Bring Peace to the World: The Triforce as a Practical Framework for Spiritual Growth
What exactly does it mean to be a Zelda pagan? What is the path and what is the ultimate destination? What are the core tenants and what does a daily practice based on them look like?
For me, the primary driving force functioning as a signpost of my practice is the Triforce and its composite parts. The goal is to live a life that keeps courage, power, and wisdom in relative balance, developing those aspects where they are lacking and tempering over-development of any one with the others. Courage, for example, is a wonderful trait, but not if wisdom is not applied in certain scenarios to allow for balance between the two. Skydiving may be a courageous act, but lacking the wisdom to take along a parachute will certainly land you in trouble. Likewise, applying power without wisdom can lead to precisely the sort of tyrannical entitlement demonstrated by Ganondorf across the franchise.
In her essay “Triforce Heroes and Heroines: Transcending the Opposites Through the Golden Power” from The Psychology of Zelda, Angie Branham Mullins discusses the balancing of the Triforce as representative of Jungian individuation, but it can also be applied to a spiritual practice:
"The Triforce is at the core of many Legend of Zelda games. Generally, the goal of characters in the series is to reunite the Triforce’s three fragemented pieces in order to restore the form and function of this otherworldy item, because when it is whole, the Triforce represents balance and peace in the kingdom of Hyrule. But in order to mend the Triforce and wield the complete relic, the hero must themselves first possess balance between the three qualities the Triforce’s pieces represent: Wisdom, Power, and Courage" (191).
To even possess the complete Triforce, one must achieve personal development that warrants them as a worthy wielder. As we have seen in the games, simply touching the Triforce before one has properly prepared and developed oneself causes the Triforce to split. Without an internal balance, possession is simply not attainable.
That is just one part of the goal, however. As Millins notes above, achieving the inner balance needed to possess the Triforce is followed by spreading that balance outward. The peace wrought by the reunification of the Triforce is the gift of the hero to society at large, not merely to himself.
This goal is seen on a microcosmic level in both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, when after granting Link either a heart or stamina container, the various village Hylia statues tell him, “Go, and bring peace to Hyrule/the world…” The hero receives a boon, and then is directed by the goddess herself to use it on his quest to better the world around him.
These containers are not merely handed out, but must be earned by completing shrines in each game. Link must remain engaged in smaller, incremental acts of self-improvement in order to slowly build his health and his strength and take on progressively more difficult challenges. As Mullins explains, so is it too with the Triforce:
"The pursuit of the Triforce’s reunification serves as a catalyst for Link and the other characters’ growth—their development into their destined roles—and the fulfillment of their purpose" (193).
That ultimate purpose, as dictated by the goddess Hylia herself, is to bring peace not just to oneself, but to society at large.
And that is, ultimately, the goal of a Zelda pagan. Make yourself into a better version of you, using the elements of the Triforce as a framework, in order to be in a better position to improve the world around you.
Ultimately, the journey of self-improvement can be walked in whatever way feels best to an individual practitioner. For me, I prefer to give each of the elements due attention before moving on to the next. It is for that reason that I divide the year up into different “seasons” for each of the Golden Goddesses and their respective pieces of the Triforce. This most closely mirrors Link’s journeys in games, moving methodically around the map, overcoming specific challenges in a set order, and not being able to move on until certain criteria have been met and relics acquired. In this way, the pieces of the Triforce also serve as gates of initiation.
It is also perfectly acceptable, however, to continuously work on all three aspects of the Triforce at once on a daily or weekly basis. For some, it makes more sense to aim for improvement of these features every day than keep them fragmented across months.
The important thing is an eventual sense of balance; without any one piece of the Triforce getting an equal share of development within the self, the whole thing will crumble. As Mullins states,
"To bring the Triforce to its original composition is a balancing act. The Triforces of Courage and Wisdom create the bridge needed to stabilize the third, top triangle, the Triforce of Power. Then the pieces are put in proper relationship to one another, the Triforce is able to experience wholeness; balance is achieved. The wish can be granted" (215).
