I think someone desperately needs to explain the concept of statistics to “men are more unsafe walking home alone at night!!!!!!!!!!” guys.
because it’s seriously concerning to see people endlessly spouting that fact and not thinking just a little longer about what that actually means. Ignoring the fact that I actually looked for any sort of study that suggested even remotely that men were more likely to be attacked physically, do none of you realize that means they survived long enough to report the incident? More men reporting being attacked means they survived the encounter. Less women reporting incidents doesn’t inherently mean they’re not getting attacked, it just means they didn’t report it.. wonder why…….

woe/rejoice. agori (and by extension glatorian) hcs be upon you
Agori exhibit subtle sexual dimorphism differently depending on which tribe they belong to (i.e. lebori males have brighter plumage, fezeri females are larger), while their bone structures are essentially identical. Gaquri are the only tribe able to naturally alter their bodies' production of their estrogen and testosterone equivalents. Actively transitioning and/or intersex individuals of any tribe can present dimorphic traits of one sex, traits of both sexes, muddled traits, or none at all
Their breasts are placed in the pelvic area, like horses, and the nips are the only visible part. To prevent chafing, lower garments have soft reinforcements at hip-height
They have short, nubby tails which have survived across their evolution despite having lost their original size and purpose. their movement is very limited and usually unconscious; since they remain the same length during all stages of life, they appear to "shrink" the more a person grows. children use them to better balance themselves when learning to walk
With the exception of Basari's and Fezeri's, Agori ears are very flexible despite their small size and can lean in almost all directions. Their shape varies across tribes
Their senses aside from touch are generally keener than humans'
Agori clothing tends to prefer function to form and does not have significant differences between masculine and feminine styles, although it wasn't always the case before the Shattering
Together with hugs, kisses and handshakes, each tribe has a unique display of affection or greeting pertaining to the head and/or face: Lebori preen each other, Gaquri rub cheeks together, Koniri gently nip ears, Fezeri butt the top of their heads, Basari scratch each other's nape, Potori shove temples against one another and Tapyri press the other's hand to their forehead. The gesture's intensity is usually toned down when done to someone of a different tribe to avoid discomfort or pain
If an object is in an enclosed space like a house, a vehicle or a box, Agori will point to it with their chins instead of their fingers
Vorox and Zesk still communicate in an extremely simplified version of a strict Basari dialect, although the phonetics had to be heavily changed to adapt to the shape of their mutated mouths. Malum has learned it and is currently the only fully sapient being somewhat fluent in Bara Magna Basari
Other tribes tend not to know Tapyri have hair
Koniri fur keeps warm, but becomes stiff in great quantities; Lebori down feathers are very soft, but struggle to retain heat on their own; Potori wool offers great insulation in most climates, but risks growing mold easily when humidity increases
After they (almost) went extinct, the sturdy carapaces of dead Bara Magna Fezeri were pillaged to make very durable high quality armor. because of this there are no intact pieces or Fezeri remains left, and the few plates that have survived since, no matter how worn or outright broken, are either made into family heirlooms or sold at exhorbitant prices. Sahmad has a large number of them (almost all buried) as he made a habit of targetting and capturing anybody who wore them specifically
Tapyri are unique when it comes to cleaning since their protective mucus naturally catches dirt and other particles for easy removal, meaning they only need to scrub or peel it off. Gaquri, Koniri and Potori take water baths while Basari, Fezeri and Lebori take dust or sand baths
Agori children are addressed with the pronouns ti/tir until they choose their own. its highly unusual for someone to use ti/tir for tir whole life, and the set is often used as a playful jab when a person exhibits childish behavior
Pregnancy is a very taxing endeavour: the process takes around a year and a half, but the parent's body will additionally need two or three years to recover from the strain of the experience as a whole, during which it will be physically unable to produce the necessary material to make another child. sudden spikes in stress or a constant stream of it during pregnancy is almost sure to produce a stillborn, and its very easy for older individuals to simply not have the energy to make it through childbirth once the time comes. this used to not be a problem, since Agori are very long lived and the whole planet was full of them, but the Core War drastically reduced their numbers and the hazardous conditions produced by the Shattering all over the planet made for a very dangerous environment to attempt having a child in, so births became extremely rare in the 100 thousand years before Mata Nui's return. the so called "children of Bara Magna" (which include Gresh and Berix) are few and far between, commonly having significant age gaps from one to the other
A wide number of male MU beings is perceived as feminine or adjacent by Agori, partly due to sexual dimorphism not being A Thing for most species, partly due to voice and countenance: Tahu, for example, is considered to be very lady-like. in his specific case this perception might however be also affected by the fact that he was modeled after Ackar, who used to be much more overtly femme in his youth* (check tags)
this is what ive got so far. peace and love on spherus magna.

