Oh, these are great questions, and I'm happy to answer. I'm going to be referencing this post, as someone asked me a similar question.

Writing for SPN & Starting on Tumblr

To be honest, I'm a bit late to the party when it comes to Tumblr. I've written for many different fandoms over the 15 years or so I've been writing fanfic, but I've been writing for Supernatural in particular since around 2015. I wrote on platforms like Fanfiction.net, and later I moved over to Ao3.

I dabbled with Tumblr starting in 2021 while I was working on a Billy Butcher x OC story for the Boys (And So It Goes). But after watching the last season of SPN, I got the SPN bug again, so I started dipping back into the fandom.

But I wasn't really that active on Tumblr until January 2023, when I wrote my first soulmate AU series for Dean Winchester, called Never Say Goodbye (Dean x soulmate!Reader).

That started a very fun journey for me in the Tumblr world, engaging with people and making friends here with awesome people! 💕

Now, here are a few tips on what I've learned in building my following. You don't have to do exactly what I did. This is just my advice based on my personal experience here:

Tip #1: Learn How Tumblr Functions

Everything has been a process of trial and error. I have a professional background in content and social media marketing, so that knowledge has helped me a lot with some elements I'll get into later.

But it took me time to learn the Tumblr landscape. I had to figure out:

Why it's important to reblog -- not just your own work in replying to people's comments, but what you read and enjoy. It's what makes Tumblr go 'round.

The different mobile vs. desktop views and functions.

How to format my posts and use hashtags that would best optimize my fics and posts, based on the most followed tags in the fandom I was writing for.

How to create design elements, like banners, dividers, and headers that matched my aesthetic and the fandom.

Make sure my blog is easy to read, visually, and easy to navigate, technically (links to my masterlists, series masterlists, tag list, my fic library side blog, Patreon, etc.).

I'm still adjusting all these things now and then as I figure out new ways to keep readers engaged, and make my blog as easy to navigate as possible.

Tip #2: Create a Tag List

A tag list is a list of blog users that request to be tagged in your upcoming fics. (See this post on tips for formatting tag lists and optimizing hashtags on posts.)

Some authors don't do tag lists anymore because they find it a hassle (and it can be), but even if you're just starting out, advertise your tag list -- I suggest at the end of a fic and in your bio, your masterlist, and/or navigation page. It will get more eyes on your posts, and hopefully more engagement.

I used Google Forms to build up my tag lists because it's easy to use and it creates a Google spreadsheet for you based on the responses you get (an idea I got from another writer who was doing the same thing). You can also create more sheets within the file to organize the responses by character, for example.

On my tag list, I gave readers options to choose which character they wanted to be tagged on based on the fandoms I write for. I also created tag lists for new series to go with the series masterlist. Like I said above, I created spreadsheets for each of these lists within my tag list form master sheet.

Now, you don't have to do it exactly this way. There are many ways to keep track of a tag list.

Some people may think my approach is too much work, but this was very successful for me in building up my tag lists and increasing my following. Staying organized is key! 🤓✌🏽

I have since created a side blog @zepskieswrites for people to follow with notifications on, since my character tag lists are full.

Tip #3: Posting Schedules, Announcements & Sneak Previews

When my blog started to gain traction from my first SPN series, I knew I wanted to post consistently to keep people's interests. For me, this meant once a week (sometimes more if the mood strikes me), to keep that momentum going. YouTube vloggers do the same thing for this reason. They have a set posting schedule and give announcements.

You don't have to post once a week. You don't even have to have a set schedule. That's just what I did last year to increase engagement, but also because I love to write, I was getting inspired, and I made the time for it!

Remember that writing and sharing your work and being a part of the fandom on Tumblr is supposed to be fun! At the same time, what you get out of something depends on how much time you have to put into it.

Basically what I’m saying is, I’ve put a lot of time and energy into my writing and my blog, but only because it’s been very fun to do it! 😉

Now, going back to being consistent. It can help you! When people know they have content waiting for them by a certain timeframe, and they see that you stick to that deadline, they're more likely to tune in and engage with your work.

Of course, real life comes first, always, and things can derail you, but on the whole I make sure that I keep my word when I say I'm going to post something. Tumblr has a scheduling feature that allows you to schedule posts ahead of time, which I use on a daily basis. That can help you as well.

To try and generate buzz around new stories, I give writing updates or announcements, often with sneak previews, and the dates when I plan to drop the upcoming story. When I'm writing a series, on each chapter I give a preview of the next one, so I can try to keep people invested and waiting for the next chapter.

Tip #4: People are Visual (Use Images & Design Elements)

A huge element of successful content and social media is visuals. The first thing people are often drawn to when they look at a web page, an ad, or any kind of digital content is the picture -- and any other visual elements. Then they look at the title/headline, followed by the rest of the story.

This is why I always lead with the title of the story/headline and a GIF or image at the top of the post for a story. Draw readers in with their eyes to the visual, and then the content. I now create my own design elements, including story headers.

When I got started here on Tumblr, I also took a closer look at how other popular blogs I admired were organizing their masterlists, formatting their stories with banners, dividers, tags/warnings, word count, creating tag lists, and more -- both to create their blog aesthetic and to make it easier for readers to enjoy their work on different levels -- the content itself, and the visual elements.

Form and function is a balance, and they should work together. For example, there are some design/post formatting elements that are getting popular now on Tumblr that I personally don't vibe with, because I think it takes away from the reader's experience.

Like making the entire post or story in small case. Readers that have trouble seeing small fonts won't want to read this.

or making everything in the story lower case. this just bothers me for grammatical reasons. guarantee i will be turned off from reading. 😂

Also, most people browse Tumblr on their phone rather than on desktop. (About 62% according to current Semrush statistics.) So certain things that are small in your desktop version will be even smaller on mobile.

If you have a custom blog design, some design elements may not transfer well visually on mobile vs. desktop, and vice versa. So you'll want to check both versions to see how it looks, and possibly make adjustments.

Now, this isn't to say you have to become a graphic designer if that's not your thing. There are plenty of people who share their lovely designs for free, as long as you make sure to credit them if you use one of their banners, dividers, etc. Check out @cafekitsune and @firefly-graphics, for example.

Some of them even take requests. Just make sure to check their bio to see if they state whether they're currently taking requests or not. (This also goes for writers on fic requests.)

Tip #5: Support Your Fellow Writers! Reblog/Comment on What You Read & Enjoy

This is part of the fun when you start truly engaging with the fandoms you love.

Likes are cool. Comments are wonderful. Reblogs with comments are awesome, because not only do they get that engagement/feedback that they can reply to, but the reblog helps your fellow writers get seen. And while they aren't obligated to, they might be more inclined to do the same for you.

You'll also start to develop relationships within your fandom community. This is how I've made many friends and gained new readers on Tumblr -- by reblogging, sharing, commenting on what I liked about the fics I read. 💜

I try my best to support my fellow writers, no matter how new or how popular they are. Just because a writer has a bigger following, doesn't mean they appreciate feedback any less.

Feedback gives us writers energy and fuels us to write more. It can lead to more inspiration, and to continue the series you might be so invested in.