The best visual representation of the Triforce journey is also in BotW and TotK, specifically at the Temple of Time. From the roof, one can easily see a route up the hill into the Temple:

Here can be seen a set of staircases, starting in front of the fountain plaza toward the upper center, veering (from this view) to just above Link’s head, up another set of stairs to the far right of Link here, then up to the center just in front of the Temple itself. Along this route are smaller temples dedicated to the three Golden Goddesses, in order of Farore, Nayru, and finally Din, thus creating a walkable representation of the Triforce. The small temples are in varying states of disrepair, but they each include the goddess’ symbols on the floors. These can be very difficult to see due to the overall deterioration of the area, but the symbols do peep through:

From Din’s temple are two sets of stairs on either side going up to the entrance to the Temple of Time. Interestingly, on the floor in front of the large Hylia statue within the Temple is the complete Triforce.

The implication here (at least, in my own head-canon) is that worship of Hylia also inherently included first paying respects to each of the three Golden Goddesses, and worshippers perhaps needed to account for the three parts of the Triforce before they were adequately prepared to engage with Hylia, obviously now the primary goddess. It should also be remembered from Skyward Sword that Hylia was charged with protecting the Triforce, and the layout of the Temple of Time and the smaller goddess temples, plus that seal in front of the Hylia statue, is a nice physical and visual throwback to that aspect of her power and responsibility.
Is it required that one arrange their practice in the order laid out around the Temple of Time? I would argue that is up to the individual practitioner. For me, with the arrangement of the Triforce elements across the year, the order is more reliant on the reality of which months best correlate to each element. I am starting the season of Farore now, which will be followed by the season of Din through the summer and early fall (as the hottest and then most colorful months, correlating with fire), and then finally the season of Nayru for late fall through winter (time to withdraw to focus on internal wisdom, as well as a focus on water in its various forms). Obviously not the “correct” order as demonstrated above. However, there are ways to integrate this order into specific ceremonies, or if a daily/weekly routine is utilized that offers more freedom to organize as you see fit. The important part is simply to ensure the different aspects of the Triforce are given equal attention so that they can work together without any one being more or less developed than the others. Through this balance comes personal spiritual completion, from which one can work to enact positive change around themselves.

Equius Strengthen Talent Spell (Taken from @popculturepagan (now deactivated))
Equius admits that his supertroll strength is kind of freakish, and can be inconvenient, but boy does he love being STRONG. He drinks Lusus milk to help him stay STRONG. This spell is designed to help you channel Equius to strengthen your own talent. The idea is to take something about you, a talent or a trait, that makes you unique and make it even more powerful and talented!
What you will need:
A blue thread
Milk (Any kind— Equius prefers whole, but whatever your lusus picks for you is great too! If you are lactose intolerant, soy milk and almond milk are great alternatives.)
A small drinking glass, made of glass.
A Napkin and a Blue Pen
Whatever you need to perform your talent/trait
1. Pour yourself a glass of milk in a small glass drinking cup.
2. Take the blue thread, and very carefully wrap it around the cup. Wrap it around seven times, for luck. As you wrap the thread, think (or say) to yourself:
This is the thread that will bind me. As my talent grows, as my strength grows, let it work for me and never against me. This b100 100p wraps around and keeps me contained. This is the thread that will bind me.
Put a special emphasis on “blue loop”.
3. Draw the sigil for “Heir of Void” on the napkin in the blue pen and set the glass down on it.
. If you can, put it near a shrine or holy space. Pray quietly.
"This milk nourishes me. Soon I will be at 100 percent. In what I choose to be, I shall be STRONG."
4. Drink the milk. Drink all the milk.
5. Now, practice whatever your talent it— whether it be singing or art or reading or whatever it is— practice it for about 20 minutes. As you do, try to use as much of your body as possible. If you are drawing, move the pen with your whole arm. If its singing, really feel it come from the gut. Emote your feelings in large gestures. Get physical- use your body.
