ppl calling desire 'sly blue' and not getting that desire IS aoba is my biggest pet peeve of the dmmd fandom
Well thats just what the fandom has been calling him to differentiate between both aobas for well over a decade atp so I don't really have a problem with that myself but not my favorite name for him. Tbh even "desire" as a name is hard to take seriously, I prefer when he's just called "aoba" (which. yk. is his name) in fics, but thats more rare since they usually are treated like separate people
I get that aoba has long since been diagnosed with DID by the fandom, but even WITH that desire's entire identity surrounds the fact that he IS aoba. His reason side was in denial about it for a lot of the game but aoba fully acknowledged they were the same person. And iirc he literally refers to him as "me" at several points so I have no idea where that misconception comes from
#Ask#Anonymous#I think it's just intentional ignorance atp#because desire being the same person/his own individual/and a separate character are all true statements#and this is gonna be a little controversial but I dont reaaaally fuck with the DID headcanon that much#like textbook yeah i think he displays the symptoms of that disorder I just genuinely believe that wasn't what the writers were going for#with the supernatural/sci-fi aspects it really just feels like another one of those conclusions that fall under Possible but not Definitive#again I think he pretty blatantly displays those symptoms and dont disagree#tbh my main dislike of it is how much it's used as a crutch in fanfiction that doesn't always accurately reflect aoba or desire's characters#but I hesitate to treat it as fact

hi tumblr users i'm sorry to be an editor a linguistic hater but can we as a collective PLEASE stop starting passionate sentences with a wistful sighing "Oh," in an attempt to sound irreverent or deep... it's such a tumblr and fanfic specific writing quirk and every time i read it i fight the urge to roll my eyes. maybe once upon a time it was effective when used incredibly sparingly in only the most dramatic contexts but it has been overused by the melodramatic gay writing community to the point of unintentional parody. i say this as a lifetime member of the melodramatic gay writing community trying to save my brethren
#writing#do people actually talk like that#if someone wistfully said Oh to me before expressing a sentiment i feel like it would sound soooo stupid#Oh used as an interjection of surprise or preceding a sentence to indicate dismissive or excited new knowledge#is common normal fine etc#but a wistful impassioned irreverent Oh starting some very emotional or poetic statement#bffr it will always make me cringe#first possibly controversial take i have ever posted and mayhaps will ever post#but i need people to reflect on this PLEASE.... End The Cycle guys

Nanami is more of a listener than a talker, and would happily listen to you ramble on and on about anything that would pop into your mind. And no matter how little it really concerns him, he’ll always pay attention to when you explain something so enthusiastically — even if it’s a silly internet trend or drama.
Nanami is definitely not the guy to have TikTok, but would on occasion lift his attention from his book when you’re both laying in bed to quietly watch along for a few minutes.
Nanami is not the type of guy to really form any defining opinion on said internet controversies — except the videos of grooms disrespecting their brides at the alter in their vows. When you tell him about the men who only spew vulgar statements to their future wives, you witness Nanami get incredibly angry, going on a long and serious tangent about how these boys are immature and have no business getting married at all.
Nanami is the type of guy who would spontaneously pull you out of the chair in the calm hours of the evening to slow dance with you around the living room. Sometimes he’d put on some calm and beautiful melodies to play in the background, but sometimes he would just slow waltz without the music, casual chatter filling the void instead.
Nanami is the type of guy who’d pull your feet in his lap to massage them after a long day, without you asking for it.
Nanami is the type of guy who looooves to cook for you, and he does it as often as he possibly can. And when he does, he loves to feed you small bites during the process for you to taste everything.
Nanami is, of course, a respectable man — meaning he doesn’t engage all that much in pda. But he’ll happily walk beside you with your fingers intertwined with his, or he’ll have a tender hand on the small of your back to guide you when has to let go.
Nanami however, has one physical need and that is kissing the back of your hand, which he will do wherever and whenever. Walking the grocery store; lift your hand to his lips. Meeting up for lunch; lift your hand to his lips. Waiting in line for a restaurant; lift your hand to his lips.
Nanami is the type of guy that would love being a girl’s dad. It would be the highlight of his day to come home from work, only to squeeze into one of her small chairs in her bedroom and would put on the most convincing act of sipping tea from the empty cup, a pretty tiara at the very top of his head.
Nanami is the type of guy who would love planning the wedding along with you. He hates the idea of loading all the responsibility on the bride, because he wants to celebrate your love just as much as you do.
Nanami is the type of guy, who once he falls in love, he’s settled.

It’s an open secret in fashion. Unsold inventory goes to the incinerator; excess handbags are slashed so they can’t be resold; perfectly usable products are sent to the landfill to avoid discounts and flash sales. The European Union wants to put an end to these unsustainable practices. On Monday, [December 4, 2023], it banned the destruction of unsold textiles and footwear.
“It is time to end the model of ‘take, make, dispose’ that is so harmful to our planet, our health and our economy,” MEP Alessandra Moretti said in a statement. “Banning the destruction of unsold textiles and footwear will contribute to a shift in the way fast fashion manufacturers produce their goods.”
This comes as part of a broader push to tighten sustainable fashion legislation, with new policies around ecodesign, greenwashing and textile waste phasing in over the next few years. The ban on destroying unsold goods will be among the longer lead times: large businesses have two years to comply, and SMEs have been granted up to six years. It’s not yet clear on whether the ban applies to companies headquartered in the EU, or any that operate there, as well as how this ban might impact regions outside of Europe.
For many, this is a welcome decision that indirectly tackles the controversial topics of overproduction and degrowth. Policymakers may not be directly telling brands to produce less, or placing limits on how many units they can make each year, but they are penalising those overproducing, which is a step in the right direction, says Eco-Age sustainability consultant Philippa Grogan. “This has been a dirty secret of the fashion industry for so long. The ban won’t end overproduction on its own, but hopefully it will compel brands to be better organised, more responsible and less greedy.”
Clarifications to come
There are some kinks to iron out, says Scott Lipinski, CEO of Fashion Council Germany and the European Fashion Alliance (EFA). The EFA is calling on the EU to clarify what it means by both “unsold goods” and “destruction”. Unsold goods, to the EFA, mean they are fit for consumption or sale (excluding counterfeits, samples or prototypes)...
The question of what happens to these unsold goods if they are not destroyed is yet to be answered. “Will they be shipped around the world? Will they be reused as deadstock or shredded and downcycled? Will outlet stores have an abundance of stock to sell?” asks Grogan.
Large companies will also have to disclose how many unsold consumer products they discard each year and why, a rule the EU is hoping will curb overproduction and destruction...
Could this shift supply chains?
For Dio Kurazawa, founder of sustainable fashion consultancy The Bear Scouts, this is an opportunity for brands to increase supply chain agility and wean themselves off the wholesale model so many rely on. “This is the time to get behind innovations like pre-order and on-demand manufacturing,” he says. “It’s a chance for brands to play with AI to understand the future of forecasting. Technology can help brands be more intentional with what they make, so they have less unsold goods in the first place.”
Grogan is equally optimistic about what this could mean for sustainable fashion in general. “It’s great to see that this is more ambitious than the EU’s original proposal and that it specifically calls out textiles. It demonstrates a willingness from policymakers to create a more robust system,” she says. “Banning the destruction of unsold goods might make brands rethink their production models and possibly better forecast their collections.”
One of the outstanding questions is over enforcement. Time and again, brands have used the lack of supply chain transparency in fashion as an excuse for bad behaviour. Part of the challenge with the EU’s new ban will be proving that brands are destroying unsold goods, not to mention how they’re doing it and to what extent, says Kurazawa. “Someone obviously knows what is happening and where, but will the EU?”"