So if I took the time to read something, if I enjoyed it, I'm usually reblogging it and sharing my thoughts, even if it's just a gif or a couple of lines, or a long raving review. 💖

Tip #6: When I Do Get Engagement, I Reply to Comments and Reblogs

Along with supporting my fellow writers, engaging with the lovely people who read my work is just good fun! It's the best part of sharing my work on here and on Ao3. And it lets them know that you value and appreciate them for taking the time to comment and/or comment in a reblog. 💓💓💓

Interesting, but the truth is, I'm not sure. My knowledge of content and social media marketing has probably given me a leg up, I think, even though it took me a while to learn the Tumblrscape. I've also been writing fanfic for a long time. Long before I ever heard about Tumblr.

I've spent years studying literature, creative writing, and screenwriting, and putting it into practice. I've spent years writing for other voices besides my own, outside of the fanfic world. Like anyone else, I can only go by what I've learned, my own instincts, my frame of reference, and what I want to write about next.

Like anyone else, I can only hope that what I put out there vibes with people and touches them in some way, enough that they feel comfortable letting me know what they thought about it. 💜

She'll wear the ghost costume she wears in the game and will only go trick-or-treating if you want. Otherwise, she'll just stay in and watch a movie with you

She doesn't know that much about pumpkin carving, but she'll try if you like it that much. She actually tried to carve one in the shape of your face but it...really didn't come out well

"Eh, did I scare you? You should have seen your face. Sorry baby, just wanted to see how you'd react. Oh, come on, you're not that mad at me, are you? Will some hugs and kisses fix that?

Kokoro mitsume

She's really not the type to celebrate anything except your and mikako's birthday or your anniversary, so she's not particularly excited for Halloween, but seeing you and her daughter being so happy to celebrate it changed her mind a bit

She won't wear anything, no matter how much mikako insists she really doesn't want to, but thankfully, you will for her. You even let your daughter choose your costume and try to put face paint on you...which didn't go too well

Mikako just dragged you two trick-or-treating with her and yamato (i headcanon that even in this au they're friends even if not adoptive siblings). Even if kokoro wasn't dressed up, she just watched you have fun with them and that warmed her heart

She also didn't carve pumpkins even if you insisted, but she did look up some cool designs to give you ideas... She also helped mikako carve her own so she wouldn't get hurt...and actually ended up enjoying it

She'll dress up as one of the characters she played in a horror movie (is it considered a cosplay if you're cosplaying as technically yourself?) with a costume that covers her arms, preferably And will ask if you'd like to dress up too,maybe as the love interest of her character

She'll definitely help you pumpkin carving, even if she's not an expert and might mess up She'll still have a lot of fun trying since it's something you love (also be prepared for a lot of pumpkin puns)

Setsuka is definitely a party person. She just really enjoys celebrating with the people she loves, especially you. Whenever Halloween comes up, she always has something prepared to have fun

She invited everyone in the class to a Halloween party and asked all of her classmates to dress up for it (she wore her oni costume) she made sure you in particular had fun and recorded all of the best moments with her eye camera so you could watch it later together (she also told you how cute and handsome you looked in your costume like 12 separate times)

She likes pranking/scaring people for fun with you and hibiki, even if some people get upset at her for that. She'll also try to do it on you too but only if she knows you don't get scared easily

She'll definitely carve a pumpkin too, she was already going to do it even before you told her you liked it, she made a really goofy one that made you laugh and was actually pretty decent at it

While hibiki normally isn't really one for big celebrations that aren't her concerts or birthdays, she still likes Halloween quite a fair bit. And she'll definitely enjoy partying with you

As stated earlier, she really likes playing pranks and scaring you, but unlike setsuka, you are the main victim of that during Halloween. She's not the scariest, which means that often you end up laughing at her attempts, which makes her mad and causes her to get setsuka to prank you even harder

She thought it would be funny if her and kanade dressed up as each other, which just consisted of them switching hairpins (she unfortunately couldn't do anything about the chest size), unfortunately, most of your classmates recognized them anyway

She didn't see the point in pumpkin carving at first, but after seeing some cute designs online, she said she wanted to do one too....it didn't come out great, but it's the effort that matters

"Hibiki?! What do you mean? I'm kanade.....o-ok sorry, I guess I should have expected my bf to recognize me.....but I'm sure I'll fool everyone else.....r-right?"

Hibiki dragged her, and you trick-or-treating with her (along with her boyfriend) she kinda had fun, especially because she was with you, but she mostly did it to please her sister. She somehow got you all your favorite candies and gave them to you... you have no idea how she got them or how she knew which ones you liked, but you're not complaining

You finished the day by watching a horror movie while cuddled up to each other. You never thought your shy and sweet girlfriend would be into slashers but seeing her happy is really nice

She also carved her own pumpkin. She was somehow really really good at it, even if she says that yours is far more beautiful than whatever she did, you still think hers is better....and she told you this was her first time holding a knife

Iroha gets scared very easily by practically anything remotely spooky, so usually she hates Halloween, but you insisted she celebrated with you and promised her that you would keep the scary things away from her, so she agreed

Mikado likes to torment iroha a lot, but especially today, he scares her with his magic literally every time he sees her, so you two try to stay very far away from him

She would prefer not to dress up (definitely not because she was embarrassed that the only costumes she could find that fit her were for children) but she'll help you design your costume if you're making it yourself, painting on it or giving you ideas

Pumpkin carving is actually the main thing she'd like to do, as long as you don't make a spooky one. She's not the best at using a knife, but the pumpkin still comes out really good, which you praise her a lot for. She appreciates that very much.

While yoruko does enjoy celebrating on special occasions, she kinda thinks Halloween is a bit of a childish holiday and doesn't give it that much attention, but since you looked so happy about it, there's no harm in celebrating more than usual

She'll make some horror themed drinks for you, and would love it if you helped her bake Halloween sweets like cookies or cupcakes. You two then eat everything you made while watching a horror movie

After a lot of pleading from you , she (kinda reluctantly) dressed up in her witch costume, she blushed a lot when you saw her with it on for the first time and even more when you complimented how beautiful she looked. She really doesn't want anyone except you seeing her like this, and all of the compliments she received made the embarrassment worth it

She won't carve a pumpkin, nor will she help you carve one. She doesn't really see the point, and doesn't want to get her costume dirty, but she will tell you how beautiful the one you made looks

There had been something off about you since the moment your feet hit the floor that day. Jack was freakishly observant and incredibly intuitive; it wasn’t hard for him to pick up on your odd change in attitude. Even the most minuscule things caught his attention. 

You forgot to put on your house shoes when you got out of bed this morning, and it made your footsteps sound weird. You didn’t put back the cereal box after you were done, he had to put it up for you. You left your hairbrush out on the bathroom counter, but you always put it away when you were done. 

Small things. Mundane things. And yet, they piled up like snowflakes coming together to form an avalanche. 

His pointed ears perked up when he heard your bedroom door click shut. 

You never did that. 

Something was very, very wrong. 

Jack’s padded paws were silent on the wood floors of your shared cabin as he slowly approached your room. His tentative ears flicked about in all directions as he listened closely from the opposite side of the door. 

