“Good morning?”

The greeting comes out more like a question as Jason takes in the absolute rage radiating from Nico. Maybe due to the lack of conviction of his greeting, he gets no reply. Instead, he braces his lunch plate as Nico sits down next to him so forcefully that the table shakes. Percy, unfortunately, did not seem to have the same foresight into what was going to happen, yelping as he desperately scrambles to grab the handful of grapes that have begun to roll away from his plate. If Nico notices the commotion, he does not react. Instead, he pulls his own plate in front of him, summoning what looks to be an absolutely miserable piece of toast and grabbing a few of Percy’s runaway grapes as he starts silently eating.

Instinctively, Jason glances to Percy, the two sharing twin frowns. “What’s his deal”

“No idea. Moodier than usual, isn’t he?”

“Seeing as he just caused a mini-earthquake from rage-sitting, yeah I’d say so. You ask him what’s wrong.”

“Hard pass. He’s less likely to stick his sword through your ear than me.”

“Ugh, fine. That’s fair”

Jason clears his throat, pausing to look at Nico. Despite no sign of acknowledgement, he pops the question. “How’s it going?”

Nico’s left eye begins to tick. Unconsciously, Jason moves himself a few centimeters to the right, hoping that he’s out of any developing kill zones. Silence falls over the table as Percy and Jason watch the son of Hades nibble at his toast like an angry rat for a few seconds. Then, he drops the bread, smacking away some stray crumbs on his hands as he utters two words.

“Will Solace.”

Percy’s eye roll could probably be heard around the world. Jason doesn’t blame him—yes, he’s thrilled that Nico, in his two months at camp, has begun to make friends outside of their immediate questing circle, but gods above. He’s pretty sure he knows more about Will Solace than he does about his own life.

(He’s not sure if that’s more a reflection of the incessant mentions of Will or of the whole memory wipe thing but… the point still stands.)

Still, he humors the other boy. “What did he do this time?”

Nico tears off small piece of his toast, chucking it at Percy who’s in the middle of an over exaggerated yawn. Percy is unfazed by the assault, continuing his stretching with the food now lodged in his hair. “He woke me up this morning. Again.”

He doesn’t give either of them a chance to comment, launching into the story of the dark and twisted ways that Will Solace allegedly ruined his morning. Across the table, Jason makes eye contact with Percy again, and this time he has to bite his lip to stifle a smile. Because really, had it been anyone else trying to wake him up, Nico would have had no issues with sending them back out the door using any means necessary. But this marks the fifth instance of Will Solace not only successfully waking Nico up, but walking away seemingly unharmed and, if anything, pleased with his work.

Cute, Percy mouths across the table. He does a poor job of covering his mouth, but Nico is now so worked up by reliving the morning experience that he doesn’t seem to notice. Jason gives him a small nods, unable to tamp down a grin this time. Neither of them would ever label what Will and Nico have going on as flirtatious or sickeningly sweet to their faces—given that the topic of romance as a whole is still (understandably) a sensitive one for Nico—but it’s fun to watch things unfold regardless. They even started keeping lists of these instances, so that they’ll always have records of how absolutely down-bad it seems Nico is for Will Solace.

He admittedly tunes out a good portion of Nico’s story, mostly because he doesn’t trust himself to both process the story in full and look as affronted as Nico is expecting him to. He deems it safe to turn on his active listening ears though as Nico moves away from the events of the morning and more so focusing on Will’s Standard Aggravating Traits. 

“...least he can do is let me wake up in peace. I swear, I bet he’s trying to make my heart give out or something just so he has an excuse to lock me up in his stupid infirmary again. Which—oh, that’s another thing—how the fuck did he get in my cabin? Did either of you guys have something to do with this? You—Jackson, you’re laughing. Why are you laughing?”

Jason follows Nico’s annoyed gaze to Percy, whose face is now slightly red from seemingly trying to hold back a laugh. He opens his mouth to reply, barking out a laugh before poorly stifling it behind a series of coughs.

“‘M not laughing I, hm.  I just—on your behalf really I’m so…”

Percy trails off as he makes eye contact across the table. The two stare at each other for a solid five seconds before coming undone. And really, it’s not that funny, but between Percy’s poor attempts at deep breathing and Nico cussing them out while whispering about how embarrassing this is can you guys shut the fuck up, Jason can’t help the laughter that bubbles out of him.

The cycle of shaky deep breaths and painful laughter continues until finally a voice cut through their barely contained racket. “You guys good?”

Immediately, they manage to quell their laughter, though Jason almost falls apart again when Percy directs a dramatized shushing motion his way. Nico has ceased his complaining and cursing, suddenly incredibly fascinated by the remaining bits of toast scattered across his plate. When it looks like neither of the other boys are going to step up to answer, Jason takes a steadying breath, turning to face the new arrival.