As you practice, you should feel energized. You should feel like your talent is pouring out of you. Hold on to that feeling as long as you can.
6. When you finish practicing, say or think “I do love being STRONG.” Really let the ‘strong’ rumble in your gut. If you want to, try to thank Equius for helping you increase you’re figurative strength.
7. Leave the glass, if you can, by your shrine or holy spot. Make sure ants or other bugs can’t get to it. If you want, you can repeat the process of pouring the milk, saying the prayers, drinking the milk and practicing, as many times as you like.
Every day you repeat the spell, try to hold the glass of milk a little gentler. Maybe hold it with a pinky out, then two fingers out… ex cetra. You are, of course, getting stronger!!
Every day that you drink the milk and practice with your entire body, you should get stronger. Continue the spell for a while and you will surely be a force to reckon with!!

#cronepost I am tired. It's been a rough few days, but you push through. Though I'm only 42, I'm in the beginning stages of #menopause. #Perimenopause they call it. What most women don't know is that menopause is a process that lasts 7 to 10 years. They don't teach us this crap in school. During this time, our #hormones and therefore, our bodies change. "The Big Change" they call it, but really it's a series of small changes over an extended period of time, and it's different for everyone. My symptoms may not be yours, and vice versa. Currently, I get VERY fatigued right before my cycle. Lethargic, sleepy. I just want my comfy bed, blankets and pillows. But I push through and this acceptance of this phase of my life, my transition into crone, has also made me more focused on my overall health. I've spent the last 38 days adjusting to a gallon of water a day. I'm write about that later. I've kick started (literally) working out regularly, taking my #health seriously and today is the last day of the #makefatcrychallenge. More to come. I also tried out the @dailyconcepts Mother Of Pearl Soap Sponge last night and damned if my hormonally broken out face (even with the high hydration) didn't exfoliate beautifully! Point is, as women, we're exceptionally lucky when we have other women (thanks mom!) who educate us on what to expect. I was, but infinitely many more aren't. As I enter this final #transformation stage, I'm going to take you with me (warts and all) to help guide, if you'll join me. #authenticallyyou #popculturepagan #witch #witchy #professionalgoth #witchesofinstagram🔮🌙 #witchesofinstagram #pagan #heathen #vamp #vampire #pagansofinstagram #vampiresofinstagram #goth #gothic #elder #eldergoth #crone #journey #menopausal #thebigchange https://www.instagram.com/p/B3KJqMuBhkU/?igshid=19wtma43x2n9r

Did anyone write down the Madoka Magica spells? I searched everywhere, all day, even my blog archive for them. But they're all gone.
What happened to them? I'm absolutely devastated at not finding anything....

Pop Culture Paganism: a ritual investigation
Ever a skeptic (and also a witch, go figure) I like to see and feel things myself to believe its worth it's altar salt. Ive decided to do a little investigative journalism with this pop-culture paganism stuff. I have to admit, I’m 33, I’m getting older, more eye-rolly and stuck in my ways. I’m also still an open minded person, so I wasn’t going to let myself get stuck. I’ve always tried anything once.
I've never been the best fan-girl of Pop culture, but if it came to something that I've done religiously for over a decade, can mouth lines of it like a prayer, occurs every few months, starts with the veneration and pomp of a Pope’s visit with popcorn- it would be watching The Fifth Element.
As if it was the first time, every time.
One thing about the Fifth Element- either you love or you hate it. Isn’t that the way it is with worship or religion for most people though? Spirituality is very much about personal perspective and feeling. Also I’m still old for picking something not modern, but hey, I’m trying. There are still hordes of people who dress like the characters of the movie at Comic Con, so there still is definitely a cult following!
The Plan
I don’t usually do extensive planning in my spells or rituals, they come pretty naturally. In this case, I had to make a little list the night before so I could make an honest attempt at this new type of ritual in the morning. Also, what a perfect excuse to watch my movie again.
