Vote Buying Scandal Mars Bayelsa and Kogi Elections
In a disheartening turn of events during the Bayelsa State gubernatorial election, vote-buying allegations surfaced, revealing a troubling scenario of voters being directed by individuals to a designated area for settlements after casting their votes. The situation escalated as some police officers were reportedly present at the polling unit, adding to the concerns about the integrity of the…

They don’t even attempt to assassinate US politicians anymore. You notice that? Not since the anthrax scare back for… who was it, Barack? And even that… pathetic. This new generation has no respect for an honest hitman. I’m not sure this new generation has any honest hitman - you see that shit with Boeing? Sloppy, fucking disgraceful - you kill the whistleblowers before they get halfway to a lawsuit. What kind of fucking amateur is doing faked suicides the night before testimony? Goddamn greenhorns. Back in my day someone tried to shoot Ronald Reagan in broad daylight. There used to be bomb threats to Congress. I took out a few union leaders in the utilities sector myself. Today’s generation? Won’t even threaten to throw a punch - not even over on that - what’s it now, ‘X’? They got no guts. None! And they don’t even have poor impulse control to boot! Too much of that - that panopticon anxiety bullshit. “Oh what if I get a called out post???” People used to send the president letters full of bioweapons. In the mail! Today’s generation? Not a chance. All because of woke.

I'm sure it's only a coincidence that a few days after Putin says Biden "needs to be undermined from the left" to help Trump win, noted Russian agent Jill Stein, who the Kremlin already extensively promoted in 2016 in the successful effort to hurt HRC, and who already endorsed fellow pro-Russian tankie Cornel West, jumps back into the 2024 race as the "Green Party candidate" talking about how "the two-party system has failed us."
For the love of fuck, let's not do this again.

THIS WEEK, WASHINGTON’S top Israel lobby is rallying its supporters to go to Capitol Hill and falsely claim to lawmakers that people aren’t starving in Gaza and Israel isn’t blocking aid shipments, according to talking points obtained by the American Prospect.
Israel has led a brutal siege on Gaza since Oct. 7, when Hamas killed 1,139 Israelis and kidnapped more than 200. More than 31,000 Palestinians have been killed, 2 million have been internally displaced, and hundreds of thousands are at imminent risk of famine, according to the United Nations.
The powerful lobbying group American Israel Public Affairs Committee, or AIPAC, is working to maintain support for Israel’s war, amid increased protests and public outcry. This week, AIPAC convened in Maryland for its annual policy conference, which it uses to marshal its donors and supporters to serve as a grassroots lobbying army in the halls of Congress.
The Prospect obtained a copy of AIPAC’s talking points for supporters heading to the Hill — and they are extreme, to say the least. The documents instruct supporters to claim that “reports that people are starving in Gaza are false,” and say that “Israel is not blocking the delivery of aid to Gaza.”
The AIPAC talking points additionally claim that Hamas wants people to believe Gazans are starving in order to “exert pressure” on Israel, and argues the “United States must not fall into Hamas’ trap.”
Tumblr media
These claims from AIPAC are false. Gazans are starving on a massive, unprecedented scale. According to the United Nations, 2.2 million Palestinians in Gaza — almost the entire population of the region — are facing “crisis or worse levels of food insecurity.” Half a million of those included in that figure face “catastrophic” levels of food insecurity.
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) — a leading food security analysis and advocacy group — classifies the Gaza Strip as being in Phase 4 “Emergency” status food insecurity, with a high risk of imminent famine conditions.

So theres an arc I have where 4 becomes the new captain while 3s down after the Biggest Run, right. The Cap4 arc focuses on 4s efforts to investigate the strange changes happening to the salmonid migration patterns via infiltrating Grizzco.
Epic the musical’s songs are one HELL of a way to tell the tale, even if its not one to one!! Since the Wisdom saga releases in 3 days Im going to be drawing up one scene per song and how it would play out in the Cap4 arc :)