“Will! Hey, man! Yeah, we’re all good. Just—ah, take a seat by the way.” He gestures to the empty spot next to Percy, ignoring the way Nico’s eyes immediately begin boring holes into the side of his head. Will grins at the invitation, sliding down next Percy. He begins drumming his fingers on the table, raising an eyebrow as he does a once-over of Percy. 

“You have some bread in your hair, by the way.”

Percy seems a little slower to recover his social skills compared to Jason, instead opting to give Will a thumbs up as he starts downing the remainder of his orange juice. Will raises an eyebrow but doesn’t push, swiveling his head to suddenly face Nico. Immediately, a broad smile breaks out across his face as he leans forward slightly.

“Hello.”

“No.”

Will seems unperturbed by the amount of annoyance dripping from the single word, reaching a hand over to Nico’s plate. He grabs a small crumb of bread and tosses it Nico’s way. For a son of Apollo, he misses spectacularly. 

“Sooooo, will I see you around the infirmary today? We got two new campers in need of stitches today.”

Will says stitches as though it’s supposed to be a point of intrigue. Judging by the way Nico actually glances up at the statement, Jason thinks it might have worked.

Still, Nico folds his arms defiantly. “You want me to do free labor for you. After you ruined my peace of mind this morning. Again. Third time this week.”

Will waves him off. He starts to lean back, barely catching himself as he seems to remember there is, in fact, no back to the benches they are sitting on. “I am your peace of mind.”

“What does that even mean?”

“Open to interpretation. Now, about the free labor…” Will shoves a hand into a pocket of his shorts, fishing around for a moment before fishing out a beat up wallet with peeling stickers plastered all over. He makes a show out of rooting through it for a few seconds before slamming down its contents, pushing it to Nico.

As he puts away his wallet, Nico glances at offer, unimpressed. “You’re paying me with five dollars, thirteen cents, two sticks of gum, and a…” He frowns, picking up a thin card from the sparse pile. “Is this a business card?”

“Oops, yeah, I’ll just—” he snatches the card back, not before Jason catches a glimpse of Cecil and Will’s names on the front. He has no idea what it could be about, but from what he knows about the two, he thinks he is just fine not finding out.

 “Well? What’s the verdict, nurse? Is this good?” Will asks. Nico makes a face, but nonetheless pockets the offering.

“Fine. But I’m not going to help.”

“That’s fine. I like when you haunt the infirmary. The younger kids listen to me when I tell them you’ll eat their souls or something.”

Nico glares at that, though Jason doesn’t miss the way the corners of his lips flicker upwards. Picking up one of the remains of his massacred toast, he sighs. “I’ll swing by after breakfast. There’s this incessant doctor I know, unfortunately, who insists I sit through this everyday.”

Will’s smile (somehow) grows wider. “Well, he sounds very smart. And charismatic. And hot.”

Jason chokes back at laugh as Nico’s face immediately goes red, throwing the piece of toast at Will. Unlike the son of Apollo, he doesn’t miss, though Will is unbothered by the direct impact of the food to his forehead. “Begone.”

Will snickers to himself as he stands up, giving Nico an over exaggerated wave in reply before sending more normal waves to Percy and Jason. “Well then, nice talking to y’all! Have a good rest of breakfast!”

With that, he heads out the pavilion. The second he is out of sight, Jason turns to stare at Nico. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Percy doing the same. 

Nico finishes up the remaining scraps on his plate before letting out an exasperated sigh, fixing them both with annoyed expressions. “What?”

“Nothing.”

“Nothing at all.”

Rolling his eyes, he throws a quick evil ward off symbol their way before standing up. To both of their delight, they watch as he deposits his plate and immediately beelines in the direction that Will had left. 

“I’m adding this to the list.”

“As you should.”

Season 6 is cooking so bad im crying oml. I gotta word vomit about it because i literally have no one to talk about it with.

So!! The side characters getting depth???? You’re telling 13 year old me that we’ll actually have an opportunity to connect to them 😭 don’t make me cry. Not trying to be salty, im genuinely happy we have it now. I understand their hands were tied up to this point and whatever happened between s5 and s6 did the show so good.

The whole bad parents shtick is getting layed on pretty thick which makes me think its building something up. If i had to guess its definitely has sum to do with Adrien. Im betting by the end of the season Adrien will finally admit out loud that his father was abusive (not just a few mumbles about him being distant) and it isnt wrong to hate him for that even if he’s a “hero”. In fact that’s what its trying to do, the story is telling the viewers that parents aren’t all that glorified and you CAN take them off the pedestal if they’re not great parents. You don’t have to love them unconditionally just because theyre family. People can stand up against injustice and the parent can face judgement and CHANGE. Something gabriel couldn’t do time and time again and i can only guess how that will blow up later.. so i think the reason why it frequently comes up so the moment Adrien actually does admit to the abuse or stands up for himself or comes out with his side of the story it feels much more satisfying and closer. Imagine yourself as a little kid watching s6 and getting the message that you can tell your parents to change over and over again and when the final episode comes out Adrien does that, imagine how vindicated you’d feel. That yes, STAND UP ADRIEN!! AS YOU SHOULD!!