Now, if you know anything about the movie... the supreme being who is destined to save the world, Leeloo Dallas (played by Mila Jovovich) is the embodiment of the Fifth Element, Love. What could be better to meditate on? But in this case- though I love me some Leeloo, I was going to focus on becoming the Fifth element of love.
I’ve decided to use my element stones as I would my crystals, to power up my intentions and body. As an herbalist and spiritual naturalist my daily worship is nature based, so using something elemental does make the new PCP trial a little easier to digest. A few years back my father and brother had taken a week to mold, carve and paint one of the best gifts I’ve ever received: replicas of the four handmade element stones. (Okay, I am a fangirl, happy now?) They had even wrapped them in blue to look like the Diva’s stomach!
Besides “multipass” and “chicken, good” there’s not a whole lot of super serious inspirational quotes to dig through. But with love being the centerpiece, you don’t need it. It’s what drives the story.
One of the Mondoshawan aliens in the movie sacrificed itself so that his knowledge of the Fifth Element would be passed down to the priests. It states “Time not important, only life important.” Going on this and collecting a few different ideas, I found my mantra.
The meditation part of my experience was immediately apparent: Diva Plavalaguna’s song, performed by Inva Mula. God, I couldn’t wait until tomorrow now.
The Experience
For my ritual, I set my stones up as they would go in the movie, with me in the middle.
I put on the Diva’s song
I ceremoniously placed a feather on the air stone. I used my moon water for the Water stone, I used altar salt for earth, I lit a small candle on top of Fire. As I sat in the middle with my eyes closed, I meditated, used mudras and swayed to the concept of love.
I whispered my incantation-
“Time is not important,
only life is important.
I am a supreme being,
I am born to protect.
There is no future
Without love.
I am love.”
In all honesty- I cried a little. The memory of yesterday’s rudeness from someone at my child’s school came to me. I left mad at him, I went to bed scorned. Today, I let it go. I gave him my love. I realized I hadn’t done a loving-kindness meditation in a long time, and it was very overdue.
Closing Thoughts
While only slightly disappointed a ray of light didn’t beam out of my mouth and destroy all the evil in the world- I’m fairly pleased with how it turned out.
In a way, pop culture witchcraft isn’t much different than self-care, celebrating you and what you love. If someone asked me about how to use PCP in their daily life, I’d recommend to start small, do research, and start with something you’re definitely passionate about.
While I don’t think I’ll personally be adding in pop culture references to my daily rituals, the experience itself was refreshing and reminded me I need to meditate more. I can see why others would use it, especially fun young people finding their way in this world. It’s something that can connect you with so many others who share your passions, yet does have the potential to be a valuable addition to someone’s self care regimen- Just don’t let the act only consume it’s true meaning to you. In my case: love, understanding and compassion hold a sacred space in my heart.
Now excuse me while I eat some chicken and watch my damn movie.

I'm a fan of Steven Universe. Any suggestions on how to arrange the gems and what they would do for me? (Rose Quartz, Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst, Peridot, and Lapis Lazuli. I understand if they don't all have the right properties, I was just curious.)
Hallo Anon!!! First off, I think it would be beneficial to know the properties of the stones themselves :) obviously cleansing and charging (and even programming) them will give you their top performance.
Rose Quartz: Matters of the heart; empathy, peace, love, and forgiveness!
Pearl: Faith, loyalty, truth and purity.
Garnet: Balances, strengthens, and protects.
Amethyst: Protection, improving psychic ability, remembering dreams, and deepening meditation
Peridot: Luck, protection from evil/malevolent magick, and neutralizing toxins of mind and body.
Lapis Lazuli: The crystal of truth! It also is for deepening mediation focus, increase in psychic abilities, and attracting magickal insights.
As for arranging them, I personally am very straight to the point and borderline lazy… So I would either carry them with me in my pocket or bag all jumbled, or just one at a time for what I want extra of that day, or I’ll arrange them color wise or alphabetically on my altar. Or prioritize them for what I want the most at this point in time to what would be cool as a perk.
