But when people call me women or girl smth just.. doesnt sound right to me to be honest, like I know I'm not a man but a woman seems also kinda.... thats actually really similar to how i started exploring my gender! i am a very feminine person but when i started figuring out my sexuality i also started realizing how much i disliked being read as feminine by other people despite liking being feminine. and how much i liked more masculine compliments and indentifiers. i started out id-ing as a cis bi girl and then a bi nb guy and then bi trans guy and then gay nb and now nb lesbian so its BEEN a process lmao and i know how frustrating it is to feel like you dont have it all figured out or to think you have it figured out only for you to realize it doesnt quite fit anymore later on. it feels a lot like you have to restart the whole process, but in reality i think its more of a checkpoint, ya know? sometimes we have to make a lot of stops and try out a lot of things before we find something that fits and thats totally fine. for me it was like. when i realized i was not cis it felt like running as far away as i would from my agab and then slowly coming back to poke it with a stick kjgfhkj.

and its definetly so complicated when you feel like the terms you want to identify with are "contradictory," we don't really have the vocabulary in english to describe how we experience our gender properly most of the time and some things just dont fit and its hard to explain exactly *why* to someone who doesnt Get It. but maybe its partially a blessing in disguise, bcs it lets us really test things out and play around until it feels right. you can definetly id your gender as wlw, i personally describe my gender as "lesbian" bcs i feel thats the only thing that still ties me to "womanhood." i do get what you mean tho, it was really scary for me too to start using "contradictory" identifiers, like im a lesbian but i use he/they pronouns and i like presenting fem but i hate when people assume im a woman or straight because of it. it really is frustrating trying to figure all this out when everyone around you treats gender like something they get to project onto you and feeling like you need to play into that in order to feel "real." i still have a lot of trouble detatching my gender identity from other peoples assumptions and expectations, so it feels a bit hypocritical to try to give advice on that lol, but i think it all comes back to figuring out what *you* want first and foremost, having trusted people who you can talk to and experiment with, and seeing it as a learning opportunity more than a "goal" or "destination."

chapter 4: it only takes a taste

Time goes by so fast and I swear my uniform shrunk in the washing machine. I’ll have to ask doctor Barnes when I’m gonna start showing cause the girls say I still look normal but my clothes disagree.

Thank god Quentin’s still clueless about the baby and I’m happy about it. I just wish he’d find a job, that way maybe I could tell him and we could save money together instead of me doing all the work while he’s out having all the fun. I don’t mind that he spends a lot of time at the bar with his friends, it actually gives me a breather from time to time. I wouldn’t complain at all if he was buying his six packs with his own money. I’m worried about him though. He comes so late every night and he’s always in a bad mood, always complaining. Let’s just hope tonight his football team wins or I won’t hear the end of it.

“Y/N, did you bring me leftovers again? It’s been four weeks since my first visit to the doctor and my next appointment’s this evening after work. Wanda really hit it off with Steve and since that day, they’ve been on several more dates. I open the camera app on my phone to use as a mirror. Is my face too plain? Should I have put some lipstick on? Jesus, it’s just a doctor’s appointment. “Okay, well, let’s check that tiny baby of yours, hop onto the table please”.

I do as he says and he smears some cold gel on my still normal belly, and then starts moving the scanner around.

“There’s the little peanut! You ready to listen to their heartbeat?” Bucky smiles at me softly and I nod.

I find myself feeling excited for the first time. And then I hear it. Steady and strong. And doctor Barnes disappears from my mind. For an instant I just hear that sound and I can’t wait to hold this baby in my arms. Everything feels connected and right.

“I’ll print you some pictures to keep and I made a recording of the heartbeat so you can have it too”.

“Thank you, I have another question though”.

“Shoot!”

“Did you like the pie?”

He’s blushing again. The rosy tone in his cheeks makes the blue of his eyes even brighter.