Anyhow, another thing i noticed is how Marinette is somewhat almost always “responsible” for the akumatized person. I believe this is just Lila’s way of manipulating Marinette into feeling guilty bit by bit, slowly. Or when the ultimate moment to expose her or ruin her image comes to, she can show how everything was connected to her. I think the finale with her will be that she’ll try to ruin her image as Marinette just as well as Ladybug. If she were to expose her identity she’d do it in a way so she buries Marinette into the ground. Therefore she’d expose the lie she told as Ladybug, as well as how big of a failure she is as Marinette and that Ladybug is in fact “causing” the akumas. She’s obviously closely monitoring her life since all the characters that have been akumatized so far has been in her close vicinity. PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE YAYYYY!!

Also its absolutely unbelieable how pretty the show is. I dont care how much people bitched about how its not the same anymore and they miss the old one etc, i think thats just people scared of change xx. Its genuinely so pretty, its a work of art honestly. The way sometimes 2d gets mixed into the 3d is ☹️☹️☹️ my artist heart is squeeling everytime i see a scene like that. Like when Ladybug spins her yoyo:( its so pretty like COME ON how can you not appreciate that.

At first the only gripe i had with s6 was that they took away even what was left of Adriens personality. As someone whose rewatched the show a couple of times and is rewatching it rn aswell, its insane how much Adrien has changed. S1 and S6 are completely different people change my mind. He used to be so witty and sarcastic just overall a tiny prick behind closed doors. Now hes a little bit bland. But i read a post about Astruc saying the only person he has rn is Marinette, and thats why his personality is centered around her. Which makes a lot of sense but i dont think that transition was well shown, altho i have hopes the remaining episodes will build up to that. It was obvious to me hes traumatized and sad why wouldnt he be, he has no family left ??? But at the same time now he feels like just a side character. Alas, i understand in order to flesh out other characters and the story arc he has to be put in the backround for now. Just kinda bummed we don’t get to see much of him anymore.

Don’t get me started about Chat Noir ☹️ i miss him so much. But again i know why they’re doing it, they’re seperating Ladybug of her only support system. They’re trying to tie Marinette to Adrien and how the guilt with that lie is to be carried alone. Even when Alya found out she was faced witht he consequences: no one likes to be lied to. She cant tell Chat now, especially now that theres an obvious drift between Chat and her. It’s not just them against the world anymore, theres a whole team there now. Altho, this just makes her even more alone. Feeling alone with people around~ again, the moment this all comes to a boil, there’ll be 20 people around her, looking at her like shes the one to blame. Chat noir wont be there next to her anymore, hell be on the otherside looking at her, (feeling more betrayed than anyone there), trying to figure out who she is (not her identity, he just doesnt know Ladybug anymore, they dont talk, they dont interact, theres no us anymore, she made that decision alone-). It just isolates Marinette even further. My baby:(

I disagree with people who say Marinette lost her character development. In FACT id say what the shows doing rn is the best its ever done at showing actual internal battles. Its always been just a kids show so of course they couldnt go for a darker route or something that shows moral issues and heavy decisions. Little things like how they interact with their environment. Up to this point the story was focused on Marinette and her every day life usually a silly problem came up that was sort of solved in just a single episode, usually in the last 2 minutes of it. Now i feel like the whole entire episode is centered around the issue and its actually giving Marinette space to feel. For the viewer to experience the worry the anxiety WITH Marinette. Not just jumping between a silly problem in the city and Marinette doing god knows what. Shes just a baby now:( finally looking and acting like a kid, 14 and worrying about her boyfriends reaction to her sneezes. While simultaniously struggling with guilt over a lie that feels too heavy for a 14 year old. Her control issues isnt using Ladybug for her personal battles which felt just funny up this point but an actual anxious issue and her trying to make everything work on her own and keeping the peace for her own sake. Like if this ISNT character development (not in the usual way just simply the way its shown) then idk what it is. Shes feeling!!! Look at her guys shes showing fear, anxiety, anger, insecurity!! Im jot saying she didnt up to this point but it was shown so much less. Just little tibits. Now shes finally in the spotlight. Good for her!!