This post has a ton of replies already so I don't wanna directly reply, but I still wanna ramble. But I'm not screenshotting cuz there's anything wrong with the post or person posting it. Understand? yeas you do
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Screenshot of a tumblr post. Reads as follows: I think that saying "it's ok to be trans and not transition" is like saying "it's okay to be gay and not pursue gay relationships." like. it's obviously permissible, it is socially normative, it is the expectation placed on all people within society. Honestly, spreading "positivity" about not transitioning isn't even value neutral, I think it's outright transphobic. End Image ID.]
This is a good point and all. But in my personal experience, there are 2 completely different meanings to this phrase both said by completely different people.
On one hand yeah transphobes say it to dissuade you from transitioning but importanlty, they are lying. This is not about them accepting you without medical transition, its about dragging you as far away as they can from permanent 'damage'. Ideally so eventually you 'change your mind' (Get sick and tired of harassment) and go back to being a butch woman or effeminate man or whatever.
But. But. This attitude. Trans people are not immune to this attitude. If anything it's stronger. If transphobes want to weigh you down on transitioning, sometimes trans people and trans supportive attitudes end up the opposite, where anything less than everything is not complete.
In fact, not doing a certain part of transitioning, not wanting something, is percieved as self hating, or agreeing with transphobes.
Neither cis nor trans community are terribly good for actually breaking gender roles, to be honest. There is a pervasive attitude that gnc people, visibly nonbinary people, are equivalent to more conforming trans people, just in the middle of their transition. That it is an awkward phase they will eventually blossom out of.
This is in my experience what trans-friendly actually means- People are okay with you being trans, as long as you eventually end up indistinguishable from a non-existent ideal of a cis perisex man or woman.
And so we arrive at another, completely different meaning of this phrase- People, usually trans, saying and advocating for it being okay to not transition even if you're trans.
Like, I think the phrasing is bad. But it's not the same as the other phrasing. And yes there's many ways to transition but I think it's missing the point on purpose to say anyone is talking about social transition here.
There is immense pressure on trans people to conform. If it's not okay to be transphobic, the next step is to enforce that trans people be as undisruptive as they can be as possible. This is bullshit. It's trans-accepting transphobia.
Trans people transitioning is the norm for this attitude. Trans women almost never pass in transphobic media, and trans women almost never don't pass in 'trans-positive' media.
Both are uncomfortable with the same thing.

if this is about trans men using (trans)misogyny to affirm their maleness, why couldnt you call it (trans)misogyny
if this is about trans men who hurt themselves or others trying to achieve an unachievable masculine standard, why couldnt you call it toxic or fragile masculinity
obviously being a "twink" is ok but if specifically a trans guy doesnt want to be perceived that way, why is it conformity and not gender dysphoria because he's being treated as feminine (even if male)? Aren't trans men usually called twinks if they're recognized as trans? Did I imagine that? Actually, how can a trans person's existence exactly even be conformity at all? If transitioning into a fully readably masc person is conformity, what's further conformity than "passing"?
Did i miss a part of discourse? Who are the tMRAs being referred to?? "tMRAs" I think of are weirdly against masculinizing for some reason actually. Even if I shift out of my view to people who could possibly be labeled that, it's not the concern that they're not masculine enough but instead the concern that their existing (perceived) masculinity (however you perceive that to be related to other factors) causes them to be hurt.
Maybe I'm underestimating the weight that being "weirdly obsessed" carries?
Trans twinks are awesome. I dunno. You don't need to be hypermasculine. Does this ring a bell actually??

The Duality of Man,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wanting to be charming vs. wanting to wear something cute.
As it turns out, as I've been inching out of the closet I've suddenly found I'm a lot more confident in myself. I had a job interview that went so well that I was offered a cooler position... and after the follow-up Teams meeting interview today I'm actually positive that I'm going to get the job. I've never been positive of my abilities a day in my life.

Rodger is transmasc (dandy might've helped with the literal surgey)
THIS IS SO REAL. ive had this hc for ages but like honestly ive been trying to figure out how exactly it would work... i like thinking abt how characters transness would really look, how it affects them and their lives etc
‼️warning for some mentions of transphobia/internalized transphobia!!‼️
with the toons in general its. Hard. since they have cartoon counterparts which presumably have the same thoughts n personalities and insecurities and emotions and everything then surely they would feel the same way about their gender that they were written to feel ? either the character was intentionally written to be transgender in the show or. yknow like many real trans people they just felt differently about the gender they were written to have. that they were put in the wrong body, that theyre forced to play a character who they arent and it feels off in a way. a "mistake" in their creation, in the way their cartoon conscious was put into their physical toon body. plus theres the issue that in the dw lore all of the toons were made around the 90s and regardless of the circumstances would gardenview allow one of their toons to change their appearance or pronouns???? would they not allow it because they dont want parents angry and they dont want kids to be confused as to why the toon in the cartoon character is so different from the real toon?