Couldn't stop thinking about Spies Are Forever since seeing it live in London sooo
I figured out what specific time window it's set in!
We know that at the start of the show Cynthia is on the phone with Nixon and refers to him as Vice President
Tumblr media
Weeellll thanks to my partner laughing their ass off when I showed them and them then questioning the historical accuracy of the joke, we then looked when/if Richard Nixon ever was Vice president
And he was! Under Dwight D. Eisenhower, whose presidency ran from january 20 1953 - january 20 1961
(This might be common knowledge, but I'm not american so whooo to me for learning something new)
JFK was elected right after, which is in line with the historical accuracy of saf, since at the end of the show, we again see Cynthia at the phone, this time with President Kennedy
Tumblr media
Here's a nice chart for better visualisation:
Tumblr media
Also! In the first phonecall she has with Nixon, she refers to an election he lost!
Tumblr media
(Again very well may be common knowledge, but my non-american ass doesn't know SHIT)
So to my partner: Spies Are Forever is wonderfully historically accurate :)
To everyone else: the play takes place over 5-6 days, so using the 20th of january as point zero, with a margin of ± 6 days, we can say that the main plot of Spies Are Forever takes place sometime between january 14 1961 and january 26 1961!
Tl;dr Spies Are Forever takes place over the course of 5-6 days between January 14 1961 - January 26 1961

Elections • A. Hotchner
A/n: this is self indulgent and heavily politically charged. I need to get how I’m feeling out in one way or another. So. …
There was only one thing you didn’t want to wake up to today. Weeks of going out and spreading the word. Hours of pacing, worry, anxiety, fear, filling you from the tips of your toes to the halo a top your head.
Election Day had never been this difficult. Usually you could see a light at the end of the tunnel but not this time. This time it felt like you were going to wake up drowning if the wrong side won.
Aaron was working. He had to be. You were home alone, everything spotless thanks to the anxious cleaning you did.
He’d been keeping tabs, knowing how much this was getting to you. You’d cried into his arms a few times already so it was no wonder that he was trying to get home to you now.
Because the first thing you and all Americans did the second they woke up was check the polls. 209 - 277.
He won.
Again.
Bile immediately grew in your throat, barely making it to the bathroom before it came out of your mouth. Retching with fear, anger and anxiety.
This meant horrible things. That you, a woman, were going to be the target of negativity for at least the next four years.
Your phone was ringing but it wasn’t audible over the higher pitch in your ear. The news wasn’t on and you were so glad it wasn’t because what exactly would that pull from you?
More tears? Screams?
It felt like hours you’d sat there on the tile floor, eyes starting to burn and thoughts running back and forth.
Leaving was always an option. But maybe not when your husband worked for the government.
Sterilization, except you were 34 and have no biological kids.
Abstaining, the most likely option at the moment but you’d miss the way Aaron held you before, during and after.
You didn’t hear the key in the door downstairs or the footsteps cracking the wood of the steps. The only sign someone was home was the bathroom light flicking on and the LED lights replacing the small bit of natural sunlight to hit your eyes.
“Oh sweetheart…” Aaron’s voice was so soft and warm it immediately brought another strong wave of tears out.
For you, for any possible child you’d have, your friends. Everything.
“I know…” he held you to his chest, knowing… knowing there was little he could do now. That anyone could do.
It took a small while before you got a calm spot. Eyes too tired to create anymore.
“Let’s get you up.” His voice gentle as he flushed the puke that still sat in the toilet and helped you up. Your body was numb.
Both from your emotions and position.
“We’ll figure something out.” He tried to make you feel better but how could he? How? You felt like someone shot you dead without ever pulling an actual trigger.
“You can’t.” Your voice raspy and full of congestion.
“Like hell I can’t. We are going to figure this out. As a couple. As a family, a country. We. Will fix this. And I would burn anything down that tried to get to you.” His voice was so firm, so full of his own fear for you that it made your heart lurch.
“This is just day one of a fight. I have no right to tell you this, but today you mourn, and tomorrow, if you can, you get back out there and you fight as hard as you have to. And i will have your back.”
“We all will.”
“Don’t do that. I am SO angry Aaron. I want to fight NOW.”
You take a breath.
“I want to scream and cry and get into a fight with everyone that voted the way they did. It’s like I have a huge bag of flames in my stomach that I want to spit out at anyone I talk to…”
“Everyone. I’m angry.”
Tumblr media
I’m not even gonna promo down here or tag anyone. I’m just so devastated and wish I had this.