Last but not least my theory for Lila: i think shes gathering info (duh). Figuring out who is who in the class, obviously suspecting Marinette is Ladybug but having no actual proof for it. London special showed she couldn’t confirm her suspicion but she HAD the suspicion. Because when she did figure it out and see it was Marinette she wasn’t surprised. And how all the victims are obviously tied to her in her personal life, and how the villian itself has always been connected to her moral issue in one way or another. Lilas a good manipulator that way, knowing which buttons to push. I think shes just trying to break Marinette in.

also: YESSS I GOOD EXCUSE TO YAP!!! Im not good at explaining so feel free to ask abt some things you may have gotten confused on :)

Anyway (I'll be using their actual names instead of their human names for less confusion :3) yap session under cut

Question 1.

Honestly, death works mostly the same still! Every event thats happened in the SAMS/LAES/EAPS universe still very much proceeds the same way, just smaller aspects like revival thats changed.

-(1.1) Yes, Solar still did die because of Ruin! His revival was much harder due to him being from another dimension, but Eclipse has knowledge of different kinds of revival spells and all he had to do was gain the materials—the one Eclipse used contained using his very blood which tied Solar to the new dimension :)

-(1.2) Same procedure with the whole "New Moon" thing, but slightly altered; Moon sacrificed himself for Killcode which broke the bond they had (aka what ties an Entity like Killcode to a host like Max) in a safer manner because Entities tend to die when their host dies (something I forgot to mention in this post)... but since a new consciousness developed in Moon's place (aka New Moon/Nexus), Killcode did not die. After Solar dies, the same events happened with New Moon becoming Nexus, but instead of a chip that contained Moon, Moon was instead a consciousness that Nexus pushed out of his head that Monty quickly worked to restore since the consciousness was very much fading; Monty used a revival spell that made a new body (similar to Moon's) so Moon's consciousness could transfer there.

–(1.3) Bonus: Now that Nexus is technically alive via Witherstorm (which makes Nexus a Ghost-Entity of sorts), no revival spell was ever actually used on him. Instead, the Witherstorm forcibly revived him by using him as a vessel which is why Nexus's consciousness is fading.

There are many revival spells that may be used such as:

•Body Revival= the one used for Moon; revives ones body but with no consciousness. Very much not known.

•Consciousness Revival= allows to make a consciousness of someone who passed (with or without their memories intact) or a new being (no memories). More known but hard to do.

•Full revival= the one used for Eclipse and Bloodmoon (+Solar Flare); revives both body and consciousness with most of their memories intact. This one takes a lot of time... for most, Ruin does it with ease.

•Power Revival= Similar to how the Creator was revived, people can also be revived via simple magic or Negative Star Power (NSP), that is if strong enough—sometimes, the one who revived them may make them connect them to be a servant (like Rez and the Creator, or maybe even Servant Sun and Lord Eclipse).

Books about reviving someone is not a known one—in fact, theres barely any, but Moon managed to "inherit" one from the Creator's old office that the Creator thought was useless, and Moon merely told it to Monty just in case. Ruin, however, had to go through trial and error to manually learn how to do a Full Revival which was what he tested in his old dimension in secret, and he eventually mastered that which is why Solar Flare and the other two (three?) were easily revived.

Question 2.

Heres some direct quotes from my notes:

–..."At the age of 16 Y/O, Moon eventually argues with Killcode, and says in the heat of the moment: "Just go to Sun! Youll have more luck making him submit!" (Moon was angry and confused; he hadnt meant to drag Sun into the argument). Now, Entities dont like being challenged... but Killcode didnt wanna leave Moon either since Moon's body is strong, so Killcode puts a part of himself into Sun's head instead." <–(How Eclipse was made)

–..."Thats why Eclipse knows a lot about Sun and Moon because he has Killcode's memories on the twins's upbringing."

–..."Anyway, Eclipse doesnt fully develop until a few months in where Sun meets him. Sun mistakes Eclipse as just "the friend/older brother figure in my dreams" (since Eclipse only appeared dream-wise to Sun back then)—they got closer this way which is what I meant by saying "My human version of Sun and Eclipse being closer" or smth like that. At this stage, Eclipse doesnt have a form, so he looks like Sun but just older in a sense—he never spoke a lot, too (+no introduction at all), as he only did actions and all."

To summarize: Killcode put a part of himself in Sun's head which resulted in Eclipse. Eclipse wasnt exactly known until months later when he appeared to Sun in his dreams which then formed a bond.

Something I hadnt mentioned was that: Entities need to form a bond with their host to intertwine their lives and so the Entity grows stronger—their core (the very thing that causes their lives to intertwine which is what I meant by "Entities tend to die when their host dies".

Basically: the reason why Eclipse keeps reviving or having the ability to be revived is because Sun hasnt died yet, but their connection has weakened the more Eclipse has been revived—especially now with Eclipse being on his 4th revival. So now if Sun were to ever die, Eclipse wouldnt die as well due his more humane nature now.