I’m just dipping my feet into researching about crystal grids, which alternatively you could do, so here’s a very helpful link on how to do that (x).
Best wishes, love! I hope this helps!

Full Moons of Farore
There are so many things one can do on the full moon, but I choose to use the time to connect in a more formal capacity to Hylia, the Golden Goddesses, and the natural world around me. I have chosen names for each of the full moons that would make sense within a Hyrulean context; each of the goddess seasons has at least four. The full moons of the Season of Farore are:
March: Moon of Courage
March 1 is the first day of the Season of Farore, so it is fitting that the first full moon of her season be dedicated to contemplating her power specifically. In what ways can you show courage across the next few months on a larger scale than what you might in your day-to-day?
April: Moon of Wind
April is rainy, yes, but it also just incredibly windy as the weather shifts from still-wintery to spring. On this full moon, consider what bad habits, negative juju, or anything else holding you back can be blown away with the breeze, and what new opportunities you would like to have propelled your way.
May: Moon of Forest
Where I live, spring is not truly sprung until May hits, so this full moon is a wonderful time to simply drink in the leaves fully unfurled on the trees, the finally-warmer evenings to be enjoyed outdoors, and the much longer periods of daylight. On this full moon, sit and connect with a tree or plant and meditate for guidance from the Deku Tree or Kikwi Elder.
June: Moon of Honey
I absolutely love bees, so a full moon to honor them is a must. In-game of course the hornets and honeybees are rather antagonistic, but bees and their honey have been associated with the divine since antiquity. Their importance to the agricultural cycles around the globe cannot be understated, so take time on this full moon to honor these hard-working ladies who literally keep us fed and plant species propagating.

Arawn-Ainsworth | Dust's Aspect of Death and Rebirth
───────✧❁✧───────
Hello ladies, gents, and non-binary queens in between!
Today I'll be discussing a bit of #CelticPaganism mixed with a bit of #PopCulturePaganism. So, before we get started, I would like to explain that this is my UPG. Since it deals with a mix of pop culture entities and traditional entities, this should be taken as how I have come to interpret most pantheons coexisting in general. If it offends you, I am sorry—that wasn't the intent. If you're intrigued, I should be coming out with a post about it...at some point.
Now that the disclaimer is out of the way, on with the blog!
───────✧❁✧───────
WHO IS ELIAS AINSWORTH?
ELIAS AINSWORTH is a hybrid being that no one truly understands how he came into the world. It's implied that he not only forgot who he was but how he survived. Known to the Fae of his world as "Thorn", his magic usually takes the form of thorns or shadows. Known to the human mages and alchemists and the Church as either Elias or Ainsworth, he helps out the people of the Northern European region by making magic remedies or helping with magical problems.
When he decides to take Chise under his wing, he gives her something that she didn't remember having before—a will to live and not just exist. He mentors her, helps her with interpersonal relationships, and ultimately loves her. Together they learn the world is a lot brighter than what they originally thought. But, because of their interaction, both Elias and Chise go through a metaphorical rebirth into better people.
He also provides a bit of a sanctuary for some Fae that seem a bit different than most. For example, his maid Silver Lady is a Fae that was originally a banshee. She haunted what would become Elias's cottage for years before Oberon, in an act of kindness, gave her a purpose in her new life. She was meant to take care of the house and its residents, thus becoming Silver Lady. Elias, when he took over the house, let her stay since she was truly happiest ensuring all the inhabitants were cared for.
Ruth, the Chruch Grim, was another one of the Fae that found refuge in Elias's cottage—but that's because of Chise.
Chise herself even counts to an extent, since her Sleigh Beggie—Buggie? They were never clear on the spelling—status made her not quite Fae/Supernatural yet not quite human either. And it is through Elias's love, care, and mentorship that she not only finds a way to live mentally/emotionally but physically as well. By the end of the series, it is through Elias's initial act of bringing her into his home and treating her as decently as a theorized half-Fae can allowed that door for death and rebirth to open.