so... theres a few ways ive thought abt it but im really not sure which one is most appealing to me/makes the most sense.
a) rodger was actually a girl in the cartoons. pretend like all the posters and cartoon episodes depicted him as a girl!! but he was allowed to transition in his real toon form. provides some fun trans angst maybe because he has to stare at photos and posters of who he was meant to be and maybe feel a little guilty thinking that he failed at being who he was written as. has to deal with confused kids and angry parents because society is still iffy about trans people
b) rodger was written as a trans man from the start. possibly just some obscure lore that was never mentioned in the cartoons, at most hinted at, because they didnt want people to get angry at there being an openly trans character. nobody really comments on it, but since he has the memories of his cartoon counterpart he has memories of a time from before he had transitioned
c) rodger is some other flavor of trans (amab but doesnt feel masculine? feels enby or female or some other gender) but in his circumstances he cant really transition or even openly admit that he feels this way. just stuck in this body and cant do anything about it because of the environment hes in - gardenview would never allow it. (could also be that rodger is still transmasc, hes just afab and is stuck unable to transition in a different way, but hed probably look different and have a different name altogether)
if anyone has any more ideas let me know pleaaasee🙏🙏i LOVE talking about transness in characters its like one of my favorite things in the whole world.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is a list of realities i compiled from three lovely people’s dr ideas posts: ellysdreamworldd, deminetly, & lalalian. this post is a way for me to clear out my likes without having to keep track of the realities i’m interested in shifting to in a notebook i’ll lose or forget about . . .
Tumblr media
a retro high school/college reality. this could be a reality from any decade where retro still fits. the original poster wrote 70s-00s. i feel like i partly already have this with my twilight reality, it’s set in the early 2000s. but it’s definitely something i could be interested in shifting to outside of that reality
2000s victoria’s secret angel reality. see this is weird because i am a trans man. and like . . . the parts of my body that are inherently feminine and ideal for an angel, i don’t like. however, it can be what i like so put my ideal masculine but twinkish form in some lingerie and call it a day!!
professional tourist reality. a reality where i have all the money in the world and travel the world with no responsibilities seems SO fun! but like an ideal and bigotry free world. and also i get to bring someone with me!!
vampire reality. tbh i already have a few of those . . . but i’m not in love with them. that and they’re from pre-existing media, and i want one that i can really play with and make my own and just fall in love with my own mind and life through it, yk??
royalty reality. this could be so so incredibly fun. but i fear the way i view and picture a royalty reality in my mind at the moment . . . it’s off putting. i’d need a new perspective to look at these type of realities from before trying any world building or i may genuinely give up immediately
summer camp reality. as the counselors of course. like imagine being a counselor with other hot people your age and just bouncing from counselor to counselor all summer as we all sneak around camp after curfew and just go crazy!! though i technically have a reality like this already . . . my the quarry reality is basically this because i removed all the horror game elements. i should think about it more though for sure, that why i put it here
Tumblr media
mermaid reality. like genuinely the way the original poster described it as a the little mermaid kind of romance plot almost makes me not scared of the deep ocean aspect of this reality. but i love marine biology and marine animals so like i would realistically love this too. this is another one though, that i would need a perspective shift because right now the idea of this reality is off putting to me as well
magic university reality. quite literally just hogwarts in my marauders reality. but i haven’t scripted shit and i need to get on it. so i’m adding it in hopes that’ll change. it won’t lol
small town shop owner reality. the original poster said it was a flower shop. but the idea of it being like a small business of my choice, for example a metaphysical shop, and falling in love with the small business next door’s owner?? bonus points if it’s a tattoo artist i fall for, because why can’t fanfic tropes come to life!!
Tumblr media
planetary romance reality. described as exploration of different planets with romance specifically with aliens. and you know what . . . i’m not gonna lie. the romance with aliens is what sold me!! call me what you want! (it’ll probably be true) but this genuinely seems like such a fun reality to get to workshop!!
eco-metamorphosis reality. described as a world being colonized by aliens but instead of rejecting them you welcome them with open arms. and i was thinking this could be so fun to imagine a world that has coexisted with aliens for generations now, a good many years after, and how that looks and what daily life would be like
that’s all of them!! please look at their posts if you liked any of these and want to see what else they have shared!! i’ll tag them here so they know i used their posts for a sort of form of content @ellysdreamworldd , @deminetly & @lalalian !! thank you for the great ideas 🙏

Decided to migrate my insta posts over to tumblr as well!! 🪻🌻 (I also have an intersex-focused discord server welcome to all - dm for link)
[ID:
Purple and yellow heart illusion background for all slides. Reads: Unpacking Your Intersexism
Step One: How You Imagine Intersex People
When you think of an intersex person, or an intersex body, what do you envision? Is it an assumption of their characteristics and anatomy? Does it group ALL intersex people into one tiny box?