Again: I am horrible at explaining, so if this is still confusing I do apologize! :'D

Singing, chanting, murmuring, announcing, praying, yelling - think of speaking it into existence!

Dancing, moving, exercise, yoga, clapping - As offering, or moving stagnate energy.

Meditation - Obvious, to clear the mind, and focus.

All your senses - Be aware of spirits talking and listen, or listen to the wind, talk to the wind, taste your food, taste the magical properties, see auras, see spirits or see visions, touch things and feel their energy.

Friends - Ever seen those "send thoughts and prayers" post? well that's because the more people we use for a spell, the more energy we give a spell. So if you're comfortable, ask your friends to send energy your way for a spell or wish you luck on exams, or jobinterview, or wish you a happy birthday, or to send healing energy by wishing you good recovery.

Charging, binding, banishing - through feeling, visualization, hearing and more. Charge your spells using your energy.

Magic with ingredients for FREE:

Physically you and people - Hair, nail clippings, sweat, blood, tears, etc.

Power of animals - Either your pet, or animals in your park, nearby forest, lake, ocean. Just being near them to lend their powers.

Botanicals - You can go outside right now to your nearby forest or park and pick up herbs, leaves, flowers, dirt, grass, etc for spells! You don't have to buy them

Your kitchen - You most likely have a spice rack and can use that for your spells, the same goes for baking items like flour, sugar, etc can be used. I know you've already bought these items and therefor used money but, it's free in the sense if you already had them.

The elements - Not just outside but they're also inside you! You breath air, your body heat is the fire, your skin is from and will be earth, you are made of 70% water.

Rocks - You don't have to buy crystals, you can find quartz in river banks and creaks or hag stones at beaches, or just rocks you like. from your drive way.

More magic for free I couldn't categorize:

Celestial bodies - You can easily work with celestial bodies like the earth (being that we're from here) and the moon!

Days and hours - Cast your spells on a specific day, no ingredients or tools required. if you want a spell of luck, cast it on a Thursday and so on!

Working with spirits - Talk to the plants, animals, forests, trees, your house, and more! The simplest offering you can do for no money is picking up litter in your are or forest or beach or park you like to go to. Dancing and singing are also offerings for zero money.

Thresholds - Cast your spells in specific areas like crossroads, graveyards, ruins, natur, or even in your own home such as casting dream spells in the bedroom.

Researching - You can find many online resources for free on the internet, from youtubers to articles, helpful image guides and blog posts. Remember to go beyond the witchcraft sphere. In order to find and identify the right herbs, learn from herbalists and foragers, not just witches.

Substitutions - If you don't have a certain thing, research and look further for something else. You don't have to buy that ingredient if you have something similar, especially in your area or in the realm of what you usually buy.

Low budget magic:

Tea lights - As candles.

Rubber bands - I always get rubber bands for free when buying eggs, and you can use rubber bands for binding spells or to hang your herbs up with instead of string and ribbon.

Tap water - Depending on your area i suppose, but you can use water for everything, even as an offering to spirits, they're probably thirsty.

Arts and crafts - Printer paper and pens that I've taken from office buildings that can be used to write, make sigils, and draw for spells and offerings.

Reused jars - From pickles to marmalade, you can save those jars and use them to contain dried herbs and spells. This can count too with bottles from vodka or lemonades. I use those bottles to store waters like river water.

Mentioned it already but... your kitchen - Your spice rack, baking ingredients, coffee mugs, glasses, scale, plates, pots, pans, knives, and more! I use a plastic spoon ment for soups in my kitchen for stirring my potions, I don't use those fancy extremely tiny detailed teaspoons. don't have a morter and pestle? place your ingredients in a bg and hammer it and role it with a rolling pin, should be good enough.

Even if you don't have access to nature in an aesthetic sense, there's still plenty of ways to do and perform magic. Nature still exist in the city. It's there in the dogs barking, the dandelion through the concrete, the bird shit on your window, the icy on buildings, the leaves on the ground, the pollen in people's noses, the sun in the area, the puddles from rain, the rocks rom car tires picking them up, the wind in your hair.

This is just what I can think of right now, I bet there's many more things out there in the realm of witchcraft for free because that's what witchcraft is. It's free.

Jason birthday

I'll hold your hand when i get my scenario out alright, don't misunderstood what im saying ok.its not a "ThE bAtfAM dOnT CaRe FOr PooR JAsOn" kind of post.

To put some context, i recently forgot the birthday of one of my closest friend because i had 2really busy and stressful months. Anyway all that made me think of how easy it is to forget that kind of things when you get lost in your little routine,when every day look alike but some how you still manage to get bad news every day, even if you think of the person like really frequently.