For a very long while there was silence, and for a split second Jack doubted his instincts. Maybe his suspicions were just an overreaction, maybe you were just having an off day… 

Maybe it’s best that he doesn’t bother you. 

Jack shrugs to himself, brushing off his worries. He turns on his heel and is about to walk away when— 

He hears that first little sob. 

It’s so quiet, it’s clear you’re trying to hide it. A sound so meek that only a creature like Jack could hear it. It stops him in his tracks, the only thing that could ever still such a hulking beast. He turns his head back towards the door slowly, all of his senses on high alert. 

The second choked noise is clearer, harder to stifle, loud enough for a nearby human to hear. It only gives way to another cry, and Jack can nearly pinpoint the exact moment you give up on holding back your emotions. Before he even realizes it he’s back at the door, ear pressed to the wood as he listens. There’s a split second where he thinks that maybe, just maybe he can hear your tears falling onto your blankets. 

For a moment he’s at a loss. Emotional support has never been his forte. He’ll gladly fight for you, hunt for you, protect you with his life, but comfort you? 

Even his best attempt would probably do more bad than good for your relationship. 

He ponders for a long few minutes, soundlessly pacing back and forth in front of your door. He hugs himself with a tight grip, claws digging into his upper arms through the fabric of his hoodie. His mind is racing as he wonders what to do. 

Should he simply leave you be? That could backfire easily. He didn’t want you to feel ignored, and he’d feel guilty about just leaving you to suffer on your own. 

But he what if he goes in and tries to help? He’s bound to screw that up. He could just make things awkward, or maybe even make you feel worse. 

How is he supposed to figure out what you need? He’s not a mind reader, and it’s not like he can just walk up and ask you! 

…Oh, he…he actually can do that. 

Jack could kick himself for his stupidity. The answer was staring him in the face. 

And yet, he hesitates when he lifts his fist to the door. He has to shake off that last bit of doubt before he can bring himself to knock. 

The sound makes you jump, and for a second you wonder if you simply imagined it. 

“J…Jack…?” You call out with a rasp. The animalistic chitter from the other side of the door answers your question.

“You can come in, Jack.” 

You quickly wipe your tears as he slowly creaks the door open, as if he’s giving you another chance to change your mind. When you don’t, he carefully shuts the door back behind him before approaching you where you sit snuggled up in countless blankets on your bed. 

A deep sound reverberates quietly in the back of his throat as he crouches by your side, head tilting curiously from side to side. He doesn’t say anything, but you know exactly what he’s asking. 

“I’m okay, Jack. Just some…personal stuff. I’m sorry if I made you worry.” 

Your voice is broken and strained, and it makes Jack’s brows furrow behind his mask. He lets out another inquisitive chitter, but you don’t quite understand this time, and it’s your turn to tilt your head in confusion. Jack’s clawed hands come up to briefly sign: 

‘Wanna talk about it?’ 

You think for a moment, then shake your head. 

“No, Jacky, I don’t think I want to talk about it. I appreciate it, though.” 

He nods, taking in the information and mulling it over a bit before he proposes something else: 

‘Can I touch you? Hug you?’

You scoot over a bit, patting the space on the bed next to you. 

“Yeah, thats okay. C’mon up, Jacky.” 

He quickly crawls in next to you, wrapping his strong arms around your smaller frame. His movements are cautious, slow enough that you could stop him if you wanted to. You don’t, though; you gladly accept the gesture and return the hug. 

Jack pulls you down to him, bringing you to lay down. He tenderly rubs up and down your arms in the most soothing manner he can manage. You sniffle a bit as you cling to his hoodie, tugging on the fabric. The feeling of the worn material against your palms is familiar and comforting in a way that nothing else has ever managed to be. The remaining tears finally fall down your cheeks, and you watch as they soak into the hoodie. 

You don’t realize that Jack has slipped his mask off until he’s purring into the crook of your neck. Your hand slides up to lay flat against his chest, and you can feel the soft rumble beneath his skin. Something about the sound sends a wave of calm through you, the volume crescendoing and quieting subtly as Jack breathes in and out. 

Slowly you find your own breathing leveling out as well, allowing yourself a few purposeful, deep inhales that enter through your nose and leave through your mouth. Jack’s hand moves from your arm to your back, scratching up and down slowly and being careful not to hurt you with his razor like nails. 

You pull away from Jack for a moment to slide down, resting your head against his chest and feeling the vibrations of his purr against your temple. You know he doesn’t have a heartbeat—not anymore—but you could almost swear you hear a few thumps behind his ribs. 

Your eyelids begin to flutter when Jack affectionately strokes the back of your head. His hands are so massive they nearly engulf your skull, and yet you can’t help but be reminded of how safe you feel in his arms. Every little thing he does reminds you.

The caution he uses with each move is subtle enough that only you would ever see it; it shows you that he knows his strength, and that he’d never risk hurting you in even a minor way. He’s not warm like a human would be, but he’s been more than effective at calming your shivering body. He smells like your freshly cleaned sheets and the pine trees surrounding your cabin in all directions, with a hint of the dirt that never seems to fully wash out. 

Small things. Mundane things. And yet, they spoke volumes of Jack’s feelings towards you. 

In the arms of no other would you ever feel so welcomed. 

You lay there together for such a long while that Jack doesn’t even realize you’ve fallen asleep until he looks down at you again. He’s not sure how long your eyes have been shut, but he can tell you’re sleeping well. You probably needed it. He wouldn’t be surprised if your stress was taking time from your rest. 

He adjusts his position just a bit, making sure he’s comfortable before deciding he may as well catch some shut eye too. He plants a lingering kiss on your forehead before tightening his hold on you just a bit, and before he falls asleep there is one last thought that rings in his mind: 

There was a time when he thought he’d never be able to have this. There was a time when he was convinced he would simply have to tough it out on his own until his last day. The idea that he ever believed such a thing is almost surreal as he lays here with you, his precious human, his mate. 

Jack could gladly spend the rest of his life in this quaint little cabin with you, and he wouldn’t hesitate to say he was perfectly fulfilled.

Birthday Celebrations

A/N - happy one year of Hangman Junior everyone! I couldn't let such an important date slip by unnoticed, I know I haven't given Hangman Junior some love in a while I'm still struggling with motivation for the universe but I figured I owed y'all this, especially given how important the universe is to me. the first part of Hangman Junior was posted on 7th January last year and I know that technically it's not the 7th everywhere just yet but it's the 7th here in England and I've deprived you guys of fics long enough. Anyways, I won't ramble anymore, as per y'all, please send in requests, feedback and enjoy!!!

In the days leading up to your birthday, Jake and Bradley had been working hard to organise a party for you to celebrate your seventeenth birthday. They had managed to talk Penny into letting them use the Hard Deck for the evening, not that she needed much convincing since Penny was more than happy to let her bar be used for such an occasion. Then the second the Daggers got involved, the planning went so much quicker. Natasha helped Jake and Bradley oversee all the planning while the other Daggers were responsible for getting certain things for the party. Then, before the party, the Daggers, along with Maverick, Penny, and Amelia, were responsible for making sure the Hard Deck was decorated and ready for you and your dad’s arrival at the party.