—heart fluttering.

pairing: hwang hyunjin x reader, ft. lee chaeryeong x kim seungmin
genre: fluff, humor, college au, established relationship, slice of life
word count: 4.5k
summary: who would’ve thought that an unattended romance book on your coffee table would lead to a whole argument with your friends about the technicalities of pinning someone up against the wall. good thing your boyfriend was eager to help you reenact such a controversial scene and—not really—prove your point.
a/n: well hello there, it’s been a while hehe. i’m just here to post this story for my mother hen @taikapavunvarsi’s birthday, as i’ve been doing every single year now. couldn’t lose the tradition. i fucked up the time zones for this post and you’re probably sleeping rn, but i still hope you had the greatest of days and got lots of love from your loved ones, you deserve nothing but the best things in life ♡ i also hope that you enjoy this little one shot i wrote for you. i haven’t written at all in like two months so forgive my rustiness. anyway, you said you wanted ‘booktok boyfriend challenge’ and maybe reversed, and also after some digging on my end (aka going all the way up on our chat 💀) i realised that you said ‘the watercolors’ when you sent that video to me, so the watercolors you get. and also it’s not really a tiktok challenge they’re doing in this piece bc i kinda twisted it as always lol but i hope you still like it<3
and well, since i wrote this for the watercolor couple, i thought fuck it i’m posting it here. if anyone else reads it, i hope you all enjoy~

