so there's this one like really REALLY good Miku cover of a Super Sentai song i found like a year ago and recently i went "hey maybe i should make some fanart of it because I like the cover so much I can even shill the cover in the post so other people listen to it"

then i started drawing this and went to look up the cover to get in the mood only to discover the creator deleted the original upload and replaced it with a version that used AI art for the thumbnail (i am SO salty that guy made amazing covers whyyyy) (this is the saltiest ive ever been about someone using AI) and uhh the cover itself is still great but AI art goes against my morals so I don't wanna link it but I was already inspired to do this art so i finished it anyway

And now, a few post-round thoughts on our fallen contestants.

ALIEN RANGERS RIP to the only song to get 0 votes. Despite just being Go Go Power Rangers with a single word changed, I don't think it quite deserved that.

RPM Put up a solid fight, but its matchups were rough. I like that there's an unused alternate intro sung by Dan Avidan.

OPERATION OVERDRIVE I don't understand how it almost beat Dino Fury. Maybe I'm missing something, but for my money this is the worst one. Sorry to its fans.

BEAST MORPHERS I like the style, but it's kinda short. Maybe a few more lyrics would've kept it in the tournament.

MEGAFORCE Another retread of Go Go Power Rangers, but this time I do think it deserved to lose for also (mostly) being a retread of Samurai.

NINJA STEEL Probably my favorite of the losers. I'm a sucker for a key change, what can I say?

ZEO I feel like I did Zeo a disservice, because the video I used doesn't have the ethereal opening chorus. It also had the unenviable task of being in the same poll as Dino Charge, which had the highest percentage of any matchup.

SAMURAI Unfortunate that one of the Go Go Power Rangers covers was up against the original, though it only lost by 1 vote. Good job, Samurai!

Dear Fran Atic,

For one, it's not a Western Hero film... not technically. It was originally aired in Japan with some small reshoots from Global Studios that also took some repaired clips from Japan's version of the film and combined them with their own small reshoots. Western costumed hero films would be ones like Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, and the like.

I'd, second, not call myself a fan. Just a casual viewer.

Third, more importantly, this is not a costumed hero film. It's a samurai film. The actors put on costumes, but the characters themselves are not wearing costumes. What you see is their actual character look.

Rewatching Samurai and I stg I think it would’ve been so much more of a cooler concept if it focused on the generational impact of the Power being passed down through the families? We saw a bit of it with Lauren and Jayden, it’s implied that their mildly too-hinged, reserved personalities comes from their lives being shaped around being the Red Ranger Alone, and later on with Antonio breaking this system, but the broader show of how these Rangers’ entire lives were expected to be trained for the slaughter?

I super enjoy making fun pokemon teams so here's another! This time its one of my favorite reds, Jayden

Arcanine looks very majestic and regal and I think that with his fire typing he makes the perfect candidate as the pokemon favored by the Shiba family. Jayden’s had him for as long as he can remember

Kilowattrel is a fairly recent addition, with Jayden’s symbol power getting stronger and branching into symbols of lightning he drew the attention of this bird pokemon who was intrigued by the red ranger

Umbreon was Jayden’s second teammate, an injured Eevee he found outside the Shiba house who he cared for when he was still young. It evolved into Umbreon after forging a fierce bond with Jayden, often staying up with him during his late night training sessions

Bisharp joined Jayden’s team during a trip away from the Shiba manor, she noticed Jayden’s flimsy sword skills when he was first learning and acted as a sparring partner for him as he grew up

Wishiwashi was a gift from Jayden’s best friend, a present to remember him by. Though he may not be the strongest pokemon Jayden never leaves home without his pokeball and he someday hopes that both he and Wishiwashi will get to see Antonio again