“Dad, where are we going?” You question as you get into the backseat of the Bronco, harnessing Moose in the car seat next to you and glancing between your dad and Bradley as they exchange a look before looking back at you.

“We’re swinging by the Hard Deck really quick. I promised Mav I’d grab something he needed that Penny had. Besides, it’s on the way anyway so I figured I’d save myself two journeys.” Bradley lies easily, turning the key in the ignition and sparing another glance at Jake who smiles softly. Neither of them liked lying to you in any way but they knew the surprise would be worth it.

The journey to the Hard Deck was filled with music, singing, and laughter. When Bradley parked the Bronco outside the Hard Deck you were confused when both Bradley and Jake got out of the car and gestured for you to follow them.

“I thought you just needed to grab something for Mav? Why are we all going in?” You ask curiously as you open the door, calling out to Bradley and Jake who just continue to encourage you to follow them.

“Penny said she wanted to say Happy Birthday to you when I said we’d swing by on the way. Get Moose out too.” Bradley replies smoothly, grabbing Jake’s right hand with his left.

“Will Penny be okay with Moose coming in?” You ask, all too aware of the German Shepard excitedly pressing his nose into your back and lightly whining, indicating he wanted to get out of the car.

“When has she not been okay with him coming in?” Jake retorts with a smile as you roll your eyes, freeing Moose from his harness and putting his lead on before joining your dads. As you reach them, Bradley wraps his right arm around your shoulders to jostle you slightly before releasing you, and you all laugh just as you reach the door to the Hard Deck.

“SURPRISE!” You jump as the lights of the bar flick on and see the smiling faces of the Daggers. You glance at Jake and Bradley and notice them smiling down at you.

“So you don’t need to grab something for Mav then?” You ask, locking eyes with Maverick across the room and laughing softly as Bradley shakes his head with a smile.

“Happy birthday, my sweet girl.” Jake says softly, embracing you as you quickly hug back, both of you smiling. When Jake finally releases you from the hug with one last kiss to the top of the head, you move to Bradley’s embrace who also says ‘happy birthday’ and lands a kiss on the top of your head before he lets you go.

“Hey Hangman Junior! Get over here!” You turn to see Mickey calling over to you, hands cupped around his mouth to heighten the volume of his voice which in turn made Moose perk up at the sound of his favourite human’s voice. With a nod of approval from Jake and Bradley, you cross to the Daggers and are immediately tugged into a hug by Mickey.

“Mickey you literally saw me the other day.” You say with a laugh as Moose paws at Mickey’s leg, whining for attention.

“Yes, but it wasn’t your birthday the other day. Big difference.” Mickey replies as if it were the most obvious answer in the world, releasing you from the hug and crouching down to greet Moose whose tail swishes excitedly at the attention he’s receiving.

“I’m surprised you were able to keep this a secret from me.” You muse jokingly, smiling down at Mickey as he pets Moose.

“I only found out this morning and then Payback was basically babysitting me the whole time we were setting up to make sure I didn’t tell you.” Mickey replies, a faux-grumpy tone to his voice while he looks up at you and sends you a joking wink before returning his attention to Moose. You laugh at his words and look up to where Reuben is, who had clearly heard his backseater's words and rolled his eyes in jest. While Moose was occupying Mickey’s attention, you cross to Javy after locking eyes with him and his grin widens as you approach.

“Hey, Kit-Kat.” He says with a smile as he embraces you, his hold gentle and comforting.

“Hi, Uncle Javy.” You reply, your voice barely above a whisper as you hug him back.

“Happy birthday.” Javy says as he releases you, making you thank him quietly before being called over by the rest of the Daggers who trap you in hugs and wish you a happy birthday while Jake and Bradley go and join Maverick and Penny by the bar.

“So… seventeenth birthday… one year closer to eighteen.” Maverick mutters, getting a glare and a light slap from Penny while Jake and Bradley smile sadly.

“Yeah… she’ll be an adult before we know it.” Jake mumbles, trying his hardest to keep his sad tone from his voice as he watches you smiling and laughing with Bob but failing miserably as Bradley takes his hand, running his thumb over his knuckles in an attempt to comfort his husband.

“I can’t imagine she’d leave and never look back. She loves you guys too much to do that.” Penny offers softly, smiling at the two men who smile back gratefully.

“I could’ve sworn it was only yesterday that she was born.” Jake says softly, the memory of holding you for the first time etched into his memory like a carving in stone.

“It feels like it flies by, doesn’t it?” Penny agrees, able to relate with Jake as she reminisces about Amelia, eyes drifting over to her daughter who is laughing and smiling as you show off one of Moose’s new tricks while she pets Theo who is more than content to watch the younger dog show off.

“You’ve raised a good kid, Hangman.” Maverick says with a smile, clapping Jake on the shoulder as Jake lets out a small breathy laugh.

“I can’t take all the credit. I haven’t exactly been raising her alone. I’ve had everyone here by my side. I know I was an ass in the academy, and even more so when I was first training at Top Gun. But other than me and Javy, y/n had no one else and I couldn’t bear to leave her behind so I pretty much put myself over everyone I flew with. But now y/n has a family and people to look after her if something happens to me.” Jake says, the gentle smile never leaving his face as he watches you engaging with his teammates.

“Nothing’s going to happen to you, Jake. We’re all going to be there for her, and that includes you.” Bradley says softly yet firmly, pulling Jake’s hand closer, encapsulating Jake’s hand in both of his own and squeezing it gently. Jake tears his gaze away from you and locks eyes with his husband, softening at Bradley’s gaze and nodding lightly. Jake didn’t like thinking about not being in your life but sometimes his thoughts got their claws in and would drag him down into his ocean of depressing thoughts but he was grateful he had Bradley, his lifeboat among the dark thoughts, rescuing him and reminding him of the light that he had surrounding him in the form of his family and friends.

“Come on. Let’s get involved in our kids party.” Bradley then says, quickly leaning over to press a soft kiss to Jake’s lips before gently leading him over to the rest of the Daggers who are of course showering you with attention and affection. Moose was the first one to notice the two men approaching and made his way over to them, tail wagging madly as they both immediately reached down to pet him.

“Hey guys.” You greet your dads as they approach the group, seamlessly joining in with the conversations that are happening as they arrive.

“Hey, sweetheart.” Bradley greets you as Jake plants a kiss on the top of your head.

You spend the rest of the evening at the Hard Deck, eating copious amounts of food laid out on the table, singing some karaoke with the Daggers, as well as a usual sing-song to ‘Great Balls of Fire’ with Bradley accompanying on piano. You also opened some presents that the Daggers had bought for you, thanking each of them with hugs and appreciative words. Soon you all ended up outside the bar, on the beach playing fetch with Moose as he chased the ball happily before trotting back over to someone different and dropping the ball at their feet and waiting eagerly for the ball to be thrown once more.