“That’s impossible” Seungmin’s final statement earned a side eye from you, which was nothing compared to the way Chae whipped her head in his direction—just like that, letting him know she was taking full offense in his confident words.
“No, it’s not?!” Chaeryeong beat you to it, just as you were opening your mouth to let out the exact same words.
“Babe, I’m telling you, it’s not possible”.
“Yes, it is!” You backed your friend up this time.
Given the intensity each of your statements carried, any outsider would think you were discussing a life or death situation. Especially after the over dramatic roll of eyes Seungmin gave you after contradicting him.
In reality, what got the three of you so heated up was whether a specific paragraph from the book Cherry was currently reading—and which you had already read and lent it to her in the first place—was actually possible or not.
“Give me the book,” Seungmin asked his girlfriend, holding his palm open for her to comply. Once she did, he traced his index finger under the words as he read them out loud: “He shoved her up against the wall, his height towering over her, and then with one hand pinning both of her wrists above her head”.
“What’s so unrealistic about it?” You wondered when he finished with a rather amused scoff.
“So, he pushes her against the wall, then he towers over her, meaning he’s like, extremely close to her, and then with one hand he grabs both her wrists and pulls them up over her head?”
“I don’t get you…” Chaeryeong frowned, visibly trying to understand her boyfriend’s point.
“Wouldn’t her arms be stiff when he pulls them both up at the same time?” He pointed out. “There wouldn’t be space for him to pull them up, since he needs to hold them together, probably in the middle, and then pull them up. He either should’ve done that before coming closer to her or should’ve used both hands so they could go up from her sides and not from the middle”.
You and Chaeryeong stayed silent, exchanging troubled looks as you simultaneously tried to picture the point he was making and to come up with different ways for the narration to work out.
Truth be told, you didn’t really care that much about the physical technicalities when it came to romance books. As long as you could picture what the writer was trying to portray, even if it wasn’t exactly what they had in mind, you were okay with it.
As long as the words in it made you feel something, you could look past a couple of mistakes.
Seungmin, on the other hand, who had only read that one page when Cherry left the book unattended to go to the restroom a few minutes ago, could not look past the ‘poor’—as he had so dismissively called it—wording of that particular paragraph.
“It doesn’t say that they’re extremely close, though?” You argued. “Maybe there is enough space for him to do that”.
“There isn’t” he was fast to reply.
“How would you know that?” Chaeryeong frowned.
“When us guys shove someone against the wall we instinctively corner them right away, that’s the whole point. You don’t just push them and stand there like an idiot before doing anything else”.
“Oof, speaking from experience now?” You taunted him, laughing proudly when you got flipped off right away. “Maybe this one guy did just stand there for a bit and therefore there was enough space between them”.
Chaeryeong nodded rapidly, strongly agreeing with you before Seungmin shook his head in disagreement.
“It literally says he was towering over her”.
“And the meaning of that is up for interpretation,” his girlfriend argued back once again.
“What’s up for interpretation?” Hyunjin asked, entering the living room holding a big bowl of popcorn, after having excused himself to go make himself a quick snack earlier.
“The paragraph from a book” you answered him.
“The one you lent Cherry?” He asked, leaning against the doorframe as he shoved a handful of popcorn into his mouth.
You couldn’t help but smile at the sight of him, for a moment there forgetting you were in the middle of an argument. “Yes. There’s this one line that Seungmin swears is not possible”.
“It’s not, though” Seungmin argued once more, and you knew right then he was now only trying to provoke you and his girlfriend.
The glare you threw his way must’ve been one of a kind, for it had Hyunjin chuckling in a heartbeat.
“I thought you guys were fighting for real from the bits and pieces I heard from the kitchen”.
“Oh, we’re close to” Cherry folded her arms over her chest.
It was funny to think this was what your Friday nights had come to after a year of you dating Hyunjin, and of Cherry dating Seungmin.
With you and Chaeryeong being best friends and also roommates, and the same being Hyunjin and Seungmin’s situation, it was inevitable for the four of you to stick together among your larger group of friends. It was unspoken, even.
Since you and Seungmin were done earlier with your last class on Fridays, you would head over to the dance practice room together, where Chaeryeong and Hyunjin would be, as always, mastering their respective routines. You would wait for them to finish, catch up a bit in the meantime, and then all four of you would head over to either your or their dorm, and just hang out there if you didn’t have any particular couple activities planned out with your respective partners. Usually, it was yours, so you wouldn’t bother Changbin if he happened to be at their place—you had already been called out one too many times for making him fifth wheel.
Today, it was no different.
It was supposed to be a peaceful evening, just chatting in the living room all four of you until it was time for Chae and Seungmin to leave, since they were going to the movies later that night. Although, to be fair, no evening could ever be completely peaceful when both your dramatic boyfriend and her tsundere one were together.
Maybe if Chaeryeong hadn’t left your book on the coffee table the night before, you could’ve accomplished an almost peaceful one, because then Seungmin wouldn’t have caught a glance of it after she left his side and he found himself looking for another eye-catching sight around your place, and maybe then he wouldn’t have read that infamous line that got the three of you arguing like your lives depended on it.
Hyunjin would probably have agreed with Seungmin, had he been in the room with you when all hell broke loose. Their experience pinning people against a wall was probably over half of yours—which was nonexistent—after all. But, he wasn’t there for it. So, your eyes lit up when you looked at him and an idea came to your mind.
Watching him place the bowl of popcorn on the coffee table as he munched on another handful of them, you stood up before he could take a seat next to you like he intended.
“Jinnie, come here” you called him, having him follow you to the wall next to the sofa where you had been sitting. When he was in front of you and his rather confused eyes were silently asking you what you wanted, you said: “Pin me up against the wall”.
And maybe you should’ve known better than to make such a request to him all of a sudden, because next thing you knew, confusion was replaced by lust in the way he looked at you, and his hands on both sides of your hips were pulling you closer to him.
“Here in front of our friends?” He mumbled, smiling against your lips and sending shivers down your spine.
Sadly, he didn’t get to steal a kiss from your mouth like he was dying to. Not because of the giggle that had just escaped it—as you couldn’t help but get shy even after all the times you had kissed in front of your friends and vice versa—but because of the pillow Seungmin didn’t hesitate to throw at his head as soon as he realised what was about to go down in front of them.
“Boo, you hoe!” he called your boyfriend out.
Hyunjin threw his head lightly back, biting his lip as he tried to conceal the amused—yet frustrated—smile already parting his lips. Still, he didn’t hesitate to grab the pillow from off the floor and throw it right back to Minnie.
“So,” Hyunjin began after successfully hitting his friend, pulling you closer to him again. “Do I pin you up against the wall or not?”
“Yes, but not like that” Chaeryeong answered for you, causing a laugh to escape your lips.
“Wait, but don’t tell him how, we’re trying to prove a point here” you reminded them, looking for confirmation from both of them before your eyes went back to your boyfriend. “Just, pin me up against the wall”.
“Like, forcefully or…”
“Um…” you hesitated.
“It does say ‘shove’ against the wall here, so yeah, forcefully” Seungmin said.
“And then pull her hands above her head” Cherry added.
“What the hell are you guys on about?” He frowned, not really knowing whether he should be worried or not.
“Just do it” you laughed.
“Okay, so…” his uncertain eyes fixed on yours, looking for consent to push you against the wall.
With a silent nod, you let him know to go for it. And so, his hands went up to your ribcage, missing your breasts by an inch, and he pushed you to the wall. It wasn’t hard enough to hurt you, but just enough for a thud to be heard at the impact.
Before you could process whether you had liked it or not, he was already grabbing your hands and pulling them up above your head.
You found out right then that you did indeed like it. Maybe a little too much. Enough to only focus on his plump lips nearly touching yours, and, therefore, to miss the way he had used both hands to pin yours up.
“Told you!” Seungmin managed to break the sexual tension already taking over the two of you. “You need both hands for that”.
“Doesn’t mean you can’t use only one, though?” You argued, unconsciously resting your hands on Hyunjin’s chest.
“Oh, you wanted me to use only one?” He asked you, then looking at your friends. “I can do that”.
“Let’s see it,” Seungmin said, grabbing the bowl of popcorn and leaning back on the sofa.
“What are you, a judge?” Hyunjin scoffed.
“Oh, hush. Just do it”.
Rolling his eyes, he took a step away from you, so he could reenact the scene right from the start.
This time, however, instead of shoving you up against the wall right away, he grabbed your right wrist and then brought it up to your left one before he pulled them up above your head. It was only when your hands were about to reach the top of your head, that his free hand went up to your waist and he pushed you against the wall—almost as if he’d heard Seungmin’s previous argument—cornering you right away.
It was fair to say, whether he had just proved Seungmin’s point or not, you were enjoying this whole argument way too much.
“See?” Seungmin looked at Chaeryeong with a proud smirk.
“We haven’t seen the way the book describes it yet, though” she refused to give it up, reaching for the book on the coffee table and looking for the controversial paragraph.
“Is this really what our Friday nights have come to?” You asked in utter disbelief.
“I’m not really complaining” Hyunjin confessed—a breathy laugh escaping his mouth as he lovingly bumped your nose with his own.
“I mean, it could be possible,” Seungmin stood up, deliberately ignoring the PDA going on in front of him and walking over to you—watching the reenactment from the couch not being enough anymore. “But it’d be too inconvenient, like, if you’re that close and you hold both wr—”
“You are not shoving my girlfriend up against the wall” Hyunjin warned him when he tried to shove him aside in order to take his place, unconsciously grabbing your hand and pulling you to him.
Seungmin rolled his eyes. “I’m not, I’m just trying to make a point here”.
“Go make your point with Chaeryeong over there”.
“Hold on, I’m looking for the line” she absentmindedly replied as she scanned the page.
You snorted, leaning your head against your boyfriend’s shoulder. You didn’t know whether she was unaware or simply unfazed—either of them being just as funny to you.
“Okay, I got it,” Cherry announced, going up to you as well. “So, what you have to do is, shove her up against the wall,” she looked up to Hyunjin, waiting for him to do so—which he did, only gently this time, as the four of you seemed to be more into the technicality of it all rather than into the reenactment. “Tower over her,” she read, and that he did as well, making your heart race when he took it one step further by tilting your chin up with his fingers, so he could lean in to faintly touch your mouth with his lips.
“Keep it professional, dude” Seungmin called him out—justice being made for you when he was the one to get flipped off now by your boyfriend.
“And now,” Chaeryeong resumed. “With one hand, hold both of hers up”.
You knew Seungmin was right—as if the two previous tries hadn’t already been proof enough—when you saw your boyfriend hesitate, only then realising how close he had come to you by simply being told to tower over you.
Hyunjin knew something was off right away, having to take a few seconds to figure out how to pull your hands up in between the little to nonexistent space between your bodies.
In the end, the safest choice was to take a step back in order to do so, coming right back to tower over you as soon as he got your hands pinned to the wall. Just like that, proving that, although possible, it would turn out clumsy enough—not to say ‘inconvenient’, like Seungmin had claimed—to mess with the heat of the moment.
“Told you,” Seungmin smiled proudly once again. “Inconvenient”.
“Whatever” Chaeryeong shrugged, closing the book and carefully throwing it on the couch as she finally admitted defeat. “All I got from this is that you two share the same braincell. Luke clearly left enough space between them”.
“Luke,” he mockingly repeated the character’s name he had just learned. “Was clearly written by a woman who’s never pinned anyone against a wall”.
“And that’s why he’s way better than you two”.
You couldn’t help the throaty laugh that escaped your mouth at her bitter remark. While Seungmin’s jaw fell open, desperately looking for a clap back for that yet coming up with nothing, a quite offended Hyunjin nudged you, for your friend’s insult had involved him too and you were laughing.
Chaeryeong, on the other hand, was unable to hold back a laugh of her own at the sight of her baffled boyfriend—pulling the now pouty guy into a hug. “Okay, I’m sorry” she apologised with a peck to his lips, knowing she was forgiven when his hands rested on her waist and his thumbs drew small circles on it. “But, honestly, just read the damn book and you’ll get why we don’t really care about technicalities”.
“If it’s so good they’ll probably make a movie of it, so I’ll just wait for that” he smiled cynically.
Chaeryeong rolled her eyes with a smile, only for it to be erased the next second when realisation hit her. “Wait, the movie!”
Seungmin’s face was quick to match her panicked one.
Being too immersed in the rather entertaining argument, neither of them had remembered the movie they had got tickets for earlier that week, and which they should’ve left for a while ago now.
“Shit, what time is it?” Seungmin asked, rushing to get his things.
“Eight thirty” Hyunjin let him know as he checked his phone.
“Fuck, we only have fifteen minutes”.
“Let’s go” Cherry hurried him up, putting on her shoes and grabbing her coat by the entrance.
“Coming” Seungmin announced from the couch, shoving his phone into his pocket and running to put on his shoes as well, as Chaeryeong held the door open while waiting for him. “Okay, see you guys later, bye!”
Chuckling over the entire situation after hearing them slam the door shut, and feeling the silence take over the room now that your friends were gone, you looked up to Hyunjin. Although the both of you were resting your backs against the wall now, as he had leaned on it in order to watch your friends rushing out of your place, he didn’t waste another second to corner you again—getting the perfect opportunity to tilt your chin up and to finally press his mouth to yours, like he had been dying to ever since you asked him to pin you up against the wall earlier that night.
Your arms wrapped around his neck, and his own snaked around your waist, pulling you so close to his body that you found yourself laughing breathily at the lack of oxygen you were getting after a few seconds.
“So those are the kind of books you’re always reading?” He smirked over your lips, slightly loosening his hold on you—just enough for you to catch your breath.
“God forbid a girl wants to read some heart fluttering stories” you couldn’t help but sound defensive, gently letting your palms slide down to his chest.
He chuckled, gently nuzzling your neck. “I’m not shaming you or anything, it’s just interesting”.
“What is?”
“That those kinds of things make your heart flutter”.
“Those kinds of things?” You asked.
“Pinning you up against the wall?” He cocked a teasing eyebrow.
“As if you didn’t know that already” you rolled your eyes, folding your arms over your chest.
“I didn’t” he chuckled, teasingly pinching your sides before he pulled you closer and kissed you once more.
Sure, he had pinned you up against the wall a couple of times—maybe more than a couple in the time you had been together—but never forcefully, or at least not enough to make the impact of your body against it to actually make a sound, like it had today.
He had only now discovered that you enjoyed it. And he was surely loving this newfound liking of yours.
“If you ever got pinned up against a wall like that, you’d get the hype” you defended yourself.
“Well, you could always show me” he shrugged, unable to hide the smirk that was already curving up his lips.
“Me?”
“Aren’t you my girlfriend? Who else would pin me up against a wall if not you?”
“The height difference won’t help, though”.
“I’ll cooperate” he promised, earning a light laugh from you. “You need to do the whole thing, though. I want my arms pinned above my head and all”.
“You’re delusional,” you laughed.
“For knowing what I want?” He said over dramatically.
“Ah, what did I get myself into” you amusedly lamented, but gave in regardless.
Letting go of each other and switching sides, being now him the one turning his back to the wall while you faced him, you couldn’t help but hesitate, just like he had done before pushing you for the first time.
Turned out, it was actually mind wrecking not knowing how much force to put into shoving the person you loved in order not to hurt them. Not like you could actually push him that hard if you wanted, but still.
“I’m waiting~” he teased you.
At that, knowing well enough he would tease you even harder if you took any longer, you just pushed him without a second thought—only to panic as soon as you heard his back hit the wall.
“Was that okay?” You asked him right away.
He dramatically clutched his chest. “My heart’s nearly beating out of my chest”.
“Oh, shut up” you rolled your eyes, deciding to just get it over with and grab both his wrists in order to pull them above his head.
Since you had already pushed him and there was enough space between the two of you, given that you forgot to corner him against the wall right after—you could almost hear Seungmin calling you an idiot—your stubbornness told you to only use one hand to do so.
Now, the problem was, that you forgot how big Hyunjin’s hands actually were, and therefore why it was so easy for him to grab both your wrists with only one of them—as opposed to you, who were already struggling with the task.
Hyunjin was enjoying it one hell of a lot, though. He couldn’t hold back a giggle as he watched you struggle for a few seconds to secure his wrists in your hand, and then he completely lost it when you finally managed to pull them up over his head, only for you not to be able to reach all the way up and just leave them hanging there midway.
“Yah, you said you’d cooperate!” You whined.
“I’m slouching, I’m slouching” he defended himself in between laughs as he did so.
However, hearing your laugh only made him laugh harder, to the point he gave up on slouching at all and ended up kneeling down instead, letting his face rest on your abdomen and holding onto the curve of your back as he looked for some kind of support.
“You’re so annoying” you half laughed, half whined again; trying to help him stand back up.
“You’re so cute,” he cooed.
Letting out one last throaty laugh and finally managing to catch his breath, he let you help him up, smiling lovingly when you cupped his face and wiped the tears of joy that had rolled down his cheeks.
“So, pinning you up against the wall is a no-go to make your heart flutter” you nodded your head.
“It did flutter though, but just because you’re too adorable and I love you” he admitted, and it was your heart the one to flutter at that.
“What can I do to truly make your heart go all mushy then?”
“Honestly?” He asked.
You nodded.
“I love it when you play with my hair”.
You smiled, as it was no news. He had been very vocal about it after the first time you played with his hair while you cuddled on his couch, even way before being a couple.
It was always nice to hear how much he actually loved it, though.
“I was thinking more of a book-ish thing to do…” you confessed.
“Book-ish?” He poked fun at you.
“Yeah, you know, cliché things characters in romance books do” you looked around as you tried to think of something. “Like when they grab your face and make you look at them when you’re not paying attention, like—”
Before you could finish your sentence, he was already grabbing your chin and making you look up at him.
“Like this?” He mumbled against your lips.
You felt your cheeks burn embarrassingly fast, having to look to the side in a poor attempt to play it cool—only to have him playfully make you look at him again.
“Hwang Hyunjin,” you warned him, unknowingly making his heart race at the sound of the lower register you had just used.
“Yes, baby?”
“You’re not supposed to make me flustered, I was about to make a move there”.
He laughed under his breath. “Let’s be honest now, if you were to do that right now, with us standing up, I’d probably just end up looking to the wall”.
Your jaw fell open in full offense. “If I grab your face and turn it in my direction, you’re supposed to look at me even if I’m shorter than you. It’s common courtesy”.
“You’re the one manhandling me, you’re supposed to make me look at you”.
“And that’s what—I give up” you held your hands up in defeat. “I could never be the man of this relationship”.
“Good,” he said, grabbing your waist and turning both of you around, so that he was once again the one cornering you against the wall and leaning down so close to you that you could feel your breathings mix. “Just leave the manhandling to me, hm?”
You bit your lip, in a hopeless attempt to conceal the smile already curving up your lips. He chuckled against your mouth, leaning in to press a slow, lingering kiss to it.
You would be a fool to turn down his offer.
“I want to make your heart flutter too, though” you pouted nevertheless.
“And you always do that without even trying”.
“I do?”
“Mhm…” he lovingly tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. “Like I said, when you play with my hair, or when you lean your head on my shoulder, also when you call me baby… when you use that lower tone of yours to talk to me, and when you doodle literally anything while we talk and then gift it to me…” his eyes softened at the memories. “Do I keep going?”
You softly shook your head no—your heart already feeling warm enough because of his words. “I believe that’s good en—”
“Oh, I love it when you wear my clothes!” He cut you off, eyes lighting up over the sudden train of thought. “Fuck, especially when you only wear one of my t-shirts to sleep and I get to admire your pretty thighs while you walk around my room”.
You chuckled at his last addition, feeling your cheeks burn all over again. “You’re getting a bit carried away now, aren’t you, baby?”
He bit his lip, remaining silent yet not finding it in him to feel the least bit embarrassed. You were all his after all, he was allowed to admire your beauty in all its splendor and gush about it all he wanted.
“I’ll make sure to do all that more often then” you quietly added with a smile, reaching up to sweetly catch his bottom lip in between yours.
“There are a few of my t-shirts in your closet, so how about doing that one now?” He proposed, temptingly brushing his lips against yours.
“If that’s what it takes to make your heart flutter…” you quietly taunted him.
He agreed with a small nod, pressing his lips to yours and teasingly grabbing a hold of your wrists. “I’ll make sure yours does too by pinning you up against your bedroom wall while we’re at it”.