“Did I like- Oh my god! I can’t even begin to tell you how much I LOVED that pie! It only takes a taste, doesnt it?”

“What?”

“Y/N, I don’t think I’ve ever had anything as biblically good as that pie. I think I ascended into another dimension the moment I had that first taste. Did you really make it? Cause if you didn’t I need to know the store so I can get some more, now be honest!”

“I really made it”. I smile and tuck my hair behind my ear. Goodness, I’m the one who’s blushing now, but he is complimenting my work!

And I made things awkward.

They were at a party. They were standing in the kitchen. The Contrabbandieri. “I just don’t know how to. It seems different. It’s not like girls. They know what the outcome is no matter what you say. What if he just thinks I am being nice? Like what if he doesn’t realise what I am trying to do?” All these worries came flooding out of Elia. It was nothing new that Elia liked boys. Or the fact that he liked Fili. But Elia had never really tried going after guys. In all honestly, Marti’s coming out had pushed him to try. But he had no idea to go about it. For some reason, he did not think the infamous suitcase story would woo Fili as much as it did 16-year-old drunk girls. So here he was, getting flirting tips from the only people he could ask but admittedly also the worst people. But then something amazing happened. “Just take it over the top. Show him exactly what you mean. How desperate you are for him to notice you and your intentions.” They all turned to look at Nico. “Hey! I am not desperate for him. I just would much like his face on mine…” They all laughed. A little at him but it was okay. 

“What are we discussing?” A new voice quipped. Fili was there. Tension. Immediately. All the boys exchanged looks. Then Elia gave Marti a nod. “We were trying to teach Elia how to flirt with guys… because he has never done that before but frankly I don’t think we are the best group to consult…” Fili looked at Elia who suddenly found the label on his beer very fascinating. “So, boys, huh? That’s new.” Elia just nodded. He would very much like for the world to open up and swallow him whole right about now. “I was saying since he scared it won’t get picked up on due to the lack of heteronormativity he should just be very clear in his intentions and just show exactly how fucking desperate he is.” Nico grinned when Elia shot him a dirty look. “I. Am. Not. Desperate.” They all chuckled. “Well, it sure is good I came around, isn’t it. I can take in another mentee. You don’t mind, do you, Marti?” His question was aimed at Marti but his eyes didn’t leave Elia. Observing. Analyzing. “Nope. Not at all. Come on, guys. I think we have tried as much as we can. And I would like to go dance now. Come on.”

And then there were two. Alone. And Elia felt like his mouth was sewn shut. “So, guys, when did that happen?” Elia shrugged. But then it all came running. “It’s always been this way. It’s nothing new really. I just never did anything about it because, you know, and then Marti came out and it was all fine and I guess I just got more curious and maybe a bit more open about it and then I told the guys and obviously they were fine and Marti said he kinda knew and the rest were also fine. And now I am here. Feeling very embarrassed if you can’t tell by my rambling.” Elia inhaled deeply. Fili laughed. They were standing opposite each other, both leaning on the counter. Elia tried not to stare too much. But it was hard. The soft smile on his face. The piercing in his lip. The loose shirt unbuttoned just a bit so Elia could see the skin on his chest. Fili looked almost knowing and it made Elia burn. He knew how red his face was. 