Eventually, as it got later, people started to go home one by one after helping Penny tidy up the Hard Deck so she didn’t have to worry about it in the morning. You bid everyone goodbye with one last hug and a ‘thank you’ for taking the time out of their evening to set up a party for you before you head home yourself with Jake, Bradley, and Moose. When you get home, you head straight for your room to get changed into your pyjamas before heading back downstairs to watch one of your favourite movies with your dads as Moose lays splayed across all three of your laps and he makes sure to give the three of you his own version of kisses at random moments, making you all laugh as you gently push his head away.

By the time the movie ended, you were just about ready to collapse into bed and sleep as the exhaustion from the party and spending time with those closest to you set in. You trudged up the stairs with Moose hot on your heels, laughing to yourself as he began to nose the door open himself the moment you pushed the door handle down after you finished getting ready for bed, and trotted over to your bed and hopped on, curling up with a contented sigh.

“Moose in his normal spot?” Jake asks, appearing in your doorway amused as you nod your head, cross to the bed and pull back the duvet, starting to figure out a way to manoeuvre your way around Moose like a Tetris block.

“It’s Moose’s bed now. He’s very gracious in sharing it with me.” You joke, rubbing your dog's belly as he rolls onto his back, tail wagging against the sheets.

“What a generous pup.” Bradley teases as he joins Jake in the doorway, both men watching you slot into the bed alongside the German Shepard before crossing to your bedside.

“Did you have a good birthday?” Jake asks gently, smiling at you as you nod enthusiastically.

“The best. Thank you. Both of you. The party was amazing.” You thank both of them profusely as they shake their heads.

“Sweetheart, we wanted to do that for you. It’s the least you deserved. We both love you so much.” Jake then says, stooping down to press a kiss to the top of your head which is then followed by Bradley doing the same.

“I love you guys too.” You reply smiling up at them as they smile back. The two bid you one final happy birthday and goodnight before petting Moose and exiting your room, leaving you to go to bed. You switch your lamp off and lie back in your bed, curling around Moose who nuzzles his head into your stomach.

“Goodnight Moose.” You whisper to your dog, running your hand through his fur one final time before allowing your tired eyes to close as you reminisce on the festivities you held earlier in the day as you fall asleep.

You couldn’t wait for next year.

Also one thing to note, I basically had Dark Sapote finished months ago. I think you can tell by the way their lineart doesn’t entirely match what I do now. Literally all that was left was the sketch, which I did today. There’s another fankid in that boat, so she might get posted today too (among others that I just have forgotten to post)

But also on top of that, it’s been a good while since I’ve thought about Dark Sapote, so I may miss some stuff

Anyways, on to Dark Sapote. They’re half dragon and live in the Dark Cacao Kingdom. They have a more dragon like form they can transform into, though it’s more of a drake than a dragon, and they don’t turn into it often. They’re technically an heir to the Dark Cacao Kingdom throne, but they don’t do much of anything, so they aren’t really considered such. They also choose to live outside of the Citadel in a cave somewhere

Dark Sapote is extremely chill and often very sleepy, to the point where they’re pretty lazy. However, this isn’t entirely due to their nature, but rather due to the temperature. Because the kingdom is so cold, their body’s essentially in a low power state, as they subconsciously are in a brumation state, but also aren’t reptilian enough to actually go into it, so they’re just stuck like this. And they specifically have this problem because Pitaya is from a tropical and more fiery climate, and Dark Sapote inherited biology for a warmer climate, not a colder one. No one is really aware that this is the reason Dark Sapote is like this, not even Dark Sapote themself

In higher temperatures, they become more active and energetic, and in addition they become more powerful. But because they live where their power is dampened pretty much all the time, they don’t have the best grasp on their full power. If they were to go to say, Dragon’s Valley, they’d likely unleash mayhem with their uncontrollable power. Not quite sure how they haven’t encountered this problem yet, but whatever

They grew up in the Dark Cacao Kingdom simply because they liked Dark Cacao more than Pitaya, but they kind of all unwittingly created this giant problem for Dark Sapote, leaving them in this state

Anyways, on to the design

So Dark Sapote is a name I’ve had on file for a long time, after I discovered the existence of black sapotes, which is what they’re based on. Black sapotes are a tropical fruit like pitaya, and apparently when ripe, they taste similar to chocolate pudding

So to look for things to say on their design, I watched the time lapse video Procreate makes, and now I remember, Dark Sapote was hell to design. And if I’m being honest, I think the rough sketch is the best version of them

They were apparently originally going to have horns or a crown of sorts, but I decided against it or it just didn’t work. Side note, but I need to give my characters more accessories, especially in the hair. That’s how they end up looking so plain

Their hair is supposed to be the same between the sketch and the final design, but you can’t really see it with the pose. Apparently I tried other hairstyles that would make it visible but for some reason I decided against them

Their side hair thing is supposed to be from Pitaya, with their side bang things, but I don’t think I executed it super well

The colors on the armor were such a pain, mostly because Dark Sapote has so many dark colors, making them all blend in with each other and the black lineart (I only color it at the end once colors are finalized). That was what made me shelve them for so long, because I couldn’t get them to look right, until one day I came back and was like “yeah good enough” and colored the lines, and then left because I was out at the time

Also the colors themselves aren’t the most appealing. The green and brown come from the fruit itself, but they aren’t the nicest to look at

To be honest, I think Dark Sapote needs another shot at a design. The final product isn’t the worst, but it definitely could have turned out better. And also, I like their character

And yeah, that’s Dark Sapote. If you see a redesign of them later on, don’t be too surprised. But regardless, I hope you can enjoy them in some capacity

Well since it’s okay please share some info about your upcoming projects sorry but im too curious and excited for my own good and i genuinely love your work read every single one in only a week

Well, in truth, I have like 20+ fics that are technically WIPs, all in various stages of development and completion.  I tend to get way more plot bunnies than I can write, and my WIPs range from rough concepts to like 30k words or more.  So it's just a wide range.

As per usual, I can't shut up, so the details are below.

For the record, some of those WIPs I really really love.  Like I have a whole series of Shoupe and preseries JJ that I'm super excited about (their first meeting, the first time Shoupe realizes JJ's getting beaten, JJ taking all of Luke's pills as a teenager, and a few more).  I have one very well developed with a preseries JJ getting kidnapped by one of Luke's associates and Luke blowing off the ransom (spoiler alert: it goes badly for JJ).  And I have a few now completely AU takes post S3, one with Rafe getting revenge on the Pogues by going after JJ (forcing him to take an overdose of drugs, and it's so convincing that almost everyone believes he did it himself) and a Sarah and JJ as siblings fic.  That's just a sampling.  There are so many more that I can't even remember them all.

One idea that just got hold of me this week is an AU with JJ and John B in the military.  There are a few other takes on this on AO3 that intrigued me, and the brothers in arms thing could be so fun to play out with those two.  And I mean, the whump. I may have wrote a few scenes....

However, the fics that I'm actively writing right now.  I'd say there are four (beyond the car accident fic I'm posting snippets of and the town council AU I did a snippet of last weekend).

1. Best of a Bad Deal part three.  This one is still in the works though technically kind of on my backburner.  I have completed quite a bit of this fic, which spans five-six years after JJ goes into remission.  I think I have a cohesive narrative at least through the third year with a lot of bits and pieces completed after that -- including the ending, which I really love.