Something I would add about Michfest : In the 90s, there was a scandal involving a trans man there (Tony Baretto-Neto). He had phallo and simply took a shower there, but then the staff confronted him because people started saying there were multiple "men" / "transsexuals" / male invaders walking around exposing their erect penises in front of women, and blamed him.
It caused a lot of controversy and he literally ended up having to make a public written statement about it to debunk these claims, saying he was just 1 guy taking a shower (he even said that due to the nature of his penis, the thing about him harassing women with his erection was literally not physically possible, people were just making shit up to paint him as predatory). He explained what really happened : he had told the women around that he was gonna shower and explained his situation, they all said they were fine with it, some shower malfunction happened and some women who helped him with it therefore saw him naked. (He also said that he went to the festival as a trans man because he'd been a lesbian activist since the 60s and had fought in these spaces for decades, even having played in a band in similar festivals in the past).
He had explained all that to the staff and, despite them fully knowing he was AFAB, they didn't care. They didn't want it to be a place ~ for AFABs ~, they wanted a place without any people AMAB or penises, and decided their policy also included people AFAB with penises after this "incident". (Also this story has been largely misrepresented and said to be about a trans woman's penis in the showers, but yeah, the real story behind this was actually about a trans man.)
It's not even a rare occurrence, it's actually pretty common for things "for AFABs" or "AFAB-only" to reject/ban trans men who are deemed "too much like cis men" (or mysteriously find a reason that makes them "not a good fit"). I guarantee you that most shit like "AFAB-only housing" or whatever would also reject trans men with penises. Pretty much every space or thing "for AFABs" will have some secret threshold for trans men, where if you have certain features you will be seen as "too much like a cis man" and not allowed to join because it "makes the others uncomfortable". They won't dare to admit it out loud if they market themselves as open to trans people AFAB, and the exact criteria varies from group to group (it can be as little as "vibes" and not even medical transition related). But "having a penis" will pretty much unanimously be seen as crossing that line and get you rejected.
It's just really frustrating to see some people take them at their word when some group says "we are open to anyone AFAB" and then react like "see ? TME privilege once again, they only exclude trans women !!!!" and act like all trans people AFAB are included in that when there's always, and I cannot state this enough, *ALWAYS* a cutoff point for transmascs in these things, over which they're seen as predatory, invading, untrustworthy, violent, dangerous, and are excluded (and its not necessarily for being mistaken for transfem, it's very deliberate) no matter how "welcome for being AFAB" they are on paper. The entire spectrum of transmasculinity is never welcome in these spaces. It's always a lie.
TRFs love taking other radfems at their word except when those radfems say they really do see trans women as men, then it's all "why do you believe TERFs?" and shit.
Thank you for writing this up. <3