“Well, do you know if this guy is even into guys?” Elia nodded. “Does he know about you?” Elia hesitated but nodded. “Then shouldn’t he kinda know what is happening? If he has that information?” Elia shrugged. “I am not sure. I just don’t know how to randomly just start a conversation with him.” Fili shrugged. “Do me.” Elia froze. What the hell. “You can practice with me. I’ll be whoever this guy is and I’ll tell if you did well or not.” Elia looked away. “I don’t know. Seems awkward.” “No, really, go ahead. It’s better to do it with me than the guy you actually are going for. Hopefully, this will help.” Oh god. He was really going to this, wasn’t he? Dammit. He had one card on his hand and there was no way he was telling the story. “Can’t you start. I’ll see what to then…” Elia tried. Fili nodded. “Okay. Well, if you are at a party like now, see if he is alone, then just go up to him and say hi. It doesn’t have to be complicated. You could always give him a compliment or something. Like, nice shirt. Something not too forward. And then hopefully he will actually respond with something useful that can start your convo. And then it’s all about body language. Turn towards him, actually pay attention. And as long as your tone of voice is flirty, a lot of mundane things will come across that way. Don’t worry. You’re a handsome guy, I am sure he will be into it.” Elia blushed. Fili stepped forward, leaving his beer behind. He placed a hand Elia’s shoulder. “It’ll be okay. It’s not that different from girls. And I know you can do that. Kinda,” Fili joked. 

A week later Elia still hadn’t made a move on Fili. It was too awkward now. How could he ever go “Oh, by the way, that guy was actually you so you basically told me how to flirt with you isn’t that just hilarious?” He dug himself a hole and it was deep. The boys thought it was hilarious. Elia did not. However, one good thing had come out of that night. Fili had given Elia his number. In case he ever needed it. Or wanted to thank him for helping him get laid. Elia had one again blushed at his comment. But Fili was part of their social group and it was hard to avoid him. He was at all the parties, more so than usual, which was just really annoying. And the guys would not let him forget. Not even when he found new people to go after. Girls, nonetheless, but he still noticed Fili wherever he was. So when Fili approached him as he was returning from the kitchen he was not surprised. “Did you give up on the guy? Or is he just in very convincing drag?” Fili joked. “Yeah, uhm, girls are easier I suppose. Less work. Less nerves.” Fili nodded. “So, you’re not hung up on that guy anymore then?” Elia shook his head. “Oh, couldn’t keep your interest, could he?” Fili prodded with a smirk. Elia shrugged. “Well, such a handsome guy like you has a lot of options, I am sure.” Vaguely uncomfortable. Either he was losing his mind or Fili’s tone of voice had changed. Was he flirting with him? He was alone when Fili approached him. He had complimented him. And he knew Elia liked guys. And he knew that Elia knew that Fili liked guys. Check, check, check. Oh my god. Elia was not ready for this. “Uhm…” Elia had no words. “Wanna go for a smoke?” Fili held up a joint. Elia nodded. 

The air outside was not cold. The summer nights were light and warm. But the light meant you couldn’t hide. And that terrified Elia. They sat down leaning against the balcony wall. They smoked and talked for a while until the conversation died out. Both because of the weed haze but also a sense of comfort had settled. Oh god. Elia knew this was a bad idea but the alcohol and weed gave him a false sense of what was appropriate and he couldn’t stop it. “It was you.” It hung in the air for a while and Elia almost thought he hadn’t said it out loud. “I knew. But watching you squirm was fun.” Asshole. But he laughed. They both did. Suddenly it seemed easy. The weed making them feel alone in the world. Just them. And Elia did it. He turned and Fili did too. He brought a hand up to Fili’s face. “Can I?” Fili nodded. He leaned in and they kissed. It was both everything he thought it would be and not at all. It was slow and lazy but a buried frenzy lied beneath it. The world disappeared. Elia felt his head spin and he could barely feel the reality around him. Nothing seemed real. But then a hand found his thigh and it squeezed. That was real. Time no longer felt real either. He had no idea how long this went on. But at one point they got up. They reentered the house. The music drumming. Fili smiled at him. It was alright. It wasn’t that different after all. Just right. 

The next day they met up for coffee. It was a little weird but somehow familiar. It felt safe and comfortable and new and daring. Elia gave that all to the amazing wonder that was Filippo Sava.

hmmm… well to usually set the mood would depend on the type of story I’m writing, if its horror/really angsty shit then I’m definitely going for dark themed music, if its something fluffy n cute- then im gonna go for some really happy upbeat music, so to set the mood- it’d usually depend on the genre

diary: how many pieces have you written that are just for you or will never see the light of day?

