speaking to other women on the phone in front of you trying to make you jealous or staying out at nights making you feel insecure at a time when you need stability and security most. If you leave things as they are it's only going to get much worse, your break up isn't real to you yet because he's still there so you've not yet mourned the relationship being over as his presence clearly makes you believe there may still be a chance. You are only delaying the pain and you don't want to be in the midst of it when you become a new mother. You seriously need time to yourself to adjust to your new life without him before the baby arrives so you don't suddenly find yourself overwhelmed down the line. If he is sticking around to see how things go you deserve better, not a man who wants to give you and your child a trial probation run to be in his life. You also said you suspect he might be seeing someone, don't remain in a situation where you could possibly end up downgrading yourself while feeling vulnerable, unintentionally becoming a live-in side chick babymother. That would really drive you crazy! If he refuses to leave then you might have to move out if you can, yes it will be a nightmare but it will be much easier to do before you have the baby and could save you a lot of drama and chaos to come! My wish for all single mothers is for them to prosper further in life than deadbeat dads and absent fathers- including all the women they get with who accept this bs! May single mothers who need to hear this- that have been left alone to raise children on their own- find themselves in ways that these types of rubbish fathers and their women will never be able to discover about themselves! When it comes to the birth don't expect a man who didn't want his baby to show up or you will end up hurt! So many ladies who have been abandoned by an ex during their pregnancies ask me "Should I call him when I go into labour, Kandy?" NO! NO! NO! Don't! You will only end up feeling anxious before the birth, wondering and worrying about if your babies father will show up or not, even though deep down you already know he won't but that doesn't stop you from thinking wishfully which could cause complications, giving birth is serious and needs to be done in a stress free environment. It's not a good idea to have a man there who didn't support you during your pregnancy. If you do inform your babies father when you are in labour and he does not show up to the birth, after the birth you won't be feeling as happy as you could have and your emotions will be mixed with hurt, looking at your sweet, beautiful innocent baby makes it feel even worse. Hey Hun💕 Thank you so much for your kind words❤️ Regarding your problem, it sounds like your boyfriend is scared among a few other things. He could be afraid of everything going wrong especially if he is bringing up past situations. You becoming clingy and needy due to your hormones may have pushed him away even more, the thought of soon being needed by more than one person might be making him feel like he needs freedom. However that doesn't give him the right to ignore you! My advice to you is to do nothing at this point except focus on yourself as your baby is due very soon, please make the end of your pregnancy about you because thinking about what your baby's father says and does will only continue to leave you in confusion. Things may change hopefully after you have the baby, but for now you have no time to put up with his immaturity if he doesn't understand how a woman changes emotionally during pregnancy. I understand you feeling sad and depressed with him behaving like this but try not to stress yourself out because I think this situation could quite possibly turn itself around. But for now, I say focus on yourself! Do not try to work things out with him as you will only push him further away. If he wants to work things out with you he will do just that, trust me! He isn't interested and has been stringing you along for nine months because throughout your pregnancy you haven't seen him once! If he only texts or calls he is doing that for a reason, he is most likely keeping you as an option should wherever he is now (with another woman no doubt) turn out bad for him. I'm sorry but you have to forget about this man who has shown you just how much he genuinely doesn't care and is playing mind games with you by texting and calling but never actually physically being there!