Hi! I love your blog so much! What do you think are Patrick's favorite sex positions?🫣
Hello!💕
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Talking about the possible favorite sex positions of Patrick according to the book / the movie:
NSFW
Doggy, Prone Bone, Missionary (fifty fifty, I guess?).
Doggy because of the control he can have, obviously. He can pound into you as deep as he wants, pull your hair, have your ass on full display for his greedy eyes and along with it he can spank you, squeeze you, play with your breasts and so on. But yes, showing dominance in this position is the easiest and that is the main thing he loves about it, in my opinion. Also, his primal instincts really kick in in this position, turning him into a savage beast who only wants to possess and claim.
Prone Bone is like an upgraded version of Doggy, but this way he can sheath himself even deeper and trap you underneath him, wrapping his hands all around you while grinding his strong hips against yours. And frankly, I think Prone Bone is more intimate than Doggy because he can literally cocoon you in his arms and press his warm lips against your exposed neck to listen to your moans, which will be so loud whenever he rolls his hips because he knows how and when to do it to drive you crazy. Prone Bone is my personal favorite when it comes to Patrick, hehe, because imagine feeling the weight of his body, the warmth of it, the power he has over you. Magnificent.
When it comes to Missionary, I think he might like it because he can actually see your blissed out face and it only spurs him on to keep going, to push you beyond your limits, to make you writhing underneath him. But also the intimacy of it, the fact that he can easily shush you with his mouth if you get too vocal is very appealing. I've read several statements that Patrick only fucks those he really likes in this position and I can't agree or disagree with that. But what I am sure of is that when he asks you to wrap your legs around his lower back, this man can easily lose his mind from the friction your bodies make together. Patrick will also tell you to open your eyes and look at him when he feels you are about to collapse. Missionary is perfect for this kind of visual contact and he loves it so much.
I can also make a list of sex positions that I think Patrick might like (headcanon), but some of them may be a bit controversial. Let me know if you're interested, hehe. Thanks for sending me this ask, I enjoyed answering it!💕

Unions and the Defence of Supergiant Games
Hey, so I'm pretty sure everyone and their mom has seen takes on Hades 2 rn bc of what one of the VAs said. This is causing a lot more harm then good rn and, while I don't claim to be an expert on unions, but even just basic research shows Supergiant is largely innocent and this is a misunderstanding.
Supergiant stated they will not be recasting and also they don't fall under the companies that can not be working or supported during the SAG- AFTRA strike.
Being an indie development company, they do not fall under the issues SAG is striking and possibly can not even sign said agreement because they are an indie company (i'd have to fact-check that). This strike is supposed to affect larger companies like EA, Sony, X-Box, etc who are pushing for AI. Below is a statement from Supergiant about the statement made by the VA.
When similar strikes happened for both SAG and the WGA, other smaller companies did not have to halt production because their work did not meet the guidelines that the strike fell under. Spindel Horse and GLITCH are both indie animation companies that did not have to halt production.
One other example is Dropout.TV where they did not need to stop under SAG rules and guidelines, they did so out of respect. While Supergiant could, they don't have too and why would they? Fans have been waiting for almost three years now and they are polishing at a record speed.
Secondly is the term "Scab" being thrown around when it comes to who Supergiant hires, which largely comes from people not knowing what a true scab is.
A Scab ISN'T any person working in a given position when a strike is happening. It's a member of SAID UNION who crosses the picket line or does work for lower pay then the Union states.
Unions have several levels of entry that not all people meet. Being under smaller workers unions for starters along with proof of employment and others.
Supergiant, being smaller and indie makes it so it can hire people who aren't SAG members and help promote them to be bigger names in the industry along with eventually becoming possible members of the unions.
For example, Michael Kovach (famous VA for Jax from TADC, Several characters from Poppy Playtime, One character in Billie Bust Up (IDK), and most famously the original pilot VA for Angeldust from Hazbin Hotel) is not a member of SAG but supports the union and has been in multiple roles since the SAG strikes began.
While I have not done research into who exactly is being called a "Scab" in terms of the Supergiant controversy, please keep yourself educated about the term because it is super derogatory and may cause these people to never be able to join the unions. Being labeled a "scab", even incorrectly, makes it nearly impossible for people to join unions.
A lot of the "If you don't join a union then your against unions" mentality I've seen from people creates a harmful, uneducated stereotype that large corporations want. They want normal consumers to see Union Supporters as aggressive and hopping down your throat to deny you money. This villainizes unions in the long run.
Overall, Supergiant is not doing anything wrong and the mob mentality jump on them comes from a lack of educated perspectives (esp since a large portion of this community is the younger demographic with not much union knowlege).
While I don't see it happening, the large explosion of this on social media along with the VA's lack of understanding may cause Supergiant (or even other companies) to not work with them again after Hades 2 is complete. This is a huge liability that is harming their company and, if they do proceed to go this route I do not blame them, and neither should you. This is safety and security in their brand so more games we appreciate can come out in the future. The VA is a grown adult who has made decisions and will deal with the consequences when/if they happen. Please send no hate to Supergiant or the VA who I have intentionally left nameless so nobody can attack them. Thank you.