Ooooh fuck this is a tough one, Im too lazy to link it but- in my Yan!Henrik story there were some parts I ABSOLUTELY loved and felt were p damn good and in the werewolf story I wrote as well, some good parts in there too, but I definitely feel more fond over some of the scenes in the Yan!Hen story than any other one

Honestly, I’m pretty open to genres, like- fantasy, science-fiction, etc- the whole shabang- im not too picky bout any of them-

hmmm I guess like- wouldnt it technically be in third person with the way I write, for the reader its always You and or they, I always keep a story gender-neutral so that way all readers can be who they want to be in the stories, it can give them a better chance to imagine themselves in said position, now if i got a specific thing to do, male, female, non-binary, etc- then yeah I’d do that

backstory: how did you come to love writing?

That’s a- actually kinda simple tbh- its not an interesting story- At first I was actually unsure about it, but then- the more I wrote, the more I got super into it-  It was just… super fun to me after I did it for awhile

It’s a hobby for now, but I do wish I could open commissions- but hmm its been like, maybe 5-6 years by now, maybe even a bit longer

Okay- I need to be honest here, bc I get a lot of them, when I constantly state that I only do one shots and not chapter stories but the whole “pls continue” “another part to this please” “Do more of this” that doesnt really make me wanna do more, it makes me wanna move on actually from any of that, like im not about that plz continue, do more!!! type of comments

Oh god I’ve received TONS of good advice from people, especially when it comes to some of the German I use for Henrik, I will admit… I’ve been severely slacking with learning my German, and I…. I deeply regret it tbh, but- I never mind and am actually grateful when someone corrects me when using a word incorrectly in a sentence or whatever

hi!! so um apart from writing exceptionally well u write a lot and its wow! cause it seems to me that ur able to write things just as u want them to come out and thats so admirable, and also i feel like u can just write whenever u feel like it and i was wondering do u have any advice to fight writers block and just write cause personally it takes A LOT for me to be able to start something let alone finish it and i have to be super excited about it but i normally lose all excitement soon

it is very hard to write things & for them to come out as u intend!! bc while u have certain lived experiences & views of things, other ppl dont necessarily compute things in the same way that u do! so thats an awesome compliment if u think it sounds true to my vision of stuff as well as being understandable & idk, relatable? thank u pal

as for writing whenever i feel like it,,,, i get writers block All the time. some things i do to combat it is to: 

1) move on from where i am stuck. it’ll be there waiting when i have the right words but staring at the page or the screen without writing anything literally isnt moving me forward at all. 

2) i change the medium im using. if im stuck on smth & im on my computer, i’ll change to writing w pen & paper or i’ll go bang smth out on my typewriter (dont laugh at me its rly fun to use & very loud i love it)

3) sometimes movement helps. if u cant drive around or get on a bus, which is what works for me, sometimes just go for a walk around the house or change ur position like if ur sitting at a desk, maybe sit at the kitchen table or in a different chair or smth. the environment u work in can change what u think abt & how u think abt things

4) if ur stuck in a scene but rly want to tough it out & keep going, one of the things that rly works for me is to rmbr the senses: what are they seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching? 

5) a piece of advice i was given in my writing course but doesnt rly work for me is to throw in a curveball. i mean it MIGHT work for me but i havent used it yet. basically ur scene is going nowhere, it feels flat & bland, so u go to a random event generator or word generator or smth & u take a prompt from that & work with it. it might not fit into ur story at all, but it has got u thinking abt ur characters outside of what u have planned for them & sometimes thats all it takes. u might write one good line from that & use it to move ur actual scene on

as for losing motivation, that’s an entirely different beast from writers block. motivation, for me, is abt,,,,,,,, 2% of why i write. abt once every two or three weeks i get an idea that feels liek !!!!!!!!! in my head but that only lasts for about half an hour. outside of those times, i write bc the overarching story is smth i love. but to get from point to point is smth that everyone i have talked to struggle with in different ways. essentially this is where the planning stage comes in handy & ppl are in different minds abt the kinds of writers there are & the kinds of planning & what works best but honestly its an individual thing tailored to each person. essentially, however, u have two categories: 1. pantsers & 2. plotters. (i have also heard its on a x & y axis w one side of the x axis being pantser & one side plotter & the y axis being quilters & knitters. 

