could u do a peter parker being the best bf to a gf w anxiety, like if she bounces her leg he always gently puts his hand on her knee and like if she’s messing w her nails or fingers he just holds them, and if she’s getting nervous in public he just grabs her waist and like makes sure she feels safe? i need a peter parker in my life😭😭
thank you for ur request this was so sweet! <33
The restaurant is so loud you wonder how Peter can bear it with his enhanced hearing.
He sits across from you, curls looking sweet and messy, eyes on the menu and lips in a concentrated frown. You glance back down at your own menu and are overwhelmed by options. Before you realise it you're rubbing the pulse point of your wrist over and over, leg bouncing in tandem under the table.
"What sounds good?" he asks you, voice warm. The way he talks to you always surprises you, every sentence laden with a particular tone of gentle adoration. Even when there's no pet name to be heard, his voice implies one.
You forget the magnitude of your choice for a moment as you think about the answer. "Well, they have prawn saganaki. You like that."
"I love that," he agrees. "But what do you want?"
"Uh…"
You bring your hand to your mouth unthinkingly, fingertip pressed into the swell of your bottom lip. You take the pad of your finger between your teeth and bite down until it stings, and still you can't think of what you want, and Peter is waiting, and the server will be back any minute now with your drinks, and-
"Dovey?"
You wince, letting your hands and the menu fall flat onto the table.
"What?" you ask.
"You okay?"
You swallow and nod and smile, because everything is fine.
"Want me to choose for you?"
"Would you?" you ask, high strung.
He smiles as if to say, of course I will. His eyes flit back down to the menu and within seconds he's recommending something you're almost positive you'll enjoy.
The server returns and sets your drinks down. Peter gives his own order and then yours without any afterthought, taking a sip of your drink before you can protest.
"This is nice," he teases, "wanna swap?"
You forget for a while where you are, his smile a cure all balm for your surface level anxieties. The food arrives and Peter makes an awful shellfish joke that almost makes you spit your drink. Then, loud, someone laughs, and then someone else. A group of girlish laughter.
You have the creeping suspicion that they're laughing at you. You sneak a glance behind you. None of them are looking at you, but something about their laughter feels personal.
Maybe my hair is a mess? Is my hair a mess? I look weird from the back.
Your leg jumps up and down, over and over. You turn back to find Peter staring at you with his fork resting on the table, and, in what is the universe's worst timing, a door slams open. You jump half out of your seat and bring your hand to your racing heart, a nervous giggle bubbling out of your bitten lips.
"Ah. God, I'm such a wuss," you say.
Your self-deprecation usually prompts a speech from Peter about how you should 'be nice to my girl, please,' but instead he looks like he's sizing you up.
"Can I come sit by you? It's drafty over here,” he asks, not bothering to sound believable. He's barely finished talking before he's standing up and dragging his chair next to yours. He sits down and leans across the table to bring his food and glass forward. He doesn't say anything else, his elbow brushing your elbow as he eats.
You watch him unabashedly, waiting for an explanation.
He looks out the corner of his eye at you and grins. You smile back tentatively. Only after you've started eating again does he reach under the table to put his hand on your thigh, gently pressing your shoe down into the ground so you can’t shake.
“Wanna try some of mine?” he asks, gesturing to his food with his fork.
You shake your head at him in amusement, feeling endlessly fond and twice as grateful. “No, thank you.”
He squeezes your thigh in his big hand. “Lemme know if you change your mind.”

#recipe #chef #wild #radish #grill #fish #prawn #greek #sole 🇬🇧 A Chef’s table at your table! The chefs of Wild Radish source the best ingredients and create easy-to-follow recipes for us to cook from scratch at home. I tried a Greek receipe creating a saganaki with prawns, courgettes, sun-dried tomatoes, peppers and feta cheese to serve with grilled lemon sole. And it was so delectable! A true chef never uses ready-made sauces or pre-chopped onions and neither do we. You’ll get a box of great (whole) ingredients, just as restaurants do. Then you’ll chop, slice, dice and saute in your kitchen. Worth to try! (at My Kitchen) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPQ_neFF_NG/?utm_medium=tumblr

i’m trying to think of a menu for my birthday party...i’m thinking a few finger food bits and a few salads, then a veg-heavy barbecue with a couple of meat things on the side as follows:
- sweet potato, leek, pea, and mint spiced filo triangles (made them last year and they were amazing)
- two sorts of crostini: one with broad beans from the garden, feta, and lemon / one with roasted cherry tomatoes and anchovy
- watermelon, red onion, feta salad
- potato salad with lots and lots of pickles, apple, spring onion, rocket
- some sort of coleslaw because i love it, maybe the cabbage and carrot vermicelli slaw with lemon/poppyseed dressing from my new cookbook
for the barbecue:
- definitely halloumi or saganaki
- veggies like capsicum, eggplant, zucchini, onion, maybe cauliflower - these can then be eaten in pita wraps with hummus and lemon juice
- prawns
- kangaroo steak that i can then slice thinly and toss into a salad of some kind, i’ll work on this one
and then for sweets afterwards have
- lots of fresh fruit (mango, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, watermelon)
- some sort of crumbly olive oil cake, maybe orange and fennelseed or orange and rosemary
- a raspberry tart (with creme pat as the base for the fresh fruit)

Family dinner @merakilondon Shared lots of small plates: roasted aubergine prepared in a mortar on the table - smoky smashed aubergine with pomegranate and fresh herbs, perfect for dipping the crispy pita chips in. We also had the smooth tarama topped with a bit of caviar and a “Mykoonian” salad. A glass each of Meursault and Sancerre to complement the starters. • Three hot appetizers followed: the crispy calamari and green peppercorn dip, prawn saganaki and the delicious grilled octopus with a creamy onion stifado and fresh oregano. • Grilled baby chicken with tzatziki and a chargrilled rib-eye with pardon peppers, some broccoli and fried potatoes on the side. • Rolled baklava dessert and chocolate mousse with a fig sorbet with a fresh mint tea to end the evening. • #TravelswithaGourmet #TWAGLondon #Meraki #Foodie #FitroviaRestaurant (at Meraki London) https://www.instagram.com/p/CgfYZp1qAbb/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