Since people seem to once again be having trouble remembering the order of operations, let me just remind everyone:
The ability Laudna possesses to feed Delilah is Hunger of the Shadow. In the fight with Bor’dor, Laudna used that BEFORE Orym’s head nod. Bor’dor attacked them and her response was to do the thing she knew would give power to Delilah. Matt even makes the sound of Delilah’s heartbeat.
The spell she used after the head nod? Whither and Bloom. The same spell she later attacked Orym with, which isn’t even a warlock spell.
And speaking of the head nod, you want to know what’s it’s prefaced with? ‘Laudna you can do whatever you want.’ And Marisha responds by saying that Laudna is ‘barely present’ because she’s having ptsd flashbacks to all of the times something horrible happened to her and she couldn’t do anything about it. So she kills Bor’dor because it makes her feel in control of the situation.
And yeah, the 4SD where Liam says Orym thought Delilah might come back. Except y’all somehow took that and made it seem like he’s the one who shoved Laudna over the edge when what actually happened is that Laudna flung herself off it because betrayal is triggering to her.
And the sword. The sword which apparently wasn’t triggering enough that Imogen contemplating whether the Vanguard were good guys didn’t cause any reaction. Or for that matter, make her object to Ashton’s ‘this is permission statement.’ But she saw Orym wearing it, got uncomfortable and then all it took was one sentence from Delilah for her to decide to steal it. Delilah, who mutilated her, murdered her, has been possessing her for decades, and who basically held her soul hostage when BH wanted VM to resurrect Laudna. But what Delilah didn’t do? Tell Laudna to steal the sword.
I wasn’t around for campaign 1, but in campaign 2 I definitely noticed a trend that people who were all ‘I love women! Female characters rock!’ would, the second one of their alleged faves did something controversial (or just something they didn’t like) would find a way to shift the onus onto someone else so she could remain blameless. And that is definitely continuing this campaign, and if anything is getting worse (which, not to get into speculation, but I wonder if it’s because all of the female characters this go round are more traditionally feminine than last campaign.)
I think the reason Orym’s been getting raked across the coals so hard by certain parts of the fandom is actually because of this. Because Imogen’s repeatedly gone ‘what if the Vanguard have a point’ and Laudna agrees with everything she says, whereas Orym’s been pretty consistently ‘no, the murder cult that murdered my family are bad guys.’ And well, can’t go around admitting that our faves did something wrong.’
And so we have a situation where Laudna attacks Orym, but somehow that’s Orym’s fault because the possibility of Laudna doing something wrong ruins people’s lesbian cottegecore fantasy. But the thing is, that whole thing was all Laudna. She chose to listen to her first murderer when Delilah said ‘maybe it’s cursed’ and then she chose to blanket the room in magical darkness (sorcerer ability, not warlock) chose to cast an area of effect spell to destroy the thing Orym was using to sheath the sword (sorcerer spell, not warlock) and, upon hurting Orym, chose not to drop said darkness, which meant Orym couldn’t see who attacked him. And when she got caught, she tried to downplay what she did, tried to say that because she didn’t mean to hurt him it didn’t count, refused to apologize for actually hurting him, kept shifting her argument (and even low key got called out on it by Imogen when she asked Laudna why she’s want its power inside her if she thinks it’s so evil.)
There is an alternate universe where Laudna wakes Orym up and they have what probably would have been an intense discussion about the sword (and that might even have been what Marisha was aiming for before Delilah got involved) and THAT truly would have been the ‘both sides are equally right’ scenario, but that’s not what we got. And you can say Orym shouldn’t have taken the sword unilaterally (but somehow Laudna’s allowed to unilaterally steal and absorb it?) or that she’s being manipulated by Delilah, but the fact is that Laudna’s an adult and is responsible for her own decisions. Yes, Delilah is a powerful and malign presence that they all downplayed/ignored, but, to use Marisha’s addiction metaphor, making amends with those you’ve harmed is a part of recovery for a reason. Because ultimately, you are the one who did that. Yes, it does immensely suck for Laudna that she’s been handed the cards she has been, but it’s up to her to make the best play she can.
Wow this got long, but my overall point is that Laudna is a character with her own agency and makes her own decisions (well, Marisha makes them, but at this point y’all should know she’s not conflict averse and is willing to have her characters make controversial character choices). And really, take all that away, what’s left? How much onus can you take from a character before you might as well go look at a painting?
#critical role#cr spoilers#long post#Like this is a Marisha character and a warlock. Do you think she’s going to sit there and be pretty#some of you would hate Fig Faeth’s ‘Complicated Women’ podcast#also this is the part where I say that the cast can say whatever they want on 4SD. If it contradicts the actual show I ignore it#anyway very curious to see what happens when they get to Aeor#Imagine what happens if Delilah tried to get her to eat the beacon