basically, pantsers are ppl who write by the seat of their pants. they get an idea & they run with it, with minimal planning. they have their pen & their pants & thats all they need to write the story. 

plotters on the other hand they plot the story, to varying degrees of detail before they start writing (this has also been called things like “the architect” who needs to know where all the pipes & electrical lines will go & room outlines before actually constructing the building  etc)

im a lazy plotter. i like to make a skeleton outline for my story & then i like to pants it

Yoosung just turned his mic on and with one last request of his guild “Hey, can everyone here flag this guy for inappropriate behavior”

In about 10 mins Yoosung went to pull up GameFreak90′s profile

It had been deleted

Yoosung had the smuggest of smirks on his face

Jaehee had noticed to look on your face and immediately popped to your side

“Yeah..I’m just getting creepy messages from some guy on Fumblr.” You handed her the phone so she could read them and her nose crinkled in distaste almost instantly

“Well your first problem is you apologized.” 

“Huh?”

Jaehee started tapping away as she spoke “Don’t apologize for not being interested. When you apologize it makes you seem more …docile. Submissive. If these creeps think you have an ounce of shyness or even politeness in you they’ll try to exploit it.”

“o-oh.” You stammered, surprised by how irritated Jaehee suddenly seemed

“Secondly,” Her expression softened a bit with a final tap on the screen “You didn’t block him immediately” She looked to you with a smile on her face, pleased with herself for whatever she said to your Fumblr follower

She handed the phone back to you and a light blush fell across your cheeks. Jaehee never seemed to be the protector type but when it comes down to it

He’s gotten his fair share of creepy fan mail, but he understands it comes with the job

But when you get creepy mail from his followers

One time when you went to get the batch, the two of you found a handful of letters with your name on them

“My fans must see us together all the time” Zen said as he handed the letters to you, a cautious look on his face. He was worried it was going to be some fangirl writing a mean letter about how she deserves Zen instead of you

It was much creepier

It was a bunch of letters from some guy 

‘My sister is a big fan of Zen so I have to watch TV shows with him on them all the time. One time there was a news story about him, but you were in the picture with him…’

The letters go on to say how once the writer saw you with Zen he started searching you more and claimed you two would be a perfect match. He started suggesting you break up with Zen (offering for him to date his sister) and for the two of you to get together.

You have to literally hold Zen back so he doesnt march to the return address and beat the shit out of sender

“Zen it’ll be such bad press do not do not do not”

“I DON’T GIVE A SHIT”

“YES YOU DO PLS ZEN”

20 mins later

He’s not calm, but he’s not bum rushing the door so…calm enough

“Let’s think of a reasonable way to handle this” You slump into a chair, exhausted from being the only thing standing between Zen and a physical assault charge

After a few minutes of silence

..”I have an idea.”

Zen pulled out a pad and started scribbling. “He said his sister is a fan of me? Well I’ll make her an offer she can’t refuse.”

Zen ended up writing a very heartfelt note to the sister of the sender, explaining the situation and how uncomfortable you were feeling because of the brother. And if the sincerity of the letter wasn’t enough to get her to make her brother stop, the VIP pass to Zen’s next show was a good bribe. 

He sent it out the next morning, and a few days later you guys checked the PO box to find a letter from her apologizing profusely for her brother’s behavior and how she’d handle it. And about 10 pages of ‘thank you’s and compliments for Zen of course.