2. My long fix-it.  I have been actively plotting this with woudsohfiv and currently have probably 70k done.  It starts around the mid point of S4 and maintains everything we see in canon -- but adds a secondary plot that manages to subvert it completely.  LOL, I don't want to spoil too much, but it heavily involves Luke.  The Pogues will still (mostly) think JJ is dead while JJ hits absolute rock bottom.  This fic is planned to be the first of a series.  We've been a little ambitious with our plotting and have sketched out plots for three additional fics.  The second one will really dig into JJ facing his trauma and dealing with his family heritage and Goat Island.  I'm really excited about this one!

3. I write fics for my friends for Christmas, and this year, I have two friends getting JJ fics.  The first one is for woudsohfiv, and she requested an AU of the S1 ep where Barry robs the Pogues.  IIn this take, JJ goes for the gun and gets shot for his trouble -- and the Pogues are faced with the reality of what they were willing to risk.  My goal is to make it eventually fit back into canon, however.  It's probably 15k in and is maybe half done.  It will (hopefully!) be done for Christmas.

4. For my other friend, I'm going on one of her favorite tropes:  seizures.  It's a fic set in that happy 18 months of Poguelandia 2.0 where the Pogues get sick -- and JJ ends up getting very, very ill.  This one is a pretty simple straight up sick fic where the Pogues have to confront that they're not quite as together as they thought they were, and wherein John B and Kiara have to face the reality that JJ isn't really as okay as he seems to be most of the time. Again, my goal is to finish this by Christmas, and I think I can pull it off. This should be relatively short hopefully in the 10k range.

AITA for (among other things) being upset at my boyfriend because he got angry at a guy who (in a slightly creepy way) replied to an insta story of me in a dress?

(This isn't just an "AITA for feeling things" type of ask I promise, it's more of a "AITA for telling him I was upset" I guess.)

The event that started this was a guy from my school, we'll call him G, replying to my Instagram story of me wearing a new dress with "Looking good (name)!!" This wasn't the first time he had messaged me out of the blue, I don't know him well and the only time I interact with him is for a specific class sometimes. I had never replied to one of his messages and they just showed up as requests. The first message was creepier-- he replied to a pic of me in my prom dress, said I was pretty and mentioned my boyfriend by name (specifically it was something like "That's a pretty dress (name), I hope it's for a special occasion with (BF)" or something like that) which was really awkward. Made even more weird by the fact that I literally opened the message with my boyfriend as we were cuddling on his couch and looking at Instagram stuff. There were two more messages later, one about our psychology class (which I just didn't see until it was too late) and one asking how my summer was going.

G is a little bit... off, you could say. He's just a really awkward guy, and I don't think he was trying to be intentionally creepy. I really didn't know (and still don't know) whether he was attempting to hit on me or just compliment me as a friend.

My boyfriend clearly doesn't like G because of that first message, and was clearly upset when I sent a picture of G's message in a Discord server we're both in. I should mention that we are in a long-distance relationship now since he moved, so I couldn't talk to him in person about it. He's generally a very calm and respectful person, I've very rarely seen him angry.

After a minute he stopped replying to messages in the server, and then came back a while later saying that G wouldn't be bothering me anymore. I, now extremely concerned, asked him repeatedly what he did/said to G, and then he answered in DMs that it was probably better if he kept that between them, and that he hoped it was all okay with me.

I replied that "in all honesty, it's not entirely okay with me" and that I would have preferred to deal with the situation myself. Also said that I appreciated him standing up for me and that I didn't hold it against him. I was a little bit upset, but I didn't want to cause a fight or anything because I know he (somewhat) meant well. He apologized, and since that (yesterday) we haven't really talked. I love him, but I'm still a bit pissed off about this whole thing.

Today I found G in the hallway and apologized profusely for whatever my boyfriend had said, because I felt like shit about the fact that I had technically caused it. I still don't know what he said to G, but it was clearly pretty bad. G seemed sad and guilty when I talked to him.

The real asshole move from me was posting the screenshot of the message, I know. Frankly, Cube Anon, I don't mind your presence. I'm not sure how to feel about this from the archival standpoint, as on one hand, this does help unravel the mystery a bit, but on the other hand, I will admit this feels a little bit like unintentional triangulation. Which, honestly, I've used worse tactics in a self-unaware manner while completely emotionally wrecked, so I don't blame you. However, I will not let it go unacknowledged.

We do intend to publish this to have your voice be heard. And honestly, this mostly reads like... just a mistake? I don't know, even if it wasn't intended to be fetish-farming, it sounds like you got wrapped up in things and needed to dial it back a bit. Like you thought it'd make a good running gag or something and didn't realize what it came off as. ...Are you a minor, by any chance? Because that would explain it being intended as a joke, but unintentionally reading as fetish farming; something you were potentially unaware even existed.

But, in all honesty, if it was fetish stuff, general consensus - within our system and in the fandom - is to just commission as replied to in this ask you sent to pipartuuli.

It's because fetish farming is something artists really have to look out for, if this was fetish related, because like... you know, something more on the innocuous side like this when it's intended for fetish purposes isn't exactly something all artists consent to. I’m Rain, aka the Raincloud Collective. I’m 25 from the midwestern US (CST) and I go by he/they/xe pronouns! I just spent hours and hours on my Carrd so I highly recommend checking that out but I’ll provide some info here as well!

Technically I identify as a soft butch transmasculine m-spec (likely bisexual) fagdyke but I also kind of hate labels most of the time. Plus I’m a traumagenic system, which complicates identity a lot. I have been on testosterone shots since June 12, 2023. I am currently single and vent about it time to time here.

I am diagnosed with ADHD and autism (I do support informed self diagnosis however). I’m pretty mentally ill as well but am trying to recover.

I’m very “politically left” in that I believe strongly in human rights to everyone and all the nuances that entails (BLM, land back, anti-colonialism, and more). I believe that we will see a free Palestine in the end, and that that will come sooner than the world thinks. I do all I can to check my privileges, especially since I’m white-passing and come from the US.

