I’m writing the next chapter of my LMK fic (I “Love” My “Wife”) (always be pluggin) and I literally went like
“I forgot that you're not as…durable as my other sparring partners, sorry”
“I forgot that you're not as…durable as my other sparring partners, sorry”
“I forgot that you're not as…durable as my other sparring partners,”

I know how it sounds at first, but I really gotta feel bad for the boys that sacrificed edwin; I mean even the term “sacrificed edwin” paints them in a more sinister light than they really deserve– considering that wasn’t really, actually their intention.
they were bullies, they were homophobic (and/or were self loathing gay boys themselves taking it out on edwin, or were equally likely peer pressured into acting a certain way), they planned something stupid and mean to do to an innocent, anxious boy with the goal of scaring the shit out of him, all because he was effeminate and an easy target. but they didn’t know or expect any of the ritual stuff to be real. they were all laughing and joking during the ritual because it was just that to them– a joke. a cruel joke, but a joke.
teenagers can be mean and stupid and they usually regret it as adults and grow out of it / grow from it. they were stifled the chance to grow out of it, at least while alive. none of those boys deserved to be instakilled and sent to hell; they’re really not that much less deserving than edwin himself. they were all just kids, after all.

I’m here to bother you again!!!
You don’t have to if you don’t want to but maybe dark ship bingo with timjay or brudick????
hELLO i love being bothered by you this is delightful omg thank you, i would love to
Here is JayTim, I can't believe I only got one bingo for them. Ironically I genuinely don't view Jason and Tim as family, even when I'm not shipping them, I think they're tentative allies at best and you can only brother-ify them if you're doing very generously OOC fluff, a la WFA-style. They're absolutely toxic and codependent on each other's existence, Tim wouldn't exist without Jason and Jason is Undeniably Weird about Tim, but not brothers so I can't check off the familial squares. Also, I have no idea if I've been blocked by 10+ people, but it'd be funny if I am. And funnily enough, I don't think Tim or Jason are vanilla in any capacity even when they're not fucking. Especially not Tim, that boy is Certified Weird.
and ofc BruDick I nearly blacked out the whole board because they absolutely are weird and unwell. Some of these only apply to certain AUs of BruDick (like an idea I have rattling in my skull rn with Talon!Dick) but most of it applies to them all the time. I really need to write some fucked up BruDick, it's tragic I haven't yet. Right now the two fics I'm working on are a weird JayDick and a more fluffy DamiDick, but I have Plans™ for BruDick too. They are the OG and deserve their flowers for being the most toxic mess you've ever seen.

I long rested often but apparently I still missed dialogue because I didn't go enough. Ngl I feel like I missed more dialogue with Gale than anyone else, because I don't have him in my party that often. Some characters stories don't feel as complete or moving because of that and I'm super irritated.
I was going to do another playthrough anyway but there is so much to miss in this game I feel like my first go was incomplete and a waste of time, I'm in act 3 and not starting over.

I saw your response to the poll and the meta you reblogged and wanted to ask your thoughts on wwx's use of guidao post resurrection. He does have the added benefit of a golden core at this point, but I always read his loss of control in his first life to be tied more closely with the outside pressure he was facing rather than his cultivation (i.e. the use of guidao is what allowed a loss of control to be so destructive but it didn't cause it). My thought was that if guidao was truly so temperamental then there should be consequences to wwx using it post resurrection, but there's not. However, you've probably read much more closely than I have, which is why I'm interested in hearing what you think 👀
we had a conversation on twt about this, so i'll just share here!!

Sonic Adventure 2 is so funny bc like it’s so Incredibly Obvious it came out in July 2001 and I don’t mean the jank of it I mean that like every five seconds in a cutscene you’re reminded it came out like two months before 9/11 like. if you don’t know how much the entertainment industry (in particular the gaming industry) worldwide was impacted by 9/11 it’s an incredibly interesting thing to read about like this isn’t me being america-centric I’m Not American I am just fascinated with the censorship and changes games recieved after the September Eleventh attacks and the fact Sonic Adventure 2 received None Of It makes it really funny after you’ve looked into that. Like, you literally Play As The Guys Who Commit A Terrorist Act like everyone knows the scene from I'm Pissing On The Moon and that’s hilarious but the original scene is fucking great in its own right bc like. It's so pre-9/11 okay. There’s weapons of mass destruction and I’m pretty sure they’re directly called that by name at one point. The government is portrayed as corrupt and horrible and cops are the bad guys. Like children's media and video games specifically were impacted a Lot by post 9/11 worldwide trauma and like understandable again like, kids Everywhere In The World saw people die in front of them that’s traumatic for any kid to watch even on TV it’s very understandable that stuff reminiscent to that was pretty heavily shied away from for a few years after but it makes Sonic Adventure 2 Not Doing That intensely funny.