Elizabeth would only chase a laser pointer for so long, so you had a lot of free time whenever Jumin was at work

You were no stranger to social media sites as they were the best way to distract yourself for hours at a time until you had something entertaining to do

And you’ve gotten spam bots before, but never a human who was actually so forward enough to send you enough messages to make you a small novel

You were appalled. 

“Leave me alone” was the best you could muster since you were in such a state of disgusted shock. 

The messages continued, and you ended up just blocking the guy. But even after that just looking at your phone made you a little nervous that you were going to see more messages from another douchebag

You just blocked him again and put your phone down, resolving to entertain yourself with anything else that wasn’t social media.

Eventually Jumin came home, and the first thing he noticed was your phone sitting on the coffee table and a specific lack of…you.

He went into a panic for a moment before you stepped into the hall, freshly showered. 

“Oh, MC, there you are. I was worried for a second. You’re usually not far from your phone.” 

“Yeah..” You muttered. “Some guy just keeps bugging me”

You explain the situation to Jumin and his phone is to his ear almost immediately as he picks up yours with his free hand.

You knew immediately where this was going and you had a slight grin on your face, knowing the creep who kept messaging you wasn’t going to be bothering you or anyone else anytime soon

You don’t even waste time

The second you get the first creepy message

You hand your phone to Seven

He just looks down at the screen, and a devious smile spreads across his face

Sure he could mess with anyone he wanted, but this time he has an excuse to go all out and ruin this Creeps life.

Seven whips up a program in a matter of minutes, connects a USB from his computer to your phone, then texts the man back

‘Hey cutie…wanna see a picture? ;)’ and he attached a file 

It says the message was received and viewed, but no response was given.

“What’d you do?” You ask as Seven hands your phone back

With a big smirk on his face:

“Once he opens that file his phone is going to run through his chat logs and play back all his creepy messages  on a permanent loop on his screen. And if he has any wireless connection to his computer, say, cloud storage, it’s going to happen to his computer too. And every few minutes he’s going to get a picture of me dressed as a maid, because I have to deliver, you know?”

You give Seven a huge hug “Ugh, thank you. How will I every pay you back”

“You already did” He laughs

“Huh?”

“You’ll see” He winks and goes back to his computer.

You shrug and walk away, figuring you’d find out soon enough

And you did

The next time you opened your phone, your background was a nonstop slideshow of 707′s Greatest Crossdressing Pics

And all your app icons were selfies

And your gallery was filled with pictures of the red headed hacker

V was sitting on the couch and you were upstairs cleaning up and putzing around

“Sure.” And with that he opened your phone to find a rather crude picture  “What in the world”

V realized there was no reasoning with this idiot, and he thought it would be a waste of time trying to further communicate with a fool like his, so he bit down his better instinct and just sent a picture of himself glaring at the phone camera and typed “You’re talking to a man”

there was no reply for a moment

my friend said this was a girl

“I can assure I am not a female. Your friend gave you the wrong number. Go away”

There was no response but V was sure he could feel the embarrassment from the other side of the connection

With a satisfied huff he deleted the messages and number, figuring it best if you never have to worry about the situation

He also plans to find out which one of your friends would give your number to such a vulgar creep.

You two were watching a video on your phone when you got a sudden chat request on Kiik, a messaging app

Saeran cast a quizzical look at you and you return it with a shrug, signalling you had no clue

When you open it up theres just a bunch of weird messages

You didn’t even have a chance to respond before Saeran took the phone from your hand

“Fuck off” He was holding your phone so tight you thought he was gonna snap it in half

“I said. Fuck. Off.” Saeran let out a breath that sounded like a growl

You could see a fire in your friend’s eyes and you knew things were about to get bad

“Saeran let’s just ignore it” You tried to take your phone back but he wouldn’t let go, too hyper focused on the screen. Instead he looked at you and said “He shouldn’t be talking to you this way.”