honestly the two of you only properly met by chance, he'd seen you around every now and then of course but nothing really to warrant anything more than conversations about work

however, sigma happened to be staying late to finish up some work on a day you were working

an unexpected shock for you ngl, expecting everyone to be gone by the time you showed up and then just seeing a whole guy still sitting there

if he scared you he feels really bad and will apologise a few times 😭

i'm imagining a night shift at the agency as like; finishing up any odd jobs that weren't finished during the day, doing any outstanding paperwork and organising, honestly mostly just a role created so there would be people in the office at night to call people in in case of a mafia attack

so generally pretty slow. and kind of boring ngl, especially when having to do it alone

ever diligent with his work, sigma sits in a comfortable silence with you as you each do your own tasks, but when he's done and about to go home, he stops to ask if it's just you on this shift, and offers to stay and keep you company since he's not working tomorrow, so staying up wouldn't be so bad

sigma probably booked himself a lecture of "ok doing extra for your job is good and shows enthusiasm but that doesn't mean taking an extra shift unannounced and unpaid straight after your actual shift thats not good for you" from kunikida with that stunt but oh well

becomes a weekly thing that he'll just join you for that shift since he isn't working the next day

likes walking you home to the silly little agency provided apartments at the end of the shift- eventually, after you've gotten to know each other enough for that to not be strange

at some point he ends up telling you about his old casino, opening up about how he still sometimes struggles with trust despite the ada having been a safe space for him, and how he's thankful that he's been able to make friends with you and that you both enjoy spending time together

anyway so not long after that little heart to heart about being good friends you start dating- SJDJFJ

i don't think he's the type of person to make a big deal out of the fact you're dating- like no big announcement, not really any announcement. it's not really something he wants to keep secret he just doesn't want to seem like he's showing off

the only people on his shift who know are probably atsushi (sigma and atsushi are besties don't tell me otherwise), ranpo (because of course he would) and dazai- i feel like sigma would mention it to dazai after some time but he already would have known bc idk he seems really good at picking up on things he'd probably clock how happy sigma is about things to do with you etc

he gets super worried and goes to like stay with you if he hears that like someone tried to infiltrate the agency while you were on shift

like even if he knows you're not hurt. he wants to stay with you to make sure you feel safe and not alone

if you are hurt though? he's so gentle and caring. if it's not something so bad that you'd need yosano's treatment, he'll do everything he can to look after you until you're better

he's never really done this before but he's trying his best. and it's also really sweet and wholesome ;u;

someone needs to give him back the several guns he used to own (i still think it's hilarious that he's randomly pulled out 3 guns in the manga so far) though so he can protect you if someone breaks in when you're on shift together

i feel like stay at home dates would be common, they're easier to do with little to no planning and are generally more spontaneous which fits your conflicting work schedules

sigma also doesn't want you to be too tired out by going on a day out and be tired for your shift 😭

he'd probably also stay over with you a lot, not too much to be overbearing, but still often. as due to work schedules he wants to make the most out of free time- when you're willing- to spend time with each other

Lanford has been really sheltered in their Chantry (and abusively controlled by their Sire) since their Embrace in the 70s! And they've actually never had an incident of losing control to the Beast. So I think they'd say "Individuals are not monsters, that's simply a way of categorizing things which frighten or confuse us. Clinging to the belief that Kindred are 'monsters' rather than understanding we are a new life form with different needs and behaviors is like drawing 'here be dragons' on every map. It's just ignorance." Lanny is very fun to play because they are analytical and condescending. They HAVE been punched in the face by a Brujah for not knowing when to shut up XD

They know about the history of the Tremere as mages but they consider thaumaturgy to be perfectly consistent with the prior Hermetic practices, or maybe even superior since it's using the capabilities of vitae to power it. They've never met a mage before but they would be super excited about that! :0 Lanford has met fey creatures and gotten super messed up on their blood though.

Can I ask about Mark's relationship with his Sire? You mentioned his Sire has very powerful blood? (Or, is a low generation?)

OK yes so Mark's sire is super old idk why the ST lowkey gave special snowflake syndrome but whatever he can have a sire thats over a thousand years old as a treat.

gasp. yes, that means he was around when the tremere went from a mage house to a vampire clan. that's nuts! he was already older than most humans because he was a mage trying to extend his lifespan. thats how he's so GotDamn old.

His name is Julius. I think he's technically 8th gen but he did weird blood sorcery shit to make Mark essentially an 11th gen as far as blood potency is concerned. He uses Mark as a spy/errand boy but Mark doesn't mind because, due to high level blood bond, he thinks Julius helps him a lot (technically does ig) and is really happy when he pleases Julius.

He is starting to recognize that, rationally, the only reason to help him would be out of fear, but the blood bond is still there oc which makes it complicated.

Julius keeps him financially stable, will fulfill basically any minor request Mark makes of him, and due to his high position in the Tremere keeps him safe politically just by being his sire.

In return Mark gives him weekly reports, does various spying things when requested, (largely against Julius's rival, Gaius, which is a whole nother' story), and is basically at his beck and call.

For his part Mark is mostly in awe of Julius, terror in the classical sense; sees him as super powerful, wants to please him; but at the same time recognizes that Julius is fairly like, inhuman and awful, so hides how much he cares abt humans and such, in fact he kinda feels ashamed of it, which is sad :(

Julius had Mark's ex spy on him before his embrace/while they were still dating - he didn't directly do it, but ordered another kindred to get info on Mark and thats how he did it. Basically ruined Sampson's life. So yeah. pretty fucked. A quote that lives in my head rent free is when Mark was concerned about sampson and asked Julius abt him for the first time Julius said "You can have many Sammys" so he clearly doesnt like. get it. lol.

Day 001 - establishing

Alrighty! Yesterday was productive if I had to say the least, I am glad when I talk to someone who gets my ideas, so I'm involved in the backend along with databases and anything devOps and AI related. My teammate is a stallion!!! I'm so glad there's someone who makes up for my coding skills, its very weird still, I USED TO BE ABLE TO CODE FOR HOURS AND HOURS... okay I think mostly because I used to program for hours either with Java or C++, and bare bone Javascript, so maybe web development wasn't my strong suit.

But I'm good at understanding and making designs for code, so I'm very involved in seeing the bigger picture and he'll just do the painting. Here's a screen shot of how our backend looks like, so I'm brush it up since its a bit of mess right now

I'm using drawio because lucid just wasn't working for me, I kept running out of shapes, I'd say lucid is good when it comes to making final designs but drawio has that technical feel I like.

RabbitMQ is just so sexy oh my goodness, it allows for simple and fast communication between services. Its free tier is enough for what I need.

I want to learn PostgreSQL so bad, but I can't because we're on a time crunch and we'll just switch to MySQL for each service using an SQL database, since there's going to be data replication across these services, to maintain synchronized data across all services, RabbitMQ comes in the rescue. I hope it can handle, but since we'll starting off with a relatively small userbase, I doubt we'll run into problems, but if it happens we run into issues, I think switching to Kafka might be better since it has like faster reads (thanks to fewer systemcalls within its architecture)

Firestore is very useful and easy to setup, that reliability is useful for our messaging and posting of images, and also Firebase storage as well, that's so cool!!! I'm still working on the designs

I'm still working on the schemas using drawsql website, the reason for the SQL is because its easier to model friendships, invitations, requests, way better than a NoSQL solution, I want to see what Neo4j can do but again I'm trying to keep things simple. I'll also switch to drawio for doing the ER diagrams because drawSQL has limits and I'm a cheapskate

I made use of freesqldatabase.com for a temporary online database we can quickly use, but this limits the choices for ORMs, since we're using NodeJS we can't make use of Prisma since it requires permissions/privileges that the website doesn't offer, but I'm working on making use of google cloud's free e2 instances to host the database, and if that works we finally have our development database!

I still haven't talked to my client, I'd rather someone from frontend do it, I hope they can finally start working together because I can't with this leadership biz! I am reading this leadership guide book, hopefully I learn something.

I've been also looking at buying some light novels for either rezero or overlord, boy boy boy which do I get??? I honestly don't know, but I"ll figure it out later. I can't wait to go a pawn shop and see what cheap board games I can buy, I'm so excited! But that will be a while.