going insane thinking about the Najin time loop au again. Najin trying everything he can think of to end this— keeping Nagyunn away from the house so he can fight without worrying, staying away from the house for as long as possible, just never leaving at all, he even asks White Doe for help once— except telling Nagyunn, because he got himself into this and he's going to get himself out of it, and he's spent the last decade doing his damnedest to not burden him with his problems anymore, and besides, there's no way Nagyunn would believe him in the first place.
So he just keeps dying and dying and fighting a bit better this time, getting a little bit closer, but still dying and dying and self-destructing because he doesn't realize that Nagyunn trusts him implicitly, and has never once thought of him as a burden. Until one time, when he's too tired to even be angry anymore, he breaks and tells him. And Nagyunn is quiet for a moment, and his face goes utterly blank, and he already knew it was going to be like this, he shouldn't have hoped, and he kind of wants to cry like he hasn't in a long, long time. But then Nagyunn interrupts, still blank-faced but his eyes are intense, and goes "You're serious?", and Najin is so shocked and relieved that he can hardly speak so he just nods so hard his head might fall off, rubbing at his cheeks— when did he start crying?— until he finds his voice again.
"Yes. Yes, I'm serious," comes out like a raspy prayer.
Things go quickly after that.
Nagyunn approaches it like a strategist, trying to see it from every angle, taking a scalpel to the issue to see how it works. He's methodical in his questions: How long has this been going on? he's lost count; What triggers a reset? ... him dying; (a slight pause, barely perceptible, before) How do you keep dying? this one takes a little longer to explain.
It's surprising, but not really, how clinical Nagyunn remains as Najin explains how he joined hands with the dragon's descendants and how he was feeding information to the knights. Nagyunn stands listening, statue still, hand over his mouth as the gears in his head turn. It's been a while since he's seen that gesture; it's been a while since he's seen Nagyunn like this— cutting, calculating. It's been a while since Najin's been honest like this with him.
The gears seem to stop: the hand falls from his face, and his eyes, which were previously fixed on a spot on the floor, pierce through him like a spear. He asks, voice clear and precise, "Have you tried running away yet?"
The simplest solution is usually correct. Nagyunn had said that to him once when they were younger and is saying it again now, lightly teasing as Najin groans.
(Najin falls asleep for the first time in a long time that night, the stars above him and his brother by his side.)

Tbh I'm surprised nobody else has brought up the idea of Richard being abused too
It feels like a lot of potential for it and an explanation (aside from their status) as to why Roy never got help for it either -- Richard thought it was normal.
Now this is just making me imagine a scene where Carmen remarks that Roy will "grow out of it" (it being his behavior) like Richard did in front of the other Hatz and Ross and Robert just share a Look
Anddd now I'm wondering how much Carmen knows
TW for discussions of fictional CSA/SA and mentions of alcoholism
Me too, I thought it would be an obvious assumption but I guess not.
Exactly, I’ve seen the fandom explore Carmen and Roy’s relationship regarding his CSA but never with Richard. I think it’s ashamed because there’s a lot you can write for the relationship, even outside of their CSA.
Omg that’s a good scene idea. The Hatzgang are realized there is a deeper issue, and Roy has to unfortunately unpack that generational trauma. I can see how learning his dad is a possible CSA victim, like him, starts pushing Roy to tell his parents but also discourages him because basically Richard unknowingly knew Roy was SA but never recognized it because he doesn’t know he was SA too. I also believe Richard normalized his brother’s actions too. It’s truly devastating how Richard indirectly contributed to the normalization of Roy’s abuse but he doesn’t know it’s SA. He believes those fun “games” him and his brother played were normal family bonding activities and is happy to hear his son is getting along with his brother, a brother he admired when growing up.
These headcanons might change as the series continues and the deeper I get into research.
I headcanon Carmen doesn’t know anything but has suspected something was off a few times. She never thought anything of Richard’s behavior at first because he alway been this way. When they became adults, she started questioning as Richard still had issues with intimacy at that point in their relationship and his alcoholism was at its worst. (Short ver: Richard started drinking at a young age to cope with trauma of his SA and the Uncle encouraged this, buying him alcohol for various reasons. Modern day, Richard is a functional alcoholic but has gotten better with his drinking)
As of the moment, Roy’s parents are unaware of Roy’s CSA. The day the Uncle died, Roy did get in trouble but for separate reasons. Carmen and Richard were mad at Roy for hanging out with “plebeians” and sending them to one of his uncle’s private properties. Roy doesn’t feel comfortable telling them yet because they’re snobby, judgmental people, so he assumes they won’t react well.