Whoever was on the other line had nooo clue who they were taunting

Saeran got up slowly, so slow it was a little creepy, when you looked at him you could see the gears running in his head

He walked over to his computer and started typing away, looking to the phone every now and then.

After about 20 minutes he finally came back to sit with you and handed your phone back.

“You….You good, Saeran?” You asked, surprised at how calmed he seemed.

He looked to you with a smile on his face and a glint in his eye. “I’m very good.”

You were almost worried to ask but “What’d you do?”

“Not much. But he’ll leave you alone soon enough.”

You stopped asking questions, he wouldn’t tell you the details anyways.

How i want to grow this year!

1. Learn to not take everything so personally

I have a tendency to get defensive if someone points out something I'm self-conscious about. For instance T was telling me about parasocial relationships and used the example of me and the garden (lmao) and instead of taking it on the chin and shooting a joke back at him, I took it way too personally and basically tried to argue my way out of it even though I totally do have a parasocial relationship with them and most other celebrities lol.

It's very hard to not immediately react, so I'm going to try to take a beat and tell myself it's not personal and that they're not attacking me. That being said, being sensitive to my own feelings is not a bad thing! In fact that leads me to my next thing

2. Learn to notice and communicate feelings as they’re occurring

This is extremely hard!!!!! But in the long run its going to save so much time and frustration for both of us. Next time T or anyone says something to you that doesnt sit well, just straight up tell him “that hurt my feelings”

This goes for all other emotions too! Good and bad! Tell T when youre feeling tired, sad, gross, and especially TELL HIM WHEN YOU FEEL HAPPY! That way there is no guessing on his part or making him feel like he’s done something wrong when he hasnt AND then he knows that youre having a blast just by being with him!

3. Wear what you want

Don’t worry so much about what T might find you attractive in. Sure he’s not gonna love all of your outfits, but if you’re feeling good then thats all that matters. This goes a little with dont take things so personally, but the next time he comments something negative about something youre wearing tell him “well I like it so too bad” or “i feel good in this” or simply “mind your business!” he will LOVE that you’re being assertive, and you’ll feel way more confident 

4. Become a better listener for T

he’s not the type to opening share his feelings either. In fact he’s much more eager to hear mine. But he has his own stress, worries, dreams, fantasies etc and i want him to feel like he can tell me all of it!

so this really ties in with the first thing. If he’s telling you something that pertains to your relationship, you cannot take it personally. You must do your best to listen and understand where he is coming from. You cannot make him feel like if he opens up that you will judge or yell at him. Make sure to offer him comfort and THANK HIM FOR OPENING UP. 

5 Take a Break

if youre in a heated conversation about awkward feelings and things, don’t be afraid to tell T you need a minute to collect your thoughts but you really want to continue the conversation

leave the room and do your best to calm down. Think about where he is coming from and consider both of yalls emotions. This is your time to make your thoughts clear so that you can communicate to him exactly what you want/need/feel. 

6 Come up with code words for complicated feelings

this is really silly and i saw it in a relationship advice video lolololol but it made a lot of sense!

Find a pattern with your emotions, things that often come up and fix them with a simple code word so you dont feel like you have to explain yourself over and over again but also so that T can understand exactly what youre feeling and vice versa

some feelings i’d like to have a code word for:

I’m feeling really ashamed for not having a job yet and its making me feel helpless and like a burden

I miss my mom, I’d like to hang out with her soon

I miss my brother, I would like to hang out with him soon

I feel like i need a girly/ pamper night

I feel gross for no apparent reason and i probably just need to wash my face but i promise it has nothing to do with you

something news/politics related has upset me and it has nothing to do with you

I’m feeling really insecure about my body rn could you compliment me

I’m feeling really insecure about my body rn pls do not mention my appearance in any way