Well my goals today are simple:

Finalize the schemas for the SQL databases and deploy the databases (or I can be cheap and deploy one instance and host 2 databases :D running two docker containers that have mysql on the same e2 instance and then mapping their default 3306 ports to two ports on the instance and then connecting globally! That's so brilliant I'm so cheap HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!)

Draw up class diagrams for each service, making use of proper design patterns to make the code more neat

Have a meeting with my guy again and see where we go from there

Most posts aren't aimed at/about CQL/The Untamed, which is why I never use the tag. I never finished it & don't want to catfish a whole nother fanbase.

The only exception to the rule above are the songs, which I've always been fond of. So, if you notice characterization in any variant of any char that feels related: this is why.

All posts are based on novel canon, but they're rarely to never a direct reflection of or link to it - reason why is that the posts stem from a point of dissatisfaction with canon.

Based on above: all posts are AU's (modern or not), Fix-It's, Headcanon's, Canon Divergences & the likes.

This is not me hating on canon, I simply have other priorities, options, etc than MXTX. I'm not her, her base exists, I just do my thing with it - or that of people that request things, to the best of my abilties at the time.

While there are certain key elements of the chars that I'll always implement, it rarely ever happens that 2 posts of mine share the same exact base for virtually anything - from motivations, goals, relationships, trauma healing stages, etc.

As I'm actively trying to distance from canon to create a safe space for all chars & ships, please keep the points above in mind.

In short: canon is canon, this ain't canon. This a space for love, healing & peace.

Please note that I'm not pushing anything into canon, I honestly don't even ship anything in canon/with the full canon base - no, not even WangXian.

The list of the following ships weren't chosen by me, they just planted themselves in my head & haven't left since: XiCheng, NHS/WN, WQ/NMJ, JXY/JL.

The ships mentioned are just the one's that come/came naturally to me, however, I get ideas for whatever - also WangXian. I don't mind any ship, really, my strong point's m/m though.

As I'm trying to reclaim my "safe space" zone, please note that you can send me any sort of request anytime - through dm, anon, etc.

I have few to no triggers/no go's: shady consent (reason why I don't ship WX), actual bloodline inces* & adult/minor (age of consent is 16 in my country, so that's what I'm used to). If you request something that technically involves a base like that (WX, JGY/QS etc as examples) just know that I'll automatically adjust it to something more appropriate.

So far I haven't turned down a single request, so don't worry about stuff like thinking it's silly or whatever.

Please note that I'm rather bad at keeping writings short, my stuff's mostly 1.2k+ words & that's leaving out a lot that can be left out without sabotaging anything too much.

In a load of my stuff WWX & JC aren't related at all, never were.

The chars vary from canon in varying degrees, depending on the base - as my thing is to handle the trauma, make them grow, etc. Also, because often times the plots either de-traumatizes the chars or they mess with them in different ways.

All right, I made her, this is Snowdrop Cookie

So as for her name, it’s mostly because snowdrops are white flowers, and the Dark Cacao Kingdom has a lot of snow. I was going to originally go with chocolate lilies, but then I looked at the two and realized that their kid would probably have white hair, whereas chocolate lilies are a dark brown, so I went with snowdrops instead

I’m gonna be completely honest, I think I should have spent more time on her design. I’m not too satisfied with it, and honestly I think I kind of rushed it, just because I had some ideas for her today. Her hair’s…good I suppose, and I definitely plan on keeping the eye shape. I added the black streaks so she’d bear more resemblance to her father. I was also debating between a bun or a ponytail, but my friend said ponytail was better, so I did that. Originally I planned to have her hair all down, but I couldn’t get it to look right. But as for her outfit, I really didn’t think about it as much as I should have. I wanted to incorporate snowdrops into her design, but I couldn’t figure out how, so I sort of gave her a cloak/scarf that resembles it, and then I just came up with something random for the rest of it that looked like the rest of the Dark Cacao Kingdom, since that’s where she lives. And as for the colors, I just sort of went with whatever random thing I could think of, mainly just giving her White Lily’s colors

Yeah, I definitely think I’m gonna redesign her and give her more time to actually be fleshed out in my head. I’ll probably draw her more as I flesh her out

Also technically what you see here isn’t what she looks like in “current day” Kingdom. This is her when she’s around 20 or so. In current day, she’s more around her mid 40s (though granted I’m not sure how to portray that), but we’ll get to that

So as for her character, so I was going to say that nothing much had changed since I talked about her this morning, and that I hadn’t fleshed her out at all, but while making this post I took a break and started thinking of her more. So what I say may not be accurate to the picture shown

Anyways, so the things I said before still apply. Snowdrop is the princess of the Dark Cacao Kingdom, and is Dark Choco’s older half sister. Though their age gap is a lot bigger than the other half siblings I’ve made for him (at least for now, I think the affocao one is going to have them beat out), with her being around 15 years older, or whatever Cookie terms that applies to, since she would have been around pre Dark Enchantress, but Dark Choco would be very young at the time of the Dark Flour War, which from what I understand has a few centuries in between them. But whatever, the timeline of Cookie Run is weird. Let’s just say she’s 15 years older and move on

So with this large age gap, while yes she was close to her little brother, she tended to be closer to a babysitter than just an older sister, given she’d be an adult by the time he’s like 3. Given Dark Choco had very little frame of reference for sibling relationships, he never saw this as weird

Anyways so let’s move on to Snowdrop on her own. …Okay I’ll be honest, I don’t have much on her personality other than she’s sweet and a bit timid at times. I think I’m also going to keep the aspect that she helped with the physicians in the Citadel, possibly learning parts of their trade. However, don’t take her somewhat meek appearance as a sign she’s not a threat, she’s still a Dark Cacao warrior, and one trained by Dark Cacao at that. She’s absolutely nasty with a dagger, her preferred weapon of choice. Also, she’s not short, not by a long shot, with her height rivaling that of her father, meaning she towers over most people. She’s just a bit lanky

Anyways, so one day, back when Dark Choco was young, around 5 or so (but after White Lily disappeared), Snowdrop suddenly disappeared without a trace, and she hasn’t been seen since. The last person to see her was Dark Choco, where the previous night, he had gone out of his room for a glass of milk, only to see Snowdrop sneaking through the halls wrapped in a cloak. He asked where she was going and she said she was just planning on going out for a little evening stroll outside the castle. She helped him get his glass and tucked him back in bed, telling him to keep her walk a little secret between him, before kissing him goodnight. The morning after, no one could find him. Eventually after a few days, Dark Choco felt bad and that maybe something had happened, and told his dad that she said she had gone out for a walk, but still no trace of her could be found. No one knows why she left, but Dark Cacao can’t help but blame himself (also in truth I haven’t figured out why she left either. Maybe something to do with her mom. I just wanted her to be missing). If she ever returns, and especially after the incident with Dark Choco, Dark Cacao will keep his gates open

I may end up drawing her post-disappearance, but I haven’t decided

But yeah, that’s Snowdrop. Definitely feel like I should have spent more time on her, but I hope you still like her regardless