So imagine, the whole death followed by resurrection happens, think go how they suppose to go anyway, at some point jason and bruce are somewhat amicable and he pass by the manor every once in a while for XY reason.

Now you have to understand that jason birthday wasn't celebrated for at least 4-5years, because:

he was dead ,and it’s kind of awkward to throw a party for a dead guy. It became somewhat of a sorrow date ,but there was still one that outshined it , the day of his death. His family with the pain of losing a child,a brother,the guilt and remorse coming with it , preferred to think of the day that took him away from them rather than the one where he came to be. It become something that they brush under the rugs (because it makes them realise so much more fuckup things that they knew would ruin their mental state further ). Expecially as the family grows, nobody really know when it is and the ones who knows never mention it .

At some point of course he came back to Gotham but they weren't that kind of close anymore , he became something they knew they couldn’t accept, a guy that didn’t valued life enough . But it was still their Jason , so they had to shut down when they knew he wouldn’t back down , still to protect themselves from the pain. It wasn’t Jason who died tragically in front of them , he was red hood that they had to work against.

and even at this point in the scenario where they made some kind of peace ,he isn't a frequent guest of the manor. When the period surrounding his death anniversary arrives , nobody could find him , even in the back alleys and streets he made himself quieter and smaller.

And life goes on ,and that one day arrive, jason dont like that day but he make it through, visit the grave of his parent like he did every year since he got back to gotham. Spent a few hours on the phone with his friends who wanted to plan something later in the week despite his reluctance . Went through his old street, buy treats for the dogs there, helped an old lady with her groceries, play with kids at basketball and stopped a purse thief. He had done everything he could to makes himself forget which day it was and try to go the fartest away from the people knowing how important of a date it was,but hey he couldn’t push the forward button anyway so he would make it somewhat enjoyable .

20h00 arrive on the digitalclock of his appartement, since the start of the day nobody in his family reach out to tell him happy birthday, he is relieved he didn't want them to,right? He didn't go back at his appartement to make himself findeble he was just tired.

21h00,nothing.

22h00,nothing.

23h00,nothing.

23h58,jason stare at his ceiling, incapable of sleeping . Of course they didn't care,maybe his past was too much to forget.

Nobody hear from him for weeks after that , he wasn’t hurt just…busy.

Nobody knew why , but Jason wasn’t known for his social tendencies, anyway as long as he doesn’t get back to his old ways it’s ok. After all they had busy weeks and were too out of it to worry.

Rook Roost AU Information

this Post will be updated and change with time when new thoughts, ideas, and such are added

General Information about the Basis of the AU.

All our Rooks exist with one another. They no longer have the nickname of Rook. They make up what I can only describe as an army. 

They find themselves joining the Veilguard becoming Agents of the Veilguard (much like in inquisition) by their owns means. Maybe some were recruited by other Agents, maybe they were forced to tag along by their Faction leaders, or maybe they just joined because they felt like it. Who's To Say (you is who!) 

The main base of Operation is a Lighthouse Adjacent to the Canon lighthouse in game.

The lighthouse shifts to the needs of those in it. So if some need a smaller island away from the main building for any reasons it obliges. 

Joining the Veilguard + Factions

Now with our Rooks no longer being The Rook™ it means they didn't travel with Varric or got kicked out of their Faction due to the in-game reason that caused the attention of Varric in the first place. they Can partake in some of the events

I.e. have a hand in the war of Banners, help with the darkspawn, be apart of the ruin expedition, etc. 

It just means that they aren't the main cause of it. 

Names

now we talk about names. With each faction assigning a name to our characters you can handle it differently. 

You can manage to work it in with the others who decide to keep the name (being some distant Cousin somehow or being adopted alongside them) 

Or you can completely rid your Rook of that name, give them a new one or just leave them without a last name. 

With crows it's easier to work in as house names and all that, but if you want to switch your Rook from house de Riva and give them to another house you can! (I.e. switching them from De Riva to Cantori or Arainai) 

@elfmaid brought up an idea for the Veil jumpers. That there's a dalish clan that will essentially adopt those who want to and let them have the last name Aldwir (the name of the clan)

Canon stuff!

The companions are distant from our rooks. They can have some interaction but they aren't very prominent to our stories. They are busy and have much more important stuff to handle than slumming it up with the agents. 

This AU Is focused on our rooks and their relationships (friendships, family, lovers, enemies etc.) Bring in Canon companions' waters that down a lot because obviously we love them! How can we not!? 

Timeline

Since dragon ages timeline is the way it is so everyone basically had made their own. I thought I would share just a little bit of info that sets a timeline (loosly)

Viago within the AU is around in his early 40s

Teia is around her mid 30s 

Inquisition was 10 years prior to the events of the veil guard (Best explanation is using ages. Aria is 28 currently but when the inquisition started she was 18) that’s about it with timeline. 