I’m feeling really sexy and playful

I feel really uncomfortable in this situation can we leave

i have a few words

its been a while since ive been here. not bc i dont have things to scream about (namely how amazing my gf is bc she is and i often have emotions about that) but ive just havent got the energy to put things into words lately. mostly today i wanted to talk about the actual topic of being gay. being a lesbian if you will. ive struggled with this idea for... years probably, i just didnt know i was struggling at the start. ive been following a lot of wlw positivity blogs recently and a lot have said that its normal to feel like being a lesbian is a bad thing because thats what out society has made us believe theough the media. as well as a feeling of self doubt when it comes to actually accepting the fact that you like girls. and both of those topics have been really on my mind because thats exactly what ive been struggling with lately. i remember in like grade 7 thinking that the act of romantically liking a girl was The Worst thing a girl could do. nothing could top it. ive always felt inferior to others my age because i dont pay attention to current trends and media and often sounded stupid in what i thought was cool. this was one of the things i thought i would made fun of for. and for a 12 year old, that can be damaging. even today i have an extremely hard time using the word lesbian to describe myself, even though it is the most accurate. fast forward through highschool and i had my obligatory string of boyfriends... who mysteriously i was never too broken up about leaving (whether my doing or not). i feel like ive always dated guys trying to have that romantic feeling that ive always read in books but never achieving it. ive always gone for guys that werent conventionally attractive because i legit did not care what they looked like as long as i could talk to them. i felt like that as long as we had something to talk about, the relationship would be a success. oh boy was i wrong. even though we always had something to talk about, it never went further than that. like grade 10 boyfriend helped with practicing how to kiss n shit but other than that? useless. especially once he decided my interests didnt matter anymore and i was just convenient to talk at. looking back on it now, i was trying too hard to replicate the scenes from fan fic, books and movies. none of which showed any wlw representation. i never even considered the fact that i might like girls after that one recess back in grade 7. it wasnt until grade 10 (between bf 2 and 3) that i even considered girls. for the longest time i thought i was ace or atleast demi because i couldnt imagine myself ever having sex with anyone. but really? i could never imagine mtself having sex with a guy. it wasnt until i thought about doing it with girls that it hit me. (im sorry theres is no linear path to this im just getting my words out) today, i have this little voice in my head saying "youre not really gay, you just want attention and to be a part of a community". i know its wrong, because ive never been this happy in my life, and its because im in a relationship with my best friend, a girl. and that ive never felt this loved and complete when dating a guy. and ive never felt like doing anything past a quick kiss with a guy, and i still dont know how real that was. this is the first time ive been dating someone and not felt like i was lying to them, or not being fully honest with how i felt. whenever ive dated a guy i was always scared of pushing too much to be comfortable with them (regardless of hlw clingy they got and how much i didnt want them touching me). i never wanted anyone to know what i did with them. that was top secret claasified shit, even though they didnt seem to think so. with my girlfriend i feel so safe and comfortable. on more than one occasion ive had the thought "i want to go home" while standing in my own house because she isn't there with me. i feel ok saying when something makes me uncomfortable (in a mentality sense like qith how far i want to go, and in a "ur laying on my arm pls get off me" sense). she is my best friend. we have our jokes and we tease each other. i flirt with her knowing i am being 100% truthful and not forcing anything i say. i flirt with her without even knowing i was doing it (refer to previous posts on this topic). we started dating without "help" from mutual friends, and that makes me feel really good because she definitely didnt start dating me because someone else convinced her. im comfortable texting her and starting a conversation with her, and im not scared that she'll judge me for sounding stupid. i know she loves me. and i know she has my back through all the shit my brain goes through. i know she doesnt secretly hate me because of when she voluntarily says she misses me and wants to be with me. i know she likes me because she gets flustered whenever i compliment her. i know all these things and yet i still question myself. i still ask "are you really gay? are you sure youre just not desperate to be a part of something?" i shouldnt doubt it because i know all thses things that prove that im not. you dont get butterflies in your stomach when a girl smiles at you because ur straight. figuring this shit out was hard enough, but accepting it is the hardest thing ive ever done.
