Summary:

Not every Human is 100% human. Some appear to be, then around 18-19 they start growing wings - an intensive, year-long process that's incapacitating. It's just Luke's luck that he starts to do so right after the Battle of Yavin. And Darth Vader is searching for the Death Star pilot…

Excerpt:

Ben Kenobi had looked at Luke so sadly. Maybe he had known. The old bastard.

Luke knew, growing up, that chances of him developing wings were high. The winged weren’t very common on Tatooine, as most couldn’t afford the resources to help them survive the year-long transformation, but his father had been one of them. Anakin Skywalker had had the good fortune to hit adulthood off-planet, somewhere where he could ride out the feverish, weak, painful year with plenty of water, food, and rest. Luke’s own begging to leave Tatooine had been about becoming a pilot, true, but in the dead of night, he could admit to himself that it was also fear of the transformation, fear of sending his family into poverty to care for him, fear of dying before it was complete. Owen and Beru had had a stash of food, water, and credits that they thought was hidden from him, just in case, but he knew that they couldn’t afford to save up enough, not with Jabba’s water taxes rising each season.

At nineteen, he was the perfect age for it.

That anwkard moment in which Darth Vader was planning a soft take over of part of the Empire post destruction of Death Star I but was betrayed by one of his allies while Palpatine congratulated him for appropiate Sith behavior.

I loved Palpatine´s face here, it was like he was saying "not shit sherlock, are you telling me my apprentice who I have been grooming for years to be like me is finally showing signs of thinking like me? Congratulations Lord Vader, you are finally getting over your deppresion and acting like a Sith instead of a dark Jedi.

Palpatine is seriously the worst even when he´s not trying to be, not only does he enjoy putting Vader thorught hell, he openly wants Vader to be like him because he decided since Anakin was a 9 year old, that he belonged to him and they were kindred spirits.

Meanwhile Vader is considering if his armor will stand for another lighting attack from his master.

Still this time it seemed Palpatine didn´t really notice this particular event so his reaction is a mix between "Oh he´s growing up, I raised that boy well and now it seems I have to plan to seek more power because I want my apprentice to be my second in command not my substitute"

Their relationship is a toxic mess, It's like watching a train wreck

Fox entered first, undoing his helmet as he did so, with Veers and Piett on his heels.

“Cody,” he said gently and the man blinked, his face changing slowly from the stony mask of resigned despair to that of recognition.

He had a notable scar by one eye, and where Fox’s hair was streaked with grey, Cody’s had grey at the temples only. Fox was slightly shorter and slimmer even in his stormtrooper armor.

Then Cody’s eyes narrowed. “If this is a new tactic I’m not falling for it,” he snarled and inexplicably, Fox grinned.

“Good to know they haven’t taken away your spirit, vod,” he told his brother. “This isn’t a tactic, it’s a rescue. And we’re on a time limit, so I need to know how hurt you are and what you’re capable of.”

Cody still looked suspicious and flicked his eyes to meet Piett’s.

“Who are they?”

“Friends,” Fox said briefly. “I’m not asking you to trust them, Codes. I’m asking you to trust me .”

“They said you were dead. All of you. That I was the last of the batch,” Cody said, jaw working as he brought his gaze back to Fox.

"A Scottish field once home to mono-crop barley has become a pollinator’s paradise after intervention from a local trust saw bumblebee numbers increase 100-fold.

Entitled Rewilding Denmarkfield, and run by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, the project has also seen a sharp increase in the number of species passing through the rolling meadows after they were reclaimed by dozens of wildflower species.

The area north of Perth is about 90 acres in size, and surveys of bumblebees before the project began rarely recorded more than 50. But by 2023, just two years of letting “nature take the lead” that number has topped 4,000, with the number of different bee species doubling.

“This superb variety of plants attracts thousands of pollinators. Many of these plants, such as spear thistle and smooth hawk’s beard, are sometimes branded as ‘weeds’. But they are all native species that are benefiting native wildlife in different ways,” Ecologist Ellie Corsie, who has been managing the project since it began in 2021, said.

“Due to intensive arable farming, with decades of plowing, herbicide, and pesticide use, biodiversity was incredibly low when we started. Wildlife had largely been sanitized from the fields. Rewilding the site has had a remarkable benefit.”

Similar increases have been recorded in the populations of butterflies, with a tripling in the number of these insects seen on average during a ramble through the field.

The numbers of both insects are now so high that Rewilding Denmarkfield offers bee and butterfly safaris to visitors.

Local residents told the Scotsman that on spring and summer days, the field is awash with color, and hums with the sounds of bees and birds. Even as multiple housing developments expand around the Denmarkfield area, the field is a haven for wildlife."

I was thinking about how we’re all treating 2025 like it’s a magic spell, like flipping the calendar will fix everything. It reminded me of an old story about a farmer on the border between Russia and Poland. For years he didn’t know which country his land belonged to and when he finally found out it was Poland he celebrated no more brutal Russian winters. But the winters didn’t care about borders. The snow kept coming same as always and it’s the same with a new year. My family in Gaza doesn’t get a break just because the calendar changes. The hardships continue and so does the unbearable weight of not knowing. Two of my cousins were taken by the IDF a week ago, and we still don’t know where they are. Not knowing is unbearable. Ok hear me out: Narilamb but they're both aroace and in a qpr.

I've been rolling around in my head for like a long long time this idea that Narinder and Lambert could both be aroace and (after like. A couple of centuries or so) end up in this like very comfortable very close relationship that neither of them define as anything specific other than calling it a "companionship". But on the other hand most of the cult thinks that they're dating in secret or something despite the fact that both of them have said they don't take lovers, because they are clearly very tight but maybe not super openly so, so maybe the cultists thing they're being secretive and hiding something or something like that. Idk but my aroace brain loves thinking about extremely close (mostly) platonic relationships and for some reason my brain decided hmm. I'm going to take this and throw it at Narilamb and see how I like it.

So then I decided to make a ridiculous joke comic about Narinder asking Lambert's hand in marriage specifically because he wants to get out of paying taxes. Because like, I know that spouse followers do actually still have to pay taxes in the actual game but. Hey Narinder and Lambert have presumably never married so they probably don't know that...? Honestly the only reason I made this was because the concept tickled me and I spent too much time on this for no one to see it, so. This comic and all it's absolute ridiculousness be upon ye.

While there's a tiny part of me that's been thinking about making this into an AU (which I'd probably call something like the "Strictly Platonic AU" or something), I know for a fact that I would blatantly not do anything legitimate with it so.