The Rook™

After Alot of debate with myself over how to handle The leader of the Veilguard here's how we'll handle that.

Rook is an enigmatic force. No one knows a thing about them. Not their gender, race, Faction, nothing!

Which means that we can do the funniest Thing ever and have a million different descriptions of Rook and have our people fight over who they really are (making it a running gag in stories and such.) 

Big plot decisions. 

This will mainly talk about Minrathous vs. Treviso and how that will be handled.

This will happen chronologically. 

The only factions that will be there will be Crows, Dragons, and jumpers (unless your Rook found their way to veilguard on their own without anything from their faction) 

Each rook can chose Themselves what city they will go lend aid to (i.e. Aria going to Treviso to help there with the Antam rather than Minrathous)

So far There is no set in stone what city the main Veilguard Will have a focus on. But the idea is there will be a poll you can choose for your city to be saved because we love the city or against it for angst Potential. (We love Angst!)

The city will still be devastated but The affects lessened a little do to the aid from Our rooks. 

Examples

Treviso will still have blight but the Agents will have a hand at getting civillains out of there safely and helping with water and food. Less people blighted and sick

Minrathous will still have Venatori control but the rooks can help protect the ciztens and make sure they are safe while dealing with venatori. Less people killed on the streets and not as many dragons have to get in hiding. 

Removing the biggest damage completely makes the venatori, blight, gods and such feel not as threatening. Sure, we have manpower, but sheer manpower can't stop it all. Especially when everyone is split up in two different cities. 

Now on to Our Rooks YIPPIEEEE!! 

So i'll start it off with the Factions

Each faction will have one Advisor (and possibly someone assist them)

The Advisor's basic deal is to be the main source of information from each faction and to handle out the missions (side quests) that their Faction is asking For help with. They will be the ones in constant contact with the Faction leaders and in charge of reigning in their faction within the lighthouse (well trying to)

You can do it however you like. We started falling into posting an Introduction on what changes in their story; what their personalities Are like and how they ended up joining the Veilguard in a singular post. As a way to let each other get to know our sweet rooks.

Alright, I've been teasing it long enough. Anyone that's been paying attention has probably figured out what my oh-so secret project has been (not that it's going to stop me from vague-posting about it), and he really is close to being finished.

I literally just need to put the fringe on his scarf, but for whatever reason, I've just been hit with this wave of fatigue since about the time I wrote the last confessions post (frankly, if you ever see me writing/posting long-ass posts, it's because I've lost the energy to use my hands to make things).

I guess I just burned myself out from making both him and Kun3h0 at the same time, that when Kun3h0 got finished, my whole body shut down having felt relief from "completing" the project. To be fair, this has been going on since at least mid-Janurary, so I am more than ready to close the book on this one.

I'll try to finish him within the month, but there are also a lot of other things going on with me ATM, so I wouldn't hold me to it.

Something something TF 141 gets a new secretary because their old one decided to finally retire, and you show up.

A sweet little thing, no military experience, all shy smiles and nervous chuckles, punctual and neat.

You take care of their paperwork, their mail, schedule their meeting, bring them coffee, and most importantly it’s not half bad to have a good set of legs and a pretty face to look at.

Price was a right gentleman, a nicer boss than you could’ve ever expected from a military man, and Soap and Gaz really had your confidence going whenever they made their flirtatious quips (which was everyday, really).

Ghost, though? Ghost was exactly what you’d expected after hearing the stories: a stoic, intimidating man who spoke in grunts and monosyllables, and who was, in your opinion, quite rude.

Did the man have no manners? Had his mother not taught him to say ‘thank you’?

You tried making an extra effort with him, your need to be liked overpowering your annoyance towards the lieutenant, because you intended to keep this job; the pay was great, it was a short drive from your apartment and you weren’t going to let a guy who wore a bloody skull balaclava everyday ruin this for you.

So you smiled more, made your good mornings and good afternoons sweeter, same as the tea you’d leave on his desk everyday at 4 pm sharp, and the little squiggly hearts you’d draw on the post it notes on top of his files. 

And when Simon’s grunts started mutating into full fledged sentences, and he actually told you a joke, you found yourself grinning, more out of self satisfaction than because of whatever ridiculous pun he’d said in that deep, rumbling voice of his.

For you, it was over, your plan had worked, and now all your bosses liked you, getting rid of that lingering uneasiness in the back of your head. 

For Simon, on the other hand? You’d unlocked Pandora's box, if said box contained the lieutenant’s affection (obsession) for you.

It was true, he hadn’t liked you at first: you disrupted the routine, the practised flow of the office, and gave Johnny and Kyle an excuse to be fucking insufferable in their working space instead of only in the shitty pubs where they’d drag him after shifts. He was going to lose his fucking mind if he had to hear another “can’t walk into the office looking that good, darlin’. won’t let me get anything done”.