I come late to organizing as a transgender activist. In doing so, I’ve learned a lot. I’ve learned transgendered people truly are everywhere and not just in New York, San Francisco and Washington D.C. I’ve learned many want to quietly assimilate into the white, heterosexual, middle class status quo that is the dominant culture of our nation. I’ve learned quite a few of us have no wish or desire for such assimilation — that for some of us, our greatest desire is to shake up that dominant culture, to question gender and identity on every level — social, biological, political and personal. I’ve learned that perhaps right at this moment there is a transgendered person — most likely an MTF transsexual or crossdresser, most likely a person of color, being brutally murdered. I’ve learned people much younger than I are coming out as transgendered in ways I never believed possible when I was their age and are challenging not only the status quo, but also calling on “old” activists like me to take another look around and see the world through their eyes. And I’ve learned that, perhaps like all other communities, we love to eat our own. Some of you reading this are aware of the controversies and conflicts swirling within the transgender community, most of which focus upon the organization GenderPAC. For those of you who aren’t up on it, here’s an abbreviated version. A significant number of transgender activists and community organizations have taken issue with GenderPAC’s expansion of its mission and vision to incorporate a larger view of gender rights rather than a specific and focused emphasis upon civil rights advocacy for transgendered people. Depending on whom you ask, this reinventing of GenderPAC is either the logical extension of its organizational vision to secure the rights of all people to free gender expression — or the cold-blooded abandonment of the very community by whom and for which it was created, nurtured and financially supported. Being the baby TG activist I am, I come to this drama late. Long after the battle lines were laid down. Long after sides were chosen, opinions formed and set in stone. Long after wounds (both real and imagined) were inflicted.
I’ve watched carefully for the past couple of years as the battle has played out online, in internet chat rooms, and on mailing lists. I’ve read statements from individuals and organizations that have taken a stand on the issue. I’ve received press releases and announcements from one camp or another; a battle of media propaganda that would make the veterans of the Cold War proud. And through it all, I’ve tried to be a rather casual observer, if one can be casual as they watch some of the best and brightest of their community consumed in an internal battle that threatens to tear the entire community apart. Of course my being a casual observer hasn’t stopped a few folks from demanding to know where I stand. I’ve been pulled aside at conferences and been given “information,” primarily innuendo and accusation, so I am up to speed on the situation. I’ve been directed to websites that were little more than character assassinations in badly laid-out HTML. And I’ve been emailed privately and off-list by those concerned I was going to make the “wrong choice.” Want to know what my answer to these people is? Okay, here it is — I really don’t care. That’s right. I DON’T CARE. You see, I believe almost everyone entangled in this controversy is acting in what they believe are the best interests of the community with which they feel most closely aligned. I believe they’re doing the best they can with what they have. I believe mistakes have been made by everyone involved, that the personal has become political in the most destructive of ways. I also believe in change and evolution; that even organizations that have had to be forced to listen to me and to consider my issues can learn from their mistakes and realize they must make a seat for me at the table if they are to truly realize the dream of civil rights for themselves and for others. But most of all, I believe in hope. I was asked point-blank whose side I was on. This is my answer: I am on the side of whoever has the guts and initiative to end this thing and make a real effort to move our community forward out of this debilitating and destructive conflict. I’m on the side of anyone who is more interested in healing the wounds than in proving who is right. I’m on the side of those who have the ability and the willingness to put aside their personal and political animosities and seek some way to bring together everyone involved to begin a healthy dialogue, one without finger-pointing and name-calling. Until that happens, I guess I’m on the side of those who are the most negatively affected by this dysfunctional family feud. In case anyone needs a refresher course as to who those folks are and the issues they are dealing with, allow me to introduce just a few of them. The transsexual FTM who has lost custody of his child when he began transition; the butch lesbian who lost her job because she refused to wear makeup or shave her legs; the crossdresser whose wife is seeking a divorce and custody of the children he adores; the effeminate gay man beaten to death and crucified on a fence on a lonely Midwestern plain; the 17-year-old MTF doing tricks in the back alleys of San Francisco because her parents kicked her out when they found “him” wearing dresses; the FTM who died of uterine cancer because he couldn’t get insurance approval for a hysterectomy after he had completed sexual reassignment. Ultimately, it is these transgender, transsexual and gender- variant people who have the most to lose if someone doesn’t step up to the plate to end this.

I have to rant about this Imane Khelif World Boxing situation for a moment
This new bullshit started because Imane was supposed to fight at Eindhoven this week. Trolls on social media bombarded World Boxing and Eindhoven over it. World Boxing freaked the fuck out and released that statement banning Imane until she took a test, yet EVERYONE ELSE could fight first then test afterwards (if it's to protect women, why didn't they cancel the event until EVERYONE was tested?)
And then World Boxing had to write a letter of apology to Imane afterwards because they realized they handled it in the least professional way possible and likely pissed off the IOC and risked losing their chance to manage boxing at the Olympics.
And all of this controversy originates from a shady tabloid-style journalist who claims he has all her medical records. And yesterday the guy posted this:

Despite the fact he's been claiming she's a man for months, now he's suddenly like "lol I didn't mean that guys, c'mon" - AND THIS IS WHO TERFS ARE TRUSTING? THIS IS THEIR RELIABLE NEWS SOURCE?
this is all stupid as hell. Imane deserves better than this media circus.

David Badash at NCRM:
Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, is promoting President Donald Trump’s sweeping and highly controversial budget legislation by claiming it will guarantee access to the social safety net for the “right” people. He argues that, under the GOP plan, individuals will need to “earn” the right to use Medicaid—suggesting that many current recipients are capable of working but choose not to. Almost half (47.9%) of Medicaid users under 65 are children aged 0 to 18, according to KFF, the well-known nonpartisan health policy organization. Six in ten families accessing Medicaid have at least one family member who works full time. In a nationalistic plea, Dr. Oz, on Tuesday, standing with Senate Republicans, told people using the service to “demonstrate that you are trying your hardest to help this country be greater, by at least trying to fill some of the jobs that we have open.” America has a near-historically low unemployment rate of 4.2%. “By doing that, you earn the right to be on Medicaid,” Oz added.
Dr. Oz also praised the Republicans’ legislation that would gut at least $800 billion from Medicaid, saying it is “the most ambitious health reform bill ever” and will “curb the growth of Medicaid.” During his confirmation hearing, Dr. Oz said, “I think it is our patriotic duty to be healthy.” Earlier this month, Dr. Oz faced widespread criticism for telling Medicaid users, “Go out there, do the entry-level jobs, get into the workforce. Prove that you matter, get agency into your own life.” His statements suggest a possible lack of awareness of the statistics and circumstances affecting the very people he was nominated to serve.
[...]
Nearly half of employers—about 46%—do not offer health insurance at all. Most exclude part-time workers from coverage. Gig workers typically receive no health benefits through their jobs. And many seasonal workers struggle to meet the monthly hour thresholds needed to remain eligible for Medicaid.
“Dr.” Öz is such a scumbag, and his comments suggesting that Americans must “earn the right to be on Medicaid” is so insulting.

charles is a PR genius. and here's how he's trying to slowly rebrand his persona to strenghten his personal brand:
recently, especially after the triple header, you could notice charles had a period of time when he distanced himself from ferrari and clearly changed his public statements about his goals. he went from saying he wants to win with ferrari to saying that at his core, he just wants to win. and that he would leave ferrari if he didn't believe the project.
he also changed the way he communicated with fans, through social media. you can notice the change of wording in his post descriptions:

both posts are from the same year, but the wording is now different. he refused to use the ferrari branding and stopped using the typical ferrari-PR wording he was conditioned to use.
fast forward, he started interracting with ferrari by abu dhabi and seemed to be finally happy with the direction the team was taking. however, he still managed to build something from this anti-ferrari period -- the slow rebrand from being "charles, the ferrari driver" to "charles, the f1 driver".
charles is slowly, but surely working to increase the value of his personal brand to possibly gain more negotiating power, and other bonuses that come with having a strong personal brand not tied to any team in particular.
in general, the goal would be to outgrow the team so you are known as an individual athlete, not just someone who drives for the particular team and has their identity tied to the team only.
he also signed with WME for advertisement purposes, he started wearing his personal clothing brand CLACE again after ferrari banned him to do so. he clearly regained more confidence in what he can do as an athlete within the contract (that's usually very limiting from ferrari's pov).
how does he otherwise work on his personal brand? relatability. charles is a gen z child first and foremost, he knows parasocial relationships play a huge role on social media. he works on side personal projects like the LA vlog -- the vlog that had little to do with racing but still showed charles completely SUCK at basketball.
why would you include it, you may ask? it makes him relatable, it makes his personality more interersting. more fun.
his first public post from winter training then was him falling

