Mozilla, in its finite wisdom, embedded LLM bots into recent versions of Firefox for the vitally-important purpose of… naming tab groups. Now, some users are noticing CPU and power usage spikes caused by a background process called Inference.

Ugh. Reminder again for Firefox users to visit your about:config page, search for the browser.ml.chat.enabled key, and set that to false:

If yours says true then double-click it until it reads false.

Doing that turns off the AI chatbot features in Firefox, but also the stupid new LLM tab-naming feature that's rolling out.

Fandom in a time of moral panic is so maddening. You don't need to claim something is bad or wrong to justify not liking it. You sure as shit don't need to prove something is good or correct to justify liking it. Stop trying to moralize your fiction, especially if you haven't even figured out how to interpret it properly.

Yikes about that take regarding Date Everything (from the screenshot not you), and as someone from the UT/DR, my condolences that someone like that is an ass.

Honestly, the more I see annoying takes like this, the more I wanna play DE out of annoyance.

yeah its so weird bc undertale and deltarune arent even the same game as date everything -- sure theyre both indie games. uh and there's a dating thing in undertale if i remember correctly (the papyrus dating sim is one of my faves)

plus ive been into more embarassing dating sims/otome games. god the normal boots one aged so poorly. please dont ask me who i romanced in that one

everything is powered by stupid people and even the things i like are ruined by dumbasses who cant read. people are individualistic and dumb, focused on themselves and never those around them. and when they are its mostly to make them look better. they dont actually care about other people they only care about themselves.

im just so tired and i wish that things would be better.
