Flambe
-
Go on and worship me.
I'll let the flames
Ignite and swallow me whole.
I'll burn from the inside,
With a smile,
Watch me take control.
Try not to be surprised,
When you see how fast I change.
You think you know all about fire,
But I burn hotter in the rain.

I was always nothing
Too fat, too flat
Makeup not well-kept
An insecure mess with a smile
But to them I seemed steady
I only shake from the inside
So they continued to tell me how they felt
Now I track what I eat
I spend more time getting ready
But still I’m occasionally rocked
An insecure mess with a smile
They tell me I’m pretty
But in the end at what cost?

May [9/9/24]
may flowers grow from your ribs
and may moss cover your limbs
i ask that you'll return
to the earth that brought you in
may the deer graze near your bones
may your legacy remain intact
may you forever go forward
and may you fondly look back
may your skull wear a crown of roses
and may your body be adorned
may your memory be golden
and may it never once be scorned
may your death be peaceful
and ready, and true
and may they now feel the love
that they all had for you

I can recall that magic moment
When you first came into my sight
Like fleeting vision, like an omen
Of pure beauty and delight.
So often in my dark surrender,
In stressful days of mundane race
I heard your voice so sweet and tender
And dreamed of your delightful grace.
As years passed and storms got stronger
I lost my dreams to mundane race
I could recall your voice no longer
I could not see your lovely face.
Inprisoned in my desperation
Dragged into misery and strife,
Without God and inspiration
Without tears, love and life.
And then one day my soul awoken
And you came back into my sight
Like fleeting vision, like an omen
Of pure beauty and delight.
My heart beats fast in admiration
And resurrected spirit of
Divinity, and inspiration
And ever tears, life and love.
Alexander Pushkin / To *** / 1825 / translated into English by Nina Milova

Untitled Poem I Wrote
Sometimes, I feel like a fragment
Like I’m just a part of who I used to be
And my emotions have gone stagnant
I look at myself and ask “Is this me?”
I gaze at the mirror, questioning my eyes
This can’t be right, this can’t be real
Is this life I have just a disguise?
Why can’t this Godforsaken mask just peel?
One body, so many people
Everything I say is a lie
I can’t even be honest at the steeple
Too many feelings, so I suck them up dry
I revisit my past and tremble in fear
I don’t wanna see it, I don’t wanna know it
But when I do, everything is clear
You are the one who crushed my identity to bits

Ame damnee
-
Being born an angel
With wings that shimmer;
Choiceless.
You will be good,
They will cheer for you.
I took fire to my innocence,
Stood before them with scars
And rage.
"Too loud." They'd fuss,
"Opinionated. Bossy. Bitch."
My body would tremble with the reminder
Of what I was born to be.
Beautiful and quiet.
You came along, and I spoke evenly.
Directly.
And stars filled your eyes,
You reached for me with hunger.
"An angel?!" You cooed,
"You're so brave!"
But what about my wings and beauty?
What about the light?
You cheered for me in the darkness,
Without the promise of my blessing,
Awed by the conviction
I was cast out of Heaven for.
Brave.
I'd never heard that before.
The glow I was born with,
Seemed to crack within me.
Twisting and branching into something new.
We laughed together,
And though I was told they'd cheer for me-
I cheered for you.
I cheered for you.

June 2nd
Soft whirring and clicking fills the dust-stuffed, late afternoon sunbeam-illuminated study that exists only within myself.
Rolodex shifting, textured paper of my thoughts soaking in the sweat-damp of my fingertips until I am dry
Sorting stiff cards back and forth, some yellow-aged and others fresh-printed
Click. Click, whirr. Shift. Sigh.
Each label stamped so clearly, so deliberately in firm, confident black ink.
What to do. Why to do it.
Hobbies, projects, dreams, hopes, futures. Steps forward
Click, click, whirr. Shift. Sigh.
If only I could fumble my shifting, indecisive moves thoroughly enough to earn a paper cut
Maybe the stinging sharpness will spark some decision, blossoming red wetness staining a card,
Tempting me to pluck it and make a decision.
Click. Click. Click. Whirr.
Time passes.
I have made no choices.
Nothing happens.
Click, click, whirr.
Shift.
Sigh.

Oh, you foolish child
Who said you haven’t found love?
Who said you don’t have it already?
Just look around,
Look at those in your life.
You are so full of love,
As is what surrounds you.
For love has never left your side.

The Verdict (an original poem)
Tumblr media
the new version of this poem, I have previously released some of it. It's the story of when the tics came on, I thought it was the end.