───────✧❁✧───────
───────✧❁✧───────
OKAY, AND HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO ARAWN?
I know what you're thinking. That Pop entity seems kinda cool, but how does this relate to Arawn?
I need to explain how I've come to interpret the world on a spiritual level before going into the nitty gritty.
At my belief's core, there is Dust.
Dust, in the vein of His Dark Materials, is the creator of all things. There first must be Dust before there even was God. They were called Shadows or Dark Matter by Phillip Pullman when their existence was introduced to our/Will's world.[¹|https://hisdarkmaterials.fandom.com/wiki/Dust]
Personally though, I see Dust more as sentient antimatter over dark matter. After all, if Dust created all things, it needed to be the antithesis of matter since matter can neither be created or destroyed—and something cannot come from nothing unless nothing is inherently something. From Dust, sprouted the primordial creation that would cause the first split in the multiverse, and, for different universes, different pantheons or no gods at all. When divining or doing entity work, we connect with Dust and from there also whichever entity we work with.
This leads into Arawn-Ainsworth, or how I view both Elias Ainsworth and Arawn to be the same being.
Let me explain:
When we first meet Arawn, in the first story of the first branch of the Mabinogion, it is in the story of Pwyll. Instead of punishing Pwyll for his indiscretion against him, Arawn trades places with the prince instead. It is through this trade, with Pwyll taking over the Otherworld for a year and Arawn taking over Pwyll's kingdom for a year, that Pwyll learns how to be a better ruler. And when he takes back up the mantle of Prince in the natural world, he keeps and thrives upon the wealth and change Arawn brought about. Being thrown into another world for a year rebirthed Pwyll in the sense of making it a better lesson on ruling than what was implied in the beginning of the story.
Like Elias, Arawn's both simultaneously apart of the Otherworld—where a lot of the Supernatural lay—and our world yet not really fitting nicely into either. In one, he is a king, and, in another, he represents death and the colder part of the year. However when humans interact with both Arawn and Elias, they leave with a better sense of themselves, the world around them, and/or how to be better.
It's a rebirth.
And in order to be reborn, you need to die.
It's all rather poetic in a sense, especially with Arawn's status of a god of death (or at least something close to it) in the Welsh Pantheon.
───────✧❁✧───────
───────✧❁✧───────
HOW IT ALL CONNECTS—AND, TRUST ME, IT DOES.
So, if we take everything I just said, from the Mabinogion—which you can get [here|https://book4you.org/book/2642392/ce18f8]—to that minor rundown of the Ancient Magus Bride, some patterns really start to emerge. While in name and in circumstances, they are two completely different entities, Elias and Arawn are almost exactly the same.
Conceptually, both men deal with the idea of death and rebirth. Perhaps the Ancient Magus Bride is much more advert with that then Arawn at this point in my research is, but they both fundamentally change their human counterparts. This is done through care, mentorship, and brought about through less-than-ideal meetings.
However, I think Arawn deals more with the death and moving on aspects of Dust and the multiverse while Elias Ainsworth deals more with the rebirth of a person.
Thus, we connect the two through their similarities and get Arawn-Ainsworth, Dust's Aspect of Death and Rebirth.
───────✧❁✧───────
CONCLUSIONS—THIS IS HOW I HONOR ARAWN
Like I said, there's a lot of UPG in this post. But it's what fits to me. When I say this is how I honor Arawn, I mean it.
To me, Arawn-Ainsworth is an entity that helps one go through the cycle of death and rebirth as they go through life. We constantly have to get rid of the old in order to learn the new, even if we're not entirely conscious that we are doing it. And through Arawn-Ainsworth, I hope to learn how to appreciate the darker parts of the year and death as much as I appreciate the change and the life that Elias Ainsworth represents. But you cannot have one without the other.
This post is the consequences of having a gnosis moment while watching Ancient Magus Bride and trying to research Celtic polytheism once more. I am aware that it's also very soft-polytheistic. Quite frankly though, it's what works best for me as of now.