Intersex people come in a variety of shapes, colours and genders. Some may look exactly like a woman or man, some may function one way but look the other, some are a mixed bowl. Stop creating a poster child for what an intersex person looks like!!
Step Two: How You Use Intersex People
Have you ever heard yourself say something like "intersex people are proof of nonbinary/trans peoples existance!" or "kids never get surgery/hormones!" or used the existance of intersex people to fight/disprove or otherwise argue with transphobes? Stop!
Intersex people are more then just a shield for your arguements. Intersex people are not "proof" that trans or nonbinary people exist, trans and nonbinary people are the proof they exist!! Not only are you failing to acknowledge intersex people as people, youre doing a disservice to trans and nonbinary people!!
Alongside this, medical abuse is a common trauma in the intersex community. Many people are forcibly sterilised, have surgeries performed on them as newborns, and are covertly given medications or hormones to "fix" their intersex characterstics as children and even into adulthood.
Step Three: How You Relate To Intersex People
Ever hear someone say something along the lines of "well I'm Technically intersex now that I've taken HRT", "intersex people are biologically nonbinary", "I want to transition into intersex" or "this animal with mixed/changing characterstics is trans!" ? These are common misconceptions.
Taking HRT does not make you "biologically intersex", it makes you someone taking HRT, in the same way that taking birth control doesn't mean you're now infertile. In the same way, you cannot transition into an intersex person. You may have ambiguous, androgynous or mixed transition goals - and that's completely fine! But intersex is not the term you're looking for (try altersex!)
Intersex people and animals are not "technically" or "biologically" nonbinary or transgender, they're intersex. While some intersex people may identify with the term nonbinary, or even consider themselves a cis nonbinary person, not every single intersex person is nonbinary, nor does every single way being intersex presents itself look like what you're percieving as a "biologically nonbinary" body.
Step Four: How You Treat Intersex People
Think to yourself - are you asking invasive questions (such as their variation or anatomy)? Are you including intersex people in your queer activism or art? Are you consuming intersexist media, or media that fetishises intersex bodies?
Intersex people NEVER owe you any information on their condition. You are not owed their anatomical features, their intersex variations, their hormone levels or their chromosomes. You should not be asking if they're infertile, whether they can have sex, or any other invasive question.
While not ALL intersex people identify with the queer community, many do. If you create queer art, merchandise or anything else created with queer symbols and flags - are you including intersex people? If not, why? Do you acknowledge how bills will affect intersex people, or do you call them collateral damage? Are you lifting up intersex voices, or pushing them out of queer spaces?
Step Five: (Mis)Using Intersexist Terminology
Do you use h*rmaphrodite to refer to intersex people? Do you identify with TME/TMA, or force it on others? Do you use AMAB or AFAB as a catchall to mean "people with a perisex, non-transitioned male body" and "people with a perisex, non-transitioned female body"?
Firstly, h*rmaphrodite is a slur used against intersex people All The Time. Some intersex people may self-identify with it, but it is Not what you should be calling intersex people, nor should other intersex people use it on those who don't identify with it.
TME and TMA, or transmisogyny exempt and transmisogyny affected, completely fail to acknowledge the existance of intersex people. The terms are meant to refer to "AMAB" nonbinary and transfeminine people (TMA), vs. "AFAB" nonbinary, transmasculine people, and cis people (TME). However, many intersex people may experience transmisogyny due to how they appear, such as intersex men with typically feminine characterstics or intersex women with typically masculine characterstics. Transmen, nonbinary people of all shapes, people of colour and gender non-conforming people may ALSO experience what some may call "misdirected transmisogyny" due to how they present, but that's a whole other story."
AMAB (assigned male at birth) and AFAB (assigned female at birth) are not catch-alls for typically male or typically female experiences. Some people who are AMAB have typically female anatomy, hormones or life experiences, some are going to need "female" healthcare. Some people who are AFAB have typically male anatomy, hormones or life experiences, some are going to need "male" healthcare. AMAB does not mean "person with a penis", AFAB does not mean "person with a vagina" nor does it mean "person with tits" or "person with a period/capable of pregnancy". When you are making your info post or your sex ed posts, use specific language. It's not AMAB, it's "people with testes", "people with erections". It's not AFAB, it's "people with ovaries", "people with periods", "people with tits" (I cannot stress enough how much AMAB people can have tits).
End ID]