why did he post that? well, a) he's a silly guy. but more importantly, b) he's not crafting up a perfect PR image, he's aiming for being relatable, showcasing more of his personality. he wants to stand out as an individual in the sea of other f1 drivers who posted more pre-planned content during their winter training.
in the LA vlog he also left in a little dig at carlos. why? because he can. he also used his twitter likes to like controversial things that ferrari wouldn't let him say. he very much knows how to navigate online spaces and how to create more boundaries between his personal brand and the ferrari brand.
additionally, he also now hangs out with people like max publicly even if they don't benefit the ferrari brand. max, in general, isn't liked by the tifosi or ferrari in general. but charles still makes sure to hang out with him on track and outside of it, once again, securing his personal brand and not pushing something that ferrari would prefer.
it's all very interesting to watch, seeing how carefully he's rebuilding his public image and how he communicates on social media with the world.

"The Biden administration on Thursday [August 15, 2024] released prices for the first 10 prescription drugs that were subject to landmark negotiations between drugmakers and Medicare, a milestone in a controversial process that aims to make costly medications more affordable for older Americans.
The government estimates that the new negotiated prices for the medications will lead to around $6 billion in net savings for the Medicare program in 2026 alone when they officially go into effect, or 22% net savings overall. That is based on the estimated savings the prices would have produced if they were in effect in 2023, senior administration officials told reporters Wednesday.
The Biden administration also expects the new prices to save Medicare enrollees $1.5 billion in out-of-pocket costs in 2026 alone.
“For so many people, being able to afford these drugs will mean the difference between debilitating illness and living full lives,” Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, told reporters. “These negotiated prices. They’re not just about costs. They are about helping to make sure that your father, your grandfather or you can live longer, healthier.”
It comes one day before the second anniversary of President Joe Biden’s signature Inflation Reduction Act, which gave Medicare the power to directly hash out drug prices with manufacturers for the first time in the federal program’s nearly 60-year history.
Here are the negotiated prices for a 30-day supply of the 10 drugs, along with their list prices based on 2023 prescription fills, according to a Biden administration fact sheet Thursday.
What Medicare and beneficiaries pay for a drug is often much less than the list price, which is what a wholesaler, distributor or other direct purchaser paid a manufacturer for a medication before any discounts...
The administration unveiled the first set of medications selected for the price talks in August 2023, kicking off a nearly yearlong negotiation period that ended at the beginning of the month.
The final prices give drugmakers, which fiercely oppose the policy, a glimpse of how much revenue they could expect to lose over the next few years. It also sets a precedent for the additional rounds of Medicare drug price negotiations, which will kick off in 2025 and beyond.

In a statement Thursday, Biden called the new negotiated prices a “historic milestone” made possible because of the Inflation Reduction Act. He specifically touted Vice President Kamala Harris’ tiebreaking vote for the law in the Senate in 2022.
Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, said in a statement that she was proud to cast that deciding vote, adding there is more work to be done to lower health-care costs for Americans.
“Today’s announcement will be lifechanging for so many of our loved ones across the nation, and we are not stopping here,” Harris said in a statement Thursday, noting that additional prescription drugs will be selected for future rounds of negotiations."

"Remember the first one?" The interviewer leaned in, a glint of excitement in his eye. Nico nodded, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips. "The first is always unforgettable, but this one meant a little more, we needed those goals,” he said, his voice echoing with the same energy as the night he first scored a natural hat trick. His eyes briefly drifted to his black Jersey sweater hanging in his locker, a silent witness to his triumphs back then as well as tonight. The room grew quiet as they all recounted the electric atmosphere of the stadium, the roar of the crowd, and the pure adrenaline that had fueled the team’s performance afterwards.
But the moment was cut short by a new voice, a sharp, nasal tone that pierced the nostalgic buzz like a misplaced slap shot. "Nico, I noticed your girlfriend in the stands tonight, and she's quite... substantial," the reporter said, her pen poised over her notepad like a knife ready to strike. Jack and Luke’s eyes widened in the corner of the room where they had been quietly observing. The two suddenly eager to jump up to the podium and speak for once, but were confident in their teammate, their sister’s boyfriend to turn this around.
Nico felt his stomach drop and his heart rate spike. The question was loaded, the kind that could turn the room colder than the ice beneath his skates ever was. He took a deep breath, swallowing hard, in an attempt to try and keep his cool.
"What I mean to say is, with your popular status in the NHL, you could have your pick of women. What keeps you with someone who... well, let's just say, isn't quite the typical 'hockey significant other'?" Everyone in the room seemed to hold their breath, each cameramen's lense zooming in, eager for his response.
Nico's eyes narrowed, and his jaw tightened. He knew Y/n was sensitive about her size and had always tried to shield her from such invasive scrutiny. He glanced over at her where she now stood Jack and Luke’s protective hold. Even through this she managed to give him a small smile. Always managing to be his light in the darkest times.
He had to handle this delicately, but firmly. He took a step closer to the podium, his fingers tightening around the edges. "My relationship with Y/n is none of your business," he began, his voice low and measured. "But what I will say is, she's the most amazing person I've ever met." The reporter's smile didn't falter, her eyes gleaming with the scent of controversy.
“Oh, come on," she pushed, her voice dripping with annoyance. "You're an elite star athlete in the NHL, you could be with a supermodel for crying out loud. What do you possibly see in her?" The room remained silent, eyes flickering between Y/n, Nico, and the reporter. The reporter had crossed a line, and she knew it, but she was like a shark smelling blood in the water. Nico's grip on the podium was so tight his knuckles were turning white.
"What I see in Y/n is what truly matters," he said, his voice steady despite the rising anger. "Her kindness, her strength, her humor, and her unconditional love." His eyes stared daggers straight through the disgustingly horrible reporter, leaving no room for misunderstanding.
He took a deep breath, ready to lay it all on the line. "She's got more heart than anyone I've ever met, and that's what makes her beautiful. She's smart, she's caring, and she's the reason I come home with a smile on my face after every game. She's not just my girlfriend, she's my rock, my confidante, and my best friend." The room was so quiet you could hear buzz of the microphones, of each recorder. "And let's be clear," he added, his voice taking on a sharper edge. "Her size has never been, and never will be, an issue for me. It's sickening close minded people like you who have a problem with it. She's more than enough for me, she's everything."
He closed his eyes in an attempt to center himself. Opening back up he glanced over to her two brothers, who stood ready to jump in and defend her this entire time if Nico didnt do his job properly.
Instead of stepping in, Jack let go of his younger sister and started clapping for his captain starting a collective applause from others in the room. The snooty reported stomped out of the press room displeased with Nico’s answers.
Nico left from behind the podium, headed straight to his love. His stride was powerful and commanding, every step with purpose through the room, leaving no doubt about his intentions. When he reached her, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into his embrace. The room watched in awe as he held her tightly, his athletic frame a perfect contrast to her figure.
Seeing them together like so left no room to question if they were made for each other or not. The answer was that they were the perfect fit for one another.