I have already started offering tea that I think he likes, I'll need to double check when I finish offering it next. (Insert nervous chuckle here.) But this makes me feel quite at peace. And it meshes all my beliefs thus far together perfectly.
I hope I didn't offend anyone too much, and if I did, sorry. Again that wasn't the intent.
With love,
Honey

This is an action oriented response. 🦕 #scarletmooncreatins #geeklife #popculturemagick #geekandfaerie #tarotreadersofinstagram #popculturepaganism #divination #oracledeck #heartoffaeriesoracle #cartomancy #selfcare #witchesofinstagram #witchlr #priestess #witchywoman #divinationcommunity #geekculture #maytarotchallenge #geekpride #adventuretime #popculturetarot #popculturetarotcards #oraclereadersofinstagram #jurassicpark #scifi #sciencefiction https://www.instagram.com/p/B1ew16wHMEP/?igshid=1q2u2f7qjf8d7

Homestuck Pagan Celebrations Guide (original post by the now deactivated popculturepagan
This is my attempt at collecting all the information about Homestuck Pagan Celebrations into a single post for easy reference. I will add more to this post as it becomes relevant.
Last Edited: 9/12/2015. Added Festival of Dream Bubbles and Cherub Session enters after community suggestions. Added more information about Festival/Aspect relationships.
Homestuck Pagan Celebrations are dates that are of importance to Homestuck Pagans and Witches. Some, like 4/13 and 11/11, are taken from the canon of Homestuck itself. Other dates were designated by some Homestuck Pagans to give a celebration to certain characters or concepts. Celebrations reflect important events, such as the beginning of Sburb/Sgrub sessions, or character’s birthdays.
At the end of this post is a list of all the current Homestuck Pagan Celebrations and what they are about.
While the kid’s all have canonically known birthdays, the only troll with a known wriggling (birth) day is Karkat (on June 12th.) Karkat is associated with the Cancer zodiac sign, which becomes the star sign of birthdays starting on June 23rd (approximately), 11 days after Karkat’s wriggling day. To follow suit, observed wriggling days of the other beta trolls were placed 11 days before the change of the zodiac sign into the sign related to a character. The earlier date is the observed wriggling day for the beta trolls, while the date of the change of the zodiac sign is a larger celebration for all the trolls that share that sign. So, for example, February 9th is Feferi’s Wriggling Day (Observed), and 11 days later on February 20th is the Festival of Peixes.
(The actual date of the change of the zodiac changes every year, due to astronomical forces. The date of the change is within a 3-day range every year. For consistency’s sake, an arbitrary date within this 3 day range has been chosen to host the Festivals.)
The Troll Festivals are a more important, larger celebration than the wriggling days which are more reserved and character specific. Wriggling Days could be considered days of interests, while the Troll Festival is more of a holiday.
Troll Festivals are also celebration of certain aspects (such as the Nitram Festival also working as the Festival of Breath). These are days to reflect on the importance of those aspects in our lives, as well as all the heroes of that aspect.
You can choose which Homestuck Pagan Celebrations you choose to include in your practice, and how you celebrate or other wise incorporate them. There is no absolute way to be a Homestuck Pagan, and taking part in these celebrations is not required to be a “real” Homestuck Pagan! Your practice is your own!
Some of the things you can do on these dates include reblogging images and other posts to an online shrine or blog, offering thoughts or prayers for the relevant character(s), or converse with other Homestuck Pagans using the “#homestuck pagan” tag. You can create new spells or crafts with the character in mind, or share parts of your practice if you’d like. At this time, there is not any “standardized” way of celebrating.
For all of the Troll festivals, I have created a public Spotify playlist of songs that remind us of the characters. If you have Spotify, you can listen to these playlists and add your own songs. There will be links to these playlists below.
If you have any more questions about Homestuck Pagan Celebrations, you can send me an ask and I will do my best to answer and update this post.