The worst part was that they weren’t wrong; you were pretty and Simon couldn’t deny that. I mean, what did anyone expect, for him to not shoot a look at your arse in those tight trousers? He was but a man.

But when you started your little routine, it sent him down a spiral. What the fuck was your problem? Why would you draw a bloody heart next to the note that reminded him about his debrief? 

What you hadn’t understood, though, was that with a man like Simon Riley, that wasn’t just being nice, it wasn’t getting him to like you. it was an enablement of his ugly heart, something that fed the flames of his desires, because why else would be making him tea? that was practically a wedding vow, love. 

So he decided that you were his, that he didn’t need to discuss it with you because you already worried your pretty, little head too much with work and what future husband would he be if he didn’t try to make your life easier?

That included tellin Kyle to fuck off when he flirted with you, giving you a lift when your car broke down (which had absolutely nothing to do with simon messing with its battery), and helping you find your cat when it ran away (the fucking thing had scratched the hell out him when he’d taken it to that alleyway). 

The most important part of his duties, however, was watching you, making sure you were safe. Because who was gonna do it if not him? certainly not your, in his assessment, untrustworthy friends.

And your locks were so easy to pick, it had only taken him one try.

So Simon watched as you read a book and bought the same the very next day, he watched you prepare meal after meal with the nutritional value of a brick and made a mental note to make you something healthy when he’d finally cook for you, and he watched as you came out of the shower, completely enthralled.

Unfortunately, he had no way of looking into your bathroom but you’d walk into your room wrapped only in a towel so he wasn’t going to be too picky. Especially not when he got to see you rub that vanilla scented lotion that drove him insane into your soft skin, or drop the fluffy towel to the ground only to cover the delicate swell of your breasts with your pyjama top.

His favourite part, however, was without doubt when you’d lie against your pillows, your fingers dipping below your waistband. His sweet bird, not so innocent after all. 

His body would burn as he watched, his hands aching to replace your fingers, his tongue wetting his lips because it couldn’t touch yours.

He held onto every tiny gasp, every quiet whine, knowing that he’d make you sound so much better.

But he was patient and he was going to do things properly, take his time: take you to dinner, buy you gifts, eventually give you the ring he’d already bought. He wasn’t a total wanker, lovie.

So for now he was going to be satisfied with watching you and stealing your panties, offering a gruff “morning, sweetheart” the next day.

Your posts are in an AI model

and then Tumblr decided to sell them to AI models.

Now, don't get me wrong, tumblr selling out the users to AI companies is bad, yes, they shouldn't do that. It sucks.

but don't lets get this confused: your posts were already in there. Tumblr selling them is about tumblr making some money and about the AI models having more exhaustive post collections. It's not about your posts being in an AI model, vs not being in one. That battle has already been lost.

Can you find your post on google? Then it's almost certainly in an AI model already. Think about it: These AI sites showed up before all the sites were making deals to sell their users' content, right? How do you think they built them in the first place?

They scraped the posts. Just like google and bing and such do when they build their search indexes.

It's a fundamental part of how the open web works: you want your posts on tumblr to be visible to users, right? You want them to be readable?* Like, look how much stuff broke when twitter changed their whole read-while-not-logged-in policy, ruining a bunch of thread links/NSFW links. And if it's visible, it's scrapable. That's what the AI models were built on.

I've done website scraping before (not for AI models, of course. I was doing search engines and website archival), this is just how it works. You hire a few relatively smart CS graduates and tell them "build me a scraper that'll give us a bunch of tumblr posts" and they go off for a month or two and come back with a database of a few billion posts, and you stuff that into your AI model. That's how they got all the deviantart and flickr and twitter and pinterest and so on posts. They didn't pay for them: they just took them.

They only ever pay for this shit because either:

they fucked up in such a way that the site might be able to sue them for taking rather than paying

They can buy them cheaper than they can finish taking them. Maybe they'd need to pay the CS grads for an extra month? well, that might be more expensive than just throwing the site a couple hundred thousand bucks.

ANYWAY: my point is, don't treat this "oh no tumblr is selling our posts to AI" like it's a big thing that might happen and it would be bad to happen. Yes, it's bad, tumblr shouldn't do this, this'll let AI models get continual updates of content for far easier than just scraping them would be, tumblr betrayed user trust, and so on...

but realistically, this is not a black and white matter of "if only tumblr didn't do this, then we'd be safe from AI models!"

Nope. We already lost that battle. I'm sorry, and it does suck, but that's just how it is. The avalanche has already started, it's too late for the pebbles to vote. * I'm assuming here that you don't run a private blog that's set to only followers or something. You'd be safer then, of course, but you're not really my target audience for this rant
